Copy keyword sets across libraries?

Is is possible to copy a set of keywords from one library to another? I recently created a new library and would like to copy all of my keywords from the old library to the new...
Thanks

As a new user, I figured out I can export the keywords to a plain text file that has the keywords that show in the HUD as tab indented text.
Now, I've exported a Keyword file, added new names in a text editor (Smultron) and then re-imported Keywords. Worked great. I then thought I'd take it one step further and sort my existing keywords into a logical order
Originally added in HUD before realizing I wanted them in a different order
People
Family1
Son
Dad
Daughter
Mom
Here's what I want
People
Family1
Dad
Mom
Son
Daughter
Which I was able to change in the text file, but when importing it kept them in the order as entered in the HUD. Drag/drop in the HUD didn't seem to work either. Any suggestions?

  • Copying keyworded PSDs across drives, will all the metadata be transferred?

    Hi there
I'm copying keyworded PSD files off an external firewire drive onto a desktop hard drive.
Since I spent a long time keywording and getting the copyright data sorted on them, will this be transferred over as well, or would I have to do it again?
    Many thanks!

ok turns out it did, i had to re open bridge
Keywords and metadata are saved in the file itself and when once saved to
that file they should stay present no matter how you copy your files.
Bridge needs to cache files first before showing all the info and previews.
However this should be started automatically after adding files to a folder
you have Bridge pointed to. If not use the purge cache for folder option
(Menu tools/cache/purge cache for folder option). Also the shortcut F5 (menu
View/refresh) might do the trick sometimes when bridge refuses to cache new
    files.
If this problem persists you might consider to refresh the preferences for
Bridge (hold down option key while restarting Bridge).

  • How best to copy keywords from one image to another?

    Hey everyone,
I can't seem to find a good, obvious way in Bridge CS3 2.1 to copy just the keyword tags from one image to another.
I realize that one possibility is to create a metadata template for the source image and apply that template to the destination image, but this would be a cumbersome & lame workflow IMHO.
I also realize that Bridge allows loading and viewing many images simultaneously, and that the same set of keywords can then be applied en masse. I'm sure many users like this workflow, but I'm not one of them. For one thing, this approach is seriously not future-proof. What if the user goes out and takes more photos that fit into those same keyword-categories that were applied to the image group?
It seems to me that Bridge should allow the user to right-click on the list of applied keywords (at the top of the keywords pane) and see a "copy keywords" command. And then the user should also be able to right-click on an image and see a "paste keywords" command.
    Comments appreciated,
    Thanks,
    Brad

There are many arrows in the shape tool, or you can set the line tool to have an arrowhead in the tool options. You can copy/paste layers from one image to another, or drag a layer from the layers panel into the main image window of another image and then use the move tool to position it. You can also drag into the thumbnail in the photo bin, but you'll still need to bring the image up to adjust the positioning.

  • Keyword and Keyword SETS export option

We REALLY, REALLY need a way to export complete Keyword Sets and Keywords to a file.
I now know, sadly too late, that you can copy the folders from--C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Adobe\Bridge--to someplace safe and get a backup.
    But this is hardly intuitive.

Being new to bridge, the inability to export the keyword sets is one of the first most glaring feature omissions I have found.

  • Multiple Keyword Sets (For Multiple Databases)

I work with several different Lightroom databases and it would be nice to be able to have separate sets of keywords that go with each database.
In my specific case, I use one database for my personal photographic endeavors and another for an image library for our church. The keywords tags used for my Nature photography images and the tags used for the event photography shots for church are very different. Hence, there are lots of keywords in both libraries that have zero images attached to them.
It would be very useful in you could allow multiple keyword sets to track with multiple databases.

There issues'Purge unused Keywords' option under Menu/Metadata.

  • What's the point of keyword sets?

Hi all. My first post here, so watch out - Newbie Alert. I have scoured the forums but can't really find an answer.....
What's the point of keyword sets?
I'm a convert to Lightroom from ACDSee. I have been very pleased with Lightroom in general but I'm really struggling with Keywords and Keyword Sets.
Understand where I'm coming from. I'm not sending my photos to Stock Libraries etc but I want to tag/categorise my photos so that I can find what I want quickly.
How are people using  Keywords and Keyword Sets?
A simple example - I have a "family" and some "friends".
So I created (via the contorted mechanism) a couple of keyword sets. The Family set containes the names of me, my wife and our three sons. Great - no problems. However it turns out that we have more than nine friends. Now I know geeks are often short on real world friends but this seems to be a bit of a limitation.
On the other hand It might be that I have misunderstood what sets are all about.
I have found that it is possible to nest keywords. Perhaps that is a better mechanism?
I have not found a really good tutorial on this - any pointers?
In comparison to the rest of Lightroom the keyword and keyword set manipulation side seems to be a little clunky. Yes/No?
    Roy

It's for applying  keywords which are frequently applied as alternatives, and makes use of the keyboard to make the assignment faster - hold down Alt/Opt and hit the number.
So your family set would be an ideal set. You could set up alternative sets for certain groups of keywords you often assign to a shoot. So for example, I have a weddings one, with groom, bride, etc.

  • Export keyword sets from CS2 to CS4

I've been using CS2 and have a ton of keyword sets built up. I now have CS4 and will be upgrading to CS5 at some point. How can I get those keyword sets out of CS2 and into CS4?

The keyword file is in user/app data/roaming/adobe/bridge or something like that.  Belive you can copy and paste.

  • Keyword Sets

I am still assessing whether Lightroom will be the right program for me - I got fed up with Beta but now i really do need to add keywords to everything and CS2/3 is not very easy to use. I have Lightroom set up on my desktop (Power Mac G5) and I am quite impressed with it . The next test is putting it on my laptop to see how it works on a slower machine and when i am in "the field".
I backed up keywords and imported them into the laptop (Powerbook G4 with 2gb RAM) but the keyword sets did not come through. Apart from keying them all in, and I have set up quite a few, how can i get them across?
    Frances

I decided to delve into the Library as I knew the metadata sets had to be somewhere and I found them. If anyone else uses metadata sets to help with keywording and wants to transfer them or even just back them up and like me uses Mac OS 10.4 then go to your home folder Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom. You'll find all sorts of presets including any print templates you have set up, metadata presets etc.

  • Exporting Keyword sets

Is it possible to export Keyword sets from one computer and import them in Lightroom on another?

    Jens,
If I understand you correctly, you're looking for a transfer of the keword sets, and not the keywords present in the list.
The keyword sets are stored in the LR presets folder (on Windows this is "%appdata%\Adobe\Lightroom\Keyword Sets". You can copy them from one computer into the same folder on another computer.
An alternative would be to choose "Store Presets with Catalog", but this has further implications (see here).

  • Unable to set Across Organisation in Inventory serial control?

    Hi,
First of all I am explaining my enterprise structure for your reference please:
    Busines Group - One (BG1)
    Operating Unit - Two (OU1, OU2)
OU1: has one Item Master Org (IM1) and two Inventory Org's (INV1, INV2) - having Item and some serial numbers available.
OU2: has one Item Master Org (IM2) and one Inventory Org (INV3) - No Item and No serial numbers available.
    My Problem is:
I am trying to set "Across Organisation" uniqueness option under Organisation parametes of IM2 & INV3. but its not allowing.
I am getting warning always "There are some serial numbers already violate...update not allowed".
For testing this "Across Organisation" what is the eligible condition?
please let me know. thank you in advance.

Please see if (Change Setup in order to get unique asset numbers, error APP-INV-05579 [ID 738039.1]) helps.

  • How to copy keywords from one image to many in Bridge CS6 (workaround)

I see a few questions about how to do this, but I didn't see this workaround (maybe it's even the workflow Adobe had in mind). Hope it helps others searching for this.
To copy keywords from one photo, and then apply the same keywords to many, in Bridge CS6:
Select one image that has the keywords you want to copy.
    Right-click and choose File Info...
On the IPTC tab, scroll down to find the Keywords field. Select and copy the keywords you want (probably all).
Click Cancel to exit without making accidental changes.
Select the files you want to add the keywords to.
    Right-click and choose File Info...
On the IPTC tab, scroll down to find the Keywords field.
Click in it and paste your copied keywords.
Click OK. Keywords are applied to all files. (NOTE: I think this replaces keywords, rather than adding to them).
    I'm using CS6 on OS X 10.6.8.

    Sara,
Why wouldn't you just use a Windows .bat file with xcopy statements?  You could even schedule it to run with the Windows task scheduler.

  • Newspaper style report (multiple column sets across the page)

    Hello,
I have an Answers report that displays the "top 20" and has only 2 narrow columns (name and total). So in the dashboard it looks like a long vertical strip:
    aaa 999
    aaa 999
    aaa 999
    aaa 999
It would look much nicer if it was a "newspaper style", where you have more than one column set across the page:
    aaa 999 | aaa 999
    aaa 999 | aaa 999
    aaa 999 | aaa 999
Is this possible to be done using OBI EE? I searched for a "newspaper style" checkbox in the report properties (hoping that it would be that easy) but no luck... I couldnt find any posts in this forum either, maybe I am using the wrong terminology.
    Thanks
    Luis

    Hi Luis,
yes, this is possible by using a pivot table. assuming you want 10 records per column, you need to do the following:
    1) add a column to your report with this formula:
    RCOUNT(Column) - 10 * FLOOR((RCOUNT(Column) - 1) / 10)
    2) add another column to your report with this formula:
    FLOOR((RCOUNT(Column) -1) / 10)
    3) go to pivot table
    4) add column 1) to Rows Section
    5) add column 2) to columns section
    6) add the other columns in measures box
    7) add aggregation rule to "FIRST" for all columns in measures box
    8) put measure label box in rows section under the box of column 2)

  • How to use a set of libraries?

    Hi!
Anybody knows how to use a set of libraries in a conexion to an AS/400 server? I use the code to connect:
conexion = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:as400://"+sistema+";libraries=LOGI", id,pass);but I need to use other files that there aren't in LOGI library. How could I put different libraries, for example, LOGI, COFAFIAL, etc?
    Thanks a lot!

Thank you for your response, but the separation with commas or spaces
doesn't work. It always takes the first library in the set (in your example LOGI).
Also, I doesn't have any doc subdirectory in the toolbox folder. I'm using V4R3, and the toolbox folder is in QIBM/ProdData/HTTP/Public/jt400, but any doc subdirectory in it.
Is there any way you can send me this file or other place I could get it?
    Thanks a lot!

  • Copy user setting

    Hi,
I used this query for copy user setting from Manager to all other users. This query running successfully but problem is this all the setting is copied but manager user lost all settings i.e all udf's come under general category which is previously distributed to different category. Which is fine for rest of the users.

  • Single result set across multiple tables

Hi - what's the best way to perform a single query that can pull
a single result set across multiple tables, ie., a master table
containing subject details and child table containing multiple
    records with detail.
I know how to do this for two columns in the same table via
indexing, but how about across tables?
    Cheers,
    John

I am not sure if I understood your question, but you can use
Intermedia Text with USER_DATA_STORE to create an index with data
    source from multiple tables.
