Copy playlist to SD card

My new Volks will accept a SD card for media input - how do I put a playlist on the card so it plays in the correct order?
Terry

Once the files are copied to the card you can do what you want. The way I do this is copy the files to the card.  Start iTunes while holding down the option key and make a new library for use with the card (not 100% necessary but it means I won't end up with broken links in my main iTunes).  Hold down the option key while dragging the files from the card back to an iTunes playlist. The option key prevents them from being copied back to the main drive.  Now go to the Dougscripts web site and look up a script for generating track names using metadata from your iTunes files.  You can probably come up with some combination that generates names in the order your wife wishes to play the tracks.

  • Copy playlists to SD card?

Is it possible to copy playlist from iTunes to a SD card with both original musinc as well as purchased music from the store? If so, how do you do it? I have SanDisk reader and connected it thru USB port. It shows up on the desktop but I cannot drag and drop playlists to the drive. Advice?
    Thanks!

I think you should be able to go into your playlist, select All, then drag and drop the group onto your SD card and iTunes should make copies of all the songs on the card.
At least on a Mac it works that way.

  • Nano3rdgen Copying playlist from itunes to ipod and it says it can't copy certain songs to ipod cos of file type. These problem songs all from same album, all ACC file type and all copied fine when I copied the album itself few weeks ago-help!

When copying playlist from itunes to nano3rd message comes saying 9 of songs can't be copied to ipod cos of file type. These 9 are all from same album, all ACC and all copied fine when I copied the album itselm some weeks ago.  Rest of playlist was ACC too.  P.S. album is a CD-R copied version-is this an issue? HELP I AM DESPAIRING!

I never laughed in all my life. Here I was, inserting the cd Dance with Me, thinking it's not going to copy the whole thing. yeah, right.
Sure, it prompted me, Do I want to replace the songs, so of course I said "no, don't replace the songs". and guess what it did. It copied the whole cd (at least I got my two songs).
I went into the itunes library, and sure enough, all the songs were there twice. So what did my intelligent brain think of? I just unchecked the doubled songs and stuck my ipod into my computer and it synched up and I got what I wanted.
Now what did I do wrong when it prompted me. I clicked on "don't replace" and it replaced them anyway.
Am I dumb? or is itunes stupid?
    thanks, Melody

  • How to copy playlists form ipod classic into iTunes 12

I need help transferring my playlist into my iTunes 12 library. My computer crashed and I was only able to get my music library re-installed in  iTunes but my playlists did not show up. Does anybody know how to copy playlists from my I-pod classic into the iTunes 12 .

I have two scripts for recovering data from devices; ImportDevicePlaylists to import the playlists, and SyncStats to import the ratings and play/skip counts/dates.
The user tip Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device has more information on recovering content from devices, but if you have all of the media then the scripts above will probably cover everything that else than can usefully be recovered, though you should still backup and then restore iOS devices.
See Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy to ensure you have a full backup of your library in future.

    Hi Rishi,
it is very interesting to read a 'first' inquiry about the balanced scorecard concept. You've found a very rich topic to educate yourself in. Personally, having worked in this area for almost eight years now, I would divide this topic in two main aspects:
<b>1) Balanced Scorecard as methodology:</b> there are several great publications on this topic by the 'fathers' of this concept (Drs. Kaplan & Norton, see the response by Manish, too). The following two are key in my opinion and they've helped me a lot understand the theory:
    - <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Balanced-Scorecard-Translating-Strategy-Action/dp/0875846513/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/104-6553279-1939130?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1190017043&sr=8-1">The Balanced Scorecard: Translating Strategy into Action</a>
    - <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Strategy-Focused-Organization-Scorecard-Companies-Environment/dp/1578512506/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3/104-6553279-1939130?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1190017043&sr=8-3">The Strategy-Focused Organization: How Balanced Scorecard Companies Thrive in the New Business Environment</a>
Some additional basic info can be found on Wikipedia, too:
    <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Balanced_scorecard">Wikipedia - balanced scorecard</a>
<b>2) Balanced Scorecard as supported by SAP applications:</b> I would recommend you to have a look at a new strategy/performance management solution of SAP called SAP Strategy Management (SSM) which replaced the older Balanced Scorecard app of Strategic Enterprise Management (SEM). More info on SAP SSM can be found e.g. <a href="http://here">http://www.sap.com/solutions/performancemanagement/index.epx</a>. SSM supports the Balanced Scorecard methodology but at the same time it is methodology-agnostic and can be used for all performance management methodologies based on objectives, KPI's and initiatives. SSM is based on technology acquired by SAP with a company called Pilot earlier this year.

hello everyone. I have recently installed a Samsung SSD (solid state hard drive) into my destop PC. For some reason Lightroom does not see it ? So i cannot ingest photos from it, or copy photos from a card to it. It is not listed as a drive option. LR sees every other drive. My computer sees it fine, so i was able to create a catalogue there. Im running windows 8.1. Any ideas ? I will also add that this drive became corrupt and was repaired by Samsung. Maybe they didn't do a very good job.. ..

Yes pretty much that, but to clarify sorry
    Opened Lightroom.
    Create new catalogue.
This opened the Windows 8 file explorer window and Windows recognises the drive. So I was able to create a catalogue there and save.
I then inserted my memory card into my card reader which LR recognised. I selected it, chose all the photos within and then navigated to the right side of the Lr import dialogue window to locate this problem drive as on this occasion i want the RAW files on the same drive as the lrcat. However all my other drives are listed but not this Samsung SSD.
In addition this Samsung SSD is not listed a drive to import from in the same dialogue window.

  • Copying Playlists and Playlist Folders from iTunes to an iPod

I have my music library structured in iTunes with Playlist Folders (for Composers) which contain Playlists (for Works). Now I am having trouble duplicating this structure on my iPod.
Just after Playlist Folders were introduced in iTunes, the iPod (mine is a 160GB Classic) didn't support Folders at all. But in some later version suddenly it did. Great! Everything seemed fine. But now, when I try to copy a Playlist Folder by Drag and Drop to the iPod, on the iPod it ends up just as a Playlist (not a Folder), at least as seen by iTunes (v8.2.1 (6)). Actually on the iPod itself, the folder structure (under Composers) is displayed but iTunes shows the entry just as a Playlist. I've tried disconnecting the iPod and restarting iTunes but that didn't help.
Am I doing something wrong in the copying? Can anyone suggest how I can copy Playlist Folders to the iPod so that iTunes displays them as Plalist Folders there?

Many thanks again for the extensive answer.

Once you have the playlist sorted correctly in iTunes, then use the "Copy to play order" command I mentioned and then re-sync the iPod. The sort order on the playlist on the iPod should then match the order in iTunes. If not, then I suspect you're doing something wrong.
I did use the "Copy to play order" command as you described. The problem I have is that, although the play orders all look fine when seen from iTunes (both for the music library and when looking at the iPod), on the iPod itself the order is not correct. Quite likely I'm doing something wrong but I haven't been able to discover what
    rockmyplimsoul wrote:
Do you mean "Structure" as in playlist folder/plalist structure, or do you mean "Sort order"? If you are auto-syncing the iPod then the playlist folder/playlist hierarchy should transfer exactly as it is in iTunes.
Understanding "Structure" may be part of the problem. Maybe I'm trying to do something that is impossible. I have built my private structure in iTunes, using Playlist Folders for composers and then Playlists (within the Folder) for each work of that composer, e.g.
    -Playlist Folder: Wagner
    --Playlist: Wagner - Das Rheingold
    ----Track 1
    ----Track 2
    --Playlist: Wagner - Götterdämmerung
    ----Track 1
    etc.
That works fine (for me) in iTunes.
On the iPod, though, you get something similar via Composers but I don't really believe that the iPod is using my structure. Rather I think it finds the composers via the Composer tag in the "songs"/tracks and then makes groupings depending on the album. That works out similar to my structure, for I define albums for each work. However, I'm not really convinced that my playlists as such are used at all on the iPod, even after syncing (as evidenced in the example where I had two playlists in iTunes with the same album name and they were merged when seen on the iPod).
That aside, it still doesn't explain why the play order is sometimes (but not always) mucked up when looked at directly on the iPod, when the same work's play order looks fine when the iPod's contents are displayed by iTunes.
At the moment I remain confused and puzzled. I won't now be able to follow the problem further till after the weekend but maybe next week I'll try deleting the playlists which are causing me trouble (with the play order) and redefine them, to see whether the confused play order happens again.

  • Copying playlist through Home sharing or through any mean

I have a new pc and I'm trying to copy my playlist from the old machine to the new one. I copied all of the music using Home Sharing but it seems you cannot copy a playlist through home sharing.
    1. Does anyone know how to copy playlists using Home Sharing or
    2. Does anyone know any other method of copying playlists from my old machine to the new?

There is no such thing  as "home sharing sync".
iOS devices can be synced via the cable or if running iOS5 or later via Wi-Fi.
iPods (nano's, classics) must be synced via the cable.

  • Copy playlist with music?

Hi, I would like to put all my itunes library only on my home computer and clean the other one. I want to have more space on my work computer. Is it possible to just copy playlist with files to my work computer? So, in this way, I will just have the music I want to listen to rather than all the other one? In fact, I just want to copy my music files from playlist like it does in the iphone. All the other songs who are not in the playlist will not be copied. Also, I can't access to the home computer when I'm work, So those musics files must be copied in my work computer.
    Thanks in advance!
    azurjo

To just copy selected media from one machine to another:
In iTunes, select the playlist whose contents you want to copy
Select all the albums/songs within the playlist
Drag and drop the selected items from iTunes to an open Windows Explorer window - if you're using a USB thumb drive or external drive, drop the items there.
iTunes will copy all the media files across
On your work machine, either use File > Add Folder to Library... to add the media from your thumb drive / external drive to iTunes, or copy the media files to the Automatically Add to iTunes folder within your iTunes Media folder (normally found at C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes)
Not quite the same as syncing from iTunes to an iDevice but still workable.
The other option would be to replicate your complete library to an external drive (see Turingtest2's notes on Backup your iTunes for Windows library with SyncToy for a suitable method).  Then connect this external drive to your work computer, hold down Shift while you start iTunes and when you see this prompt:
select Choose Library..., navigate to the folder that contains your library on the external drive (if you follow the recommended approach referenced above, this will be X:\iTunes, substituting the drive letter of your external HDD for the "X"), select the iTunes Library.itl file you find there, and click Open.
This second option may be preferable as you don't need to use any space on the work computer's internal drive for media storage and, as long as you refresh the external drive periodically you're also maintaining an up to date backup of your "master" library - always a good practice.

  • Export itunes playlist on SD card

Hi, I want to export a playlist from itunes on to an SD card. Is there a way to do this (other than drag&drop or Copy/Paste) so that I can keep the order in which the tracks are organised on my itunes playlist?

Basically it's the file naming structure that's important.  Ignore burning instructions.
Do not rename the copies used by iTunes!  Put them on your card and rename those copies.
You will have to read your car's manual for what it says about media playback.  Just about every player is different.

  • How to copy playlists to new system?  Have multiple IPODs on one computer..

I have recently upgrade the C drive on my system and did a clean install of Windows XP pro. In the process I have re-installed Itunes. The music itself (mp3 files..) is on a seperate hard drive. My problem is that I now have Itunes restored showing all 24,000 songs. But I don't have the original playlists. The playlists are critical because they determine how the seperate IPODs are synced up. Is there some way to create a playlist from the IPOD onto ITUNEs? Can a playlist be copied from one system to another? So far I have not been able to get the old playlists recovered....
... it sure seems like some of these issues would be prety common and you'd think Apple would have a graceful way of dealing with it....

The playlists are stored in the iTunes library files. These should have been copied/backed up before upgrading. There are programs available to transfer from iPod to iTunes. I have never used them so I don't like making recommendations.
