Copy error

We have just loaded Java2 runtim enviroment SE v1.4.2_01 on to our Citrix Servers. When our users login in to their thin clients they receive the message
Setup cannot copy the file microsoft xml parser for java.osd

The file may not exist in the new version, and for some reason the client is configured to copy it still?

  • Copy error -36 when copying from Time Machine disk to Mac

Since using OS X 10.6.(.6), I can't copy certain files from my Time Machine disk to the Mactintosh hard disk without getting a copy error -36. The error doesn't occur with all files: for example pdf files will copy without problems, but Filemaker Pro files and iCal files don't. May be it's important to mention that when I retrieve files from the Time Machine disk, I have to mount the "sparse bundle" with my user files first and then drag the files to the desktop or an other place. This is because I'm running File Vault. If I try to retrieve files that were backed up under OS X 10.5, I get no copying errors at all. So it looks as if Snow Leopard has something to do with it. Is there anybody who has seen this problem before and knows how to solve it?

Ok, I finally was able to complete the Disk Utility Repair, and it says everything is ok. Still the problem in restoring presists.
One thing I noticed is that most files that Time Machine restore chokes on have an added set of permissions added to the file or folder with the same user name as mine, and the permissions level says "Custom". Thus it has 2 sets of permissions defined with the same user name, one with Read/Write and another with the same name that says "Custom." Am I explaining this well? Maybe this is a clue?

  • Finder Nonresponsive After Copy Error - Best Plan of Action?

The following happens on my system frequently. I am running 10.5.8.
Any help in understanding why this happens, and more importantly, what is the best course of action to take when it does, would be greatly appreciated.
I ask the Finder, via drag-and-drop, to copy a folder containing tens of gigabytes of data, from one, usually external, hard drive to another, usually external, hard drive.
The Copy window opens, reports the appropriate amount of data to be transferred, and the blue progress bar proceeds as expected. Partway through the process, the Finder returns a copy error, which states something like (I apologize for the paraphrase, but I do not have the exact message in front of me at the moment.) "The file [specified name of file] contains data that cannot be read or written." I click the "Ok" blue button (the only option provided). The error window disappears, and the Copy window is left, but the copy process does not continue, or at least the window does not indicate that any activity is happening. If I click the grey "x" button in the Copy window to stop the process, nothing happens. Even if I wait several hours after clicking the grey "x" button, nothing happens.
Trying to drag any of the hard drives connected to the system (whether they are the drives from or to which the data is being copied) results in an error message indicating that the drive is in use and cannot be unmounted.
Trying to shut down the system via the Apple menu usually results in no apparent activity. Other times, a message will eventually appear indicating that the Finder is preventing shutdown.
Attempting to relaunch the Finder via Force Quit results in the desktop items disappearing, but the Finder not quitting (the blue light remains below the dock icon). At times, I have been able to use Spotlight to run Terminal to attempt command line shutdown instructions, to no avail, and to attempt command line Finder termination commands, also to no avail.
The only action that results in a predictable, effective response is holding down the power button until the system shuts off. This, of course, is not ideal in terms of the hard drive data.
There are no known issues with the files being copied. For example, upon rebooting the system, I can copy the files without generating an error.
Can anyone provide any insight as to what is happening, how to prevent it from happening, and what to do when it does happen?
If more information will help, I will gladly try to answer any questions.
    Thank you.
    RDFrelay

Some additional information: The error message reads as follows: "The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "(file name)" cannot be read or written." It also says "Error code -36".
Using Force Quit to ask the Finder to relaunch results in a blank desktop (everything except the Dock is gone).
Again, there is nothing wrong with the file that is named in the error.
Does anyone know what is going on and how to resolve it?
    Thanks.

  • What does the "Copy error code files" option do in the build spec properties

I have the "Copy error code files" checked for my application build specification but when I run my EXE on a different computer and call the simple error handler, I don't get the custom error from my computer's
C:\Program Files(x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2012\user.lib\errors\User-errors.txt file. Instead I get the "this error code is undefined" explaination.
I've also tried including that file in the "always included" section of the build spec but that didn't work either. Am I missing something?

    Check out this link:

    Specifically this paragraph:
"When building an executable (EXE) or shared library (DLL) with the Application Builder, make sure to add the custom error file as a support file (under the Source Files tab). For an executable, the custom error file will be saved in the <executable destination directory>\user.lib\errors directory. For a shared library, the custom error file will be saved in the National Instruments\Shared\LabVIEW Run-Time\<version>\Errors directory. When distributing a shared library, make sure to install the custom error file in this directory."

  • Client copy error:cannot open log:/w2k3-web53/sapmnt/trans/log/cc000007.ecc

    Hi Experts,
While Client copy in Local System , I am facin gthis Error, please anybody help me out.
    client copy error:cannot open log:/w2k3-web53/sapmnt/trans/log/cc000007.ecc
    Regards,
    Amit,

Your Error Message is like => cannot open log:/w2k3-web53/sapmnt/trans/log/cc000007.ecc
This means 'w2k3-web53' is your machine name. and your sap system name is 'ECC'.
    1) If you are on windows then :
        Type '
w2k3-web53\sapmnt' in address bar, this gives you an error and hence you are getting the above mentioned SAP error.
Therefore to get out of this error follow the simple steps=>
         I) Create 'sapmnt/trans/log' (recursive) directories anywhere on your machine.
II) Share 'sapmnt' directory over network {right click on directory->properties->sharing} with full access to others.
III) Confirm this by typing '
w2k3-web53\sapmnt' in your address bar. 'CC00000*.ECC' will be created automatically by SAP system  while copying.
    2) If you are using Linux then:
Create the directories as mentioned above and give full access to directories by using CHMOD command.
        Share 'sapmnt' directory if necessary.
Note: Change the protection level of your client in SAP if necessary:
SCC4->EDIT->Double click your client -> then set Protection level at level 0 {No restriction}.

  • Documanage Error #2002 (File Copy Error)

    Hi,
I am getting this error "Documanage Error #2002 (File Copy Error)" during the Genarc process. I am not able to understand the problem. Can any one please let me know about this error.
Also is there documentation about documanage errors, please let me know.
    Thanks in Advace

Turn on your debugging options in Documaker INI and see what you get.
    < DBHandler:DMIA >
    DEBUG = YES
    < DBHandler:ODBC >
    Debug = YES
Also you may want to turn up your logging in the poffice.ini and check those logs as well. It's been a while since I've seen that but if I recall correctly this error usually happens when you are trying to archive a transaction from Genarc to Documanage and either the connection is broken or the document category doesn't match.

  • Escaping file copy error?

I was copying a data CD which had a bad file. When I hit the bad file, the message appeared "The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "the source file" could not be read or writte. (Error code -36)".
When I click okay, the Copy message box remains, and clicking the X in that box to stop copying had no effect. I had to restart finder to escape. This is OS 10.5.4 on 2 x 2.66 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon Mac Pro. Thanks for any ideas. I couldn't find a bug report location in Apple Support.

Thanks for the suggestion, but there are no permission errors on the target disk or the system disk. The problem file is on a CD, and there's no way to repair permissions on a CD.
I think it's an OS bug that the copy dialog box won't cancel on a bad file copy error.

  • File copy errors

    Hi,
We are currently experiencing some failures with copying files (files
typically over 100mb in size) up to one of our file servers, and we're
hoping that someone has seen the problem or has some advice.
The server is an HP Proliant DL360 G5 (with two Broadcom Gigabit NICs)
running Novell Netware 6.5 with SP8. The typical CPU load is below 20%,
however packets per second is typically in the 50k-75k packets per
    second range during the day.
On Windows XP with Novell Client 4.91 SP5, we receive: "Cannot copy
<filename>: The specified network name is no longer available."
On Windows 7 with Novell Client 2 SP1 (IR8), we receive "Can't read from
    the source file or disk."
The symptoms are more typical when the traffic is higher on the server
and in areas with faster switch hardware. There is no consistency with
when (during the copy) we see the error and there seems to be no affect
on the server itself. Even though we have not seen errors on the
monitor's NIC stats, we have tried moving from one server NIC to the
other to see if it is somehow related to a NIC. The errors are
repeatable on both the server's internal drives as well as the connected
    SAN drives.
In addition, we have another server with almost the same configuration
(same hardware, SAN connection, OS version and patch level) that is not
having this problem at all. The main difference is that the load on
this 2nd server is very small compared to the server where we see the
    copy errors.
    Any info is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    ,Matt

    Hello,
please check the driver's version of the broadcom nics (BX2.LAN).The
were some versons causing issues (3.70, 4.41, 4.42) in the past look
whether version 5.01 is loaded on the server and check whether you team
the nics with broadcom teaming software or the netware built-in. MAybe
you should also check the ports of the network switch for connection
options (Speed/Duplex settings being auto/auto or 1G/full). Also the
firmware of the server (BIOS, NICs etc.) should be checked, you can find
updates on the website of HP:

    Hi Nght,
It's because you are trying to copy a reference to an image, not an image itself.
See my revised version; you need to use another IMAQ Create so you have one location for the original and one for the copy. You also need to specify filepaths for the original and copy.

    Hello Shivam
How is your remote copy going on?
Did you increase the size of psap temp in order to carryon with the copy?
Your Source system is PRD system. Are you doing this copy while  users are using the PRD system.
If not then  this may not  be  result of client copy? or
if no user is logged in in your PRD system,You have to decide if this is due to client copy.
Let me know what  corrective measure taken by you to completed the remote client copy?
normally we dont get this dump in the source system but I have  psaptemp around 30 GB or more in al my systems so may be this might have not surfaced in my environment.
    Thanks

    Hi Nizamuddin,
    Message text
Data on dump will not fit into current database. Need %d Mbyte database.
    Explanation
This error occurs when an attempt is made to load a database dump into a database smaller than the dumped database. You cannot use dump database or load database to shrink a database, regardless of the amount of actual data in the database.
    Action
If your goal is to load the database from the dump, you must increase the size of the database being loaded into to at least the configured size of the dumped database. You can do this with either the alter database command or by dropping and re-creating a larger database.
If your goal is to shrink the total size of a database, you cannot use dump and load. You must copy all the data out of the database using bcp, drop the database and re-create a smaller database, then re-create the database structure with scripts, and reload the data with bcp.
extend your current master *database* on the master *device* to a total size of 101376MB(or more) (use  'alter database' command)
alter database master on master = <size in MB>
If there isn't enough room on the master device AND the master device is either a file system device in a file system that has free space or was created on a raw partition that is actually larger than the master device was defined, then you can use the DISK RESIZE command to enlarge the master device
disk resize name = "master", size = <additional space in MB>

CAn you precise also what Migration tool are you using?
Migration from 5.1 to SAP BPC 7.0 NW?
In that case when you are speaking about the installation about what part are you speaking?
I think actually you are speaking about the migration tool from 4.2 to 7.0 Microsoft version .
In that case you can install the mIgration tool just with SAP BPC sys admin users and you have to input the password for that user. Sys admin user for BPC is usually the user used for installation of SAP BPC server.
Any way I suggest to follow the Migration tool training document and there you will find all the information necessary.

  • Netcenter Drive Disconnects When Copying:  Error -36

I recently purchased a 250 GB Western Digital Netcenter Drive for my network. Model Number: WDXE2500JBN
I am able to connect directly to the drive by using either the Network browser in Finder or mapping to the drive directly using "Connect to Server" in Finder with the IP address of the drive, i.e.: smb://10.10.10.10/shared
The drive inconsistently disconnects when copying any amount of data (I am trying to backup my iTunes). After a few minutes of copying I receive the following error:
'The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "" could not be read or written. (Error code -36).'
I have tried to reconnect, reboot, restart, the computer, router, Netcenter and still Finder gives me the message after copying approximately a gig worth of data.
If you have some suggestions or thoughts, I would greatly appreciate it-
I also have a Windows 2000 and Windows XP machine on my network and they are able to copy and connect to the drive without any issues.
MacBook Pro 15" 2.16 Intel Core Duo Mac OS X (10.4.8)
MacBook Pro 15" 2.16 Intel Core Duo Mac OS X (10.4.8)
MacBook Pro 15" 2.16 Intel Core Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

I did, they said it is an issue with how OS X handles Samba connections.
    Any thoughts?

Well.. those don't look like errors to me... depending on what copy profile you use SAP chooses what tables to copy and what tables to delete... so basically is just letting you know which tables are not to be copied across...

  • I FOUND THE FIX: iPhone Photo Copying Error - Required file cannot be found

This was driving me crazy for weeks.
The solution is quite easy. I noticed that I could import new photos and they would copy. But when I tried to do folders that were there for a while, I would get the error. So I assumed some database had to be corrupt since the photos were viewable in iPhoto. I tried exporting a library and reimporting it and those copied. So I KNEW it was a database issue.
iPhoto creates "iPhone/iPod" versions of any photo you copy to a device. Even when you remove it from the device, it still saves "the iPod" version in case you re-add it. So the solution is to delete all of these versions. I have provided easy instructions.
*Before doing this...make sure to write down which events/albums you keep on your iPhone because doing this will remove all of those selections. You will have to redo them afterwords. But unlike your current situation...it will WORK and actually sync. These directions will require you to delete all of the photos on your device, too (not your camera roll).*
    1. In iTunes UNCHECK "Sync Photos from iPhoto". When it asks you about deleting all of the photos...do it. Let it remove all of your photos.
    2. Eject your iPhone and exit iTunes. Also make sure you have exited iPhoto.
    3. Find the iPhone Library you are using. Right Click and choose "SHOW PACKAGE CONTENTS".
    4. Find the "iPod Photo Cache" folder and delete it.
    5. Go back into iTunes and Re-enable "Sync Photos from iPhoto". Choose what you want to copy...and click sync.
    Viola.

For some reason iPhoto uses *"iPod Photo Cache"* for both devices including your *iPod or iPhone*.
So even if you have an iPhone...follow my directions. The apply to any device. iPhone, iPad, iPod...and its the same for all versions of iPhone and iPod, too.
Right click on your iPhoto library. It still labels it as "iPod Photo Cache" even though you have an iPhone or iPad. I don't know why. Ask our uncle Steve.
