Copy new .pdf files to desktop

How do I copy one of the new .pdf files I've just converted to .pdf to my desktop?

Hi whatcriteria,
After you sign in to Create pdf service, you will see the list of pdf files you converted.
Each pdf file is a link which on being clicked opens the pdf within the page. On the top right corner of the page you will find the icon as specified in the screenshot below to download the file.
You can click on the icon to download the converted pdf file.

  • Opening pdf in browser leaves copy of pdf file on desktop

Guess I'm having a "bald moment" (never was blond).... Whenever I open a pdf file in a browser (Safari or Firefox) a copy of the pdf file is actually downloaded to my desktop. If I am updating my online bank accounts this leaves dozens of files cluttering the desktop that I have to later delete. I have not been able to figure out how to change this behavior. Any suggestions?
    thanks

"How about browser preferences? are you using 10.4.8? that would mean over two years without updates."
There's nothing I can find in the browser prefs that affects this behavior. I'm running 10.5.7 of OSX.
"Are you using Acrobat? latest 9.1+? a browser plug-in? to view pdfs?"
Firefox launches Acrobat to open pdfs. I have the latest version the Acrobat reader. Safari uses Preview.
"I'm not surprised a file is saved to disk. But does the browser delete temp files on quit or closing?"
Actually, I am quite surprised that a copy of a pdf opened via a browser is left lying around. This is bad behavior.
There is no temp file. Immediately upon clicking the url and the pdf file opening, there is a copy of the file on the desktop.
"Other things to try: backup your system (clone, so it is bootable) and repair the drive and permissions with SuperDuper and Disk Warrior. Just to be sure you have backup, and that it is working properly."
I don't really get the fixation on these forums with repairing permissions. It is unlikely to fix anything other that an app that will not run or that cannot access one of its supporting files. I've used Macs since they came into existence and have worked with UNIX almost as long. I have NEVER seen a problem fixed by repairing permissions and have never seen permissions actually repaired except after a software install. And that is a symptom of a poorly designed installer. Sorry to rant.
    Thanks for the reply.

  • Can not see pdf file on desktop

when i saving from word to pdf on my windows 7 desktop is not on the desktop, but when i search for the file an check the file location it show it's on desktop can any one help me to solve this problem

    Hi,
How about other files? or this issue only happens on the PDF? have you tried to manually copy a PDF to the desktop?
My guess is that the PDF does exist in a desktop, but not the real desktop, but a virtualized desktop.
    such as path users\username \Appdata\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Virtualized\C\Users\username\Desktop
As atest, you can use Process Monitor to capture the process, download this tool from this link
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-in/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx
once you download and install it, open it, while it is recording the activities, open a dialog, which shows the specific pdf file, then in process monitor , use keyword (suc as pdf) to find the specific process

  • K1- How to copy the *.pdf file to K1 , and what dir to copy to ???

I did not install SD card into my K1 .
When I connected K1 to my PC (window XP) I saw the directories:
    - Alarms.
    - capture.
I had some book in *.pdf file format. I like to copy those pdf file to K1 so I can read under Adobe reader. What DIRECTORY I should copy to ?????
    Best Regards.

You can put the PDF files anywhere you want, as long as you remember where you put them. Just as you'd do on a desktop operating system, like Windows or OS X, open a file manager app on your K1, and use the file manager app to navigate to your PDF file. Tap on the PDF file and Android will ask you which program (like Adobe Reader) you want to use to open it. For file managers, I like this one: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.rhmsoft.fm.hd It's ad-supported though, so there'll be a little advertisement in the corner. Or use the file manager app that is preinstalled on the K1.

  • Converting a pdf file to a new pdf file acrobat 9s only creates a ps file.

Using win7 with adobe acrobat 9 standard. This is a new problew. With a pdf file open, and wanting to create a new pdf file using the print function with Adobe PDF as the prnter, I can no longer "print" the file to a new pdf file. Adobe "print to file" dialog box only provides the file type as a "ps" file. I have been using acrobat 9s without a problem. This is a new issue that just appeared today. See below - it won't allow me to print to a new pdf file. How can this be corrected?

Make sure the Print to File option in the Print dialog is ticked off.

  • HT204365 Is it possible to monitor a folder for new .pdf files?

I mostly use my iPad for a few apps and reading my textbooks.  I'd like to be able to put new .pdf files in a particular folder and have iTunes automatically notice so I don't have to drag them over every time.  Is this possible?

If you install beehive extensions for explorer, you can drag and drop files and folders.

  • I copy a pdf to my desktop to remove some pages, when I go to my original PDF, it's been althered the same way my copy was???

    Please help me,
I copied a pdf to my desktop to remove some pages, when I go to my original PDF, it's been althered the same way my copy was???
Also, after a numbers of time, I delete everything from my desktop, I keep the folder where I've stored my PDF, copy the original pdf in it (after I make sure the original PDF was still intact), once copied, the copied version has the changes I've made in it from my previous operation.
    Do you have any ideas?

Make sure it's not an alias.

  • Why can't I open new PDF files into iBooks

I cannot open new PDF files in iBooks, they flash really quick in PDF folder then disappear. I'm really frustrated

I am running Safari Version 5.1.5 (6534.55.3) on my iMac 10,1.  After my last Adobe update, my pdf files are nothing but a black window.  Have tried reverting to an earlier version of Adobe, but still getting a black window.  What next steps should I take?  Thanks.

  • Cannot copy tagged pdf files to device with ActiveSync

I am using a Dell Axim X50V running Windows 2003 second edition. I have Acrobat Reader 2 for ppc installed which reads files with no problem. However, when I try to copy files to my device using Active Sync, it will only let me do so if I select the option *not* to convert them to tagged files. If the option to convert to tagged files is selected, it tells me that "There was a problem backing up your Synchronised Files folder" and "Conversion failed. The specified module could not be found." It then suggests I haven't got enough memory (which I have), or the files are read-only (which they aren't), or that I don't have permission to copy this file type.
If I try copying pdf files to my device via Active Sync without converting them to tagged files, it works without any problems, but I can't reflow.
Is there an easy way to persuade Active Sync to copy tagged pdf files to my device?

I just solved this problem on my computer. This may or may not apply to you, but let me tell you what I found.
When active-sync tries to move a PDF file to your PDA, the first thing it does is look for the tools it needs to tag that file.
To find these tools, it goes to the folder where you first installed Adobe 2.0 on your computer. In my case, I moved that folder, thinking I could conserve hard disk space. You might also have deleted that folder, thinking it was no longer needed once Adobe 2.0 was on your PDA. In my case, once I put those files back in the same place where they were installed, the functionality was restored.
I hope this helps. good luck!

  • HT6114 why i can not attach new pdf files  to my email

why i can not attach new pdf files  to my email ?

If you aren't getting the reset link on the Password & Security section of your account then you don't have a rescue email address (an alternate email address is different), and you won't be able to add one until you can answer your questions - you will have to contact Support in your country to get the questions reset.
Contacting Apple about account security : Contact Apple for help with Apple ID account security
If your country isn't on that page then try this form to contact Support :  https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html
When they've been reset you can then add a rescue email address for potential future use : Manage your Apple ID primary, rescue, alternate, and notification email addresses
Or if it's available in your country you could change to 2-step verification : Frequently asked questions about two-step verification for Apple ID

  • I copy a pdf file to ipad by itune, but where can i open it on  iPad?

i copy a pdf file to ipad by itune, but where can i open it on  iPad?

How did you get the PDF into iTunes, drag to the books library? What PDF apps do you have on the iPad? If you dragged into the books library - and you have iBooks, look in there.
You can email the PDF to yourself and it will open a as mail attachment. You need a compatible app in order to save it, but you can open it from the mail app.
