Copy of Storage bin while creating Material master

Hi,
When I am creating a material master by coping a existing Material Master (which has WM view and Storage bin maintained), system does not copy the same Storage bin to the material which is getting created
All the informations are copied except the Storage bin,
We need this for some business reason
Is this possible

We are creating the Material master copying exisiting material for Plant --> Warehouse --> Storage type

I have checked, the MRP controller is availble in Master Data for MRP Controller. And we have already created many material master with this MRP Controller.

Runtime error while creating material master data

hello sir,
i am facing one prolem while creating MATERIAL MASTER DATA.
AFTER GIVING ALL REQUIRED INFORMATION WHEN I AM GOING TO SAVE THE DOCUMENT ITS SHOWING ABAP RUNTIME ERROR.
MESSAGE TYPE: - MDS_KEYMAP.
MESSAGE CLASS: 001.

Can we increase character length of 'Storage Bin' field in material master so that bin details can be accomodated ?

No you cant!
Takehelp of some other field.(text field)

I want validation while creating material master with profit center.
If 0001 plant having 100100 profit center
0002 plant having 200200 profit center
Material A cant be created for 0001 plant for with wrong profit center 200200.

Hi,
Profit centers are assigned to controlling areas. And controlling areas can have many plants under them. So as long as both the plants and profit centers are in the same controlling area users will be able to extend the materials.
You should put in your validation control in the material master user exit. One of the exits you can use is

Hi, Please advise how to create a 10 digit code automatically when we create material master in SAP? Please note that this code is required as one of the basic data view fields, not as material code. Is there any enhancements available for the same.

Error while creating material master

hi,
I'm getting this error message when I'm creating a material master in a specific plant/sloc. I'm probably guessing its in config. I really need some help here.
"Tables TCURM and T001W inconsistent; notify your system administrator" .
could any one draw some light on this.

Problem while creating Material Master (MM01)

Gurus,
I am novice to sap sd, and I am trying to create a Material (MM01) for a Customer, and have given the inputs 'Material', 'Industry sector' etc.
To my surprise, I am unable to see ' 'Sales org 1' , 'Sales org 2' ' Sales : General plant' tabs .
Should I need to enable something to view these tabs ?
All I could view is 'Organizational levels' ' check screen data' ' Additional data'

Hi,
Try to create a Material in this way. Check whether you are using same steps.
Go to MM01
Enter Industry sector & Material type (Eg: FERT - Finished Products)
Click on "Select view(s)" button option without pressing Enter key directly.
Then you should be able to see all tabs listed in "Select view(s)" pop up window.
Check whether "View selection only on request" tick box is marked. If it's marked, Un-tick it. If you have marked that, then this screen will not automatically appear.
Highlight relevant tabs.
Press "Organizational-levels" button in that pop up.
Enter relevant Sales Org/ DC & Division.
If "IOrg. Ievels/profiles only on request" is marked, then Un-tick that also. Its for same purpose as above.
Press Enter.
Now check whether you get those tabs in the Material Master.

Multiple storage bin for single material

Hi,
We wanted to assign multiple storage bins in the material master as the material is stored in mutilple storage bin in the same storage location. We are not using WM.
We want to resolve the issue without implementing WM.
Please advice where and how do we maintain the same.
In plant data / stor 1 view there is a provision for maintaining only one storage bin.

it is not possible without WM.
As workaround :
You either create for each storage bin a storage location,
or
you active batch management and let the batch work as bin.

Error message AA119 while creating asset master through AS01

Hi
while creating asset master (AS01), i am getting following error:-
Depreciation key M003 not allowed (Check your entry)
Message no. AA119
Diagnosis
Depreciation key M003 is not defined.
System Response
Processing is terminated.
Procedure
You have the following choices:
Use a defined depreciation key (use input help).
Define a depreciation key in Customizing ("change" pushbutton) and activate the key.
I have done following in configuration:-
1) No change in base method
2) copied multi level method from standard key "011" to "M03" and maintain vlaue as - Acquisiton year - 9999, Years - 999, Validity period in month - 12, Base value key as - 01and depreciation % as 10
3) No change in Period Control Methods
4) Copied standard depreciation key "GL20" as "M003" and maintain the multilevel method as "M03"
5) save the configuration
6) Activate the depreciation key by selecting depreciation key and clicking on Activate button on top of the screen
7) Import the configuration
now while creating asset, depreciation key M003 is appearing in drop down list but getting above error. but if I tried with depreciation key GL20 (which is standard depreciation key) system accepting the input
In target client, depreciation key display in Active stage.
please revert if anybody has any clue to come out from above problem.

Thanks for your response.
I got the solution and now problem has been resolve.
Initially i have maintain Scrap Value as Default Value from Company code and Depreciation Area in Depreciation Key (AFAMA) and I was getting the error. But now I have change the Scrap Value as CutOff Value is ignore and problem gets resolve.
But still do not understand the relation between the erro and Scrap Value assignment. Any Idia. It will be helpful for other members also.
