Copy/paste automation data in audio regions

Hi,
A dumb question but I'm having trouble figuring out...how do I copy and paste automation data in audio regions? When I copy and paste an audio region I like, it pastes down the selected region but without the automation data with it. I've been rewriting the automation data every time to the newly-pasted region but I'm sure there's a simple way to do this. I've looked through the various help files but still am struggling to find the procedure. Any advice is welcome and thank you.

OK, for viewers of this topic I figured this out myself. There are two lines in the reference manual that pertain but even they were a little confusing. They read:
"Option - long clicking on a selection allows you to copy the selection." p.234
I had success by using the pointer tool and selecting the automation data within the region by holding shift+dragging the mouse over the target data. The data highlights white. Then with the pointer tip on a line of the selected data, holding option+long clicking the selection AND dragging the data while still holding the option key I was able to drag and drop the automation data to a new region in the track. That got me "in the ball park" so to speak but fine tuning the actual drop was necessary to assure precise nodal location. That can be done node by node or better by dragging the entire automation selection as a loop edit.

OSA: Copying Past Appraisals data to New

Hi,
I Hav already a link called "Last Document" which opens the Last Appraisal document in a new window.In addtion to that i want a button called <b>Copy Last document </b>. On clicking the button the past appraisals data should be copied to new form.
Is this possible? Im using SAP4.7 and HR Extension 2.0.

Say old document has 3 added qualifications (via the free enhancement):
So the structure looks like
element Q group (coming from template)
Q1
Q2
Q3
Now the new document looks initially like this
Element Q group
Via the fix enhancement you can read the elements added in the previous document and add these Q's in the new documents. Now you have the same structure in your new appraisal. Now you will need to get the values, which then is done via a value determination.
So, fix enhancement to copy the elements, value determination to copy the values.
However, what would you do with free objectives (same element technically with each time another text)? You cant uniqly indentify them, as such your val.det would go wrong.
What about deleted elements? Elements that are not available anymore?
All these things you will need to take into consideration.

Copy-pasting results in no audio

If I copy-paste an edited sequence from a previously saved timeline to a new one all is well at first glance.
However when I save and close Premiere and then re-open, the clips are there but the sound isn't. What could cause this?

Sorry, I should have been clearer. That is what I''m doing - saving wmp formats etc. as a .mov (I have Flip4Mac installed). However, when viewing the information of the movie within Quicktime, it says that the video is still windows media video.
Still, the problem I'm having is that there is no audio (neither is it registered in the information panel qithin Quicktime). Could it be that the .mov is referencing the audio as opposed to embedding it in the video? And if so, how do I get it to embed the audio? Do I have to use iMovie?

Copy - Paste Velocity data only?

Hello everyone,
I have an ostinato pattern that repeats about 50-60 times, and I'd like to be played "loud-soft-soft." Is there a way to copy-paste velocity information so I don't have to manually change each notes velocity?
I've tried copy-pasting hyper edit velocity information but it copy-pastes not only the velocity, but the notes as well!
I could use the pencil tool to draw the hyper information, but that is almost as tedious as changing the notes by hand.
Any suggestions?

I got a GREAT suggestion from logicprohelp.com to use "groove templates" and apply 0% quantize and 100% velocity. In theory this should work, but no matter what I try (quantize strength 0%, Quantize swing 0%) it STILL wants to quantize my part, and does so in a way that it makes it sound like mistakes and jitters rather than the consistent triplet pattern I wrote.
I'm going to continue to try this method, as it seems like it should work! I'm hoping its just user error!
As for simply re-playing in the part...well, lets just say my piano chops are REALLY bad, and when I slow down the part to a tempo I can play it, it somehow looses the bouncy feel I wanted then I speed it back up. I was hoping there would be an easy way to get the "feel" I wanted with the velocities and easily paste them. Perhaps I should just bite the bullet and keep re-recording the part until its right! That would probably be faster in the long run, seeing as how there is no Copy-Paste velocity, and groove templates seem to be buggy.

How do I copy automation data on multiple aux tracks?

Hi. Can anybody tell me how I can move/copy/paste automation data that exists on multiple Aux tracks at the same time as I move/copy/paste midi and audio regions?
Currently I can move/copy/paste multiple midi and audio regions at the same time, and if they also have automation data with them this also gets moved/copied/pasted, BUT its the automation data on Aux tracks which doesnt.
e.g. If I use 'Select Inside Locators' and then alt/drag the regions, Logic refuses to select the automation data on any of my Aux tracks too- so these get left out and I have to manually select each one and copy and paste it by hand which takes ages and is very fiddley.
Does anybody know how to do this?

ctrl-cmd-E does not work? And cmd-1 doesn't work either?
Let's hope then that alt-K works, because that is where you can set keycommands. Any of the presets in the dropdown menu top left contains the commands you need.
I just did it myself, to check it; every keycommand preset there is, contains both combo's I've given.
I have no idea if there's a menu item for the Automation Event list, I guess there should be since there's no • in front of it (• before a command meaning it has no menu item), but I cannot find it, and I don't even know if it works using menu items. cmd-1 should work, always, but it's also under Window>Arrange.

How do you copy and paste automation?

Is there a way to copy and paste automation in logic instead of redrawing the same automation later in the song I asked the same question a few weeks ago and some one replied to go to automation preferences and change the setting move automation with regions to always or ask I did this but this simply just moves the automation with the region if you drag it from its original place I want to copy and paste the region and the have the automation with it hope someone knows what I'm on about cheers
p.s does any know if there is a key board command to turn the cycle mode on/off I looked in the key command preferences but could not find it

Hold down the option key, then drag the region. This will copy the regions AND the automation (as long as you have automation preferences set to move the automation with the region).
Also, there is a hidden feature in Logic, that used to be called the automation folder. t was accessible via a key command in Logic 6, and then they removed that key command in version 7. Why they hid this is beyond me, as it is a very useful thing.
But if you go to your key commands and assign a key command to "Automation Event List", this will open an Event List window showing you the songs automation. Now with that List Window open, hit Apple/1. This opens a new Arrange page, but you'll notice that this new arrange page is showing you all the songs automation data, represented as regions.
From this page, you can then cut and move your automation just like you do audio and MIDI regions.

Copy And Paste Automation

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to copy and paste automation (without selecting and alt dragging it)? I am used to using pro tools and very frequently use tab to transient and paste automation at that transient, basically I'm looking for a way to mimic that workflow in logic, I'm able to get the tabbing to work fine but am stuck at the copy/paste automation part.

Possible to copy automation data from one project to another?

I have done some automation editing to a region in a project, and I would like to copy it to an identical region in another project. Is this possible?

I have not tried this method I'm now going to describe, but 'logic' dictates it should work:
1. In your donor project, open the *Automation Event List* , ctrl-⌘-E, then open a new Arrange window, ⌘-1. The new arrange window will now contain regions that only hold automation.
2. Go to *Logic Pro>Preferences>Audio>Devices>Coreaudio* tab and UNtick the Enabled box. (If you don't, each audio file and instrument will have to be reloaded each time you switch from one to the other project. That would drive anyone absolutely nuts.)
3. Now open the other project, get an Automation arrange window there, like in 1.
Now you should be able to copy/paste automation regions between the two projects.
Hope this works... I think that you need to set the playhead at the right position before pasting, but you'll have to figure that out yourself...

Hi there.. im trying to copy a track that has extensive automation Panning and i dont want to have to write all the automation data again.. it took me hours and my head is sore.. how do i copy the automation data so that when i click and drag the track the automation data sticks with it..

The only think you probably do not know is that when you select a region it does not select the Track Automation. That's why you need to show "Track Automation" pane and select the automation nodes. In the video I click select the Region after that I hold Option modifier to select the first node which selects all nodes ( here you can use different selection methods, depends on what you want to select ). Finally when I Option drag the region to copy it, a prompt is asking if you want to copy the Automation. You can also copy the Track Automation only with out the region etc.

As per the information and details provided by you, when you copy & paste a data from server to Outlook, word, notepad, then you do not receive the Chinese text.
For Outlook, please follow these steps: -
Close and reopen Outlook in your western locale (or switch the windows system to your Western locale if you changed that),
Manually change the message from Western to Chinese encoding, which you can do in all versions up to Outlook 2007.
If you want to stay in your Chinese locale in Outlook 2007, then:
After you hit reply, go to the Option tab > More Options.
In the Encoding drop-down menu, select the Chinese encoding you are working in (Not the encoding used by the person who will receive the message)
Note:
To set the Chinese locale in all versions up to 2007 the controls are under.
Tools > Options. In Outlook 2010 File tab > Options > Advanced > International options.
Unicode (UTF-8)
is a good setting for multilingual users.
Check the
Auto select 2007)/ Automatically select (2010) encoding box.

a web dynpro form we have. Basically the user select multiple cells in excel and paste them in the WDA form.

As abhimanyu pointed out that there is no API to catch the clipboard data.
the FM which are availabale in GUI for copy paste clipboard data also don't work in web page.
so if you want to have it at any cost, only solution will be some work around.
create a text edit and paste the data there using CTRL+V and then read it from there.
using the string operations to seperate and then fill the fields.

Aperture 3 - Copy/paste metadata to external database

Hi all, I'm trying to create an external database of the lat., lon, direction, date and other metadata for ~1000 photos. I can see see the metadata alongside the image in browser mode or have it appear at the bottom of the image in full-screen view. I'd like to be able to a) create a table to those data to a text file that I can put in a spreadsheet (fast way) or, b) be able to copy/paste those data separately into the spreadsheet. As it stands now, I cannot do either. I cannot highlight and copy the text. Does someone know where those data are stored or have a solution?

Multiple copy paste

Does someone knows of a script in InDesign which allows one to have more then one "item" in its clipboard, but without loosing the formatting? I'll explain, We often work with legal docs. All of them are in two languages. I you have to enter the law title on the French side it has to be added on the Dutch one too. It's much easier to keep both frames the same length then first copying all the Dutch items and then the French side. So, I've been looking for some extra clipboard solutions for Win 7 64bit, but none of them retains the InDesign formatting (underline, spacing, char and pare styles ...). We are looking for a script where you can store a few items (without loosing the formatting, the items are always used in the actif document) from which you can select the item you want to copy.
