Copy Std template

Hello Experts,
I have created std structures and trying to copy part of it into an operative project. While doing so I am copying with another company code. After this I am mass chaging all org data for the new part of structure. But the Network header still reatins the company code of Project definition and is not editable. How can I change this one also? Pls guide me.

Have you tried creating a seperate standard structure for the company code. Instead of changing the project again and again, just keep another standard structure ready so that you dont have to use the mass change time and again.

As i know following things not possible in std. sap ps. Still i would like to know is there any possibility to acheive same in std. sap ps.
1) I have created one std. project template, which is made for standardise Projects. Here we can copy same template for operative Projects. But my client having a requirement like they wanted to just copy a Single Std. WBS Element of any level from that std. project template to create operative project...can is it possible in std. sap ps.
2) Can is it possible in std. sap ps to copy the material component (like fert, halb, roh, hibe, hawa etc.) which we have planned in Project Builder to Sales Order.
3) In std. sap ps we can handle projects through multiple plants & multiple business area's. In my scenario cross plant & cross business area material's is supplied to any particular project. so same way can we create Sales Order for multiple plants & multiple busniess area's.

Difficult with different coding masks for operative and std templates.

Hi Experts
I have below coding masks
OP-XXXX-XX-XX For operative structures (not allowed for std templates)
ST-XXXX-XX-XX For std tempplates (not allowed for operative structures)
But i am unable to create operative project using std template.
I have disabled Lck for std mask and tried, then i could create project but the operative project got created with WBS element's short id 'ST' and not with 'OP'
How to ensure getting the right WBS id while copying from different standard coding mask?

I have gone through help, but i did not get any clue to make use different project IDs for std and operative.
I am just looking for this to have dedicated structures for both std and operative, due to which one can easily recognise the nature by seeing the project id.
Of course, it is very comfortable using unique project ID / coding mask for both. Still i am exploring. You may suggest if feasible.

Can I use vCloud Connector Basic to copy vSphere template between datacenters?

A client has 4 datacenters around the world. They use one a couple of vCenter servers in Linked Mode. vSphere/vCenter only, no vCloud.
If they create a VM template at HQ, could they use vCloud Connector Basic to copy the template between DC in different locations?
If so, would this offer anything more than cloning the template to another DC using vCenter?

You can use vCloud Connector for vSphere environment to copy templates / vms across datacenters that are geographically separated.

Copy BW template (cube, query, web application) to multiple BW systems

We have a set of cube, query and web applications in a BW system. And we'd like to copy the set of objects to other BW systems as a BW template.
(Q1) We know we can transfer the set of obejcts to other BW systems by using STMS and AWB. But if so we have to make connection between two systems. We'd like to avoid coping the template via internet or intranet.
Is it possible to copy the BW template to other BW systems by using CD-ROM/DVD?
(Q2) When we do copy the template, if there is an InfoObject with same name existing in copy-to system, I suppose there will be an error. Is there a solution to avoid this situation?

here are more details for the procedure mentioned above:
Datafiles of transport requests are in most SAP-Installations located in /usr/sap/trans/data. They are named R<# of transport request>.<SID>
The cofiles are in most SAP-Installtions located in /usr/sap/trans/cofiles. They are named K<# of transport request>.<SID>
Do NOT change the names of the files. We've discovered that it's safer to zip those files, as some virus scanners in email-servers may scramble the files.
Locate the files in the appropriate directory of the target system and go to the import-queue using STMS.
Chose Extras / Other requests / Add to add the request to the queue (note: you must use the request number of the source-system e.g. <SID>K900123)
When you start the import, choose option "Overwrite Objects in unconfirmed Repairs", when you want existing objects to be overridden.

Copy std. Fiori app into Z

Hi,
I want to copy std. Fiori app (Create sales order - SD_SO_CRE) into my new Z (I don't want to modify the standard one), but I realized that there is no starting point, because Fiori app is started from Launchpad, so what I need to add? I think I need Index.html + App.controller.js + App.view.js...does anyone have these files prepared for std. Fiori applications to get them worked without Launchpad?

Hi Jili,
The standalone parameter is available from UI Add-on SP09 with SAPUI5 library 1.22.3.
It hides some of buttons.
You can start your extended app by changing application alias in the target mapping.

Copying a template database

hey,
I am wondering how to copy a template database I have created (templte.mdb)to another directory using SQL. I am writing a program in java and using the javax.sql package. The way the program operates is that at 12 o clock at night a new database is created for that date 2 year ahead. So for example tonight at 12 o'clock a copy of the database (template.mdb) would be placed in the folder c://databases//2006//march//..... The problem is that I dont know the commands to copy the template database exactly. I need to keep the same column names,structure etc in all the databases!
Any help would be greatly appricated

An Access database file....
1. Put a blank database into a directory.
2. Copy that file using Runtime.exec() to the destination directory, giving it a new name.
3. Start using it.

I/O error on ext3 while copying a template

This is my config:
Sun Server with AIC7902 SCSI card.
2Gb RAM
2*72 Gb disk
I installed Oracle VM succesfully, but when I try to copy a template with FTP, HTTP, CDROM, or anything else, I got an I/O error on an ext3 partition even if I wanted to copy the file to /OVS (ocfs)

When I boot the server with the grub choice 2.6.18-8.1.6.0.18.el5BOOT I can FTP my files but xend is not loaded and I can't use VM Manager in this case.
I tried to FTP a template into the seed_pool directory and then reboot in normal mode but when I try to create a virtual image using the template (which I created succesfully with VM Manager), nothing append.

Copy vm template as a package

Hi all,
I want to give my VM template as package.
I have a SCVMM installed on Windows. I have created a custom Linux VM and is up and running. I have created a VM Template using this existing VM. The Template is generated (which is a folder with vhd files) and is available in the SCVMM library share.
Now I want to copy the Template folder to another Share, so as to enable people to copy the template from the share to deploy VMs in their setups. How can I do this?
I manually copied the folder with the vhd files to another SCVMM server, did a refresh Server. But the SCVMM is not showing the folder as a template.
Please share some light on copying this template to another host..

Only the VHD can go backward from SCVMM 2012 / R2 to SCVMM 2008 / SP 1 - not the settings.
Going forward from SCVMM 2008 has a similar issue, since Export from SCVMM appeared with the 2012 release (if I recall properly).
A deployed VM can be exported using Hyper-V Manager. But again, the OS profile is lost.

Profit Center should not change after copying from Template

Hi,
I have a scenario wherein there is an operative project which has a profit center maintained at the project definition level. I copy the WBS structure on to the 2nd level from a template which has a different profit center maintained at the WBS level. My requirement is that the profit center maintained in the template should remain as it is after i copy the template to the operative project.
As of now after copying the template the profit center changes to the one maintained at the project definition level after i save the operative project. Is there a way by which i can restrict the system from copying the profit center maintained at the project definition level to the 2nd level WBS (which is copied from the template)?

Presently i am checking with my ABAPer if we can use some user exit and get this done which i think will require considerable amount of time. In case you have any other suggestions please suggest.

I already opened a TAR. As (according to the Portal docs) exporting Portal applications to future versions is not supported, waiting for another Portal release would mean starting our applications from the scratch. For this reason, bugfixes in future releases are of no really use in our case, and we definitely HAVE to find a solution for this quite crucial problem.

Hi Everyone, I was told that with Dreamweaver it is possible to copy another websites templates? What are the steps in copying another websites template with Dreamweaver? I would like to know I am a newbie when it comes to this program so please make your statement understandable for me, thanks. Also, I am having problems creating a drop down menu for each of my web pages. When I go to highlight a specific box on my homepage I want the dropdown menu to appear vertically and not horizontally. I may have missed something when watching the video tutorials or I didn't quite understand what they meant. This is difficult to understand. How are you copying templates from another site?
If you have all the files that make up the template, then it's only a matter of saving all the files to a folder on your hard drive and setting up a site definition pointing to this folder. You then work on the files as usual.

Without seeing the page it's difficult to judge what your problem is. If possible, please upload the files to a remote server and provide a link to the page. It's the only way people can help - if they see your page in action.

Edit / copy a template in Connector Administration Cockpit

Hello out there.
We´ve got a pretty new ESH 7.2 installation. We´re just beginning to fool around with it, and I´m wondering about some configurations..
What I want to do is change the "title"(headline?) of a file-search-result - right now, by default, it seems to be some meta title of the file. I´d like to see the actual file name.
Now, I assume I have to adjust that thing via "template modeler" which leads me to the "Connector Administration Cockpit". There, it seems I´m not allowed to edit the existing FIle-Search template - which is not a bad thing, let´s keep the defaults.
So I figured they want me to create a copy and then customize that one.
And there´s my actual problem: When I want to copy it, and try to name my copy "FILE2", I get an error Object type FILE2 has to start with Y, Z in customer systems. When I try to name it "Z_FILE", it says Objects starting with Y or Z cannot be created in SAP software component. Seems to be a dead-end..
-> Am I doing something wrong? Is this the right place to do the changes I´m looking for at all? Did anyone stumble upon the same problem?

As I said, my intention was to try to use the filename as "title" of the search result, this was the default in 7.0 I think.

While creating master items, can I add a check on copy template on the item to ensure item is created using some template?
This will ensure many attributes gets proper value. If template is not copied, in later phases user faces problem with few attributes not being set.

Regarding the final PDF you produce with the Print button; when the user hits the Print button the usual printer dialogue box is launched and s/he can select which pages he wants to print and the number of copies. I think this is what you said this is what your customer wants.
Note: when you add the Print button, within the Acrobat Forms facility, you then go to Button Properties dialogue box and select Actions, select the trigger (i.e. On Mouse Down); Add an Execute a menu Item, click on Add and select File > Print from the drop-down list. A bit complicated to explain here, but easier enough if you have a play around with it. Acrobat Forms are a wonderful facility – well worth exploring the many things you can do with them. Especially if you set up your document first in InDesign!
