The iTunes Store doesn't sell DVDs. Video content sold by the iTunes Store can be back up to a DVD but not burned to a DVD that can be played on a regular DVD player.
There simply must be someone out there to help me with a method and means to get my music DVD onto my Ipod, as this is very important to me.

Sure, just use Handbrake to encode the DVD movie into a format that is playable on iTunes and on your iPad:

Once the encoding is complete, move the movie file from your desktop into iTunes and then sync your iPad. Presto, the movie is on your iPad!

Thank you for your reply. I finally figured out that I needed to use the disk utility and erase using the MS-DOS (FAT) option and making sure there were no other partitions. Then I simply used finder to tag music in my iTunes library and drag them to my USB drive. Most of my music is MP3 although my Kenwood will read several formats.

I have been using iTunes together with my iPad for a while now. My partner has recently bought his own iPad, has opened an iTunes account and set it up on his user account on the same PC that I use. Although he has put some of his favourite music in his iTunes, he is interested in listening to some (but not all) of the music I have on my iTunes account. No. All store purchases remain tied to the account they were bought with. You can however authorize your new computer for the existing account and then make new purchases on a new account. However with apps from two accounts you'll need to sign in & out of each account to authorize the updates. For the moment I'm treating my account as a family account even though two of my children have left home and we all make purchases on the one account, but they have to check with me first.

Problems during copying music files from iTunes 10.6.1 to iPhone

1st problem
In new iTunes 10.6.1 on my MBP when copying music on iPhone if during copying add additional musical files in queue, copying of files from the previous queue stops. In the previous iTunes version of such problem didn't arise. Whether there is a solution of this problem?
2nd problem
In older version of iTunes i could adding new music files to my iphone with drag and drop from Finder. Now i must add files in iTunes library and then from library drag and drop files to iphone. How to solve this problem?

You would have to purchase 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and install it, assuming your computer is compatible.

Copying Music Files and iTunes Playlists Onto New Computer

I just received my new MacBook Pro and am going to need to copy my music files, iTunes playlists, etc. from my existing PC to my new MacBook Pro. Can anyone recommend some good/definitive articles or posts on how to do this seamlessly?
One thing I should note is that while I keep a lot of my music in my iTunes folder, I also keep a lot of it in other folders on my hard drive, and I'd strongly prefer to maintain this file organization. I'm hoping this won't cause any issues with the transition. I also really, really, really hope I'm able to cleanly transition my playlists without having to manually recreate anything, as I have hundreds of playlists that I've spent literally thousands of hours curating!

if i were you, i would move my complete library to the Mac first. you can easily move content to different locations later on. please post back if you want to know more.
my reasons are these:
1) as the articles i linked above outline, it is not as simple as +drag & drop+ if you want to retain playlists, ratings, etc. when making the move from winsloth to Mac. check this thread for possible problems: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=11495714#11495714.
2) it is generally better to let iTunes do the moving of files. if you do his manually, chances are iTunes will lose track of their location.

I was wondering if I could copy the music files on my ipod to my new computer. The only catch, however, is that I did not put them in a folder and put them on the ipod to transfer to my new computer. You might try Audacity. It will, I believe, allow you to record the sound output of your computer. This is legal as far as I know (the so-called "analog loophole") as it doesn't involve breaking the encryption. It is a bit of a pain but it should work.

I have the same problem. I think that someone tried my iphone before me because when I want to reset it, I'm invited to enter a password that I didn't set. Also, when I go the Map application, the iphone indicate that I'm locateded in China while I'm in Tunisia. Now, I can't connect to my iphone to itunes, and I can't reset it because it ask me to enter a password that I didn't set.

How can I copy music from iTunes to a 2nd iPhone 5?

I have my own iPhone 5 that i have synced and set up with my itunes on my macbook pro. My wife recently got an iphone 5 (thru her work) that i want to copy music from my itunes library to her phone. We share the same itunes acct and she is able to make purchases with it and download songs that i have purchased via itunes to her phone. I would like to manage and copy over addiontal music (most of which i had bought on my own and imported into itunes) and copy playlists etc to her phone.
She has not synced her phone to my (or any) computer. When i hook up her iphone to my macbook and open itunes, it prompts me to "set up new iphone" either as a brand new phone or from a backup. can i get around this, so i can manage the music on her iphone without deleting and "setting up from scratch her phone"? I have read that i can manually manage everything on her phone separately from my phone... so her apps aren't on my phone and vice versa? I really just want to put my music on there.
I have heard of some other apps (ie songbird) but prefer to keep everything working under itunes.

Not brand new... New to that Mac's iTunes. For registration if you will...
Setup the iPhone as a new device to get past the initial part. iTunes will know that the device is already set up and you can go from there.

How do I stop iTunes from copying my music to the iTunes music file?

We have an Intel iMac running Tiger with a 146 GB hard drive, so imagine my shock when I discovered that we only had 2gb of space left! We are a family and have 5 users with 5 different iTunes libraries on each of our log ins. So I made a Shared Music folder for all our music that we could take songs from. I worked out that iTunes copies any music that you have into a new folder, meaning that we had 6 times the music we needed. So instead of 10gb of music in one Shared Music folder that I created, there was 60 gb of mostly copies.
So how do I make it so that we only have one folder with our music in, rather than 5 with 6 copies of the songs that we don't need?
Basically, I want to stop it from creating the iTunes music folder.

Turn off the option to automatically copy music to the iTunes music folder in the Advanced section of the iTunes preferences, place all the music in a shared location, and create new libraries as needed.
