  • How to copy a existing process chain

    hi
i am a SAP BW learner.
i created a process chain for inital load and i want to create a process chain by copying first created process chain and tell me in what situation we delete the indexes of InfoCube.
Can any one provide me the solution to how can i copy the existing process chain and tell me in what situation we delete the indexes of InfoCube.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Kiran:
Thats correct, you can copy an existing process chain and you will get all the variants in it.
well, the best practice to manually do the INIT loads and let the delta loads be in process chain.
we delete indexes and re create them when we are loading an infocube and the reason  is performance

  • Urgent Issue - Copy DTP and Process Chains in New Client Instance

We have created new client Instance ( CLNT 510 ) based on our present client ( CLNT 500 ).
We have all the process changes, application components from source system CLNT 500 and data ( both for master and transaction data ) in place for the CLNT 500.
Now we need to use the CLNT 510 for our futher development. RFC connection has been established.
Just want to know, do we need to create all the Application component trasfer , Transformation, DTP , Infopackages , Process chains again for the CLNT 510 data.
    please help.
    Thanks and Kind Regards,

    Hello Jr Roberto,
    Hello Jr Roberto,
We have company implementing mutiple SAP Implementations in different countries.
Client for BW Dev is 400.
Source system for Client BWD :
ECC Client ERP Dev - 500 ( for Holland Implementation )
ECC Client EPR Dev - 510 ( for German Implementation  - Instance of ECC 500)
We are completed with the Client 500 implementation.
We are starting the german implementation and they have created a intance of Holland ECC Dev client 500 for german implementation with german data.
Now they have setup 2 rfc connection in BWD 400.
Also finally when they move to QAS client they are going to integrate the data of the both countries into one client.
Presenlty I need to use ECC client 510 client for our german development.
We have around 40 SAP BI reports in our first implementation. and around 10 in our second implementation.
Just want to know, what are issues to be considered in loading master data ( will it overwrite the master data from the client 500, if i extract the master data from client 510 )...and all the other issues like can I copy all the process chains...etc  from client ECC 500 to ECC 510, without creating all transformation, DTP , Infopackages to load all the master from client 510 again.
I need a broad understand on how to go about the development ...starting with Application Components transfer from source system Client 510 ....to report development. ( if possible using the already created objects....infopackages , DTP etc..)
your help would be really appricated Mr Roberto.
    Thanks and Kind Regards,

  • Copy of process chain

    Hi,
Can we create a copy of a process chain? Like we can do for other objects (ODS/Cubes/Queries etc.).
If yes then how. And if no then why.
    thanks ..

In BI7.0,Copy option will be available in Menu -- Under Proces Chain Tab
After this create a new variant for the Copy Process Chain....Using Exchange Variant assign this to the Copy chain and activate it.
Similar in 3.5 also, but for Chain copy is done using Tcode --copy
And the remaining things are same....

  • Error in Transporting Process Chains

    Hi All,
I have a requirement of changing the object name of the Process Chain.
This I have achieved by copying the existing process chain and meeting the naming conventions of the process chain as per client requirement.
Now As both the process chain have the same start variant shows the error. Again I have solved the same by removing the start process of the original process chain and created a new start process for the original process chains. This now shows no error.
The problem is when I try to transport the copied process chains I am getting the error pop up message
"Edit objects separately since they belong to different original systems"
Kindly help how to transport the same

    Hi DPN,
Check oout this thread. This might solve yuor problem.

  • Process chains failing - There is no path from LOADING (ipak) to PSAPROCESS

    Hello
In the load process type of my process chain I am loading till PSA.
I am using the process type - update from PSA for 3 ODSs and loading all of them to the cube. one of these three process types is finishing successfully. For rest of the two I get following errors:
    1. There is no path from [IPAK name] to PSAPROCESS [variant name]
    2. Variant doesnot contain a valid combination request/data target
For the two process types which are failing, the request is not being picked up from PSA. Can you please suggest what can be the reason and how to fix it?
    Thanks & Regards
    Shreyas

    Hi Shreyas,
How is it going on today , is there any change or same thing happened?.
I hope you have followed the below steps for re activation and schedule.
    1. Go to process chain maintain view  and in the menu option
Process Chain --> "Remove from schedule".
    2.Process Chain --> "Activate" .
3.Process Chain --> "Activate and schedule" ( Note: Don't do this step If it is  immediate start )
If the above steps does not work may be you can do one more thing , that is copy the whole process chain in to new one and create a new start event .
I had seen this type of errors and after activate and schedule it went fine.
    Hope this will help.
    Cheers

  • Process chains Master list

    Hello Experts,
We have this challenge where we need to list down the Master list of all the process chains in our production system.
I need to track their frequency and the details of the schedule time.
Which would be the process where I can get these details. I would need the meta chains only.
We have many chains in the system.Pl advise
    Thanks,
    Santhosh

    Hi Santhosh,
You can find meta chain list from RSPCCHAIN table, sort Process Chain (ID) field and you will get all dependent PCs in Process Variant Field.
For the start time thing, you can refer RSPCPROCESSLOG table. First copy data from Process Chain(ID) list from RSPCCHAIN table and paste it to Process Variant (Name) field of RSPCPROCESSLOG table. Also you can filter data here date wise.
    Hope this helps!!!!

  • Debug loop seconds in process chain

    hi
we have an issue. our DTP process has failed in our process chain and the reason was that the transformations were inactive. So we have activated the transformations and have executed the DTP manually. Now when i go to log view of my process chain and  enter REPAIR  on our DTP Process it is asking for DEBUG LOOP ____ Seconds.
    what does debug loop mean...
IS it the right way to restart our process chain by enterIng  REPAIR DTP after the manula dtp load we have done by activation transformations
Can anyone suggest me what should the debug loop  --- value I  SHOULD GIVE

    Hi Krishna,
As mentioned Debug Loop is use to debug a Process Chain....You have to Enter a wait time greater than 0 seconds. And then, activate the Process Chain....
Then Go to the menu option: Execution -> Execute Synchronous to Debugging........The debug screen will now pop-up.....
But in your case, I don't think it is required....Since you have alreday executed the DTP manually....
Now you just need to continue the rest of the chain....
To do this.....open the chain in the Design View ............In the top where we write the TCODE, there wrire "COPY"..........Enter.....
It will copy the original process Chain..........Give a technical name of the copied chain............
Remove all the Processes till that DTP........Including the Start process......
Create a new Start Process......connect it to the next step.......activate the chain and execute it..........then rest of the chains will get executed fine.......
I don't think that you will face the same issue in the next run of the Process Chain........
You can also use the FM : RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH......to continue the chain instead of copying...
For this you can check the Bog :
    Restarting Processchains
    Do as you wish....

  • 203 Invoice Process chain Issue

    Greetings All!
We have been facing an issue where the standard 203 Invoice PC has become cleint dependent .The client which it is pointing is not even existing in BI system configs.Due to this we are not able to open this process chain for editing as well..We tried to delete this process chain and re-instaal from the Business content, but when we are trying that still teh issue of client dependency is coming. The ssyetem gives an error stating
"Chain 0ASA_P041 can only be edited in client 300"
The extended message also shows the follwoing
Object 0ASA_P041 (Process Chain) could not be collected for object ()
    Message no. RSO296
    Diagnosis
You have collected objects in the BI Metadata Repository. Associated objects for object  of type  have also been collected. Object 0ASA_P041 of type Process Chain was among these objects.
However, this object 0ASA_P041 of type Process Chain is not available in the metadata repository.
    System Response
Object 0ASA_P041 of type Process Chain is ignored in further collections. The links for object  of type  are incomplete. This may result in you not being able to activate this object.
    Procedure
If this error occurs while you are installing BI Content, an error may have occurred during the delivery. Inform SAP. In all other cases, check that the object has not been deleted by another user during collection, for example.
Please assist, this issue is existing in both Dev as well as Quality enviroment.
    Kind Regards,
    Surbhi

    Hi Surbhi,
Not sure what might have caused this. Please also try posting the query in BI forums since they might have a better idea on this.
As a quick workaround you can try to create a copy of the process chain 0ASA_P041 and in the table OPMDM_TYPES for the entries INVOICE and C_INVOICE use this new process chain instead of 0ASA_P041. Then the data management UI will automatically pick the new process chain.
    Thanks,

  • Process Chain variants

Hi, we have recently made a copy of our BW Production system to our Quality system. The variants for the Process chains were not copied during the copy.Because of this, now whenever we try to execute a process chain in quality we keep getting the pop up screens repeatedly saying that the variants are not existing. We are hitting the enter key to avoid these pop up screens.
I would like to know how to get rid of this problem and schedule the process chains smoothly.
    Thanks in advance..

    Hi
If you have necessary authorization, you can remove the current process chains without variants and again you can repeat the copying of all process chains from Prod to quality with all the variants....this will take a little bit of work but solve your problem one for all
    Hope this helps

  • Process Chain name Chage

    Hi All,
I am trying to find out a way to change the technical name of my Process Chain. I didn't find any option for deletion too. Can any one of you advise on this. Thank You.

    Hello Troy,
I don't think you can change the technical name of a process chain. Copy the existing process chain into a new one and delete the old one.
    Copy process chain
Transaction RSPC -> Double click on process chain-> type "COPY" in transaction area
    Delete Process chain
Transaction RSPC -> Double click on process chain-> Shift-F2 ( or from menu -> Process chain -> Delete).

  • Error while copying a process chain.

    Hi All,
I get an error message while copying the process chain in Production environment. It says "SAP System has status 'not modifiable'".Choose display object or Cancel.I hope this is because of the config. that there is no option to create anything .
    Please confirm.
    Regards,
    Shailja.

    Hi Shailja,
That means that you can not change that type of object on Quality or Productive server.
Go to Administrator Workbench, sub menu Transport Connection, there you will find a button called Object Changeability (with a truck). Click on that and change the types of the concerned objects to 'Every changeable' in your case.
Beware that you must change the status not with a double click but with a right click
also refer the following thread you can find your solution
Error message after process chain transport
    Hope this helps

  • Copying a process chain

    Hi guys,
I am trying to copy a process chain but use different infopackages and ODS objects from the original one. Please how do i go about this? Thanks

In Rspc , select the PC you want to copy from , on the menu bar , select Process chain , and their select Copy. And more over , which BI version are you working on?? You have this option in 7.0 only I think, if you are on BI 3.5 , I dont think you can copy, the only option is you have to create a brand new one.
    let me know.
