Copy scale

i have put together some clips and realized after that they are all too big for the screen. I overlayed one clip with the image and wire frame and bought the video down to an acceptable size where everything in the frame is viewable. There are about 20 clis and I want to set all 20 at the same scale. Is there a way to copy the scale setting and paste it to the remaining clips without having to go to each clip and redo the scale setting?

A bug in adding motion to multiple graphics?

Having a weird problem. Basically, on a DV Pal sequence, I put a graphic onto the timeline and apply some simple motion. Once rendered it looks great.
I then add another graphic on V2 and apply motion and dissolve between them. Looks okay (but obviously fuzzy) in preview but when rendered I get very odd behaviour - generally, once it dissolves from V1 to V2 the graphic on V2 looks as if one of the interlacing fields is missing. Sometimes it just flashes on and off, sometimes it doesn't appear at all.
Trashing prefs and deleting render files improves it slightly but it's still not right although it did work once which is why I think it's a bug.
The only solution I've found is to set the motion filtering quality to fast from it's default of normal. This solves the problem and doesn't seem to degrade the image but this doesn't make sense to me.
For info, it only seems a problem in DV Pal, I have tested it on three different machines, the problem appears on an output monitor as well as the canvas, the upgrade to 6.06 doesn't help and doing the exact same thing on FCP 5.14 works fine.
Anyone having the same problem ?

Thanks for the good suggestion Tony. Luckily I only do a limited number of these and they involve maybe five graphics at a time. I reckon the time it would take to import, apply the motion then export from Motion into FCP would be uneconomic.
I have done more tests and it definately only happens in DV timelines when copying scale motion keyframes from one image to another.
One solution is to manually copy the keyframes which is admittedly a little tedious. The other is to lower the motion filtering to fast which, as far as I can tell doesn't affect the quality to a noticeable extent.
I would say it's a bug unless anyone else can tell me where I'm going wrong?

Bug in adding Question slides?

Firstly, thank to those who replied to my previous rant... restarting solved that problem.
Current rant: I think there's a bug in the Adding Question slides... but maybe it's me.
Here's the scenario:
I have a Master slide that says "MCQ, T/F, FIB, Sequence" so I think it's the master for the T/F slide.
When I go to Question Slide…, and add 1 T/F slide, it produces a new slide with the correct look from the Master slide.
BUT if I to to Question Slide… and add 2 or more T/F slides, the slides it produces look pretty much like the Master slide (and it says the name of the master slide in the Properties panel), but it's got things wrong with it... the Question X of Y is in the wrong place (the opposite corner, actually), and the "Correct/Incorrect/You must answer" boxes are one below the other... totally different than what's on the Master slide.
I also have issues with the GIFT import... Tryiing to import 10 T/F questions, I swear that the file is UTF-8 perfect, but it's telling me it's the wrong syntax. Why is this so hard?

Subsequent settlement in MM(Vendor rebate)

I'm using subsequent settlement(rebate) on vendor side with partial settlement with the help of settlement calendar. However during vendor rebate maintenance in step of condition maintenance, I maintained condition rate(rebate discount) and scales on main condition. However system only copied automatically condition rate at main condition to period-specific condition not for scales. So I had to do it manually by copying scales at main condition to individual period-specific conditions. It's quite a tough life to do this. Could anyone give me some light to make life better for example any missing configuration or any enhancement.

Carefully select the objects of interest in one image and then copy, scale and position them into the other image. Then touch up the composite.

Scale and copy problem

hey I was wondering if anyone can help me, im trying to do a tutorial in a magazine and one portion of the work needs me to scale and copy using the command shift+alt problem is this doesnt work, the shift key alone does constrain the proportions and holding alt with shift contrains it from the centre point but it doesnt copy, holding alt alone does copy thou... this command doesnt work , I can do this using the scale tool but it the work needs to be very precise and the scale tool is more awkward cos i need to keep setting the point and its not always exactly the same... so basically why doesnt shift+alt constrain and copy a shape? any help would be great. my comp is new and dont have any bugs or other issues.. any help will be great! thanks

I've been using Illustrator since 1988. I have been an Adobe Certifed Expert in Illustrator since CS2. I can assure you you've either misunderstood the tutorial or the tutorial is simply wrong. (that does happen)
Dragging a transform handle with the Alt key will never result in a copy. Illustrator simply does not work that way. There's nothing wrong with your version. You are trying to do something Illustrator does not do.
You must use a dedicated tool (scale, rotate, skew, selection) in order for the Alt key to generate copies when dragging.
You can argue it all you want... but that's the answer. Sorry it's not the one you wanted to hear.

How do you drag-scale and copy at the same time?

I just want to drag-scale and copy at the same time like in previous versions of illustrator by holding the command key while dragging. Can someone help me find out how to do this with CC? I don't have time to re-learn basic things over again. What was wrong with it the way it was?

I guess you have to have the scale tool selected in the tool bar now in order to "drag-scale" and copy at the same time. Before you could just do it no matter what tool was selected in the tool bar. I liked it the way it was.

Scale Pricing Copy to Credit

My client does returns and credit memos with reference to an invoice, F2 to RE, TAN to REN.
They have a quantity scale based condition record that gives a discount percentage on the order/invoice.
When it copies to an RE from the invoice, and they change the quantity, they have to recalculate pricing to correct some other pricing conditions. When they do this, it also updates the scale pricing condition and wipes it out because the credit amount does not meet the required quantity to qualify for the scale.
How can we achieve updating the pricing for other elements and leave the discount from the scale condition on the return and only have it adjust accordingly.
Example:
Scale is 50-100 EA gets 5% discount.
Original order was for 75 so they get 5% discount and have paid that.
Return is for 25, which doesn't meet the scale discount. They should be credited the 5% on those 25 but updating pricing is wiping it out.

Open both of your images in the Editor. Click on the image you want to copy and press Ctrtl+A (select all) followed by Ctrl+C (copy) then click the tab for your other image and press Ctrl+V (paste)
Alternatively click on your background image then simply drag the second image from the photo/project bin and drop it into the main editor workspace on top of the background image. Use the move tool to position and the corner handles of the bounding box to scale.

I admit I tunes always confused me, it is so hard to copy things back and forth from computer to device or vice versa. Most importantly my partner has given me a set of CD with audio books, legitimate CD's not burned copies, and I wish to play them on my i pod touch. I have donethis before with CD''s, however now I look i see all the songs and audio books from CD's have been removed from my device after synch with my itunes on my macbook??? and I can no longer cooy the new CDs on to there? i try put them in the library, and they show up but they are not in black printing like the other songs, they are a faded grey color. They play on the mac book in itunes, so i know they are THERE, they just wont go on my device??? What am I doing wrong and why did all my other ones turn to grey gaded text and go off my i pod.
Furthermore, i thank anyone who takes time to help me, it isnt your job, it is apple's job, but they want me to pay forty bucks for the priviledge of contacting them for help because my warranty expired !! They obviously did something with a new update of their i tunes, there should be NO DIFFICULTY copying audio books i legally own the CD for onto my i pod, why is it so impossible? The sort fields should generally be empty unless you've putting in custom values to sort solo artists by their surnames. You can apply common changes to thousands of tracks at once, just don't apply the wrong change because there is no undo.
It is a good idea to backup before undertaking large scale changes. See this backup tip for a suggested approach.

Is there a way by which I can preserve my work done on DV PAL and switch it preserving its proportions, scale and orientation, but on a HD project sequence?? Appreciate your help and advice..

Yes. A couple of ways that might work.
First Way
What you need to do is load one of your hd clips in the viewer and edit into a new HD sequence. Does it display correctionly?
OK, select the clip in the hd timeline and copy (command-c). Now go to the HD sequence with the material that's distorted. Select all (command-a) and paste attributes (option-v) and choose basic motion and distort. That should maek things work. What won't work is anything that you've adjusted as far as basic motion or distort in your PAL sequence. That I'm pretty sure you'll have to redo.
Second Way.
Choose your original PAL sequence and do a Media Manage changing the sequence preset to the appropriate HD paramenters with the media offline. You then should be able to reconnect these clips with your original HD media.

Image Field Scale Proportionally does not work

we are using LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2 to program a dynamic form in which we want to use image fields. Users filling the form should choose the picture to display in the image field.
We set the Image Field to embed data (so it can be saved) and to scale proportionally.
Testing the form with Adobe Reader 8.1.4 or 9.1, it’s possible to insert a picture, but it does not get scaled and seems to be positioned in the Background of the form.
Who can help us fixing this problem? If helpful, i can provide a copy of the form draft. Thanks in advance for any help und

figured it out by myself. Sometimes it's good to sleep a night over it ...
The solution is: In the Layout Tab of the image field, no exact measures were defined (extend to fit boxes checked). This way the poor program goes into a circuit.

Missing images and not able to use copy and paste anymore - just blank rect

Hello!
I've a problem that really scares me.
I use severall png and pdf images. But at one point keynote looses the media and just displays these grey rectangles instead of some images. I tried to figure out if it just happens with pdf images and replaced the missing pdf images through png24 images with transparency. It first worked fine (they showed up) and then it tells images can not be saved. If I open the presentation again, the images are missing. And it seems that the more images and slides i put in the presentation, the more images are missing…
But there is more: I even can't copy and paste these images anymore. If I try to copy one of the images I just have replaced (because they have been lost by saving), it just pastes the blank grey rectangle instead of the image.
This really is a problem because I now have to repetitive tasks (like same animation for the same image in the same size) over and over again. And when I save the doc – they are al gone again…
It really scares me and I don't have an idea how to solve this.
It also happens, if I repleace an pdf image with an png image and than try to copy this new png image. However I am able to drag the image from the Finder again.
I am working on a PB G4, 1.5 GHz, 1 GB RAM.
My Keynote Version is 3.0.2.
The Keynote Dokument is saved and opened from a G4 X-Serve wich is only used by Macs (so no Windows Filesystem anywhere). I still have anough space on both, my local and the server volume. I don't transfer the Keynote document. So it should not be a problem with the names on the files… And the files are just exported from Adobe Illustrator (png 24 files with "save for web" and the pdf files are saved as Illustrator pdf) – so they should really be fine and not corrupted…
At this time the Keynote document has a size of 179 MB (because of a video) and only 16 slides. And the theme was built from scratch – so no import from Powerpoint or so…
I looked through the Keynote preferences and found a thing like (sorry self-translated from german version to english) "scale placed images to slide-size". I wondered if keynote saves a copy of the sacaled image after that and corrupts the image itself? But I don't think so.
I've had these problems with earlier versions of Keynote, but it occured just sporadically and I could solve it through pasting it again. But this time I can not solfe it anymore.
Does anybody encounter same problem? Or has a hint?
I really would appreciate, because I have to finish the presentation very soon and are not able to work properly with that. Furthermore, I am scared of saving and opinging the presentation again, because the lost files can not be replaced…

I now have a hint:
As a colleague said, he encountered some problems with usagerights on our fileserver (XServe). He said he wasn't able to read files he put on the server himself again…
If this is true, the same could have happened to Keynote for placed images, as Keynote writes these images as separate files in the doc package…
I will try to work on my local volume and see if it solfes the problem.
But sooner or later I will have to place the whole thing on the server again…
Do you think this is the reason?
