Copy Security Policies onto new computer
I upgraded my computer to a new computer and installed Acrobat 8 Standard on it. On my old computer I had security policies in there and I want to export them and put them on the new computer without having to recreate them. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks
Hi,
Go to C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat\8.0\Security on the old computer Note: <user name> is your login name
Copy security-policy.acrodata to removable media and then paste it into the same location on the new computer

Load old Photoshop CS onto new computer without updating?
How do I load old Photoshop CS onto new computer without updating?
Adobe closed down the CS2 (and earlier versions) activation server a couple of years ago.
Download a new non-activation copy of CS2 from Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3
Install then enter the new serial number given at that link. Your existing serial number will no longer work. -

Keychain sync is no longer availableMove the entire keychain to any location on the new computer and double-click it. You can then drag the notes from one keychain to the other.

windows computer hard drive failed; data lost. have new blank hard drive. Can I load ipod music and photos back onto new hard drive?
Hi Perilman,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! I understand that all of your iTunes media is on an external hard drive and you would like to move that media onto your new Windows computer hard drive. The following article has step by step instructions for this specifically. Part 5 in the External drive section is probably what is going to be most relevant to you.

Downloading old purchases onto new computer
I have just bought a new computer after my laptop died. Will I be able to download the purchases I have made on my old laptop onto my new computer or will I have to buy all the albums again?
It depends on what country that you are in as to whether you can re-download them for free : re-downloading. If you are not in a country where you can currently re-download past music purchases then if they are on your iPod then you should be able to copy them to your new computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases, otherwise have you got a backup of your purchases on, for example, an external drive that you can copy to your computer ?

My old Gateway laptop died (about 2 years old)but the harddrive is still good. I was able to retrieve all my old info EXCEPT I can't figure how to get to my old bookmarks file so I can copy them into my new computer. I believe. I have tried several forums, but the instructions don't give me the results I need. I am running my old drive with a USB adapter so I can see all my files, but can't get to/find the bookmark file.

When put onto new computer (following apple's instructions- using an external hard drive) the info has gone back to how it was before i edited it.. Help!?
Hello,
I would recommend taking a look at the article below for more information about migrating your iTunes library.

Old computer crashed, how do I get all i Tunes songs onto new computer?
See Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device. Even if you don't have one there is the possibility of recovering from the old hard drive even if the system won't start, a link on how to recover your qualifying store purchases, and backup advice for the future.

How do I get entire library onto new computer without old ipod (stolen) or old computer (died)? I just bought an ipod 5th gen and when I plugged it in, it only synced purchases.
You restore the media to your new computer using the backup you made of your old computer before it died. You did backup your computer, right?

So my home computer decided to quit... I am trying to start using my work computer more now. I have itunes with a library of only 150 songs. My iphone has over 550 songs. Even after I sync my phone to my new computer and mark items purchased to be sync it doesn't increase on itunes. I know I've purchased songs on my iphone so that is my first problem...
Next, at home I copied CDs onto itunes which I sync'd onto my iphone. Am I right that I will lose all these songs now when I update my software?
To summarize:
I have no way to back up songs that were not purchased on itunes?
How do I sync my iphone purchases into itunes correctly (since it isn't working now)
Will I lose content from my iphone, if it doesn't show up on itunes before I update my software to 5.0?
Am I making sense?iOS 6.1.3 Software Update
iOS: How to update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Since your updating from iOS 4 to iOS 6, you will most likely lose your songs, but if songs were purchased from iTunes, you can try this:
Downloading past purchases from App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
You can redownload from iTunes on your iTouch, if running iOS 5 or better. -
Old program copy onto new computer
In about 2004 I had to buy the InDesign program to replace Pagemaker. I used the new program all the time and loved it. Last year my eMac died completely and we couldn't even transfer anything over to a new computer. I have now been without InDesign for about 12 months and am shattered. Last night I eventually found the original program disk. I am shattered once ,ore because the program will not download onto either my new iMac or my MacBookAir. Any solutions to help this financially poor pensioner? Rampratjim
If it was 2004, then you probably bought CS2, no? LIke WIlli says, that's half of the information we'd need to answer your question. The other half would be the version of Mac OS you're using.
Both your MacBook Air and your new iMac have Intel processors. Your new iMac (assuming that it's new new, and not just new-to-you) is running a version of OS X that is too new to have Rosetta support for CS2, which was a PPC-only application. So, it really boils down to this: Is your MBA running Snow Leopard? If you don't have Snow-Leopard-or-older installed on one of your Macs, there are technical problems that will keep you from being able to install CS2.
You should tell us what error messages you get when you try to install; that will help us figure out which of the above is the problem.
Lastly: I run lots of old software on brand-new Macs, by virtualizing an old install of OS X, e.g. running OS X 10.5 inside of OS X 10.8. It's not trivial to get it running, but it's totally doable. There are many cheap and/or free solutions, here. It'd be easiest if, when you found your old CS2 disk, you found an old Leopard or Snow Leopard disk at the same time.
Edited: to remove commentary about activation, because oh yeah they shut down the CS2 activation servers. -
