Copy / Paste Same Button on Many Pages

I have to copy & paste a simple button on every page of a lengthy document. (Hundreds of pages.)
Is there an easy way to paste the button in the same place on every page, or do I have to do it manually, over a very long period of time?
(Also, is it tough to paste the button in a specific position, or do I have to eyeball it for every one?)

Yes, I used the object select button. I've had some other issues and
think that the problem is that there isn't enough memory on my computer.
I've asked IT to increase that, hoping that will help.

After several attempts, one may understand that they don't apply to attributes inserted "by hand" with cmd + B for instance but to "styles" defined in the Styles drawer.

How to create same button on two page in a tab control?

Now we are here again :-) We have a tabcontrol and want to be able to press the same button (a button that stops the program) on both pages of the tabcontrol. How can we do this?

It's not the function isn't developed. It's just that every object on the front panel has a corresponding object on the block diagram. Attached is an example of how to do it with two buttons.
By the way, if you've run out of room on your panel, it probably means your interface is too crowded. If that is so, I suggest you add more pages to the tab to make your interface more clear.

Copy/paste testframe from a master page ?

Hi,
A layout has been made by a designer. He uses a lot of properties (rotation, odd corner, gradient ...) for each of his elements (textFrame).
From this layout, I have to create an automatic layout from his work (I'm using InDesign CS5). That mean I should recreate the properties in Javascript for several elements.
I was wondering if it would be better to use a Master page with all of those elements in it and then using of the "copy/paste" to call my elements.
According to you, is it a good way to proceed ?
By the way, I have some problems to select a textframe in my master page...
Here is what I use to access to my textFrame element :
myDocument.masterSpreads.item("A-MyName").pages.item(0).textFrames.item("MyBlocName")

I use the script label to name my textframes.
I define the names myself in a MasterPage especially reserved to contain those textFrames ready to be copied and pasted, so I suppose there won't be two identical names !
There's no other way to proceed than with an instruction FOR ?
Something direct like : myMasterPage.item("MyBlocName").copy() ?
(I don't really know how copy/paste function works in Indesign Javascript Scripting...)
By the way, I tried to use the exemple like this (to see if it works) :

Adding multiple images to site and how to avoid copying/pasting identical text on different pages

Hi guys, I've been using DW up till now and have been recommended to try Muse.
A couple of questions that I have been unable to answer by searching ...
1) I want to transfer all images from my old DW site but can't find a way to add these to the new site's assets. Can I only add images manually to a page for them to appear under assets?
2) In DW I used iframes to have the same text appear on different parts of a site. This means that when text about a product changes, it updates in every instance rather than me having to copy and paste into the different instances. Is an iframe the best process in Muse or is there a better way?

Hi Jo,
You can't add the images directly to the assets folder directly. You need to add the images to the pages for them to appear under assets.
For updating text in every instance, the best way to do so in Muse is to place the text on a Master page and apply it to all the desired child pages. So all you would needed to do is to update the text on the master page and it will updated on all the associated child pages.

When I try to send a webpage in Firefox (file-email link), Thunderbird crashes. If I copy & paste same link by hand, it works. Why is this?

When I try to send a web link in Firefox (file-email link), Thunderbird hangs, or I should say the email with the link hangs. The new email shows the link, I add an email address and click send, Thunderbird hangs and never completes the send. I have to copy and paste the link by hand in a new email and then it works. It seems to be an issue regarding how Firefox and Thunderbird are communicating.
My server uses IMAP. I don't have this problem with POP, but I prefer to use IMAP.

Copy paste buttons

Hey,
I frequently need to copy paste groups of several element, which include buttons, into frames (in order to create scrollable frames for DPS), and every time I do that with a "Go to State" buttons, they lose their properties and I have to recreate them, which is pretty cumbersome to do, and especially so when the button isn't in the visible part of the frame.This happens both in CS5.5 and CS6
Is there any way to past a button into a frame without losing the button's action?

@Bob – yesterday I began writing a script snippet that is something like a proof of concept, that it is possible to duplicate a button to a rectangle or any kind of object that can hold a button object.
But before presenting that, let me explain its basic functionality.
1. In scripting we have one principle method to get a duplicate of a button object and therefore not losing the target MSO information: the duplicate() method.
2. duplicate() applied to a "Button" object will not get us in the right direction, because the target of the duplicate() method can only be a "Spread", a "Page" or a "Layer". Or you could move the duplicated button with x/y values on a spread or a page. The target could not be a rectangle or a state in an MSO. So this seems to be a dead end.
3. But, and here comes the clue, you are able to move or duplicate a "Character" or a "Texts" object from one text frame to another. And this is the key to a possible solution:
If you are working with anchored objects ("Button", "Groups of Buttons" or any other object that you could paste inside of an insertion point in a text frame), you could duplicate or move that object around. The "Button" in this case is simply represented as a "Character" object that flows with the text frame.
For "Texts" objects (and a single character (=anchored button) is a subset of "Texts") the duplicate() method supports the following parameters:
1. The position of the duplicated character in regards of the target insertion point or text:
LocationOptions.AFTER
Places the object after the reference object.
LocationOptions.AT_BEGINNING
Places the object at the beginning of the containing object.
LocationOptions.AT_END
Places the object at the end of the containing object.
LocationOptions.BEFORE
Places the object before the reference object.
LocationOptions.UNKNOWN
No location specified.
2. The target (a "Texts" object, a insertion point, a character, a word, a paragraph) could be the same text frame of the original anchored button or a different text frame. And that could be a new text frame, that could be easily added to a rectangle, a state of an MSO etc.pp. with:
myRectangle.textFrames.add();
That implies we only need two ingredients to make that concept work:
A source text frame and a target text frame.
The source is a text frame that holds an anchored button and should be easily identified by the script. The user (you) could do this by renaming it in the Layers Panel. Just replace its generic name "<Textframe>" with "Source".
The target could be a rectangle. For ease of use it could be a selected rectangle and the script will work with the selection.
What the script is doing:
It identifies the source text frame by its name (therfore it should be unique in the document) and duplicates all its characters (eg. the anchored button, but could be any anchored object) to a new text frame that will be added on the fly to the selected rectangle.
And here comes the script (JavaScript):

It's not exactly the thing you like to do, because it requires some preparations:
you have to anchor the object you like to duplicate,
you have to define the target MSO after you anchored the source button,
you have to rename the text frame
and:
you get an additional text frame at the target rectangle and that is adding some complexity to the structure of your document, but hey, it's working…
Here are some screen grabs to illustrate the preparation of the source and showing the results after running the script:
1. Prepare the button as an anchored object (sorry, but the UI is in German, but I think you'll get it):
2. Rename the source text frame from "<Textframe>" to a unique name.
In this case: "Source":
3. Define the target MSO in the button at that stage.
By copy/paste the button to the text frame you already lost the target MSO.
4. Select the target rectangle you want to duplicate the button to:
(the green rectangle represents the first state of the MSO on this spread. It's just an example)
5. Run the script:
6. Inspect the results:
6.1 The button sits in the selected rectangle
6.2 To be precise: it's the first character in a text frame that is added to the target rectangle.
The added text frame has the exact size and position of your selection:
6.3 Inspect the button: the target is not lost. The MSO is still addressed by the button:
Instead of a single button as the source, you could use a variety of objects:
groups, several buttons anchored one after another etc.pp.
And remember: this is just a proof of concept so error management is hardly implemented.

How to add a single Button to multiple pages

.....using Acrobat 9 pro Extended?
I wish to place a single Button, (containg the same action), onto nearly 1000 pages in the same document, without having to laboriously copy/paste to each and every page. How can this be achieved please?
I have tried selecting all the thumbnail pages in the Navigation pane, but the Paste function becomes disabled.
Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Buttons on Master Page not exporting correctly

I have a interactive catalog in InD CS5 with vector navigation buttons on the master page in the upper left hand corner.
When I export this as an interactive pdf the buttons disappear. However if I copy the same buttons to different areas of the page they show up. Any ideas what is going on? (see images below, image one is the master page, image two is the pdf) I want the buttons to remain in the upper left corner, but it seems there is something wrong with the left side of the page.-?

Create Item button on personalization page.

Hi,
I have Personailze Self Service Defn profile option enabled at site level. (User also set to YES).
However I don't see create item button on many pages personalization screen, (like HomePage, or some other page).
And on functional administrator responsibility's any page (like profile page in core, create Item is there).
Its been checked on other instances that the create item button appears there for the same pages in problem.
What can be the reason?

Hi,
Talked to Anil enabled "FND: Personalization Seeding Mode / FND_PERSONALIZATION_SEEDING_MODE" personalization link. It worked (even though the documentation says that its only for oracle's internal usage).
Also related diagnostic story got via other cooleague with deeper cause of the problem and solution.
Need to set system profiles to change old personalizations - expected?

How can i paste text from Numbers too Pages without getting the box/frames?

I have a big list in numbers with a lot of text in each line. I need to copy/paste it in to a pages document but i don't want the frames to come along.

Pasting from a Numbers table into Pages will paste a table (frames). There is no "Convert Table to Text" command in Pages 5.
Paste into TextEdit. That will strip all formatting (including the table) and leave plain text. If your Numbers table had more than one column, the text will become Tab-Delimited. Before you paste into TextEdit, make sure the blank document is plain text (if you see Make Rich Text under the Format menu, you have a plain text document).
Select All, Copy, then Paste into Pages.

Asha 501 copy & paste

The copy and paste function is very poor compared to asha 210, at times u can copy but no option to paste, at times no even copy option. Eg. In the case of contact, there is no copy option when editing phone numbers.

Not only the copy paste is missing but many more things are missing.
Like we
1- cannot send files from memory card..
If we want to send image we have to use Gallery..
If want to send song need to use music..
This has created problem that unsupported file cannot be sent now.
In the older asha phone we were able to send files from memory card also..
2- We cannot take backup of separate thing like Message contacts etc.
It directly backups every thing..
And many more things are missing..
Hope Nokia fix this soon..

Copy paste clipboard Microsoft 2007 - It retains images I copy before and will not copy a new image

I have Windows XP and Microsoft office 2007. I had to choose 2010 forum because there was no 2007...sorry
I am trying to copy images from the Internet and I am able to copy the image but it will paste the first image I copy. It is not happening with the text though, only images. I highlight and copy a different image and it will paste again the first opne I
copied. I have also done it through keyboard shortcuts and it will not do what it needs to do.
I have copy pasted same images in the body of my aol emails and they copy ok. They also copy ok on the clipboard shortcut I made for clipboard , but it refuses to copy them on a new file in Microsoft word document. This started happening about a week ago.
I have not installed a new program so I don't know the reason.
I have defragmented, scan disk. I did scan disk simple and the one that recovers bad sectors. Rebooted computer, cleaned history, cleaned temp files. I am not very computer inclined, but I do know how to do these last I listed and I also have run Norton
If anyone replies to this message keep in mind I can follow instructions, but if they are too intricate I might mess up :( I wanted to know if there is a way of resetting Microsoft (I dont have the CD anymore) without uninstalling it. Any help yoou
can throw my way will be appreciated. If there is anything else you need to know please let me know. I will be checking often.

It's ok you don't have the CD, just go to the Start Menu > All Programs > Microsoft Office > Microsoft Office Tools, and then click on
Microsoft Office Diagnostics. Run Diagnostics to proceed with diagnosis and repair.
Check if it helps after running the Diagnostics.
