Copy & Paste problem stops working

I've been experiencing an unusual issue with the copy and paste function on my MacBook Pro. The copy & paste function appears to work fine after I've restarted the computer, but after a short period (can be hours or days) the copy & paste function stops working. Instead of copying the highlighted section (usually I'm copying text) when I go to paste the text, all I appear to get is one space. As I use this feature countless time in the run of a day (copying from mail, Daylite, NeoOffice, Text Edit...)this is turning out to be very annoying.
I have recently re-installed "MacOSXUpdCombo10.4.11Intel.dmg" to see if that made any difference, and everything seemed to be working great for about 5 days, then the same issue started again. If I shut down and re-start my Mac, it seems to offer a temporary solution to the issue.
I have not tried re-installing the operating system.

Amazingly, I found this looking for a fix for the exact same problem. Mine started today, though it could have been yesterday as I don't remember using copy or paste yesterday.
The one change I have made in the last 48 hours is that I installed the MS Office SP 1 update that just came out. I know it was working right after that update because I was using copy/paste in Word.
The other difference I've found is that a restart doesn't seem to fix mine. I just restarted and still no copy/paste - just a single space instead. And you're right, it doesn't matter what you copy, it always pastes just a single space.
I've tried CMDC/CMDV and the menu items to the same effect.
I hope someone has an answer.

Your Finder may have lost contact with the clipboard, so try this.
In ~/library/preferences locate these two files and trash them
com.apple.finder.plist
com.apple.sidebarlists.plist
To re-establish them, log out and log back in again.
You will need to reset your finder and sidebar as you had them before.

Apple engineers do not participate here. Have you updated to iOS 8.1 which was just release yesterday? Have you done any other troubleshooting? If you haven't start here.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data
Now close all apps. In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If those three things made no difference, try this. Reset all settings. You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings.
If all of that fails, restore the iOS software. Backup your iPad before you restore, then restore the backup when you are done. If that still doesn't help, restore your iPad as new and start all over again. Most purchased content can be downloaded again at no charge as long as you use the same Apple ID and as long as the content is still available in the store.

Copy & paste problem in photoshot CC

we have a problem whit photoshop cc and Yosemite system.
The function copy & paste does not work more.
If I try to copy text from pdf(whit editable text) or Preview (with editable text), in a fist moment it copy it, but when i try to copy in photoshop, the program take the command but a few second later it makes to see the message " the appunti are empty or not valid"
Help me please, not is possible that the Adobe have this bug or non solve it

Now you're describing a more specific problem with interfacing between Photoshop and Illustrator. I do not have Illustrator or even Acrobat. You could use my way and use Acrobat Reader. If the PDF is not locked it can copy text to the clipboard and that text can be pasted into Photoshop CC 2014 text tool as my append showed.
As I wrote I don't have Illustrator perhaps there are ways to copy layers between it and Photoshop like Photoshop can duplicate layers from one document into an other document. Maybe drag and drop layers between Illustrator and Photoshop. I use a PC so I don't know what bugs there may be in Mac OS versions. Or how they may effect Adobe applications versions.. There are usually more then one way to do things in Photoshop.

Click 2 call and excel copy/paste problems

Recent posts from late May claim that the click to call issues were resolved in late may. Today is June 21/12 and I resolved the problem yesterday by un-installing the click to call program. Prior to that cut and copy requests were losing the marquee around copied cells and when target cells were right clicked the context menu did not include Insert Copied cells.
Some problems may have been addressed but the problem still exists. It's too bad because click to call was a good feature.

Copy Paste doesn't work during and after a remote login session

I am using a Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 laptop to login into Linux. I am using Putty and Xming to SSH and view the desktop. Whenever I start a session the copy paste functionality gets disabled in my laptop,i.e., I cannot copy text from one text
file to another or within the same text file. The copy paste doesn't work even upon closing the connection.
From what I have gathered it is not possible to copy from one computer(host) to another(guest) during a remote login session but I am not able to copy within my windows laptop.
Is there some setting that I need to change to prevent it from happening? What are the possible solutions?

Please restart your PC to check whether you can get back the copy and paste function. It can be caused by some compatibility issue.
Please also run "sfc /scannow", check if it find and fix any errors.

IWork(Keynote, pages and numbers) doesn't work well about the issue of copy & paste problem

I think so, too. the Keynote 6.5 is not working well on Yosemite (Mac OS X 10.10.1).
In my case, I can't copy & paste from some program(particularly analysis program in my case) to Keynote.
So, when I check coping & pasting the graph or image and so on to Powerpoint and other programs (one of Office is such word and 3rd programs), It works well. However It doesn't work at Keynote, page and numbers.
Also, I tried to do the following process to solve this issue

Something is wrong with your installation of Keynote
Try this repair for Keynote, ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:
1 delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote by using AppDelete.
2 restart the Mac;   Apple menu > restart
3 immediately after the start chime, press the shift key until you see the Apple symbol.
         let it fully boot up, it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive
4 when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive then First Aid tab and      click repair disc permissions
5 when complete, restart the Mac normally
6 install Keynote from the Mac App Store

Keynote 6.5 is stable and reliable under Yosemite for most users.
As with all new operating systems and applications, a small number of users find a few problems.
Copy and pasting text from and into Keynote from all the applications I have, work perfectly: the applications include; Safari, Mail, Word, PowerPoint, excel, Pages, Numbers, iMovie, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator.
If you want to place graphics into Keynote, use one of the following methods:
Insert > Coose
click the media button on an image placehoder
click the media button on the tool bar
drag and drop from a Finder window
Copy and pasting images into Keynote is not supported

Copy/Paste Style not working consistently in iOS Pages

I cannot figure out what is going on with iOS Pages Copy/Paste Styles.
Sometimes it works, but often it doesn't. I copy a style, and then select the text I want to paste the style to, and the 'paste style" option doesn't appear. It's as if no style was copied in the first place. Tried multiple times with the same result.
Also, it is not really clear to me WHAT is included in iOS Pages styles. It appears the font and size is included, but not the color. Not sure about other elements (line spacing, etc.). Is this described completely someplace?

I have tested it in my SCOM 2012 SP1 Environment and it worked there from Sealed to Unsealed and Unsealed to Unsealed.
I have no R2 Environment in reach at Moment so i cannot test it there.

InDesign Middle Eastern CS4 copy/paste problem

Hey guys,
I usually work on the US version of InDesign CS4 on a Mac... But for a series of projects I need to do for Dubai, I am using the ME InDesign CS4 on PC.
Sigh.
Now, my problem is, when I copy/paste what our translator sent us from WordPad (I don't have Word installed on the PC side ) It is flipping my text around.
Now, I bought the ME version of InDesign to avoid this problem, as I knew it would be a problem with the US version... So what am I doing wrong? I was following this thread (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/450951) and feel like I have the exact same problem that person had, all the way through to the end.
Can someone further help me out? I need to be able to use this... I have to send everything to press next week!! (eek!)

First of all, you can (should) place the text. Why are you copy/pasting?
Make sure your text is set to use the World-Ready Composer. If the
document started its life in InDesign US, the default composer is
going to be the non-World-Ready one.

OMG HELP...Golive CS2...copy/paste problem

it just happened this past week
on the same page, whenever I copy paste a link, instead of pasting the same short link (say to the next page), the pasted ink goes through my local directory.
i have inspector/ basic//source as Relative ...even edit to relative doesn't work...
EVEN if i move an image on a page, it reverts to an whole directory link...that doesn't work anyways
did I touch something?

hi all
well i THINK i know what's going on.
i have an external drive that has all my jobs. it may be that the drive is corrupt. i did a disk scan and only found a few minor errors that were corrected.
however, the issue is still not working right.
btw, i did a test and copied the job to my internal drive and launched golive from there...the problem was solved.!
so fyi here's what the links look like
images/web_05.gif...when drag/copy this image, i get this
../../../../ 2008 JOBS/jobfolder/jobname/name/images/web_05.gif
the ../ ../ ../ are suppose to me my drive but it's not seeing it

Copy/Paste does not work - iTunes Upgrade 10.5.1.42

A new problem with copy/paste album artwork started with latest iTunes upgrade from:
10.5.x
to
10.5.1.42
Before you could copy (rght-clk or Ctrl-C) an album artwork within iTunes library or iPod and then
paste (rght-clk or Ctrl-V).
This copy/paste feature no longer works. from researching this issue, it seems to be an iTunes issue -
either by Apple design or a bug ?
Any comments ?
Is there an elegant way of reverting back to iTunes 10.5 when the copy/paste feature worked ?

999 times out of 1000 this isn't a Reader problem but a case of bad OCR when the document was put together. More often than not it happens with scanned documents and not those created from text docs.

Pdf creation: filename copy/paste does not work

There seems to be a bug in OSX 10.4 - when printing a document and saving it as a pdf-document you get asked for the filename. At OS X 10.3 you could simply paste in the filename - with OSX 10.4 there is no copy paste possible even if there is a correct name in the clipboard.
I tried it on different macs. I really would need this function. Please fix this bug. It worked before.

I'm not on my Mac to test this, but have you tried using Command+V to paste? It isn't unusual to not be able to access menus & toolbars while certain dialogs have the focus. I honestly can't remember back to 10.3, but if there has been a change it was most likely on purpose, not a bug... although I acknowledge that the definition of "bug" is both variable as well as subjective

Copy/paste functions only work intermittently.

Windows 8; FF 26 -- not working: cut & paste -- not always. I've noticed that copy is greyed out on the edit menu so I can't even do it that way. I have to drag the selected text.
I don't have zone alarm or any of the other things other people have installed. Is there a solution to this yet?
