"Copy Form Settings" in Users-Setup
Hi
Could somebody shed some light on the Copy From Settings function in Users-Setup?
How to select source and how to select target user?
The one currently logged on as well as the one selected are greyed out ... I'm not getting it how to use this.
Thanks
Franz

Copy express does not copying form settings
hi,
i try to copy the form settings of a user settings from test database to live database.
The addon works without error, but the result is bad. The form settings will not be arrived in the target database.
I only check Display Settings --> UserDisplay Settings
The user exists in both databases.
No error is thrown. The addon quits with success.
The addon version is CopyExpress 880.238.00.20 (SAP 8.8 sp00 pl20)
Has anybody tried this with success?
best regards
MarkusHi,
Please check the following points.
1. Please try use user 'sa' and its corresponding password in SQL Server. If it works, please try to log in Copy Express 'Server Login' window again.
2. Check Business One->Choose Company->Current Server
Can you log in B1 successfully?
Please make sure it's the same information input in Copy Express 'Choose
Company' window

Copy parental settings between users
I've got four kids. I'd like to set the parental controls for each of them, but I don't want to re-type all the allowed websites over and over again. I tried copying from the user list, but the web content didn't copy over. Any suggestions?
What product and version is the user using?
You need to adjust the location of the user stamps for the userID and product version.
Use the following JavaScript to locate the user's stamp file location:
app.getPath('user', 'stamps'); -
Copy Screen Layouts across users?
Hello All,
Is it possible to copy the screen layouts designed for one user to be copied to another user? We have made lot changes in the way the Purchase module screen looks through Form Settings for one user and we would like to know if the final layout is copied to other users so that the work is not duplicated.
Thanks and regards,
Bharath SHi Bharath,
It is possible. you can use SAP B1 2007A SP01 PL12. The functionality is available in the module administration --> setup --> general --> users setup --> copy form settings. you can open one user setup that you want its layout designed by open it user setup form and then click copy form settings. The window copy form settings to users window appears and you can select the user you would like to have the same layout designed.
you can also user query as follows:
CODE SNIPPET REMOVED AS IT CONTAINS UPDATE/INSERT STATEMENTS-
but the query only apply to copy to one user. You must do the copy either using user setup window or query after all users log out from B1.

I am using David Powers 'Training from the Source'. I now have the emails working.
It has worked with a Basic Form and Resetting Forgotten Passwords.
However I had a slight problem with the Travel Inquiry section. The array (Destinations, How many, Interests etc) appeared OK in the browser but they are missing when sent to my email inbox - only have name and comments.
Graham WhiteHi,
Have you tried the "Copy Form Settings" function in "users - Setup" window? You can copy the form settings for one user to other users.
Prerequisites
You have write authorization for the Users – Setup window.
All other users are logged off from SAP Business
One.
All SAP add-ons to SAP Business One, including ISV
add-ons, are disconnected.
All other SAP Business One related tools (for
example, EarlyWatch Alert, database administrator connected to SAP Business One
via server management tools) are disconnected.

Hello,
We have several users in our company and each time we make a change to our form setting we need to change all the other users manually as we want everyone's screen to look the same.
How can we just change one users form settings (i.e., information shown on the columns headers when we do a find or info displayed on the S/O columns, etc.) and have it apply to every user in our company?
Thanks,

Form Settings/Change of descriptions
Hi,
I've amended the field descriptors on a number of BP screens to make input for users easier i.e. changed Street, Building, etc to Address1, Address2 etc. using the user [manager].
I then copied the form settings from manager to all other users. Several users but not all have informed me that they cannot see the revised field names i.e. they continue to see the default name for that field. I then logged into 3 separate PCs, using manager and the same company. On PC1 & PC2, the new field names are visible, but on PC3 they are not. This was done post copying the form settings.
Has anyone come across this problem and if so, what was the solution?
Thanks and regards,
JonHi,
Please check SAP note:
1512089 - 'Copy Form Settings' cannot be used when users are logged in

How to copy default settings to all user ?
Dear Expert
I want to set for all users have same default settings (default form layout)
is there any way to copy default settings from 1 user to another users ?
really appreciate your help
thank you
Best Regards
JeiMingHi,
If am understood, I hope you are expect the authorization copy.
Procedure
1. In the Administration --> System Initialization --> Authorizations window, choose the name of the user whose authorizations are to be copied. Hold the mouse button until a rectangle appears around the user name.
2. Drag the rectangle to the name of the user to whom to grant the authorizations.
3. Release the mouse button.
4. A system message prompts for confirmation of the copy operation.
5. Choose OK to confirm the operation. The authorizations are copied completely to the second user.
Thanks & Regards,

Form settings transfer to multiple users
Hello,
I know that this question has been asked before in the forum. But I could not find any definite answer to it.
Can the form and other UDF settings be transferred to multiple users automatically? Or do I need to manually make those settings for each user login. If it can be done, then how to do it?
Thanks!
AshGents,
I have still this SAP note and my computer and I have rewritten the query to be a bit more controlled. However, I do not guarantee that this query will work and remember that SAP does not support direct SQL on a database so be extremely careful about this.
<b>Definition of the query</b>
DELETE FROM [CPRF_EVO]
INSERT INTO [CPRF_EVO]([FormID], [ItemID], [ColID], [Width], [VisInForm], [VisualIndx], [EditInForm], [VisInExpnd], [ExpandIndx], [EditInEXP], [Folded], [UserSign], [ExtDisable], [ExtInvsbl])
SELECT * FROM [CPRF] WHERE UserSign=1
DELETE FROM CPRF WHERE UserSign=2
UPDATE CPRF_EVO SET UserSign=2 WHERE UserSign=1
INSERT INTO [CPRF]([FormID], [ItemID], [ColID], [Width], [VisInForm], [VisualIndx], [EditInForm], [VisInExpnd], [ExpandIndx], [EditInEXP], [Folded], [UserSign], [ExtDisable], [ExtInvsbl])
SELECT * FROM [CPRF_EVO] WHERE UserSign=2
<b>Remarks</b>
This query will read the column settings for user 1 (usually the user manager) and will copy them to user 2. When you perform this, ensure user 2 is not connected to SAP.
If you need to copy the configuration of user 1 to all users, you can add a loop in the query or replace 2 by 3 and then 3 by 4 etc.

Open Users Setup form in Find mode
Hello,
When I open the users form
Administration
---Setup
General
Users
this form is in Add mode. Is there a way to have it in find mode directly ?
Thank you
SébastienHi,
It is not possible to have the User - setup in the Find mode default.
The form opens in the Add Mode and you have to go to the Memo and click on Find or do a Ctrl + F.

User-Defined Fields and Form Settings
I have a User-Defined Field in the table "OCLG" and I'd like to show it in the "Activities Overview for Business Partner - xxx" window.
Is possibile to do that by the "Form Settings" window? Here I don't find U-D Fields. Is there a way to show them?
Or is there an other solution?Hi,
This report is hardcoded. You need to create your own report for it. Better by Crystal Report.
Thanks,
Gordon
