Copy express add on sap 8.8 -PLD coping problem

Dear Experts
While coping the PLD from one database to another by using copy express ( sap 8.8 PL 00 ) only the empty layout (without any field) was creating. Pleas give the solution.

Try this,
Here is a simple way to copy PLD from one Company to another Company
Please follow these steps to copy PLD from one DB(Test DB) to another DB(Live DB)
1. Login to the Test DB and open the PLD. Click on menu 'Print Layout Designer' and select 'Display Hidden Fields'
2. Goto Edit Menu and select 'Select All'
3. Copy All the fields (select copy from Edit Menu)
4. Click on Administration and select Choose Company and login to the Live DB.
Note: Donot Logoff from the Test DB)
5. Open the PLD in Live DB. Click on menu 'Print Layout Designer' and select 'Display Hidden Fields'
6. Goto Edit Menu and select 'Select All'
7. Delete All the fields
8. Now Paste the fieds which you copied from 'Test DB'.
Note:
Ensure that the Document Properties like Width, Height, Top Margin, LeftMargin etc.., are same before pasting in 'Live DB'
OR
Pls use Export and import method of sql database .
there is a short way but it is not ideal, u can directly open the Rdoc and ritm table and copy the data related to particular PLD(document id) and paste into rdoc and ritm of new database respectively .

Creatio of the new DB with Copy Express

Hi Experts,
I creating new DB while using copy express add-on, but it is taking time to create DB.And till now I m not able to complete te process successfully.
Please can any one advise me in this situation what I have to do.To complete the scenario I already follow the proper steps of the copy express like save the worksheet and XML configuration file.
General Infrmation.

Dear Amit,
Thanks for posting your query to the SAP B1 Business One Forum. However, the scenario is not totally cleared.
You stated that you are creating the database with Copy Express, we will assume that you created a new database within Business One application. This database will be the target one and must have the same version, patch and localization from the source database.
From the source database, open the Copy Express add-on and select the settings you would like to transfer (Note.- Copy express will only copy your master settings, not specific data -I.E: Item details-).
The add-on will allow you to save this template to be used with different database.
The transfer process could take more or less time depending on the database size and settings selected.
Kindly go through the above points and if you need any further clarification, please update this thread.

Copy Settings/Setups using Copy Express

Hi Guys,
I'm using B1 2007 A SP01 PL 05 and I want to copy all the settings and setups in an existing database unto a newly created one using the Copy Express add-on. I did this by selecting all the nodes except the manual transactions but did not get any data transferred at the end of the process.
Did i do anything wrong by selecting all the nodes?
Please note that the newly craeted database is completely blank except for the company name which was provided at the point of the company creation.

You need to copy basic setting first. If not sure, then one by one. Hope these help:

Cannot start SAP add-on copy express

Dear All,
I requested a global license for our customer. The manager SAP user has Pro license. When I tried to start copy express in either CA or US localization DB, I got an error message 'Add on does not have a license'.
I tried on another customer's server. The manager SAP user has Pro license only but I can start the add-on.
The customer is on SAP8.8 PL12, SQL2005. Any idea? Thanks.

We don't have that choice 'SAP Add-ons' or 'Add-on Access'. When I requested the license, AddOn Access Users I requested 90 (the number I can request). When I go license administration, on components tab, I can see I have 9999 SAP add-ons. But I cannot see it on allocation tab.
On my other customers, I cannot see 'SAP Add-ons' or 'Add-on Access' either. I just allocated Pro license and it works fine.

Copy Express problem in SAP 8.81

Hi,
I run copy express in SAP 8.81 PL4 and have proceed with 'Copy to target database' button.
During the process by the time I reached 'Create target database', suddenly an error appear:
Failed to connect UI API. Copy Express is terminating.
Error Code:0
Error Message: No more threads can be created in the system.
At first I thought it was due to the automatic lock application of SAP after idle for how many minutes.
But when I rerun the process again it's the same error.
What have I missed? How to resolve this problem?

Hi Jaykumar,
You are absolute right some times this type of situation occured in SAP but there is no permanent solution for this.
You have to upgrade your SAP to next PL and try again. otherwise
Goto -> Crystal Reports -> Add-ins.

PLD Details are not copied using Copy Express

Try this method to copy pld....
Open the PLD and edit Ctrl+A Copy the PLD from one data base and choose company(Don't use another sap db for pasting at the time open only one sap) change company and open any pld and Ctrl+A delete old and Paste. The same PLD will come here.

Copy Express PLD from test DB to Live DB

I'm totally a new user for "Copy Express" function. I would like to copy a PLD only from my testing db to my live db. I've read other
threads on this topic, and wondering whether can I copy only the PLD without copying the other datas (user cong, master data &

Hi Serene,
In the left panel of CXp, the selection boxes represent what will be copied. If you drill-down, you will see you can get it down to individual records, including specific PLD templates.
Best to test using the add-on to get familiar with it.
I suggest testing with one first. I've used CXp to copy PLD templates and recently noticed that I need to fix the formatting in the target db as some of the fields have the background in black. My workaround is to copy one template, fix it and then, depending on the template, use the Duplicate Layout Template tool to create related PLD templates (ex. Quote to create SO).

Copy Express will surely do the job and if you want to just copy a few templates individually, you could use this SQL Script
INSERT INTO [TARGET\].[DBO\].[RDOC\]
SELECT [SOURCE\].[DBO\].[RDOC\].* FROM [SOURCE\].[DBO\].[RDOC\]
WHERE [SOURCE\].[DBO\].[RDOC\].DOCCODE = 'CHO*****'

SELECT [SOURCE\].[DBO\].[RITM\].*
FROM [SOURCE\].[DBO\].[RITM\]
WHERE [SOURCE\].[DBO\].[RITM\].DOCCODE = 'CHO*****' AND [SOURCE\].[DBO\].[RITM\].DOCCODE
IN (SELECT DOCCODE FROM [TARGET\].[DBO\].[RDOC\])
I DocCode example shown above is of the Check PLD template
You can get the DocCode from the PLd Document Properties window

How to Copy Express CR System Template

hi all,
i have upgrade my SBO from 2007 to 8.81 PL;04, but after the upgrade i cant find the Crystal Reports System Templates from Report and Layout Manager.
Now i am thinking to use the SAP Addon Copy Express but when i run the Copy Express [Click Here|http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii184/abing430/CompyExpress-1.jpg] from Documents and Reports i cant find anything to be copy. am i doing the right thing?

yes, CR from 2007 is not a native of SBO when it come to Print Layouts. CR for SBO was an Add-on.
now since 8.8 version of SBO, CR is native for it. now my SBO is 8.81, it should be default. now i need to copy these templates to my production database. is this possible?

it is not possible to use Copy express.

Copy Express Question

I created a Test/Template company where I configured such things as Font size, columns displayed on the various marketing documents etc. Will Copy Express copy these user specific setting from one company to another and if so, what options to I select when in Copy Express?

Hi Dana,
To know what Data Category are copying, you can click on the Data Category->In Data Details (right panel)->lower part, thereu2019s an explanation for most categories.
==For Font size: Data category->Display Settings
When you check the 2 checkboxes under this category, there are unresolved dependencies. To resolve them, please check other category.
==For Columns displayed on marketing documents:
If Iu2019m understanding you right, your request is to display UDF on marketing documents. If itu2019s the case, when creating a NEW DB, check the following:
Copy user-defined fields and tables
Copy user-defined objects
If thereu2019re also Query linked to the UDF, check Formatted Search Linked to User-Defined Fields
==How to resolve dependency: please search this topic in CX help file.
==However, there're some general suggestions when it comes to CX:
1. create a NEW DB with the following checkboxes checked
Copy user-defined fields and tables
Copy user-defined objects
2. copy one Data Category at one time.
Data Categories sequence is based on a logical data transfer and DB modification structure. It's recommended to copy part by part, instead of all of them. In this case, if any error occurs, we can also narrow down which category goes wrong.
3. use 'Leave existing and add new' instead of 'replace all' as Copy Method
4. In Authorizations->Data Details->Uncheck all users that're with Superuser authorization before copy. (this is important)
It's because Superusers have full authorizations by default and it can't be changed. It's very likely to fail the copy process.
5. Use the latest version of CX, currently itu2019s 101.

Copy Express Fails with "Internal Error (-5002) Occurred"

Hello experts:
I have SAP B1 Version 8.8, PL16.
I have two users I want to add from the old database to the new database. It works fine for one and the second one has a failure with the above error statement. I cannot figure out why the two users are creating different results. All I am doing is adding two users...
EDIT: I did see that the successful user which was brought over is a Superuser and the other one was not - the only difference between them...
Of course I have searched the forum and -5002 seems to have to do with DTW, ,but nothing on Copy Express...anyone know why this is happening???
What great error messages we have - they make so much sense!!!

Hello Julie...thanks for doing that. I did the exact same thing and it just ended up "wasting" away with no response from SAP. They could not figure out themselves...and they moved the priority down to "low" (which is the kiss of death in any inquiry)...
So, I think it ends up as this whole conversation has already centered around - namely, error messages and absolutely no explanation as to what those error messages mean. LOL - like I could have ever gotten away with this while I was in development: throw out an error message and not give any of the Users exactly what the error messages mean or what they need to do to resolve the situation!!! Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy is the bottom line...
I have used Copy Express since this and have had similar experiences with error messages - it just gets down to "do as much as you can with Copy Express and then manually enter the information" - what a waste of time, especially when you consider this could be such a great tool with the proliferation of integrated systems!!!
Gook luck finding out and hopefully something comes of it...

Copy Express Error

I am logging onto a SAP server via RDP and attempting to use Copy Express. When I log on remotely I get the error "Add-On CopyExpress: %s - uninstall failed.", yet when a user who is local to the system does not get any errors and it works fine. We are both signing on to the same company and using the same user, the user is a SuperUser also, the only difference is that I'm not local.
Any ideas why the local user would be abel to start and use Copy-Express but I get this error?

Jeff,
RDP session may not work as the local. That is mostly because user authorization issue due to remote logon. Although your SAP user code is the same but network user do not have the same permission.

Copy express -authorizations

Hi
All
User General Authorizations are copied through copy express
and got the success message in the log file
but in the target database for the users some authorizations are copied and some are not
when it is tried to add the authorization manually, need to click update button twice and still authorizations are not updated

Hi,
Instead of copying directly from one db to another, create an xml with the settings first, then as a second step import this xml to the other db.
I'm not sure if it will make any difference with authorisations, it only helped me when I had problems copying print layouts.
