Copy movie to dvd

can you upload movie to dvd?

Once you've exported to the media browser, close imovie and open iDVD. Depending on how you open iDVD the media browser may hit you in the face or you might have to hit the media tab to unveil it.

  • Copy Movies to DVD

I read that DRM will not allow copying a purchased movie to a DVD. How is it planned to store the purchased material? Seems like a HD would soon be filled up with movies. I wonder if it is ok to save them as a digital file on a DVD disk rather than as a playable movie.

No, it is not a stupid concern as I don't know the
answer from first hand experience. I haven't
downloaded a movie so I'm not sure what file format
it is. Maybe you can answer the format question.
What is the extension on the downloaded file? Is it
.mov? Is the copied file the same, which I assume
it is. Does the downloaded file play in the DVD
player or does it play as a QT movie? If the copy
has the same format, then I would assume when you
re-loaded it on your HD from DVD data disc it would
also play either as QT movie or as a DVD.
I'll be interested to hear your answer.
When I clicked on the DVD icon, iTunes opened, and asked me if I wished to "restore" this film. A copy of the film was then written to iTunes with a .m4v extension, and placed in the movies library. File then seemed to behave exactly as the original download.

  • IMovie 10.2 - copy move to DVD

I've created my iMovie, and want to play this via iDVD. With 10.2, I don't see a way to create a DVD using iDVD -- like I was able to do about two years ago.  V 10.2 seems to have taken that capability away, or what am I missing?

To burn a DVD with iDVD from the latest version of iMovie, you have to export the movie using the Export button and select 480p as the size. Open iDVD and start a new project, then drag that exported movie file into the iDVD menu window, avoiding any drop zones you see.

  • How to copy Quicktime Movie to DVD

I took some movie clips on a Nikon L4 camera and saved them to my HP Pavillion as Quicktime movies. I would like to copy them to DVD to play on my DVD player. Can I do this and if so how? Do I need Quictime Pro?
HP Pavillion a1600n   Windows XP   using Nikon Coolpix L4

You will need third-party software that can create a video DVD (QuickTime Pro will not create a video DVD). I'm sure if you search the net for something like "Windows video DVD create" you'll come across numerous such products. You'll need to make sure that any product you choose can import QuickTime movies, or get conversion software that can convert a QuickTime movie to a format your DVD application can handle (QuickTime Pro might do this, but you'd probably find freeware apps that could also do the conversion).

  • What's a safe DVD ripper to make copy of personal DVD movie and other movies?

What's a safe DVD ripper to make copy of personal DVD movie and then make a copy to another blank DVD?

The easiest way is to use Disk Utility to create a disk image of the DVD; you can then burn that to a blank DVD (and indeed play it using the DVD player).
Insert your DVD. Open Disk Utility and select it in the sidebar (the disk itself, not the drive it's in.) Click 'New Image' in the toolbar.
In the dialog box which opens set 'Image Format' to 'DVD/CD Master' and 'Encryption' to 'none'. This will make an exact copy without re-compressing.
Obviously this will not work on a commercially issued DVD, only on ones you make yourself or which are not DRM protected.

  • HT204370 Can movies obtained via 'digital copy' with a DVD purchase be downloaded again for free if the movie is deleted from the source downloaded to?

Can movies obtained via 'digital copy' with a DVD purchase be downloaded again for free if the movie is deleted from the source (e.g., Macbook Pro) downloaded to?

I'm running Windows 7 RC on my iMac. This was downloaded from Technet when it was available. The disk image I downloaded was then burned to a DVD-RW for the installation.

  • Copying Movie DVD

I wish to take a movie DVD  or a Movie BluRay and copy this onto my hard drive… subsequently I want to do the following:
1   Make a complete DVD copy for my own private usage. I am NOT interested in doing anything illegal and my understanding is that in EU it is allowed to copy a DVD for your own usage.
2   Have the ability to build a large DVD library on a very large HDD (several cascaded together) so that I can use this for my home cinema and put the original DVD's (and the backup) in a box somewhere.
3   I want to be able to select  short amount of video / sound track and have that in a format that I can import to Premier Pro (AVI etc)
Does anyone have any suggestions how to do this? Which software do I need to buy or download that achieves the above with 1:1 quality (ie no compression) and removes any encryption in the process.
    Many thanks
    regards

    Hi
I have read the Terms of Use and do NOT see a conflict.…ould you clarify.
I assume that the concern is about the legal position  with respect to encryption, and copyright laws etc. I believe that in Europe we are permitted to make a backup copy of a DVD and place this on a HDD. Also I believe that I can use for personal use on my Mac parts of a movie video as I have legally bought the right to view the movie albeit within the home environment with my family, which is all that I wish to do.
    Thanks for clarification.

  • Copying an I-DVD Movie

I made an I-DVD and then missed my "window" to make a copy.  Can anyone tell me the best way to do this?  Will I then be able to show this on my TV?  Thanks much.

To create an image file, launch Disk Utility and select File: New: Disk Image From Folder. In the window that appears, navigate to the desired folder and then click on Image. Give the image file a name, and click on Save when prompted. That’s it.
Or, if you have Roxio Toast, just use the copy function.

  • Is it possible to export Final Cut Pro X or .MOV to DVD Studio Pro (Final Cut Studio)?

Is it possible to export Final Cut Pro X projects or .MOV to DVD Studio Pro (from Final Cut Studio v.3)? I'm using the free trial of Final Cut Pro X and later acquired a copy of Final Cut Studio (FCP 7, Compressor 3.5, DVD Studio Pro 4, Color 1.5, Motion 4, Soundtrack Pro 2).
I don't like the default DVD export in FCPX, so I would like to do it on DVD Studio Pro. Is it possible to export the project or the final .MOV file to DVD Studio Pro?
Additionally, can I use unfinished FCPX projects on FCP7?
Is it possible to export from FCPX to Compressor 3.5 (Final Cut Studio)?
Feedback would be greatly appreciated. As of this post, I have about 13 days left on my FCPX trial. Or would it just make sense to just use Final Cut Pro 7, since I have a permanent copy of it?
    Thank you.
P.S. Where would be the best place to store projects or any other file related to Final Cut Studio or Final Cut Pro X? My MacBook Pro has 320GB built in storage (only 60GB available), and I have a 1TB external hard drive.
What is best to store on the Macintosh internal hard drive?
What is best to store on the external hard drive?

Yes you can make DVDs in DVDSP using video exported from FCPX.
There are some apps that will translate between X and 7- that said I would highly recommend not going back and forth as the translations are not 1:1 perfect.
I would recommend storing all Events and Projects on the External drive.
Compressor 3.5 will not accept exports directly from FCPX- you'll need Compressor 4 which is $49.
Totally up to you whether you want to make the jump to X. 7 is an EOL'ed program, meaning there will not be another version of that application. Final Cut Pro X is the version being actively developed now.

  • Burning movies to DVD from iTunes

I have a few dozen movies in my iTunes library that I have acquired from various sources - ripping from disc or copying from an external hard drive. I wish to burn all these movies to DVD to free up space on my computer. I have tried burning the movies with iTunes but my DVD player will not read the disc. It gives me a message saying, "There is no video or audio data." What should I do?

    ErinGillaim wrote:
It may caused by the video codec which are not recognized by your DVD Player.
It's not. iTunes does not burn a regular, playable DVD.
In this case, you can use some third party DVD burning tool to rip iTunes movies to DVD.
Rip means to get eth info off a CD/DVD.
Burn means to create a CD/DVD (because the disc is burned with the laser).

  • Uploading movie from DVD to my hard drive

I have a movie on DVD that I want to put onto my hard drive.
How do I take it from the disc to the hard drive on my computer.
    I am using Nero 12.

All legit DRM compliant CD/DVD/Bluray software such as Nero, are incapable of "ripping" commerially made, copy protected movies. Bypassing copy protection is beyond the scope of this forum and will not be discussed.
Please see the Nero 12 Support Knowledge Base or the Official Nero Forum for information on using your Nero product.

  • I loaded a digital copy of a dvd which I bought to the itunes library.  It shows in the Library on the computer, but how do I get it on the Ipad?  Help!!!

Not sure if I am doing this correct.  I uploaded a digital copy of a DVD movie to the itunes library.  How do I get it to the Ipad?  Please help, I have been trying for over an hour.  Thank you.  Garry

Select the movie to sync (click in box next to the name) in the movies tab in iTunes while your iPad is connected to your computer, with iTunes running and then sync the movie to the iPad.
Make sure you are using the correct iTunes account when you sync as well and that you have authorized your computer.

  • Copying a DL DVD

about a year ago I created a DVD of some home movies onto a DL + R DVD. I no longer have the project files and I just wanted to make a copy of the DVD. So, I dragged the contents of the DVD over to my computer and then created a Burn Folder to burn those contents onto to another DL + R DVD.
I am assuming that this is a possible work flow- someone correct me if I'm wrong.
However, when I click Burn, it allows me to name the disc, but then I get an error message saying that the disc could not be used because the disc drive is not supported. I'm using the same computer with the same disc drive that this DVD was created on, so I"m confused.
    Suggestions please....

I've purchased a movie with iTunes and I don't want to hook up my computer to the TV screen every time I want to watch it. Is there some way to burn the movie to DVD or to convert it to a burnable format?

No, they can only be copied to a DVD for backup purposes, you won't be able to play them on a DVD player.
