Copy protection in  Adobe Encore DVD 2.0

I use Encore 1.0, and it doesn't have much to offer in the way of copy protection (you have to master to a special kind of tape, and go through some more hoops). Does Version 2.0 offer a more user-friendly way to keep ones DVD's from being copied at will by one's customers?

Hi Steven,
Up until 4 weeks ago, copy protection for recordable DVDRs was not available, however it now is. The copy Protection available is Macrovision's RipGuard anti-ripping copy protection which already protects over 200 million of Hollywood's DVDs. Macrovision has completed the rework of RipGuard to allow it's implimentation on Recordable DVD, and in the last 30 days we have already protected over 2000 Recordables.
On top of that is is very affordable, ranging from just a few dollars per disc, to less than a dollar per disc based upon quantities from 1 DVDR to 500+ DVDR.
Currently we are the only licensed and accredited Provider of this service in the U.S. because of our long standing partnership with Macrovision and their confidence in our quality control systems and infrastructure.
Beginning Monday, June 25th, we launch our national marketing campaign for RipGuard-MOD, and you will be reading about it in trade journals everywhere.
I invite you to give me a call and I would be happy to provide you with more information and pricing. You can also visit: www.RipGuardMOD.com for more information and to download the RipGuard MOD Datasheet.
I look forward to speaking with you.
Sincerely,
Tim Montague

  • Adobe encore dvd 1.5 simply create a dvd

I am new to Encore. I just want a simple step by step to burn a dvd with my translated norwegian subtitles. I have created a timeline and in preview everything is ok. But my subtitles will nott show when I burn a DVD

Thank you, but that is not the problem. When I open the DVD I created there is no subtitles to show.

Subtitles must be turned on to see them on the DVD.
You can use the remote control for your DVD player to turn subtitles on and off. You can do that now to see whether you actually succeeded in including them on your DVD. If you did, users can use the remote control and you are all done.
If you want them to appear when a user starts the disk, you can set them on by default. See "Set the Default ... Subtitle Track here:

A user can turn them off with their remote, or yoiu can create menus for this. See "Set buttons to select audio or subtitle tracks" on the same link above.

  • Can I Purchase Standalone Adobe Encore DVD

    Hi,
I have an old copy of Adobe Encore DVD (ver 1.5), I said 'old'.  Am I to understand that I can’t purchase just the Encore DVD application without the Creative Cloud?
    Thanks for the help,
    Jerry

Encore DVD is dead. The last version was CS6 and it was bundled with Premiere Pro, but that is only available in the suites. You're too late to the party and without spending a lot of money there is no way to get a newer version of Encore.

  • 4:3 and 16:9 mix onto one Adobe Encore DVD

Using Adobe Encore DVD, I have made a 4:3 and 16:9 mix of movie timelines and menus on one DVD.
Encore previews the mix of 4:3 and 16:9 movies/menus in the one project correctly.
The dvd disc I made plays 4:3 and letterbox 16:9 on my 4:3 TV correctly.
The dvd disc I made plays 4:3 and 16:9 in InterVideo DVD on my computer OK.
Why when I take the disc to the shop to view on a widescreen monitor does it not show each aspect ratio correctly. I hope it is just a setting there but we tried many settings on the DVD player and on the monitor. When 4:3 played correctly, 16:9 did not and vica versa.
Is it me or the shop?
    This page was helpful http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/329473.html
    Thanks, freddo

We were just stuggling with this for some time, and eventually discovered that we were not properly using Encore.
We had two videos:  one as 4:3, the other as 16:9.
We created a menu, brought the videos into the timeline, linked everything properly, but would not get the expected results.
We eventually learned that we were supposed to create TWO timelines; one for the 4:3, and one for the 16:9.
Hope this can save someone some time.

  • Adobe Encore DVD - vidéo avant menu

    Bonjour,

  • Adobe encore dvd 2 no reproduce ac3 audio

On a fresh installation of Encore dvd 2 Full After importing any dolbd
ac3 resource encore do not reproduce the sound.
Using windows media player the same results.
Have I install Other software for hearing this type of audio tracks in encore dvd 2 ?
Motherboard Asus a8v deluxe - I can hear in Adobe others sort of sounds (mp3 mp2 wav)
    Thanks a lot

    Maskio.
What did you use to create the AC3 files?
I use this all the time - as in on a daily basis - in EncoreDVD and have no trouble at all playing back the imported Dolby Digital files.
There are 2 things that instantly leap to mind here:
1 - Non compliant AC3 files, created with garbage like BeSweet or similar.
2 - Conflicting filters installed to your system, for example the "AC3filter" being set up incorrectly.
My guess is that you have one of these problems - or both.
DTS audio is supported in passthrough mode. This is made clear in the manuals, and the Audio has to be prepared outside of Encore - or you cannot check the encodes.
Checking for Audio/Video sync should be a simple matter - and is NOT something that should be done using EncoreDVD - it should be done in the POST process. This is the usual way that authoring applications work.

  • Adobe Encore DVD Quality

    HELP PLEASE!
My friend and I, we do weddings, he as the photographer and am the videographer.
I edit in Adobe Premiere Pro CC and once the video is ready i exported as MPEG2 or H264, Lately I've been using MPEG2 cuz i make a DVD Menu in Adobe Encore CS6
Once i finish the Menu in Photoshop i imported into Encore and i tried so many presets and mothods to have at least 90% of the quality but the dvd menu still low quality.
    Tried DVD MPEG2, Blu-Ray MEPG2, Blu-Ray MP4 but nothing
I burn in Dual Layer DVD
    and 4.7 Gb DVD
    Speed 1x
    Side: One
Layer Break: Automatic ( I don't know what this it )
    Regions : All
    I will attached 2 pics.
In full screen the project burned it looks fatal.
    LOW QUALITY
    HIGH QUALITY

    Thanks for your tips John
I edit my menu in  DVD MPEG2 but still look terrible I'm not pretty sure if the dvd are bad quality or something else.
I edit my videos in 1920x480 24fps once i export my video  in mpeg2-dvd i have low quality cuz transcode form 1 format to another
so Basically in your experience what would be the best option to edit videos, export them and make the dvd for weddings

  • Adobe Encore DVD: Importing 96k/24-bit PCM Audio

I seem to be unable to import a 96kHz 24-bit stereo PCM audio file in to Encore 2.0 - Is there a special way of doing this? Is it even possible?
    Thanks for your help

    Hi
Thanks for the replies. Most of the people who view my videos probably have a DVD-Audio player or a decent DVD-player so I'm not really worried about the audio sounding ugly. Many of the new lower mid-range players have 96kHz DACs in them. I think a few years ago using 96kHz/24-bit for DVD-Video wouldn't have sounded as good. With the newer HD and BluRay players coming out I think they also have 96kHz/24-bit DACs as well.
For Adobe it would be one way to say Encore handles audio up to 96kHz etc... I haven't even looked at CS3.

  • Adobe Encore DVD 1.5 -  Endaktion+RemoteMenü

    Hallo,
    info: Ich habe mehrere Schnittfenster.
    Also hier meine Fragen:

    1) Dvd Fehler -1
    2) System Fehler -(hier irgendeine lange Zahl)

  • Remote Control Reihenfolge in Adobe Encore DVD

    Hallo Leute,
    Danke! MfG Christian

  • DVD +Copyright/copy protection

I am a sports videographer. I use Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0 to edit and burn game dvds for my customers. My customers are telling me that they are unable to take clips off my dvds to create highlight dvds or video files to send to college coaches on the internet because my dvds are somehow "copyright protected" or copymaking proof signal embedded or whatever the technical term is for what is keeping them from achieving their project. I am not wittingly clicking on any feature to make this happen on purpose. I tried to find the problem and solution in the manual but could not find anything. I hope I am describing my dilemma correctly. Is there a way to disengage this feature so that my customers can do anything they want with the footage on the dvds I make for them?  Thank you for your help.
    TMR

    Welcome to the forum.
As ATR states, PrE cannot create a DVD-Video with Copy Protection. No burned DVD-Video can have Copy Protection, as such, but only replicated DVD's, and PrE is not capable of producing such material, even if one is going to a replication house. That is not the issue here.
Now, are you providing the clients with DVD-Video (with the VIDEO_TS folder structure, to be played on a computer with DVD software, or from a set-top DVD player hooked to a TV), or are you providing DVD-Data discs, where you are just Copying the AV files to a DVD disc, for distribution? The discs would look the same, but have different folder structures burned onto them.
How are your clients trying to extract the files? With a DVD-Video, the media files will be in a VOB container, and those might need to be ripped from the DVD-Video, to be used. PrE can do that ripping, providing that the DVD-Video is 100% DVD-compatible. The VOB's created by PrE should be 100% DVD-compatible. Not all NLE (Non Linear Editor) programs CAN Import and work with VOB's. In those cases, other software is needed to rip the MPEG-2 DVD AV files from the VOB containers, to Import and edit those. This might mean an additional step for the clients, but that will depend on the software that they have access to, and might differ, client to client.
As a test, though limited to PrE, I would take one of your DVD's, Copy the VIDEO_TS folder to an internal HDD, then Open a New Project in PrE (NTSC, or PAL DV would be the desired Project Preset, and either Standard 4:3, or Widescreen 16:9, depending on which you shot), and then Import the VOB's into that Project. Do you get any errors? Remember, that will ONLY tell you, if you have created the VOB's, such that PrE can Import those. Depending on the clients' software, they might, or might not be able to use the VOB's directly.
Good luck, and sorry to add more questions to ATR's, but the answers to all, might tell the story.

  • Copy Protect when I try and create a DVD

Help please. I created a movie using FCE 1.0. I then "printed to video" to capture the final movie on a Sony Hi8 Camcorder with Firewire. I then tried to create a DVD by connecting the camcorder to a Philips DVD Recorder using the standard RCA jacks. The recorder shows the message "Copy Protected" and will not record the movie. Is this a setting within FCE or the content?
    Help!

Really not sure about this, but I doubt it's anything to do with FCE. Is it some copy protection built into the DVD recorder? I.e to stop you copying DVDs. Does the DVD Recorder normally work with this jacks? Is there any other way to connect to the recorder?

  • Can't activate my older version of Encore DVD 2.0

My computer died. Got my computer running and trying to re-install and activate Adobe Encore DVD 2.0 but the activation server is down for that. Adobe doesn't activate ver 2.0 anymore. They want you to upgrade to Encore 6.0. I don't have the money to upgrade and I want to use my ligimate bought copy of Encore DVD 2.0. Followed a thread and found out others got phone calls from the support team with a  authorization code to activate it. The forum said they updated Adobe's internal documentation so that support agents could help others with this same issue. However, I tried to get the same help with no luck. I still want to use my 2.0 version because it works and I don't see a need, nor do I have the money to upgrade. I have a legal ligimate store bought copy. Why should I have to buy another version? If others are being helped with their Encore DVD 2.0, why can't I?

I suspect that what you were seeing was re Premiere and other CS2 applications.
Encore was not CS2; just a plain "2" application.
I cannot find a download of version 2; 1.5 and then it was first bundled with Premiere CS3.
Call support and see if they'll give you an old version of CS3!
