Copy Client V.S. Transport

Hi Gurus,
I need to transfer all my structures and objects from the Old BW to a New BW, defined at group level so I can not create a new Client.
Is it possible to make a copy client only of the structures and objects from the old to the new BW ?
Or have I to use the transport method for all the structures/query/... ?
Please any kind of suggestion.

It is always better to transport unless and untill it is a cross client.

There is no way you can do that, you cannot copy only customizing onto a client without deleting the application data since there is no such profile in the client copy profiles to do so.
Also, to me it seems a bit strange to keep the application data (which depends on customizing for integrity) and update the customizing with something else!
However, still if you wish to do this, there is a crude way of doing it (theoratically). You could use the client copy by a transport request where in you club all your customizing transport requests into one single transport request using transport of copies and then use the client copy via transport request to copy the customizing.
Here are the steps:
1. Create transport of copies [click here|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/57/38e1a94eb711d182bf0000e829fbfe/frameset.htm]
2. Copy the newly created transport request into the target client via copy by a transport request functionality.

1.- All Cuztomazing
2.- All master data
3.- Only open items FI-AR , FI-AP,
4.- Stocks MM available for production.
5.- Documents sales valids
6.- Complete Balance (fixed , available and current asset, etc.)
From one client to other client.
¿How can I do it?
I know that cuztomazing and master data it's possible, I need to find from 3 to 6 point if it's possible for copy tables or some trx complete this information.
This work it's because my company code changue NIF and information TAX , and I need to have a cut over for carry forward only the describe information.

Copy clients between systems

I already copy clients from one Sap system to another, both systems was with same release, components, add-ons.
Now the TST system is upgraded to oracle 10 but the PRD system is still on oracle 9, we need to have some time for testing.
Is it possible to copy clients between these 2 systems with different oracle version?
Please advise.

Copying Client 001 instead of 000

Hi Experts,
Just a query, we've installed srm 7.0 ehp1 and after finishing the post processing i've noticed that we've copied client 001 to the new client (sandbox client - 251) instead of 000. is there any drawback or consequence of doing that? the thing is we have already configured SRM-ECC integration (SRM 251 and ECC 251).
Is there any harm? because reviewing the client 001 - it is copy of master client 000.. but based on the document -
5.16Performing the Client Copy
SAPinst creates three ABAP clients during the installation, client 000, client 001, and client 066.
Client 000 is the SAP reference client for ABAP.
Use client 000 as source client for the client copy.
please help me analyze and explain if there will be a drawback about copying client 001 instead of client 000. should i delete the existing client251 and create a new client251 copied from client 000 and repeat the SRM - ECC integration?

Why you want to change the client ?
I assume, you are not talking about changing the traget system client but the client of the source system TR ie for ex 100 or 120.
If the Development Server has two clients say 100 (Configuration) and 120 (Development and Unit Test) then for configuration changes Functionals will get the TR created in 100 where as we developers get the TR created in 120.
For Development,if you get a workbench TR in 100 client but trying to change the program in 120,then while saving the changes in the TR it will not let you save your changes because the TR is created in 100 but you are trying to use that TR to capture the changes that you are doing in 120.
To my knowledge we can't get THIS client changed,instead we need to get a new TR in the client say 120 where the workbench changes are supposed to be done.

Client dependent SCRIPT transporting to QA systems?

We hv clients like below,
clinet_gold (100- Gold clinet)
clinet_EU for Europe region
clinet_US for US region.
We hv a Z_Script_Invoice, meant (developed and using) for Europe region i.e. in clinet_EU
We r supposed to do changes (create TR/CR) only in clinet_gold (100- Gold clinet).
I got a requirement of fixing some issue in this script.
So, I made changes in the script in clinet_gold (100- Gold clinet), so TR/CR is created here in this client, fine.
Then, I logged in to clinet_EU>SE71->Menu->Utilities>COPY FROM CLIENT.......so, I entered the selection screen fields and OVER WRITTEN the existing script, so that, my changes are reflected, fine.
So, now, the created TR/CR is released to QA, so, pls. let me know,
1) Where and Where I can see my changes in QA boxes? in perspective of clinet_gold_QA, clinet_EU_QA?
2) Or by default this TR/CR will get imported in ALL test (QA) systems?

you should not do client_eu->se71.......
You should go to client_eu
execute the transaction scc1
and provide the transport request number which u have create for changes for script in client_gold.
and check the check box immediately
this will bring the changes from clent client_gold to client_eu.
se71->goto->copy from clients is used when we create new script from already existing.

CRM Communication structure not working in a copy client

Hi all,
my issue is the following. In client 300 CRM, defined as copy of client 100 communication structure CRMT_ACS_I_COM is not filled by implementation of BADI CRM_COND_COM_BADI .
Basically it is supposed that once you fill manually a field contained in a Z TAB, at item level, by marking the tax type, condition type in pricing procedure is filled automatically.
Now the point is, that in my client 100 of CRM this process works perfectly. Clients 100 and 300 are in the same machine.
Since customizing tables are the same, BADis used are the same (the code), what is falling?

I know it not recommended to set up two clients in the same machine, but unfortunately I did not have choice at time as it was imposed.
As well it true they share the same instance.
In any case I would say that in Quality we have the same clients and we haven't got any problems.
But one is kept just for getting historical data, meant CRM100, meanwhile CRM300 is the real production.
Both have an active middleware connection but just 300 is receiving and giving data to ERP, meanwhile R/3 as well is just kept for checking.
So I think the issue is elsewhere, otherwise quality system would fail as well.

I had copied a new client 800 from client 000, and client 800 is used for bi production client.
When i follow the guide "Template Installer", need to fill the filed "ABAP Client", so which client should i fill in?
The installation usage type is ABAPJava, BIEP

Low Disk Space When Copy Client

Hi All,
I've installed ECC 5.0 on Windows ,but i've only one client , so going to make new client . So go with tcode SCC4 for client copy and its start to copy the client , but Hard Disk space not that much that why its stop the client copy procedure. Then stoped the client copy procedure and close the server. But now when i want again logon to server its not start any kind of service b'coz of not sufficient space in HDD.
So please let me now what can i do for sort out this problem.

Change the database mode to noarchivelog before client copy. The command is
alter database noarchivelog
To start the system, clean all the files in the file system /oracle/.../origlogA,/oracle/.../origlogB,/oracle/.../mirrlogA,/oracle/.../mirrlogB. Then try to start the system.

Copy client manually with TP-commando

I am about to delete and then to import a client from productive client into the QAS-system.
I perform the deletion of the client not via SCC5, but with skript that executes the following:
clientremove
client=300
select *
The files from client-export were generated into the \cofiles and \data
Now I would like to execute the import manually with tp import commando.
Question
What ais the right TP commando for this import?
tp pf=TPPARAM import "<sid>KT12345" <sid> clientxxx u148 "-Dr3transoptions=tcs=160000 commit=128000"
What are especially the right u-code, tcs and commit values?

Why not use a computer startup script where you specify the path to the installation files. Check the script from Jason, it allows you to control the entire procss -

Script looks interesting, thanks Kent. Though there wouldn't be enough time to implement for these few PC's. If they just run copy down the 'Client' folder and then run CCMSETUP.exe locally without switches, would this be enough? Then later
on the newly installed client will retrieve settings from AD?
