Copy Local Formula

Hi Gurus,
I have the following doubt:
I have created a formula at the query level (local), and i want to know if i can copy that formula to the InfoProvider Level (global)
Thanks in advanced

globally means..as calculated KF? then it is not possible to convert a formula(local) as global formula(CKF)......You have to go for New Calculated Keyfigure using the same formula.
Hope this helps.

    Hi gurus,
Their is an error comming up on a report which is  opened in Bex Analyzer. When we create local formula i encounter this error.
    It says"

Not sure of why this error is comming up.
DO we need to update a OSS note for this.

  • Report Painter - Use of Constants / Local Formula Variable

    Hi,
I am using constant and/or local formula variable in report painter in FSI.
I could use both the values for calculating percentages, ie. it can be used for multiplication or division. However, when I try to use it for addition or subtraction, I am getting the error message no. KH206.
In all cases, I am using different values in the formula, i.e. a absolute figure and a GL based figure.
I am not able to understand, why it even allows me for calculating percentage.
Can anyone help me in using a absolute figure for input and thereafter use it in addition / subtraction.
I would prefer an immediate solution to this as I am in the final stages of this report.
    Full points guaranteed.....

    Hi Kash,
    Thanks for your reply..
Can you elaborate bit further. You mean to say I should create a Constant with some value.
Thereafter how should I bring that in the form. But, How do I enter the Constant in the Formula... There is no key for entering any text in the formula.. there are only ID (the values which we bring in the form and which can be selected for the formula) and numbers which can be entered.
So how do I enter the name of the Constant?
I tried just keying in the name of the Constant, and I could check the formula also, However, while saving the form, I am getting an error,
Element WCaplimit Bis letztem ATag bis &$BISD is not defined correctly -> check definition
    Message no. KH206
    Diagnosis
In element WCaplimit Bis letztem ATag bis &$BISD the system adds quantities and values or different currencies.
Can you please revert back with step by step solution?
    Appreciate your prompt reply.... Thanks

  • How can I copy a formula to 1,000 contiguous cells in a column?

How can I copy a formula to 1,000 contiguous cells in a column?

As long as the cell uses "relative" forumla, I usually take an intelligent brute force effect:
    Copy 1 to another, copy the 2 to 4, 4 to 8, 8 to 16, 16 to 32, 32 to 64, 64 10 128, 128 to 256 3 times over.
Does not take as long as one would think, and is a controllable process.

  • Replacement Path Problem (Use in Local Formula or CKF?)

    Hello BW Experts,
I have a couple of questions for a query I am currently working on that uses replacement path variables.
    I am looking to calculate the difference between 2 dates (u201Ctodays dateu201D u2013 u201Cstatistics dateu201D)
The statistics date is a characteristic in the cube and for u201Ctodays dateu201D I am using a local formula using the SAP replacement path variable for todays date.
Currently I am using the replacement path in a local formula in the columns of the query and this is fine when the reference characteristic is in the querry rows i.e statistics date.
I believe the reference characteristic needs to be in the rows when using a formula variable replacement path in a local formula in the columns as if I remove the u201Cstatistics dateu201D from the rows the replacement path does not work.
The actual query specification requires the u201Cstatistics dateu201D to be a u201Cfree characteristicu201D not part of the rows so the replacement path using a local formula will not work if the u201Cstatistics dateu201D is in the u201Cfree characteristicsu201D
I have also tried using a CKF and using the same formula variable in this but it still did not work with the u201Cstatistics dateu201D in the rows?
Do you know of any solution?
Also could somebody explain what "Characteristic Reference (Constant 1)" means?
    Thanks in advance..
    Steve

    Hi Steve,
I think you are right in infering that the replacement path wouldnt work if you didnt have the reference characteristic key in the rows to enable the replacement.
I think, the solution for you could be Virtual Characteritic.
Have you already thought about this?
I am not aware about the characteristic reference(constant).

  • Local formula created in web analyzer not reflected in bex analyzer.

    Hello all,
I had created a Local formula in the web analyzer and saved the query as a view. Now, when I open the same view in
bex analyzer then I cannot find the local formula column; i.e. it is not reflected in the bex analyzer.
Is this an error or this is not possible?
    Thanks in advance,
    Sandy.

    Hello Sandy,
If you create the formulo at the web analyzer you will not be able to see it at the bex analyzer. Only if you create at the query designer, so you will be able to see it at the web and bex analyzer.

  • Local formula in query view

    Dear all,
I create query view in bex analyzer.
when I create the query view, I add local formula.
I use the query view in WAD.
The problem is when I run the WAD, my local formula is gone.
is there a setting to show my local formula in WAD ?
    please advice
    Regards,
    -Dedys

    Hi,
There is no seeting as such in WAD.
Just check that you are includeing the correct query view.
I would suggest just close your query designer after saving the changes in view.
After that open the WAD and include the query view again as data provider. It will show the current save version of view.
Some times while including in WAD it picks up the last version of object. SO just try this once.
    I hope it will help.
    Thanks,

  • Information Broadcasting Excel Workbooks with Local Formulas

We are attempting to use information broadcasting to send out reports that use the v7 BEX "convert to local formula" feature in order to reformat the reports.  We can execute the reports, and even save them to a local client and review them later when disconnected from the server.    However, if we use information broadcasting to send these Excel files out as attachments, the users are unable to see the data unless they connect and refresh, defeating our entire purpose of putting the data in excel.
Has anyone else attempted to Information Broadcast BEX Excel workbooks while using the Local Formula mode provided with v7?  Were you successful?

Yes, I see some information in the precalc log, but nothing that seems to be wrong:

  • Copying VLOOKUP formula now results in a reference error

    Hi all
I am using VLOOKUP to calculate students' grades based on their marks which I have input into one table. The lookup cells are in a separate table on the same page. I can get the formula to work fine but when I try to copy it to the following cells in that column either by copy/paste or by dragging the yellow handle I now get a #REF error instead of the correct table. This means I now have to type the formula in every single cell.
Surely this can't be the easiest way! It used to work fine in the old version of Numbers which I can't go back to as I have updated the spreadsheets to work in iCloud.
I'm using Version 3.01 on a MBP running OS X Mavericks.
Any thoughts much appreciated. Otherwise I will have to give up and head over to Excel where I know it works fine.
    Thanks
    Kevin

    Hi Wayne
the formula I've been using is (for example)
    VLOOKUP(A4,Grade Lookup::A2:B10,2,1)
Grade Lookup is the table name and the A2:B10 range is the cells where it should look for the number in the A column and return the answer from the B column.
    Thanks!!

  • Calculated key figures Vs local formula

    HI,
I am having 4 queries on a cube.
i am now using calculated key figures instead of local formulae.
I want to know "which is better in performance wise/ or may be pros and cons of using each one."
    Can any one clarify me.
    I know that
1.when we select the option Calculation after aggregation will improve performance.
2.we can do some more things only with Cal. Key Figs using formula variable.
Here my concern is not that.
I am concerned about general case like -
i have to add, multiply or divide some direct key figures and use some data functions like nodim, NDIV0 functions.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Raghu

    Hi Raghu,
Formulas cannot be directly reused, but if they are saved to a global structure, then the structure may be reused. If you are creating a calculation that will be widely used, it is best to create it as global...this helps a lot when you need to revisit the definition, and make changes as one chnage is reflected in all queries.
However, there are some functions like SUMCT, SUMGT, SUMRT, %CT, %GT, %RT which are available only to the formulas (local), so if you need to use them, you cannot use a CKF.
In addition to the differences, A formula can only work on other formulas/selections already in your query (in the same structure as your new formula), while a calculated key figure can only work on other key figures, calculated key figures or restricted key figures. However both can use formula variables.
CKF are calculated at the time of loading data.
Your Formula calculates at the time of running the query.
    Hope this helps...

    Yokesh.

  • When calling a function in a shared library, are parameters copied locally?

I have a shared library with a function whose header is:
    void __cdecl nextevent(double Input[], int32_t len);
When called it sends the values in Input[] to the control Input:
This vi is compiled to a DLL which uses the header above.
My question now is: Which of these operations is the correct one:
    1. The Input control is a reference to the array Input[], no values are copied.
    2. The values in the array Input[] are copied to the control Input, the local copy is used by the vi, then the values in the local copy are removed/deallocated.
It seems reasonable to me that 1 is the correct one, but I can't be sure, and I can't think of any way to check it.

For this particular case option 2 is valid. The reason is that LabVIEW arrays are not just pointers to a memory location but handles. And there is no legal way to create valid LabVIEW handles from an C runtime allocated memory pointer. So LabVIEW converts the incoming array pointer into a handle which is basically nothing else than allocating the handle with a size large enough to  hold all array data, and then copies the data from the array pointer into this handle. After the call, the handle is properly deallocated.

  • EvDRE - SortRange - AfterRange - Copy Excel formula

    Hi all,
In BPC NW 7.5 SP04 I have performed the following actions:
I have sorted the EvDRE based on some column and added an AfterRange parameter.
In the AfterRange cells I have entered various Excel formulas as well as evsub.
The system would copy the Excel formulas to the line with the EV_AFTER and the copy was like standard Excel.
e.g. - In the AfterRange I would specify cell B2. in B2 I would write the formula A1B1.
When the EvDRE would run, assume that the after range had to be in cell E16, The value of E16 would be the result of the formula D15+E15.
This year we have upgraded to SP06. This functionality stopped working. I tackle 2 situations:
    1. If the cell is defined in general format - the system simply copies the result of the formula. In the example above if A1+B1 is 0, I would simply get 0 all over (copy the value and not the formula).
    2. If the cell is defined as TEXT in Excel, the original formula is copied (i.e. in the example above all cells would have the formula A1+B1).
    evsub works as it should.
Any idea why did this happen? is there a note? does the system now works as it should and I simply enjoyed a bug in SP04?
    Thanks,
    Avihay

    Hi Ethan,
I have Accounts in Rows and Time in columns. Range E24:E26 is in AfterRange filed on column expansion. 'E24:E26' range adds prior 2 time columns. I want to display this summation on a particular condition, say only if cell D11 = 1. So I wrote a formula in AfterRange field in Column expansion: =IF(D11=1,"E24:E26","") .
This formula in AfterRage field doesn't work. But if I manually type value 'E24:E26' in that field, it correctly adds up prious 2 time periods. I think the issue is with formatting.
    Thanks, John

  • Microsoft.ApplicationServer.Caching.AzureClientHelper.dll in Caching 2.3.1.0 can not be copied locally

There is a problem with Microsoft.ApplicationServer.Caching.AzureClientHelper.dl.
    Here is the problem :
I have Web assembly which does not use caching. Caching is used by other assembly and it is in another assembly. But the config is in web. Caching nuget package is added in Services assembly and all the implementations and usages go there.
At the end everything must be copied to Web/bin for the app to load all of its dependencies. The problem is here - Settings CopyLocal = True for Microsoft.ApplicationServer.Caching.AzureClientHelper.dll in Service assembly copies it locally to the Service/bin/Debug
but not in Web/bin because I do not reference it in Web assembly.
The problem could be solved easily with a type variable somewhere but the problem is that all the types of this assembly are internal.
    Any proposal to solve this?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
From my experience, we could use startup task to do this, startup tasks are actions that are taken before your roles begin, we could copy the dll file to the folder where we want to. see more details at:
