Copy GPS infos from exif to xmp

Hello,
I would like to copy the gps coordinates from pictures from the exif data to the xmp data to read the information in indesign cs5. How does this could work?
I was sent to this forum, this is the original thread:

Thanks for help
Thomas

Thanks for the example, but it I wonder if Picassa is using it's own format?
This is the information that is in the exif data..

Image Unique ID = 49e5de27a4eacc78664f825224c07059
As you can see the GPS data isn't there only date, time and version, does it use Image Unique ID?
I downloded Picassa and Google Earth, the details didn't show in Picassa and nothing came up in Google Earth when trying to view it from Picassa.
Have I missed anything? as I don't use Picassa or Google Earth normally?
Edit: I have also had a look at all the metadata using Exiftool and no further GPS data is available.

Is it possible to display GPS info from a COOLPIX S800c in Aperture 3?

To see the GPS locations display the image in "Places view", while connected to the internet (you will see the images locations as pins on a map).
To see the numerical values edit the "EXIF info" metadata preset in the Info panel to include GPS:
Or simple us the Lift&Stamp tool to lift the tags from your image:
It will show the GPS value, if the image has tags. This tool can also be used to transfer the GPS tags to other images without GPS.

  • Lightroom 5 doesn't show GPS info from canon 6D

Lightroom 5 doesn't any longer show GPS info from canon 6D in imported rawfiles. This regards MacOS-version. It works in iPhoto and in Lightroom 5 for Windows 8! Strange...

I think I was having the same issue - after all I found out that when importing photos via Lightroom, I was overwriting the GPS information by "updating" the metadata by using the preset I used to use for my scanned film photographs.
    Check the following:
When importing, on the right hand side you see "Apply During Import"
If you have the "Metadata" section "None" then this is not the solution for you.  But if you have something else, make sure that you go into "Edit Presets" then UNCHECK "GPS" section of it.
    Hope this helps.

  • GPS info in EXIF data

I have read the threads regarding GPS data and Aperture. I understand how to insert GPS info in the raw files and then import that file into Aperture.
Is there a way to add GPS info (latitude and longitude) into an existing Aperture image or library without having to re-import the file? I don't want to do this for every image I have, but I would like to do it for my favorites that show up on my web site. I would prefer not to lose all of the adjustments for images that I have already slaved over.

    Hello Kjell,
maybe you give gpsphotolinker a try. Before you
import your Fotos into Aperture you can manipulate
    the exif with this app.

Thanks for the tip. However, I do not shoot jpeg images, and would like a solution that supported my RAW/Aperture workflow - hopefully letting me avoid having to export my entire library out and re-importing it in again after the work is done.
Ideally, I would like a solution that would enable to to update my Aperture library from time to time using location information from a set of .gpx files, and for that to work, I would need some piece of sw that let me read out exif date/time data and compare with the same data in .gpx files and write back appropriate data when a date/time match is found.
However - not sure if Aperture would allow me to write exif data into the library at present?

  • How can I copy GPS information from one image to another?

I bought a Canon S100 specifically for its GPs and movie capability.  On a recent vacation, I used the S100 and a Nikon D300.  In cases where images were taken with both cameras in approximately the same place, I would like to copy the GPS information from the S100 CR2 files to the D300 NEF files.  Does anyone know how to do this or if there is any plugins that will do it?

The added benefit of using GeoSetter to copy the information from one photo to another, is that you can see where every already-tagged photo is on a Google map to make sure the location is actually correct.  Sometimes the camera clock is off a few seconds or minutes and you can easily figure how what offset to use by watching where the existing photos show on the map.
Using the MS Pro Photo Tools to generate a track from the existing S100 photos and then using that track in GeoSetter to assign the rest, with interpolation enabled, seems like the best course of action if the S100 track information is no longer available.
When using an external program to Geotag images that are already in LR, to be safe you should first save all the metadata to XMP files in the folder you’re going to tag, then exit LR, then geotag the photos, then restart LR and read information from all the XMP files.
Another benefit of GeoSetter is that you can assign the locality information to the photos that already have just coordinates in them.

  • Can I copy all info from 1 contact in Addressbook?

This is really an Addressbook question more than specific to Addressbook  on just my iPad, but having an iPad orig w/ iOS 5 may be the problem...
I want to copy all data from all fields from a single contact in Adressbook to paste the entire contact info somewhere else.
All I seem to be able to do is copy a field or section of fields at a time. Paste and return to the contact to copy the next bit of data
But no select all fields, copy, and paste.
    Thanks
    Steve

I completely agree with your problem.
I worked on an application with partitioned tables as well (also started with des2000),
and even for a few tables defining the partitions is a hell of a job, especially for the indexes.
When having equipartitioned tables it is very desirable to copy partitioning from one table (and indexes) to another.
I recommend to write a utility based on the repository API for it. That may seem some work, but once you have written such a utility you can easily write more of them, and it will save you a lot of time later on.
I am currently writing utilities for similar tasks.

  • Lightroom 5.7.1 Lens Corrections chooses wrong lens info from EXIF when I 'Enable Profile Corrections'. Windows 7

When I enable lens corrections on a jpg image it brings up the wrong lens info. If I try to change it there are only 2 lenses listed—neither one is correct. It lists a 50mm lens even though in the Histogram just above it says 18mm. I then tried the original DNG image & it chooses the correct lens automatically. Both the jpg & DNG image EXIF info show an 18mm lens, which is correct, but Lr doesn't read the jpg info correctly. The problem is the same on all the images I've tried so far.

Most Adobe-supplied lens profiles are for raw files only.  Since there are very few JPG lens profiles LR is probably just choosing the closest one it has which isn’t anywhere close to the right lens.
The reason raw and jpgs have separate lens profiles is because cameras apply lens corrections when they produce JPGs and it would be inappropriate for LR to apply a lens profile when the camera already has, so LR refrains.  If you are sure that your camera has not applied any corrections then you can hack a raw lens profile into a jpg lens profile by text-editing a copy of the .lcp file that comes with LR, and changing the raw designation from true to false inside the file for each profile segment, then move this edited copy to the users profile area.  You might also find the JPG version of the profile using the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader available via a search at adobe.com.

  • Copy file info from "Get Info" inspector window

    Hello,
I need to find a way to copy the file info, mostly the file size in bytes, on selected files.
Does anyone know if there is a way to do this in Automator? I can't seem to find it if there is.
    Thanks.

Don't know about automator, but this AppleScript returns the size in bytes of a chosen file.
    *tell application "Finder"*
    *     choose file*
    *     set x to data size of file result*
    *end tell*

  • How can I copy some info from one contact to another?

If I have, for example, 4 people who live in the same address, how can I get all the address fields from one contact and copy to the others?
    Tks

You can duplicate an address card by copying and pasting.
Select an address card in the Address Book window.
Choose Edit > Copy, then choose Edit > Paste.
Then edit the names and other details or set up the 4 cards and copy and paste each field as required

  • Copying Banking info from Header to Site using RA_CUSTOMER_BANKS_INT_ALL

    Hi guys
I wonder if you can help me. We're using Oracle R11.5.10, and in AR, my client has all the customer banking detaills sitting at Header Level and he wants to copy them to Site Level (Bill_To_Site). I've tried entering banking details at Bill_To_Site using RA_CUSTOMER_BANKS_INT_ALL. But when I run the import program(Customer Interface), I get the following error: "Bank and branch name already exists". I can understand that I'm getting this error because the bank already exist at Header Level. But how do I create it at Site Level because there is no provision for this on the RA_CUSTOMER_BANKS_INT_ALL. How do I specify on RA_CUSTOMER_BANKS_INT_ALL that the bank I'm creating must be at Bill_To_Site and not at Header?
Thank you for all your help.

Please apply patch 4649221 to get this work.

  • Photoshop Elements 10 not importing GPS data from xmp file

PSE 10 is not importing GPS information from the xmp file. Lightroom correctly records the
GPS data but this info in not brought in when I add the photo to the PSE 10 catalog.  Has anyone experienced
    the same problem?

The Google map module and geotagging have only just been added to LR4, released this week. There is no longer a map feature in Elements since Adobe dropped the earlier tie-up with Yahoo. Adobe reserves the right to change and amend partner services and this has disappointed many users of previous versions of PSE. It’s possible that the map could be re-introduced into future versions of PSE but don’t count on it and given the significant price cut on LR4, the decision could be strategic.

How can I copy all the info from a contact card in address book to paste into a documnent?

You can do that in FCPX too, as all the things you cited are listed separately in the inspector.
Here's a little gotcha. Let's say you've color corrected a few clips and you've applied an effect to one and want to paste it the other clips. You switch off color correction and copy the clip. You select the other clips and paste effects. What do you think happens? The effect is applied, but the color correction is applied as well, only it's switched off as it was in the first clip, so all the color correction on the other clips is lost. Fun, eh?
I'll try to replicate your gotcha - but no, that doesn't sound like fun at all!

There is no way to export Faces information.
I'm not sure why you would do this:
If I copy a folder from iPhoto on to a hard drive, then delete it from iphoto then import it again,
If space is an issue then move the whole Library to an external drive:
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
    1. Quit iPhoto
    2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
    3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
    4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

  • Is there a way to copy and paste info from an attachment on the ipad into a document or note?

I sent myself an email with an attachment to my iPad.  I want to copy and paste the info from the attachment so I can have it accessible on the iPad either as a Note or a document.  I've been able to copy the info but the Paste does not do anything.  Anyone know a better way?

When you tap and hold down on the text selection that you want to copy - are you seeing the Copy Option pop up? if so, tap on the Copy button and it should turn blue when the text has been successfully copied. Then just go into Notes - tap on the + sign to create a new note - tap and hold down on the note page until the Paste option pops up. Then tap Paste and it should paste the text onto the sheet. It works the same way anywhere that you can enter text, a Pages document, a URL field in Safari - any place that you can enter text.
When the copy or paste buttons turn blue - the command has been completed successfully.
