Copy sms only from iPhone 2G to iPhone4?

Hi folks,
first of all sorry for my bad english. I would like to know if anyone knows how to transfer my sms from my current iPhone 2G to my new iPhone4? I don't wanna do a total backup and sync-back, 'cause I would like to use my new one as maiden as it is.

Yes, there is a way of doing it without having to restore everything, and without any hacks. It will require a restore, but it will be a restore of your iPhone 4 with your iPhone 2G's text messages. (It should work across different phones, I've done it across different software versions on the same phone successfully).
(Note: this assumes you DON'T encrypt your iPhone backups)
First, go to (make sure you have show hidden files and folders turned on):
(if you are on a Mac) ~Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup
(if you are on a PC) c:\Documents and Settings\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
When you're there, work out which folder is your old iPhone. Then, find the file named
3d0d7e5fb2ce288813306e4d4636395e047a3d28
(the file extension will be either .mddata, .mdbackup or it will have no extension).
If at this point you want to check to ensure that this is the correct phone's SMS file, you can go to http://insend.de/ and download a copy as a PDF or Excel file to check the contents.
Once you're happy it's the right file, you need to copy it, and paste it into the backup folder of your new iPhone. Then head to iTunes, plug in your iPhone 4 and restore it from backup. All done!
EDIT: Sorry if I didn't make it clear - your iPhone 4 backup will now contain the text messages so restore it from its own backup. You won't lose any of your contacts, apps etc but you gain text messages.

so I found this
Extremely simple and easy method to solve (The SMS Transfer) issue
I wanted to share with the community
well here it goes
Step One : Backup both your iPhones
Step Two : Search and download iTools for iPhone free download (for PC or MAC)
Step Three : Open itools & plug in your iphone 3GS
Step Four : Your iPhone will be detected & all details would be displayed on the left Panel
Step Five : Click on File Sytems
Step Six : On the right Panel click on filesystem (Jailbreak)
Step Seven : Go to filesystem/user/ library/sms
Step Eight : On the far right panel, you will see some very important folders and files
Step Nine : Simply Select All, Right Click and copy em in a new Folder may be on the desktop                     (Name it iPhone 3GS SMS)
Step Ten : Disconnect iphone 3GS and connect iPhone 4
Step Eleven : Repeat the steps from Five to Nine (Only copy them in a new folder and name it                      iPhone 4 SMS. (Note : We dont need these files n folders, but just in case                            something goes wron, we can replace them back)
Step Twelve : Copy the files n folders from the directory on the desktop named iPhone 3GS SMS
                     and paste the in the iphone 4 here (the program will ask wether to replace                             existing files n folders, in some chinese lingo, but u can see Y and N on each                           buttons so click on the left (Y)
And thats about it, You are done, As simple as that, All the SMS on the iPhone 3GS are transfered on the new device.

Caution : This worked like a charm for me, but it may not be the same for everyone so just in case anything goes wrong you can replace the previously saved files n folders in iPhone 4 SMS directory back. I am very clear, I am not responsible for any loss or damage, Do at your own risk.

Have you not got a backup of your content ? iTunes will only copy back purchases that you made from Apple. For music from other sources you will need to find a program from another source which can copy them back from the phone - if you do a search on google you might find some. Or depending from where you got them from can you re-download them from those sites ?

Hello Everybody.
I’m coding the Record application. However, I have problem with copying the file from iPhone device to the PC after recording. I used Attach File function on Email but it doesn’t allow with large size > 10MB file. I haven’t found any solution yet for this problem. iTune 9.0 has “Include Voice Memos” function, can i do the same with my application ? “Include My App” e.g.
Anybody knows other solution for this problem?

I want to access the assetURL of song playing in my iPhone default player. I can get the assetURL from Media Player framework but I am not able to use that path anywhere in my app. Is there any alternate if I can copy the contents of running song to my app's .mp3 file? I have exactly the same problem as David Ting. I just bought a brand new iPhone 4 and just want to do the same thing that I did when moved from Symbian to Windows Mobile and from Windows Mobile to Android: import my old SMS messages and call history to my new device.
It's a _complete nonsense_ to be incapable of doing a so simple thing in iOS.
I'm really shocked with this impossibility. I'm starting to think that I just did a very wrong move choosing Apple.

Is it possible to download SMS messages from iphone to computer?

I am getting notified that my SMS mailbox is almost full and I need to delete some messages. Is it possible to download these to my computer in a .txt or similar format so that I don't lost everything when I delete them? Some of them are important and I would like to keep them.Any Suggestions?

Yes, it's possible and can be very easy. I simply used this iPhone sms to computer transfer program called Tansee iPhone Transfer SMS.(*Save 20%* now) Here is the guide:
Step 1: Free Download iPhone SMS to computer transfer software and install it.
Step 2: Connect iPhone to your computer.
Step 3: Launch iPhone SMS to computer transfer softw, the SMS contact info will be automatically displayed as shown in your iPhone screen (example see the following screenshot).
Note: Click on certain contact, the detailed SMS records will be displayed as shown in the below screenshot.
Step 4: If you want to copy all SMS to computer, click "Copy ALL SMS" on the top right of the first screenshot. And then select options:
1): Choose File Type: back up to TXT file or ANTS file; (The difference between TXT file and ANTS file lies in that ANTS file allows you to set a password for protection.

My wife's iPhone 3GS was synced to Windows 7 PC before it crashed, unfortunately i have no backup, so I need to restore all content from iPhone to either a Mac or PC... her iphone was last updated to OS v4.1... need to update it to OS v5..most important is I need to get contacts and photos off the iphone as well as purchased apps...........HELP!!

First, iTunes will only sync non-purchased media one direction: from computer to phone. To copy non-purchased media from your phone to your computer (such as ripped CDs, etc.) you will need to purchase 3rd party software such asTouch Copy. So long story short: I was given a replacement MAC by apple and if I sync my iphone to it I will loose all it's data which is only backed up on my broken MAC. I have managed to rip MUSIC, CONTACTS, PHOTOS from my iphone to my replacement MAC.

Copy Paste only from Paint

We have a w2008 R2 terminal server for a week now and clients make a vpn connection. They copy paste pictures from local to a Word 2010 document on the terminal server.
Everthing function well before. Same clients and a w2003 terminal server with Word 2010. Users copy local picture (openend in Paint, Microsoft Photo viewer, Irfanview, etc.) and than copy paste it to a Word document on the terminal server.
Now it does not work anymore accept when they opend it local in Paint. Only than they can copy the picture.
-I have checkt de properties on client
-I have restart rdpclip.exe on Termnal server.
-I have checked if it is a rights issue but it seems that it's not
I realy like to find a solution for this because doing it with MSPaint is al lot of work for the people.
Does any has a answer for this?
