Copy Paste Not Always Available

So how how do you copy paste from (say) one e-mail to another e-mail? I can copy the desired text, but when I navigate to a new e-mail (or Docs to Go) once I place my cursor I can not find the ability (icon) to paste. I would love a keyboard shortcut if one existed.

After reading a LOT of the replies here and some more experimentation I have solutions for the problem when trying to paste into an e-mail and Documents to Go:
For e-mails - WORK AROUND - write some text in the new e-mail and THEN press and hold the cursor and the paste icon will appear. I could not get the paste icon to appear until there was some existing text in the body of the e-mail.
For Documents to Go: As documented elsewhere, position the icon and HOLD down for two seconds and then the paste icon will appear.

iTunes sharing on ipad is not always available. I have a windows pc and shared is enabled in iTunes and iPad. All signed. One day I see the share option. Next day, no matter what I do including disabling the firewall, no shared library. Help!

Why is iMessage not always available

My other half sent me a txt today, his phone say,s delivered, I never got it. I a guessing it was via iMessage. Why is it that iMessage is not always available?

It sounds as though your phone message may not be properly registered with iMessage.
Go to Settings > Messages and turn iMessage OFF, then turn it back on again.
Make sure the message "iMessages can be sent between iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch" appears.

Copy/Paste settings always includes lens corrections even if not ticked? (LR3)

I'm having trouble with copy/paste settings on LR3, in that whenever I copy settings and paste them onto other images, the settings for the Lense Corrections section are always transferred, even though they were not ticked in the copy settings dialog. Can anyone else confirm this is a bug or am I doing something wrong?
Edit: Should have mentioned, LR 3.0, Mac OSX 10.6.4, iMac i7.

Do you have the lens correction box unchecked? or do you just have the four boxes under that hierarchy unchecked?

Password protecting PDF from copy/paste, not secure in Mac "Preview"?

I created a book for someone and sent a PDF of it. I secured it with a password so it can be printed but not edited or copy/paste compatible. When I open the PDF on Acrobat on my PC, its locks me out as it should. I sent to friend and of course its the same way on Acrobat on his Mac. But when he opened it in "Preview" on the Mac, it lets him copy paste. He said he is using OSX Lion 10.7.4.
Why is Mac's viewer bypassing the security and how can I keep it from doing this?

A PDF consumer (viewer) is expected to honor any standard security restrictions that are in place, but there is no way to ensure that every one will. A different method that provides a strong form of security could be used, such as Certificate security or LiveCycle Rights Management (a type of DRM), but then non-Adobe viewers such as Preview wouldn't be able to open the document at all.

Copy-paste not proper

When I copy paste objects as a block (not one by one) in UI it paste all objects into the left top corner as a pile and lose the location data of the original objects. Is it normal or, do I mis anything.

That's probably the designed-in behavior. Unfortunately, it's like that also in Visual Basic. Select a bunch of controls on a form, switch to a new form, paste them, and the whole group of them are pasted so that the upper-leftmost one of them is in the upper left corner. Maybe that's the agreed upon style of doing things -- I don't know. I agree it would be nice if it would paste them in the same relative position on the form, if possible.

Why is copy/paste not working directly?

I have some problems when I try to copy/paste from Illustrator to PhotoShop. There is an error from Illustrator when I try to do so: " The operation cannot complete because of an unknown error. [Parm]".
What I did so far:
     - Do the updates
     - Run Illustrator with the 64bit version
     - Reset default configuration on most of my settings in Illustrator
I found a workaround that allow me to do the operation but takes me a lot longer. I copy the part of the image that I want and then I paste it in a new document in Illustrator. From this new document, I do another Copy and then. it let me paste it to my PhotoShop.

Windows 7 pro 64bit
HP WorkStation Z230 (F1L56UT)
Intel Xeon E3-1245V3 @3.4Ghz
16 Gig
240 Gig SSD + 1000 Gig

You can attach a screenshot of Photoshop when the problem is occurring. It's important that the Layers panel is open in the screenshot. Use Shift+Cmd+3 for a screenshot of the whole screen, which will be dumped on the desktop as a PNG file. Attach the PNG to a forum message by using the little camera button above the message entry field of a reply to this post. Note that attachments won't make it to the forum by email.

Why is Copy & Paste not working on CS5 on my Mac?

I'm using two different .psd files - on one, copy/paste (or Cmd+C, then Cmd+V) works perfectly after I have made a selection - it creates a new layer. On the other, this doesn't happen at all. I would attache the file but I don't think I can...
In any case, they are both simple files for Photoshop beginners. The one started out the same as the other, but I went through some basic steps in my learning, and now I am unable to copy/paste in the second file...

Cannot Drag anything, copy + paste not working

My shiny new macbook was working great until this morning, when things went rather awry.
I have no idea why, but I cannot copy and paste any text (either using apple-c or the edit menu) and I am unable to drag anything such as files or safari interface components. (I somehow managed to get rid of the address bar and I cannot drag it back)
Does anyone have any idea why it would be doing this?
I've just noticed that copy and paste works in TextMate, but not in camino or safari

I can copy/paste on the iMac's Hard Hrive to any folder with no restictions. If I try to copy/paste to an outside source i.e. USB – DVDRW – external HDD or NAS, it does not give the PASTE option in the drop down menu. If I drag and drop a file, I get a circle with the line through it when placed in the folder and does not copy/paste. I think that’s an error or stop signal.
In Mavericks I can copy/paste to a mapped drive on my NAS, only if I first right click on NAS Drive icon and go to ‘Get-Info’ and in the General area’s Tick the ‘Unlock’ box. As soon as I have finished pasting, the lock box ticks again by it's self.
If I right click on the USB and go to ‘Get-Info’, in the General area I only get a Share Folder Tick box and not an Unlock Tick box. Share does not allow paste to activate in the drop-down menu

100% width function is not always available?

i'm building a website for a school project with muse cc. I try to build a full width website. The problem is that sometimes the full width option, the small button on the right top, is not always clickable. i tried to fix the things ( like widgets ) on the sides but this doesn't work either. Please help me with this problem i need to graduate.

Add a empty rectangle to your website, now it should be clickable. press it.
Secondly, at the top of the page you choose fill > choose an image

FCP X Stabilization Box Not Always Available??

I'm not always getting the option to add Stabilization to a clip. It seems to be related to multiclip, but I could be wrong.
Lifting a clip from the storyline doesn't appear to help.
I *need* stabilization for some of these clips! Any help greatly appreciated.

It happens when you remove the audio from clip you had imported.
Well at least that happened to me.
I recorded clips using 5D2, 5D3 and a 1DX with native mic, Rode Mic and a H4N.
Native mic, I replaced the audio with H4N's. Upon doing this, I realised, stablization option is gone.
Pretty sure this is a bug.. Even detaching the audio, bring the volume down, the stablization option goes missing as well.
If I were to stablise the clip BEFORE taking original audio away and use a different source, background task simply hangs at 0%. Had to quit the application and it will prompt/warn me that background task will also quit.
This is however, solved by simpling reducing the volume of clip imported (blue) without detaching audio from clip). So that channel is silent and my new imported audio (from my H4N, green) is dubbed over my clip.
Works like a charm. I think I complicated things myself when I detach the audio (which iswas my workflow!).

Copy/Paste not working in Firefox v23 & v24 without ZoneAlarm installed

Recently I updated my Firefox from version 22 to 23 and I noticed copy and paste text from web pages in Firefox to other applications like notepad and even Firefox not working in my windows 8 x86. Copying text from other apps like notepad and pasting to Firefox works fine!
I also updated it to beta v24 and same problem is still there. I don't have any issue with IE.
BTW I don't have ZoneAlarm Installed.

If it works when you boot Windows in Safe Mode then it is likely that your security software is causing this problem.
Other programs apart form ZoneAlarm can cause such issues as well.
Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?

Design view not always available?

I have a some sites in Dreamweaver CC 2014 but none of them are created in this version, they are created mostly in CS6. But when I open them in CC 2014, some of them seem to have the "design view" available, but som of them not. And I cannot understand why. Anyone having a clue? This is quite annoying since I want the design view....

The new Live View on CC 2014.1 64 bit works faster than Design view did in CC 2014, however, pages take twice as long to open/load on my Win 7 machine.
Also, if the settings are wrong, it is WAY too easy to delete content.
Example: With Split view "Code and Live" (No Design option for PHP pages) it will let m scroll in either Code or Live. If I click content in Live view I can't edit there. If I then click into Code view the entire Body highlights. If I scroll back down to the content I wish to edit and click a blank section of the code (outside of any tags) the entire body is again highlighted and cursor it at the top of this content.
More than once, out of habit, I have scrolled down to a content section, typed a letter and a whole block of content has been replaced with my new letter.
I am convinced this has to do with the new settings and my combinations are not right, but I can't find a combination I like (Can edit either live page or code AND see Fluid Grid background)
Today, I do prefer the previous Code and Design view for my PHP pages

Copy/Past Not Working, New MacBook Pro

Hello! I've seen this issue addressed in a few different forums, but no solution has been offered.
I have a new MacBook Pro and have been having this issue all evening. I can copy and paste in the same window, but I can't copy and paste from a different window, which is kind of the point of paste and copy, at least in my situation.
Can someone help me out?

Often times problems like this are caused by incompatible third party software.
Does this problem persist when logging in as a different user, e.g., Guest?
Does this problem persist when starting up in Safe Mode?
It will probably be helpful to see a system profile via EtreCheck.
