Copy query from one system to another one

Hi experts,
We have two BI systems. I need to recreate all the queries from the first system. I am exploring options if there is a way to copy the queries from the first to the second. Anone experienced with this?

Hi Kumar,
for the same landscape as you know the normal Transport strategy,
if You are looking to migrate the Queries to Different BW Landscape, :
Before Migrating the Queries need to make sure that all the InfoObjects, DataFlow should be available in the same version and in the same condition in the Target BW system; then only think to move the Queries
Connecting the 2 BW systems through RFC is BASIS Job,
as a BI Consultant first analyze the both source and Target Systems in the sence of DataFlow, all the Objects, DataSources etc... and make sure to maintain same in both systems, if required need to move the Dataflows also before the Queries.
Note: if you move the Dataflow to target system the existing objects in the Target system will be overwrite, so first study the two systems and prepare a documnet with all concerns.

I had to deal with the same thing and I know at least two solutions - one is "dirty" and the other one is a "clean":
1. dirty - replace ':' (colon) with ';' (semicolon) and pass that value using URL. On the page, where your item(s) is, create a computation using REPLACE(P1_ITEM, ';', ':') on load and before header.
2. clean - as Scott says and it works in many cases - pass only a primary key and a request to your target page and create there a procedure to fetch the values you need and populate the items
If you use the documentation and search on keywords "COMPUTATION" and "REQUEST", you will find a lot of usefull information.

[SOLVED] moving Grub2 from one system to another one

Hello,
I am dual booting Ubuntu 11.10 and Archlinux with Grub2.
Until now, Grub2 is set up on my Ubuntu, and I want to move the boot app to Archlinux.
My plan was this one:
- Install and configure Grub2 on Arch, as it is not installed yet.
-Uninstall from Ubuntu.
I need advices, as I wonder a few things and doesn't want to be in the case I can no more boot.
If I set up Grub2 on Arch, when rebooting my BIOS will deal with 2 Grub, correct? How to deal with it, as I am not sure this confusion is a good idea. In this case, can I disabled the Ubuntu Grub when I am on Arch with deleting /etc/default/grub file or even /boot/grub directory, in order to "break" Unbuntu Grub? This seems a dirty solution.
Or shall I first uninsatll properly Grub2 from Ubuntu? But in this case, when I reboot, I guess I will be in trouble.
TY in adavnce for any clean solution, or any good pointer.

@gabx When you run something like grub-install /dev/sda in Arch, you write into the MBR to use Arch's GRUB, not Ubuntu's. Likewise, running grub-install /dev/sda in Ubuntu will write into the MBR to use Ubuntu's GRUB.
So, saying you installed GRUB to the MBR in Arch. Arch's GRUB loads up, and then given that the Ubuntu entry is set-up correctly, it will load up Ubuntu no problem.
I would leave GRUB there in Ubuntu, just incase you might want to re-install it, although with my current set-up, I have Arch which GRUB installed and Ubuntu with no GRUB at all (I used the alternate CD to achieve this).
I have no idea about UEFI, or GRUB2 mainly because I find GRUB2 to easy to screw up.

Hi,
For copying queries from one cube to the another use Tcode :RSZC.
If you have RKF and CKF in the queries,
then only those RKF's and CKF's which are used in the query will be copied(Only those which you use in the structure).
One more important all the keyfigures will be copied with Technical name as _1 at the end.
i.e: if you have a KF called AVERAGE with Techname as <b>OSD_AVG</b> then this will be copied as <b>OSD_AVG_1</b>.Meaning you cannot define your own Tech names.

Hi,
Put the Package into a TR using transaction SE80.
Provide the TR no. to BASIS consultant & ask him to provide the file of that TR.
Import the TR file in another system.
Thats it.

How do you copy/move the ASU Toolbox task list from one system to another

We are upgrading from 3.5 to 7.01 and have maintained the the task list in /n/asu/upgrade in our sandbox. I would like to be able to move the task list to our other systems so I don't have to reenter the tasks again. I know the base tasks are in an xml file but I don't know which one.
Does anyone know how to move/copy the tasks from one system to another?

I agree with Antonio, but since we don't know if the Mail app on the Mini is the same version as the one on your new iMac, I'd err on the side of caution and allow Mail on the new iMac to set up; additionally, I'd prefer to start with a new preference file. In order to make it easier, you could take screenshots of all the account windows on the Mini. You can then use those to enter the info when setting up Mail on the new iMac.
After Mail is set up, quit Mail. Go to the location outlined by Antonio (Users-Library-Mail) and compare the folders with the folders from the old Mail app; i.e. the new Inbox folder should be empty -> remove that (drag to trash) and replace it with your old Inbox folder (same with Sent, etc). If you have old folders not found in the new location, add them.
When done, open Mail and your folders and emails should all be there.

You should use Import Wizard to transfer the WebI report from one system to another, say, from DEV to PRD, but if you have also distinguish the DEV data source and the PRD data source, you will also have to modify the underlying universe connection after you transfer the report itself.
If you're on BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 or above, you may also look at the free tool BusinessObjects Life Cycle Management which can 'promote' contents from one system to another.

Transfer of workflow from one system to another

Hi all,
I have a requirement as follows:
1) V have developed a workflow in our system and tested
2) now the client wants tht in their system
if it is within our system, v can transport the request to copy tht workflow. But here the system itself is a new one where we need to do all configurations for workflow development. There is a way of storing the workflow as XML and thn importing it into the system.
Can anyone suggest with solution for this transfer from one system to another?

Hi,
1) In the T.code SWDD, Give your Workflow no. and Press enter.
2) Goto Menu, in the first Menu you can find Export and Import.
3) You have to export and save that XML file
4) Then go to the new system in the SWDD, Click import and it will ask of the file, upload the same file which you export from that system

Hi Naresh,
If you are moving Database alone from SRM amd EP system to another host, you can install the same verision of oracle software used in the source system and take complete offline backup and restore in the target system (new host).
You can refer note 71254 - Using BRBACKUP/BRRESTORE to copy a database
for more details.
If you are moving the entire SAP system, then you have to do the system copy. For more details, refer note
547314 - FAQ: System Copy procedure

Getting error in file transfer from one system to another system

Hi All
One of my client (User) wants to transfer his file from SAP R/3 System SAP XI system. He is using a customize t-code ZFIR0325 (Trial balance report transfer to Hyperian System). When user execute the program he is getting error "File Transfer Failed due to Network chk with Admin"
I checked with Network team but they said it is okay from their side. We also check for authorization but there is no issue regarding authorization.
Name of File Path of Aplication Server, XI destinaion and XI directory entered by user is correct.
We also put authorization trace in XI System to RFC User (In file transfer from one system to another system this RFC User is geeing Used) but no authorization issue was found.
Please help me to resolve this problem. I any detail require I will provide the same.

Firstly, no one in the community can answer on how a custom transcation code and a program associated with it behaves.
If there are no authorization issues in the system, you have to look at the exact error message. Look if your XI system is allowed to receive files from the SAP system.
Unfortunately, you should do some more home work before putting your question here. If everything is fine and configured correctly, then the issue might be with the program.

I am sending idocs from one system to another For Eg System A to System B .
Now suppose 2 idocs are generated 1 and 2.
Now how to determine , for idoc 1 in system A, what is the corresponding Inbound Idoc in System B because the data which is coming in System B might be different than in System A for the same Idoc?

              2 for inbound idoc,
goto tcode WE02
enter direction - 2.
creation date
and basic type i.e. idoc type
double click on an idoc num.
on L.H.S u have 'Control REc' double click on it..
it contains all the sender details and to what outbound idoc it corressponds to -> basic type, message type
    -> Partner details like partner num, port, partner type
    -> date & time of creation
    -> and the other details
