Is there a way to copy and paste in nokia asha 300 ? I haven't found it yet ...

Hi!
I've transfered all my contacts from my old E51 to my new Asha 300 using Nokia PC Suite. The transfer procedure was fine.
But later I noticed that some contacts haven't been copied because the Asha 300's memory was full. I cannott add any new contact on the phone's memory.
If I check on "tools" menu, I still have lot of MB available.
Why the phonebook memory results full when there is still a lot of space?
What is the Nokia mobile phone with the largest memory dedicated to the phonebook?

Welcome to Nokia Support Discussions!
Unlike Nokia E51, Nokia Asha 300 has an allocated contact memory and can hold a limited number of contacts. I was not able to double-check this, but apparently it can store up to 2000 contacts depending on the fields used. Normally Nokia phones can store up 500 to 2000 contacts, and some phones can go beyond that as they will use phone memory to store the contacts.
We would advise you to go through your contacts and try to get the amount down.

Asha 501 copy & paste

The copy and paste function is very poor compared to asha 210, at times u can copy but no option to paste, at times no even copy option. Eg. In the case of contact, there is no copy option when editing phone numbers.

Not only the copy paste is missing but many more things are missing.
Like we
1- cannot send files from memory card..
If we want to send image we have to use Gallery..
If want to send song need to use music..
This has created problem that unsupported file cannot be sent now.
In the older asha phone we were able to send files from memory card also..
2- We cannot take backup of separate thing like Message contacts etc.
It directly backups every thing..
And many more things are missing..
Hope Nokia fix this soon..

Copy-Paste From Other Apps Into CS5
Pasting images/photos from Powerpoint 2004 to CS5, I experienced the exact problem posted slightly off topic by james norrington in the thread "CS5 does not let me copy & paste file names." It was not answered and is quoted here:
---"I am using CS5 Photoshop and Office 2004 on 10.6.3. I was using 10.4 until a few weeks ago and it worked and still works with other macs in the office using CS4. I can copy and paste from powerpoint but it cuts the pictures in half and does not know what the res. of the image is. Also when I go from photoshop to powerpoint the image res. is also not preserved."---
Besides that, I also found copy-paste from a digital camera photo.jpg from Preview to CS5 doesn't respect the resolution either. Directly opening the photo into PS CS5, fine.
From the earliest PS, always was able to copy any image to clipboard, have a new document dialog box come up pre-filled with correct original WxH pixels, original resolution, color mode, etc., and just paste into the new document - perfect fit (even the oddball PPT 576 ppi). Now a shift and cut-off. Don't have PPT 2008 to test pasting from there.
I have also found that a similar but less severe image cut off happens when copy-paste from PPT -> Preview, or -> TextEdit, or -> drag and drop picture clipping.
Opening Image File in CS5
Even an original 300 dpi tiff file wrongly went to 72 ppi etc. when opened directly into CS5. Converted the file to a jpeg in Preview - that jpeg file could be opened into CS5 correctly, reconverted the jpeg to TIFF in Preview, still opened OK (not counting loss of image quality). Still couldn't copy paste from either document into CS5 correctly. One difference I noticed in the converted files was that more information was available in the Preview file info. Maybe that made the difference in opening the file correctly.

Thanks to Chris for the explanation of the dueling clipboards.
It's still frustrating, but since I still have a CS2 license from the dead G4 the current Mac replaced, I can try that (wonder if they can coexist), or maybe I could use an older Mac for this particular situation.
As for the .tif file, it was generated by a Mac OS 8.5 era image capture program that we are forced to use, and the analysis was that the app does not properly encode the TIFF tags to acceptable standards. Preview 5.0.2 just guessed right from the little information that was included - but it didn't work when tried with Preview 3.0.9 on an OS 10.4 Mac. So this was a unique situation.

Copy & Paste Flash- Illustrator

I'm having a lot of trouble copying artwork from Flash into
other vector-based programs. It seems like what's happening is that
it's dropping a bunch of vertices and/or only transfering straight
lines instead of curves. For instance, I have
this symbol in
Flash. When I copy and paste it into Illustrator I get
this. As I'm
sure you can see, it completely drops the dark line at one end
(which is technically a shape, not a line), and it mangles the
shape of the main piece.
I'm using Flash 8 and Illustrator CS but I'm pretty sure it's
a problem in Flash. I have the same problem when I copy from Flash
8 into Flash MX 2004. I _don't_ have this problem, though, when
copying from MX 2004 to other programs.
Here are the settings from Flash 8's Clipboard preferences
panel (though I don't think any of these should have any bearing on
this problem):
Color Depth: Match Screen
Resolution: 300 dpi
Size Limit: 1000Kb
"Smooth" is checked
Gradient Quality: Normal
Freehand text: maintain as blocks

flash 8 and AI are 2 different apps developed (at the time)
by 2 different companies - so copy/paste
between them isn't directly supported but you may get lucky
depending on the artwork.
Just export from flash to eps or AI - then open in AI.

Copy paste from windows clipboard to JTextField

I am making a swing application with a lot of components in it. There are a lot of JtextFields in the application. when i do Ctrl+C from a JTextField and do a Ctrl V in a different JTextField of the same application the text gets copied to the second JTextField. But when i copy something from windows and try to paste it in JTextField it does'nt work. Please guide me. Some other component is eating up the Ctrl C/Ctrl V event or what?
I tried adding keystroke's to the InputMap of the JTextField but it still does'nt work.

Download Nokia Suite. Now connect your old device to it. Sync all your data. Then connect the new device & you can copy all the data from there to your device.

Asha 300 - MP3 Problems

I've been trying to copy MP3s to my new Asha 300 but I just can't get it to work.
When I select multiple files, it will copy some of them to the phone, but not all of them.
Also, when I copy songs to the phone, then close the program and reload it, a bunch of the music I copied over is listed under "Unknown Artist" and is apparently 0 minutes long.
On top of this, when I play the songs using the phones media player, the song displayed on the screen is often not the song it plays.

Hi, Clawcity. Where did these MP3s come from? Did you download them online? Did you ripped them from a CD? After transferring the files, have you refreshed the music library of your phone? Did you connect the device via USB or Bluetooth? Have you tried using Nokia Suite to transfer the files?

Copy/paste in save as dialog box

I am using your pdf plugin with Safari but when I click the save icon I cannot paste text into the file name box. I have to manually type it in. Can I copy & paste in the save dialog box?

Fields don't recognize their value has changed when a copy/paste value in inputed

I'm having a minor hiccup with my copy and paste buttons.
I have check boxes that, when checked, make other fields visible. The copy/paste actions recognize when the check box value is 1 and paste accordingly in the new instance of the subform, however, the invisible fields do not become visible, despite the check box value being 1 in the new instance. I feel like I'm missing something simple....possibly something that forces the scripting within the check box field to run since it is not recognizing that it's value has changed? If I manually click the check box in the new instance, the scripting works and the invisible fields become visible so I know its not an issue with creating new instances.
Any suggestions will be appreciated...I am new to this...

Are SMS forwarding/Editing and Text Copy Paste functions supported in Firefox OS?

Could not find any options to forward SMS or edit text messages, neither could find any options to copy paste general text. Most importantly, in the number dial pad, the cursor can't be moved to the desired location to add digits. Am I wrong? If so how do I go about these things?

Can't get Typekit to work with localhost (also, another weird issue with copy+paste)

I've searched through the other posts already, and I *think* I've tried all the solutions, but I still can't get the typekit fonts on my machine.
I'm trying to use the "orator-std" font. In the "kit editor", in the "kit settings -> kit settings" tab I have for name "localhost" (w/o quotes) and for domains just "127.0.0.1" (w/o quotes).
Then (AFTER saving the settings from that tab), I go back into edge animate, I start a new font by clicking that + sign next to "fonts", in the "library" tab. I set the "font fallback list" to ' "orator-std",sans-serif ' (w/ quotes, w/o single quotes), and then go back to the open browser and go to the "embed code", copy both lines of javascript, go back to edge animate, and... nothing. It won't let me change ANY text in this box anymore after the window loses focus. I have to press "cancel" and try again. So this time, I just type in the orator-std... blah blah, same as last time, but paste in the code successfully as it was already in the clipboard and I didn't need to make the window lose focus. Okay, so I click "Add font", and apply the font to my text. Nothing happens.
Huh... well the "Font's from T" picture is showing up in the bottom right of my screen, so that's odd. I go to preview in chrome, still ugly old sans-seriff there, also with the "Font's from T" logo in the bottom right.
I figure "okay, probably just takes a second... or a minute... or w/e like the message said." Well this was at least an hour ago, so something is still wrong.
I would love to just delete the font and start from scratch... maybe something got screwed up along the way and it would fix things to just start from scratch. Well... "sorry" says edge animate... can't let you delete that! In the "libarary" tab, there's only one font visible, it says "orator-std,sans-serif" (w/o quotes). If I right click it, the only option is "delete" and it's greyed out.
I tried doing one with arial instead of sans-serif just now, still not working, but everything shows up in arial now instead of sans-serif... so that's something I guess.
Apologies if this is just a simple problem that I'm just somehow not grasping. Please accept this legitimate bug report as payment... the er copy paste bug, I mean...

I'm sorry you ran into trouble here. Typekit can be used locally. However there are some necessary steps that if left out, will cause the fonts not to render. In order to use Typekit locally, you've got to:
1. Be running a local server when testing your site in the browser. You can tell if you're running a local server by the URL of the local site. If it starts with: file:// then you are just viewing the local file in a browser and not running it from a local server.
If the local URL starts with: http:// then you're running a local server.
2. The domain of your local server has to be part of the domain list in your Kit. So, if your local server uses: localhost, you'll need to add this to your Kit's domains.

I am working in windows 7 and I am trying to enable the copy/paste and I can not find user.j file in the profile and I am not real sure how to create a file, I can create a folder .

I am trying to copy text from a word document and paste it into my web builder and it says that firefox does not support copy/paste from clipboard. Went to your site and it tells me to open the user.j file in my profile. This file does not exist and I am not real sure how to create that file so I can paste the fix from your site into it.

I went to that link and added to firefox add on but it still does not work. I went to the add on option button for this but it told me that my MYSIWG widget was disabled. Does this have something to do with it not working and if so how do you enable it.

Copy/Paste difference between CS4 and CS5

Please help... I am losing my mind...
I just upgraded from CS4 to CS5 the other day and am at my wits end.
I use Adobe Illustrator for live trace and paste the paths into an embroidery software for digitizing.
In Adobe Illustrator CS4, I could copy (ctrl+c) paths in illustrator and then open the embroidery software and paste (ctrl+v) the paths.
Now that I've upgraded to Illustrator CS5, I can no longer copy/paste paths... why? The paths simply wont paste into the embroidery software any longer.
I feel like there is something very fundamental that I am missing.
Any help is appreciated.

Thank you for your suggestion. If you can't tell already, I am far from an Illustrator power user...
I verified my clipboard settings looked as the attached image and it still did not seem to work. I also tried every combination of options and none of them worked either.
Work Flow: I will highlight the paths and copy them, then in the embroidery software when I hit paste, the mouse cursor turns into the processing icon for a split second like it's trying to paste, but nothing ever shows up in the embroidery software.
I reinstalled Illustrator CS4 alongside CS5 this morning, and tried the same copy/paste process with CS4 (from an illustrator file created in CS5)... works like a charm. I realize that downgrading to CS4 is not the solution. However, not being able to correctly operate the copy/paste commands is toying with my ego...
