Copy custom equalizer settings to ipod...

Not a difficult thing to do I would think... have some of the Apple techies update iTunes to export custom equalizer settings to the iPod. Would be a nice touch.

  • Download custom equalizer settings to ipod?

How can you download custom equalizer settings cereated in iTunes to the iPod?
I created custom equalizer settings and assigned those settings to several songs. iTunes plays the songs with the correct equalizer setting on my computer. But when I download to the iPod, only the preset equalizer settings are available in the menu. I need custom settings to compensate for the earphone frequency response and none of the preset settings even comes close to what is needed.

  • Where are custom equalizer settings saved on windows pc

Where are iTunes custom equalizer settings saved on my Windows 7 hard drive? I always backup the entire iTunes folder and use that to restore everything after reformatting my hard drive. Everything restores EXCEPT the custom equalizer settings. Which file contains my custom EQ settings, and where is it found?

Go to Edit>Preferences>Presets>Show Lightroom Presets Folder.
These folders are usually (see below) actually in the same folder called 'Lightroom' where your catalog lives.
If you back up the entire 'Lightroom' folder they should be there unless you have elected to put the folder elsewhere.
Either way 'Show Lightroom Presets Folder' takes one there.
You can copy and back it up seperately or as part of the greater 'ightroom folder' back up.

  • Custom Equalizer settings lost

    Guys,
I had designed custom equalizer settings for my "tunes" to match my hearing loss. I believe somewhere in updating my iTunes application they were lost. They no longer appear in the selection window of the equalizer. Any body know how to get them back? iTunes v10.1.2. Thanks.
    Regards, Phil
    Macintosh b'gosh

I am having the exact same problem. A number of my older files seem to have kept their custom settings, but not newer ones. I think it may have something to do with the EQ.plist file in the preferences folder in my library.
Does anyone know what the best way of resetting that file is and whether that will fix the problem?

  • Is there a way to import custom equalizer settings to in iPod Touch?

Well, I use a custom equalizer setting on iTunes, and I was wondering if I could import it to my iTouch (3rd Gen, iOS4). Syncing it does not add my custom equalizer setting it to the lists, and I cannot find out how to mess with the equalizer settings on my iTouch. Any help would be loved! <3

Custom EQ's don't transfer to the iPod, sorry.

  • Custom Equalizer Settings: Is this a solution?

Many have complained about how our iPods and iTunes will not save our custom EQ settings. BUT I wonder if this will work.
According to the forum, if the iPod EQ is set to FLAT, then the whatever setting is used for the song in it's original form in iTunes is used....."LIGHT BULB ON!"
So does this mean if I set a custom EQ setting in iTunes, sync the songs, set my iPod's EQ to FLAT, then I have my custom seetings working??
Would anyone from Apple tell me if I am on the right track please? Thanks

So does this mean if I set a custom EQ setting in iTunes, sync the songs, set my iPod's EQ to FLAT, then I have my custom seetings working??
    No.
If the iPod EQ is set to Flat, it will use the EQ setting for the song as long as it is one of the presets.
Custom EQs are not used by the iPod.

  • How to change the equalizer settings in iPod Shuffle 4th generation?

Hi, i own iPod shuffle 2nd and 4th generation. I used to use Sony and sennheiser earphones to listen to them. The problem is I cant get the maximum performance of the earphones on my iPod, unlike in laptop. It is because I can't adjust the Mid, Bass, and treble level in Shuffle. Does anyone knows how to change its equalizer settings?

You can't there are no equalizer settings on the Shuffle. Incidentally, if you are just wanting to boost the bass that is not getting the most performance from your headphones that is just making the bass abnormally loud.

  • No custom Equalizer settings? Why not?

Well, I've looked everywhere for a place to put this, to suggest this to Apple, but no dice.
Anyways, I bought a 3G iPod Nano a little while back, and while I'm pleased with everything else, the one thing that really bothers me is not being able to adjust the equalizer.
Sure, there's plenty of apple presets but... I really don't like any of them.
I looked it up on the general support section, and it says that you can't use any custom equalizer presets. Uh... why not? Would it really be that hard to implement this option in the software?
I spent ages very carefully adjusting the equalizer on my iTunes, getting it just how I like it to sound. I really wish that I could import even just ONE custom equalizer set onto my iPod.
Other then this, I'm very happy with my iPod. I love Apple's products.
    But this is just disappointing.

    Hi,
I am disappointed myself when I got the chance to own an iPod Nano 3G. I have other MP3 player, iRiver T60 and iFP-340, and they have been working great. They both have Custom Equalizer setting and an incredible EQ called "SRS WOW Effect - 3D Surround Sound" which produces incredible surround sound, noticeable even with cheap headphones. Personally, I don't think iPod can beat those other two MP3 Players in Sound. However, iPod Nano 3G I have has something better, such as incredibly fast booting up, easy and fast file searching, a small tiny but powerfully bright screen with high resolution, and other good features like Games, Clock, Photo Viewing, etc.
I hope Apple can see the demanding market in better MP3 player with 3D Surround Sound and FM Radio Tuner built-in and make a better iPod that has all of those good features.

  • Transfering custom EQ settings to iPod?

    Hello!
I have a great Equalizer setting on my Mac that I would love to transfer to my iPod - it works well for my small earbuds (not the default Apple earbuds) in loud places. However, the iPod (still!) won't support custom settings!
    I know one work around:
    1. make a custom setting
    2. Save it as a preset - overwrite the default. Say, save it as "Rock", and overwrite the included version. It works, but it's a hassle, and I don't want to lose the ability to use that EQ on iPod. (I can/have saved the original as "Rock original" or similar)
There's one other thing I know: If you view hidden folders, you can see the iPod Control folder inside the iPod after enabling disk mode. I need to figure out how I was able to view hidden folders before, of course. (Meh, bad memory). Inside this folder is an EQ folder, full of presets. This is obviously where the iPod looks for it's EQ settings. If I knew how to convert an iTunes EQ to the iPod-readable format, I could copy it in - and see if it worked. Does anyone know anything about this method?
So, the question is: How can I get a custom setting into iPod? Yes, I know the iPod won't do it by default. Yes, I know you can follow method 1 above. But is there a setting/script/application out there that can enable this?
    -Dan

Well it hasn't happened in the updates since the iPod was introduced, and it would be wrong of us to speculate.

  • Custom equalizer settings

I know that the iPod will not use custom built EQ presets - I always wondered why, btw - it can only be a mattter of codingthe right piece of software.
I wonder, however, what happens when I alter the presets delivered - will they be used in the way I changed them on the pod or what exactly happens in that case?
The question might be put a diffferent way: What is it that the pod cannot handle - new entries in the EQ presets list or any settings other than the ones being ddelivered by Apple.
In both cases, as I said - I wondered why the heck Apple pesters us with such nonsesnse. It'd be a far more accurate tool when users would be able to use it freely.

okay, the "legacy" pref files from your itunes 6.0.x days are located here:
    C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes.pref
    and
    C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes.pref
(“<username>” here will be the name of the account you had your itunes library in.)
You might have to turn on "show hidden files" to find them. (Right click "my computer", select open, select Tools menu -> Folder Options. Select View tab, "show hidden files" radio button is in the center scrolling panel.)
the new 7.0.x pref files are the "iTunesPrefs.xml" files you'll see in the two hidden iTunes folders.
soooo ... let's try this. with itunes shut down, get copies of the itunes 6.0.x legacy pref files from the old PC. (be careful to make a note of which is which when you're transporting them.
on the new computer (with itunes) move both the current .xml and any legacy .pref preference files out of their current positions to the desktop. (perhaps into different labelled folders ... we'll keep these there as backups in case anything goes wrong.)
place the .prefs from the old computer into the appropriate folders in the new computer.
now when you launch your itunes again (on the new computer), the itunes set-up assistant will run again. (much like it did the first time you ran itunes after installing it on the new PC.) one of the things that will be happening is that itunes 7 will be converting the .prefs you transferred into fresh .xml files.
once the setup assistant has done its thing ... are the custom preferences from the old PC's itunes now in place in your new PC's itunes?

  • Bringing over Custom EQ settings in iPod

When updating your iPod from iTunes, is there a way that the iPod can bring over the EQ's that you've customized in iTunes?
For me this would be wonderful. The EQ selections in the iPod are very basic and could use some true graphic equalizing tweaking.
    Can this be done?

    -Dre-
That's what I thought but in my iTunes what I have done was take the EQ setting 'R&B' and tweaked it to my liking and then saved it as Custom 1.
Then when I updated my iPod, the EQ setting in it is still on 'Rock'.
So does it truly bring over the EQ settings set in iTunes?

  • Using the itunes graphic equalizer with my ipod nano

I read in the ipod nano manual that it is possible to use the graphic eq in itunes for my ipod nano. You have to switch off the equalizer on the ipod in the 'playback' section which I did. Then the manual says that you can assign tracks to the graphic eq on itunes. Unfortunately it doesnt say exactly how to do that. I dont like the eq presets on the ipod nano and would like to use the graphic equalizer on itunes to eq all of the songs on my ipod nano. Does anyone know how to do this. Please help as this problem has taken over my life!!

  • Custom Equalizer on Ipod

Does anyone know if Apple intends to implement custom equalizer settings that can be transferred to the IPod that aren't preset? This isn't something that's difficult to implement and other digital audio players have the ability to do this so why hasn't Apple done this yet?

The best pre-set I've found to accentuate the bass without overextending the highs is the hip-hop setting. The only other usable presets that I've found are Rock and R&B, but they both extend the high-end as well as the bass.
Of course, there is always bass boost, which only touches the low end.
