Copy/pasted HTML code hit or miss in previews

The site I'm currently working on contains several HTML widgets from various sources. Most of them are visible in the preview mode, but 2 do not (blank). One is a music player (via SoundCloud) & the other is a photo gallery (via Bandpage). I've sampled the codes in JSbin & they both work perfectly well -- outside of Muse. Has anyone else experienced something similar... will they work once uploaded live?! Thx.

Go to File -> Preview Page In Browser and see if it works properly. Even if it does, we'd appreciate it if you sent your file to [email protected] so we can have a look.

Hi Thanks for reply,but my dear freind as I written in my previous mail also that I am having account in google adsense and as per the given instructions only,when i try to paste the html code,which was generated from their adsense adposting , i try to paste that code after opening the html sources box,that code was not accepted.The html source window was slightly blocked.
And for your information i am not try to paste any other code from any otherwebsite like word press etc

Paste html code into dreamweaver 8

I'm creating my 1st website in Dreamweaver 8, and am trying
to include a photo gallery. I haven't got as far as learning Flash
yet, but Ive found a piece of html code that will do what I want
and am now trying to place it on my dreamweaver file. I don't know
how to do this though, can anyone help please?

i think maybe you have answered your own question in your
title.
simply copy the html code from where ever it is and paste it
into your DW page. paste it in using the code view though not the
design view in DW.
if your not sure where abouts to paste it in the code view
then just go to design view and with your mouse select with one
click on the area of page that you want the gallery to go, for
example in the right cell of your table. then go back to code view
and you'll see that the curser will be in the right place - then
paste!

IWeb hangs (spinning beachball) when I try to paste HTML code from DW-why?

Can anyone tell me why this might be happening? When I try and paste HTML code from Dreamweaver using Web Widgets. Then the only solution is to Force Quit which means I lose any other work I've already done in iWeb. Anyone else had this problem? Is there a workaround?

Copy-paste HTML from firefox to Apple Mail

When I try to copy-paste from Firefox 3 to Apple Mail, it only pastes simple text into my email message. It does not paste images or HTML-formatted text. Does anyone know a work around?
This works for Safari to Apple Mail. I use "View in Safari" firefox add-on to make it easier to bounce to Safari when I need it. However, I would LOVE to get this working in Firefox. Any suggestions?

Copy Paste HTML to Excel Word issue

Web site used for business has "printable excel view". In prior versions of Firefox I could copy and paste into word or excel. In version 4, it locks up Word with

In Excel 2003 in does nothing when I click paste. However I can paste with Unicode or text but not HTML.... When I say nothing I mean nothing happens. Tried thru IE and that works like 3.6 worked, just fine.

I reinstalled, removed, restarted, tried the Table add on, nada zip will get it to work.
Do not get a crash, but you right click, select paste and the page blinks, but nothing is on the page. IE works just like before 5.0. all versions of 4 did work.

There are multiple ways in which you can add the HTML code to your site. Few methods are :-
1) Copy your HTML code, In Muse -> Select Objects-> Insert HTML . Paste your HTML code on the page. Please reer to this screenshot :- http://prntscr.com/52vprn

Help! Can't paste into code view or property inspector

I'm experiencing a weird and extremely annoying bug in Dreamweaver CS6 -- I can't paste text from outside apps into DW's code view or into the property inspector (such as URLs).
Pasting doesn't work no matter the method: Ctrl + V, right-clicking or using the Edit menu. Pasting works normally in every other program. If I copy within Dreawmweaver, pasting works fine.
Does anyone have a solution for this? I'm running Win 8 and DW 12.1 through Creative Cloud. Searching the forums, I see others have reported the same issue. Some have been able to fix it by deleting the configuration file; that didn't fix the issue for me. I'd like to try reinstalling DW, but the Adobe Application Manager doesn't seem to allow that.
I began noticing this bug about two weeks ago. That might have been about the same time I updated to 12.1. Can anyone help?

Adding to my last post, I used a clipboard format inspector called nclip (http://code.google.com/p/nclip/) to see if I could find a pattern between "what works" and "what doesn't".
There are two cases where I'm seeing paste-into-Dreamweaver CS6 fail:
Paste into Code View fails, but Paste into Design View works!
Paste into either Code View or Design View fails
I went through the list of programs that worked and didn't worked, using nclip to show what clipboard formats were being saved from each working and non-working source. It appears that DreamWeaver CS6 as of January 9, 2013 doesn't accept the most basic text clipboard formats:
CF_UNICODETEXT
CF_TEXT
CF-OEMTEXT
CF_LOCALE
If these are the only clipboard formats used by an app (for example, Window's venerable Notepad.exe), Dreamweaver doesn't appear to handle them. Most programmer-style text editors output just these formats, because they are presumed to be understood any application that handles text. These fail for both pasting into codeview and design view.
Interestingly, Chrome browser fails the code view test, but it does work in design view! It outputs the four clipboard types above, plus one more:
Custom Format: HTML Format
Hypothesis 1: Any application that puts HTML Format on the clipboard will paste into design view, but not necessarily code view.
Next, Visual Studio 2010 and Sticky Notes, which doesn't include HTML Format as a clip type, works for both code view and design view. They both output this type in addition to the basics:
Custom Format: Rich Text Format
Two programs that output Rich Text Format without HTML Format are Sticky Notes and WordPad. These both work with Code View and Design View. From these limited tests on my system, it appears that for Dreamweaver to accept a text paste from an outside program into Code View, that program must output Rich Text Format to the clipboard. Otherwise, it fails. Dreamweaver will accept HTML Format, but only in Design View. Firefox is an exception in that it don't export Rich Text Format, but still works with Code View. It might use OLE, though (Chrome doesn't seem to use OLE, and it breaks in code view).
Hypothesis 2: Any application that puts Rich Text Format on the clipboard will paste into design view AND code view.
If Dreamweaver is really ignoring the basic text clipboard formats, and it's not just my system configuration, then this is a bug. Probably something that got overlooked in testing.
To reproduce on Dreamweaver 12.1 build 5966:
Try copy/pasting text from Notepad.exe into Dreamweaver Code View (DWCV). This fails for me.
Try copy/pasting text from WordPad.exe into DWCV. This works!
Try copy/pasting text from Internet Explorer 9 or Firefox into DWCV. This works!
Try copy/pasting text from Chrome. This fails to paste into Code View, but does paste into Design View
The Code View workaround:
Use Firefox or Internet Explorer for your browser if you're copy/pasting source code.
If you're working from another text editor, try copy/pasting into intermediate programs Sticky Notes or WordPad, then copy/paste from there into Dreamweaver.
So that is my experience on Windows 7 64-bit. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

Copying Visual Studio Code into Robohelp

Hi,
I'm using Robohelp HTML 6 and I'm trying to transfer example
code from visual studio into my robohelp project. However, when I
copy/paste the code, all of the formatting is lost (mainly colors).
The project I'm working on was done years ago by another
individual (whom I no longer have contact with) and contains code
examples in the format I'm going for. I can't imagine he went
through each example, and indivdually selected a style for each
word/line. I've tried editing pages in microsft word (which retains
the styles of the copied code) but once I save the file....Robohelp
never lets me edit the file in Robohelp again (complains about the
file being edited by a third party editor and launches it in MS
word). Can anyone tell me how to retain styles when importing the
code? Is it possible to develop macros to search my examples and
reformat them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have style set up for each color/text type already. Is
their a way to search through the text and apply a certain style to
all occurances of a word?
For example: make all "if" instances in this block of text
blue?
Applying the style to unformatted text would be a great
solution as long as I don't have to manually go through, select a
word, and select the style FOR EACH WORD.....I'd be
selecting/formatting for weeks.
Also, the replace function doesn't seem to have an option to
select styles for replacements (or im just not using it
right).

In addition to the other good replies, there are options available to
copy my html code en use it in Dreamweaver
.... to some extent anyway, yes you can use DW to edit and review the HTML that will eventually be used in WordPress. After all, HTML is HTML, whether it's used in WP or a static site.
So for example, if you are creating a new post and want to preview it a few times as you are putting it together, you can do all that prelim work in DW. You can even copy your WP theme style.css, save that on your local hard drive and link to that in the <head> just like you would any other .css sheet. Then you can review the HTML plus "styles" as you are creating the new post, even without having a local server.
But keep in mind that you are just doing a prelim "post" creation of the HTML that will be displayed on the page. Once that is done and you are satisfied with the look, then copy all the HTML between the <body> and </body> and paste that into WP as a new "post" using the HTML tab. If you have images or videos that are to be included in the "post" it usually best to add this in WP itself, since the links and paths may be dynamically added,

I get the layout formatted and edited as I want and then paste the HTML into WP. Personally I think the editing capability of WP is pretty limited, the space is small, sometimes the editing text will flip back up to the top of the post...yada yada yada... so I just don't want to edit HTML in WP when I have a nice big area in DW. This site also has a special "videos" folder for self hosted video. Since I know the exact path to those video files (they are not dynamically created) I can hard code the absolute path in while I'm doing the prelim HTML creation in DW... so the only thing I need to add later are the images.
So can you use DW to edit/create "HTML content? Yes, as long as you understand that once you finish the creation or edits, you will be copy/pasting that in WP. In addition you can use DW to create and test navigation menus, header banners, and other HTML content that will then eventually be copy/pasted into various .php files.. header.php, sidebar.php etc if you decide to customize your theme. If you are trying to edit HTML it's a heck of a lot easier in DW.

Copy paste of components are not working properly

Hi,I am using ADF 11.1.1.3 and dynamic components.
I had created a page fragment which has lots of components let say 60 components.
Now i have to create another page which will also have the same no and type of components. I want to copy paste the components and create a new page.
But I am not able to do the same.
When i copy paste the page fragment its not working ...(bindings are not created on new page) and other issues also...
Just wanted to know do we have to do any thing specific should be done to copy paste fragment code or its not possible.

actually bindings are not copy and pasted. What you can do is to copy and paste the fragment, edit the DataBindings.cpx file and create an entry for the new fragment .jsff and point it to the PageDef file that already existed for the fragment you copy and pasted the content from.
Alternatively (and my recommendation to you), create the content you otherwise would copy and paste in a page template and make sure the page template has a binding file (checkbox). Then build your fragments from the page template file and thus all will have data bound components

Cannot Copy/Paste into Find and Replace

Help! I used to be able to do this, but now I cannot seem to
copy/paste source code into the Find and Replace dialog box. I am
stumped as to why this is a problem. I am running Dreamweaver MX

Did you notice this annoying enhancement in 10g : you cannot copy-paste the listing of the current line because of the star marking the current line.
