Copy/Paste between schedules

P6 8.2 Professional Standalone on a Laptop.
I have two schedules -- one for the general building, and one for detailed upfit of one floor. Both are in the same EPS, using the same code structure (No resources, No WBS.) All the codes are EPS codes, no Project codes.
I want to merge them. Basically, I want to bring the single-floor schedule into the main schedule. I've been away from it for awhile. How do I do this?

Highlight both projects, open them, group by WBS (which will actually be your project), copy all from one and paste to the other. Consider any codes that are project-specific that may not transfer over. Promote those code to EPS or Global if necessary. Do this on copies of the projects first to see if you get the results you want.

Copy&paste between textedit and javachat

I'm running a MacBook Pro 2.4GHz intel OSX 10.5.6. I moderate a java chat room and keep broadcasts and IP#'s in text edit and so copy and paste between the two. But lately I'm running into a loss of this ability. I can copy and paste within textedit or within the java chat, but not between them. When it first began happening a reboot was enough to bring that function back, but now I'm having to run onyx to repair permissions etc. to get it right again. How do i fix this? When the room's busy, i really need that function. I don't know if this is related, but got this message after the last permission repair...

Suddenly I cannot copy paste between applications.

Has anyone dealt with this issue? I used to be able to copy and paste between all my applications.
Now I can copy from one web browser to another, and from one Word document to another, but I cannot copy/paste from the web to Word or vice versa.
I'd appreciate some help!

Cannot copy/paste between X11 and Aqua after 10.5.7 update

I'm stumped. After updating to 10.5.7 I am unable to cut/paste between xterm and Text Editor or any other Aqua-based app (email, browser, etc...). I can cut/paste between Aqua apps. And I can cut/paste between X11 apps, but X11 <-> Aqua just does not work. Commands pbpaste and pbcopy work great and are a temp fix, but I cannot work this way much longer. Going back to Linux is looking more and more attractive.

Put the image on a server and use the html code
Create another user account and see if X11 behaves normally in the new account. If it does, you know the problem must then reside in your own configuration settings.

Fcpx - can't copy & paste between projects

I'm building a program that has several distinct parts to it and I need to put some of those parts together into one sequence - or "project" as fcpx calls it. The media length is about 30 minutes. It should be as simple as copy & paste. I've tried using keyboard shortcuts and the drop-down menu from above - neither works. It does the copying part but when I go to paste nothing happens (paste is greyed out above). I then tried to C&P smaller bits of the program. The first time it worked, but never again after that. If it pastes anything at all, it pastes something other than what I selected and copied. Crazy. Has anyone else out there experienced this? Does anyone have any suggestions/workarounds? Thanks!

Got the same problem here. Then I came to realize that there're one (or some) footage, or in my case, a audio file that causes this problem. delete that from my project, and i can do the copy and paste again. I don't know exactly what's wrong with those files, but, thank god that it's not an important one. You may have to copy & paste mutiple times to see witch of the files got wrong( the troubled one can't correctly be copy and paste)

Flash CS3 crashing with copy/paste between 2 files

Hi.
I am a flash games developer, and I am currently working on a game that is truly massive.
The main file size is over 250MB.
It's been a work in progress for about 4 months of solid work.
Due to the size of the file, I prefer to create things like characters and objects in another file. I then need to import it over, replacing old movieclips.
When copying and pasting now, it always crashes, or tells me that its run out of virtual memory.
It appears to be impossible to get it all over, even bit by bit.
I've saved and compacted, I've saved as, I've moved it onto another disk drive.
All of the above seemed to help temporarily, but I'm now at a stage where nothing is working.
I don't think the file is corrupted in anyway. I've had no problems with any other component of flash. Just the copying.
I just don't understand what's so intensive about moving over an object of about 10-20 mb.
My computer is quite high performance, 5.6ghz, 4gb of ram.
I've asked for help on so many forums now, and all i get is criticism at my file size. Well it can't be helped. It's a massive game.
I've tried using a runtime shared library, but unfortunately it doesn't allow attachmovie to get it from the library. It seems the identifier is only being used to connect the 2 libraries when you set up a runtime shared library.
attachmovie is very important to the code and it can't be done any other way.
Please please help.

Ok, So I was getting frustrated so I copied the file I was
working on onto a thumb drive. Just for the heck of it I tried
opening and running it from the thumb drive and for some reason it
works! I really can't figure out why though. Same computer and
everything but if I just read straight from the USB key it works
completely fine. I'm really confused with this problem now. I also
am getting the same crashing error when I open certain files from a
certain folder.
I'm running XP. I refuse to update to Vista :)
but it seems that we are having the same problem despite the
different Operating systems. So this is a very interesting
problem...
Any one else have any help tips for us?

Did copy paste between projects get lost in LG 9?

A thing I often did in LG 8, was copying a bunch of midi regions from one LG project to another.
It was brilliant, as you just select the regions in one sequence, copy them, go to the other sequence, hit paste and it would ask if I wanted to paste them on track with the same name or something like that, and it would always put the regions on the right tracks in the same track setup.
Now, in LG 9, when I try doing that, it doesn't ask me anything, and just sticks all the tracks at the bottom of my sequence when I hit paste.
If I only had 5 tracks that wouldn't be such a big deal, but my template has 600 tracks, and dragging the regions on the right tracks takes way too much time.
Is this a setting I need to click somewhere, or did this feature get lost in LG 9?
I know about the import setting, but that takes too much time and in a template with 600 tracks I woulnd't instantly know which tracks I contain regions.

when I export to DV, it still doesn't look as good as when I go straight from iMovie6 to iDVD?
Doesn't look as good where? Remember that iMovie display is only a preview. Also QT Player defaults to low-res display of DV clips.
I am using Expert Settings
iMovie's expert settings are buggy so use the Full Quality preset instead.

Copy paste between Premiere Pro and After Effects cs5

I have seen this done but somehow it isn't working for me.
I have a Premiere Pro project and have created a dynamic link with After Effects.
I have copied a single edited clip from my timeline in Premiere and have attempted to paste it to After Effects.
I have seen that after performing a paste command in After Effects it creates a composition and an MPEG clip and also a layer for the clip.
Well - in my case - the paste only recreates the MPEG clip and nothing else. No composition... no layer. Besides I think this clip is the one from my assests and not the edited clip.
What am I doing wrong?

No copy & paster between Playbook Browser and Bridge Email?!

Can anyone confirm the problem I see and maybe know whether RIM is working on it?
Quite often I need to paste text portions out of a website and include it in an email and send it.
In this case I copied the web adress in the PB browser and tried to paste it into the Bridged Email App.
No success, there is no paste option available. Pasting to a native PB app works!
This is a huge drawback and I am sure many other will discover this problem, sooner or later.
Is the adressed to RIM?

Bridge related issue related to language configuration of the PlayBook was solved by the following steps,
1.Unpair your devices;
2.Change language to default English;
3. reboot PlayBook;
4.Pair the devices and bridge;
5.Change the language of the PlayBook to your prefered one.

What's best way to copy/ paste between instruments in Score Editor?

Hi - I used the rubber band to select a bar which I wanted to move to another instrument. I then used Cmd+C, and Cmd+V.
I tried 1) clicking in the new bar but it pasted to the beginning of the track and 2) also set locators but it didn't paste accurately.
Can someone tell me the accurate way, please ?

If you are copying a track to the same measure (copy guitar track measure 9 - 16 to piano track measure 9 -16). Click on guitar track so that it turns blue, Highlight the notes you want, then select piano track, click on it make sure it is now blue.. use 'paste at original position' from the edit menu.
to copy to a different location - highlite some notes from gtr track - make sure they are blinking -, then put cursor on top of first note you want to move, and click hold mouse, you will see a 'drag box' come up. It will show you the exact location, of that note. (measure 3 1 2 121).Then select and highlite the track you want to move to - paste it, and then drag the highlited note to the correct position.
Sometimes I find it easier to copy and paste from the piano roll page.. Open a score and piano roll editor, You can still high lite in score, but then more to piano roll and paste and drag..
I have had problems with pasting in score page, the way you described too, not sure if it's a bug,or I am not understanding everything.

Copy/Paste between guest and host system

I'm looking for the way to use the clipboard so that I can copy from host system to guest system.

Unfortunately, the VBOx docs can be pretty spotty.
What is your guest OS?
What is your host OS?
From you example above it appears you are working with Ubuntu on one side or the other, but it it is not clear if that is host or guest. If we can get that clarified perhaps we can offer some more assistance.

Copy/Paste images into Contribute CS3

We have been copying and pasting images from Word Documents
in Office 2003 into Contribute CS3 at my organization when
developing content. We have been able to copy/paste images from
Office 2003 and other programs like Paintshop Pro and SnagIt.
Since upgrade to Microsoft Office 2007 all image copying and
pasting has stopped working.
Is there a known issue with this?
Does anyone else have Office 2007 installed and is able to
copy/paste images from a Word Document into a page in Contribute
CS3?

It appears that the problem only occurs if you are copy and
pasting from something that hasn't been saved yet.
In Word I inserted an image from my hard drive and tried to
copy/paste it into Contribute and that failed. I then saved the
Word Document to my hard drive, re-opened it and was able to
copy/paste fine.
Power Point, Snagit and Pain Shop Pro appear to have the
problem even if it's been saved first.
I was able to copy/paste an image from a Word Doc and
PowerPoint into MSPaint just fine. I was also able to copy/paste
between Office applications with out any problem. Snagit could
copy/paste into Office just fine and MSPaint.
This problem appears to be specific to Contribute CS3 but
only from certain sources.

Well its not at all bad, and i would say that the interface it a lot better than previous ones.
and even you email link to someone, you can't specify the text that you are refering to so you can be more specific and it also contains internal links and images that makes it to the point..

Copy & Paste Flash- Illustrator

I'm having a lot of trouble copying artwork from Flash into
other vector-based programs. It seems like what's happening is that
it's dropping a bunch of vertices and/or only transfering straight
lines instead of curves. For instance, I have
this symbol in
Flash. When I copy and paste it into Illustrator I get
this. As I'm
sure you can see, it completely drops the dark line at one end
(which is technically a shape, not a line), and it mangles the
shape of the main piece.
I'm using Flash 8 and Illustrator CS but I'm pretty sure it's
a problem in Flash. I have the same problem when I copy from Flash
8 into Flash MX 2004. I _don't_ have this problem, though, when
copying from MX 2004 to other programs.
Here are the settings from Flash 8's Clipboard preferences
panel (though I don't think any of these should have any bearing on
this problem):
Color Depth: Match Screen
Resolution: 300 dpi
Size Limit: 1000Kb
"Smooth" is checked
Gradient Quality: Normal
Freehand text: maintain as blocks

flash 8 and AI are 2 different apps developed (at the time)
by 2 different companies - so copy/paste
between them isn't directly supported but you may get lucky
depending on the artwork.
Just export from flash to eps or AI - then open in AI.

Copy/Paste stopped working

Hi there,
I've been using RD for quite a while at home to control 2 more macs from my imac, and one of the features i use the most is Copy/Paste between the computers, but a couple days ago, i noticed that this features stopped working. I have no idea why this might be, and I can't find any specific reason for it to happen in the manual.
Could someone try to help me?

It was fixed by something as simple as rebooting my system.
Sorry to panic but if anyone else has this problem try the old reboot and it may help.
