Copy tftp many files

Hi everybody,
I need to copy many files into the router.i tried to copy a list of "copy tftp://ip-address/file-name flash:"
Is there a way to do it easier and faster without asking question for each copy

You can pack all file to archive for example to yourfiles.tar, place to TFTP root and than unpack from router with command archive. Archive commands syntax depends on your IOS version.
Following command should copy and unpack files from yourfiles.tar to flash
router#archive tar /extract tftp://yourTFTP_IP/yourfiles.tar flash:
M.
Hope that helps, rate if it does

  • How to copy as many files as possible off a partially damaged HD?

I've got an external HD attached to my machine. The external HD was an internal one of another machine (which was running OS X 10.6.x) but there's something wrong with it (the other machine failed to start up with it). It mounts on my machine fine. I started off trying to make a disk image using Disk Utiltiy. It started off fine, then got so far and said, I forget exactly, but along the lines of read error, or I/O error. So I guess one part (or several parts) of the drive is damaged while other parts are fine.
How can I copy what files are readable to another drive, short of doing them manually/individually?
    Thanks.

Other than copying them individually, the only option would be to try one of the various file recovery utilities such as Data Rescue (Prosoft Engineering), or File Salvage (SubRosaSoft). No guarantees that even those will be able to recover files from a failing hard drive, but they might be able to get at least some of the data. The only other option would be to send the drive to a data recovery service, and those are very expensive.
    Regards.

  • How do you copy many files at once from flash to tftp??

I am going to upgrade a CCME 3.3 router to 4.01 and I would like to back up all files in flash before I upgrade. Is there a way to backup the entire contents of flash to an ftp or tftp server in a one line command??
copy flash:*.* tftp://192.168.1.1/*.* does not work??
I was looking at the archive command but could not see how I could use it to copy all the files in flash to a server in a "one liner"??
    Thanks in advance,
    Tony

The contets of the flash can be backeup. For more details regarding the configuration follow the url,

  • I am getting a warning need more space on my disk. I have checked the Console and there have been 4000 thousand messages in my system log in the last 2 days. I have emptied as many files as possible.

    Hi
I am getting a warning on opening my mac saying I need more space as my setup disk is full.  I have emptied many files as well as my Trash.  I am planning to get an external drive for my photos, but it has been suggested that I check Console and under the system log the following message (of which they say 4000 messages have been logged in 2 days) '06/06/2014 16:08:23.341 com.apple.dynamic_pager: dynamic_pager: Need more space on the disk to enable swapping'.  This is a copy of one of the items.  It is from the system log.  I really do not think I have enough files to warrant this warning, with the exception of photos.  My storage shows 143 MB free out of 120.47. Thanks for any help.

First off, no MacBook Air can run 10.3 or earlier.
Secondly, are you sure you only have 143MB of storage free?  That's seriously low.  With MacBook Airs of 120 GB hard drives, or even 140 GB which is often the case when it says out of 120, you shouldn't allow your free space to go down below 20 GB.  MB is 1024 fold less than a GB.  So if you really have 143MB free on a MacBook Air, you are long past the minimum space you should be keeping it at, and need to start clearing a lot of space now*:
    http://www.macmaps.com/diskfull.html
I'm asking this thread be moved to the MacBook Air forum,a as we can't say for certain what you have when you post in the 10.3 or earlier forum.

  • I have copied my CDs into iTunes  (currently running v11) to play on my iPod.  I have now bought a non Apple mp3 player to use when I am out running.  How can I copy the many tracks I want from iTunes onto the new player?

I have copied my CDs into iTunes  (currently running v11) to play on my iPod.  I have now bought a non Apple mp3 player to use when I am out running.  How can I copy the many tracks I want from iTunes onto the new player?
    Thanks

I tried Notpod but can't get it to work.  Part of the problem, I suspect, is that I can't create a folder on my player (a SanDisk Clip+).  I also can't do this in Windows Explorer.  Whilst I can see the Clip+ in Explorer, the option to create a new folder isn't there.
The error mesag I get in Notpod is:
"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application.  If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue.  If you click Quit the application will close immediately.
InvalidArgument=Value of '0' is not valid for 'SelctedIndex'. Parameter name: SelectedIndex"
Then, when I plug the Clip+ into a USB port, iTunes thinks it is my iPad - which is because, I guess, Notpod hasn't worked.
I can drag and drop files from the Music folder where my iTunes tracks are stored onto the Clip+ and they get converted but I'd rather synchronise a Playlist from iTunes if I can.
    Thanks anyone who can help

  • Photoshop CS5.1 Extended: Could not complete your request because there are too many Files Open

I saved a file last night and now this morning I get an error message stating: "Photoshop CS5.1 Extended: Could not complete your request because there are too many Files Open. Try closing some windows and try again.". I've rebooted the system and made sure Photoshop was the only program running and that there were no other files open prior to trying to open my file. I increased Photoshops ram usage, checked the OpenGL settings, 3D and VRAM settings, cleared my temp files and am at a loss for opening this file.
    System Specs:
    Win 7 64
    6 core I7 processor
    32gb Ram
    3GB VRAM
600gb free space on 7200 rpm drive
    File specs:
1 3D object replicated maybe 5 times (yes, I should have rasterized them, and will do that to 4 of them if I get the file open)
    Maybe 8 textures
Not sure how many total layers.
Is there anyway to get Photoshop to reopen this file?

No, more VRAM is useless. I had the same thought as you so I tried with a friend's computer with 3GB of VRAM for 8GB RAM (mine has 1GB VRAM for 16GB RAM). Still got the same error message. Sorry guys but our files are lost until Adobe fix the error in Photoshop code. I hope in the future they will find a way to either fix this error or give a clear limitation, it is really a shame such a dangerous problem exists and persists for more than 3 photoshop gen.
Still you may be able to have at least a flat image of your latest file by trying to open the file as smart object. I started my work over by doing that. Not a lot but better than nothing.
However for my new file I am trying something different : Each time I think a 3D file is final, I do not rasterize it but make it into a smart object and save the new smart object into a single separated .psd file. If any change is needed I can still edit all of my 3D objects by opening them separately. So far it works, the global file is lighter with few to no 3D objects inside but I will not say it is a 100% no-risk method yet.
Last advice I can give everyone : Before closing the file you are working on, save it as a copy (File / Save as... and check 'As copy' in the options below) then with your main file still open, try to open the copy. You may need a lot of memory if your file is heavy but still if the dreaded error message appears when you try to open the copy then remove or rasterize some 3D objects in your main one. Save again as copy and try to open the copy until you do not get the message anymore.

  • Sync fails in iTunes 9.0 & 9.01: "too many files open" and error -6999

I've been trying to synch my iPod (Touch, g1) for the last couple weeks but have been getting errors ever since going to iTunes 9.0.
First it blew my library and now says "Previous iTunes Libraries" at the top. Can live with that (after going through and reloading about 2/3s of the album artwork).
But now am getting two errors every time I try to sync. One is, "Attempting to copy to the disk '[my iPod's name]' failed. There are too many files open currently."
Elsewhere I saw it suggested for this error that I turn off sharing, but, alas, sharing isn't turned on.
The second error message is, "The iPod '[my iPod's name]' cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-6999)." and I can't find any mention by Apple about what to do about this.
    HELP. Please.

There has been some advice to turn off "sharing" to stop getting the "too many files open" error message, but, as noted in my question, sharing was already turned off in the iTunes Preferences.
But, it turns out, of course, that there is another kind of sharing in the 9.x iTunes -- the one for sharing libraries on your local network. Don't know why they are different because the function seems the same, but I noticed that there was still an icon for "home sharing" or "house sharing" (little picture of a house) on the library/playlist list in iTunes.
I right clicked on the house icon and found another checkbox switch there. I turned that one off too (Why Apple?) and, voila, the "too many files" error has (apparently) gone away.
Hope this helps some others out there.
Apparently you have to turn off sharing in two different places. (Again; why is that, Apple?)

  • LTFS is slow when dealing with many files

Working with LTFS on Windows 7 64, I find find that it slows down significantly when dealing with many files (>1500)
From the behaviour, I suspect that it has to do with the number of file handles.
Some LTFS vendors have a copy utility that deals very well with this situation.
I could not find anything like that for HP.
Does it exist? Is there an open source solution?
    Thank you,
    - Bartels

Can someone from the Experts please respond?
Your LTFS solution is in certain situations much slower than the competitors; the difference is a huge factor three..
I would really like to know if there is a solution or not. Either way.

  • Renaming many files

How would I rename many files (over 100 total) in a directory using
    a UNIX command or script.
    Example of my files:
    file1.word.1.word
    file2,word,2
    file3 word.3
I want them to be named:
    File1_word_1_word
    File2_word_2
    File3_word_3
My goal is to get rid of blanks, commas and periods and replace with underline bars for each file name.

    Hi:
I had a lot of fun wrting this script. Hope you find it useful.
Copy the following to a file name
    #!/bin/csh
    if(-d $1) then
    cd $1
    foreach i (*)
    set ii = `echo $i | sed s/\\\./_/g | sed s/\,/_/g | sed s/\ /_/g`
    mv "$i" $ii
    end
    else
    echo "USAGE: $0 directory"
    endif
give permission to execute. Run it with the directory name as an argument. May be you can refine it further.
It was fun! hope it helped.

  • Too many files on 10.4 Desktop - Finder won't load

    2.66 DualCore Intel Xeon + OSX 10.4.10 + 2Gb DDR2 DIMM + 230Gb ST3250820AS + OPTIARC DVD RW AD-7170A
Despite recurrent warnings, a relative kept leaving too many files on the Desktop, up to 300 files (JPGs, downloaded archives). Last week, after attempting to move/copy them to a folder, OSX crashed, and now Finder won't load; after password screen, menu bar and Dock appear, the 'MyDay' app (from Entourage) starts bouncing, and system freezes. Sometimes it goes back to password screen, and from there again to a frozen, empty finder with dead mouse pointer. Other times the spinning clock or wheel remain spinning forever.
Tried DiskUtility, repaired disk and permissions, reset PRAM, no dice.
Tried to boot off the 10.4.10 DVD, it doesn't allow to run OSX from the disc (I have a vague recollection of doing this once, but...)
Started in SafeBoot mode, finder froze at same stage.
Re-Installed OSX 10.4.10 in Archive and Install mode, same freeze at same stage.
The only explanation for the crash, as no updates/new app installing happened, is that there are, again, too many loose files on the desktop and as it tries to load the Finder it crashes. I'm hauling the machine ASAP to try with my own Intel to try access his disk via FireWire target mode but worry the same thing will happen on my system, that it will balk at too many files.
Is there a way to try to fix this without resorting to clean install (needless to say, last backup was months ago)? If I install Leopard on that disk (it comes out fine in Disk Utility) will the same thing happen as soon as it tries to load the Finder? Is there a way to boot 10.4 off a CD/DVD?
Thanks for any info or tips!

    Welcome to the forums!
Make your relative write this out 1000 times:
Performance tip: Keep the Desktop clutter-free (empty, if possible)
Mac OS X's Desktop is the de facto location for downloaded files, and for many users, in-progress works that will either be organized later or deleted altogether. The desktop can also be gluttonous, however, becoming a catch-all for files that linger indefinitely.
Unfortunately - aside from the effect of disarray it creates - keeping dozens or hundreds of files on the Desktop can significantly degrade performance. Not necessarily because the system is sluggish with regard to rendering the icons on the desktop and storing them in memory persistently (which may be true in some cases), but more likely because keeping an excessive number of items on the Desktop can cause the windowserver process to generate reams of logfiles, which obviously draws resources away from other system tasks. Each of your icons on your desktop is stored as a window in the window server, not as an alias. The more you have stored, the more strain it puts on the window server. Check your desktop for unnecessary icons and clear them out.
Keeping as few items as possible on the Desktop can prove a surprisingly effective performance boon. Even creating a single folder on your Desktop and placing all current and future clutter inside, then logging out and back in can provide an immediately noticeable speed boost, particularly for the Finder.
And it is why Apple invented 'Stacks' for Leopard.

  • Word cannot complete the operation because too many files are open

    Hello,
I'm working on a 60 pg. document, and when I hit 'save', I get this annoying msg.:
"word cannot complete the operation because too many files are open." I have no other files open, and I am unable to continue to work, because I cannot save - can anyone help? Thanks!

    Hello Kristina,
Have you been able to save the file at all?
More than anything, it seems to be a bug when you're trying to save to a server. There's more on the problem here. So what you can also try is simply saving the file to your desktop, or somewhere on your Mac's hard drive. That way you're saving the file locally instead of to a server. If that works, you've at least saved the file and can continue on. Otherwise, read on.
If you can't do it from Word, then at least save your changes from another application. Open TextEdit. You should get a blank file on the desktop. Make sure it's set as a rich text file. You'll know just be looking at it. If you see a ruler and other buttons at the top of the TextEdit document window, it's rich text. If not, make it rich text by pressing CommandShiftT.
Copy and paste your entire Word text into the TextEdit window. Save the TextEdit document to the desktop. Now that you've at least gotten your work saved, you can try some other things.
If you're not trying to work on the file from, or save it to a remote server, then don't worry about the first workaround. It doesn't apply. Number two was poorly worded by John. He seems to assume everyone knows what RH is. I had to look it up. It means Remote Home folder. So open the Word preferences and click on FIle Locations. Highlight the first choice, Documents, and click on the Modify button. Choose any location you want on your Mac's hard drive. Click "Choose" and close the preferences. Can you now save the document to the folder you defined as the default save location?
Spotlight is that little magnifying glass in the upper right corner of your screen by the time/date. There are a few methods to disable Spotlight. What John is saying that if the Mac is spending a lot of time indexing your drives at the same time you're trying to save your Word document, the intense processing time to index may be keeping Word from saving.
If you've managed to at least save your file as a rich text TextEdit document, then shut all of your applications down and restart your Mac. Launch Word and open the TextEdit file. You may lose some formating if you've done tables or other things TextEdit can't save in Word's original form.

  • Copying speed of files has slowed down significantly

copying speed of files has slowed down significantly
and if initiate two different copy processes then it slows so much that 1 GB data takes time like it was 15GB

Again, it depends on file types. Sometimes Apple files are not single files but packages of many smaller files, for example the iPhoto Library. Right-click in Finder, if there's "Show Package Contents", then it is technically not a single file.
For simple file transfer from one machine to another per USB drive, it can save some time to zip the data before and after transfer to and from the USB drive.

  • When working on Illustrator project, it generate many file AIVMFile, 16Mo per file for almost 7Go of disk space, and decrease performance.

Illustrator is installed on a windows Laptop, Windows Seven, Illustator 16.0.3. (last update available).
We tried to reinstall the application, but no effect.
Is this nomral that Illustrator create so many file, hundreds in a few hours, and takes 3 to 7 GO space disk ?
When I close Illustrator, all files are deleted.
When working with illustrator the computer is slow.
    Thank

I am aware of the filesystem defragmentation, but most require offline operation and if you pre-write the disk space you need, then this is only going to be required if the file grows a lot further than you assumed.
The myths about filesystems suchas ext3 and XFS being "good" at locality and never needing de-fragmentation are unfortunately all incorrect and based upon the average user's use of text files and other relatively small files. Other filesystems on UNIX are better or worse than these two. In a server environment with a 24 hour operation, there is no down time available to perform defrag, unless it is scheduled or you use an HA solution that allows it. By far the simplest solution is to pre-write the file as fast as possible.
The effects of doing this are marked:
    1) Write your file
    2) defrag it;
    3) Copy the key/data pairs from the file to yet another file, but this time in key sorted order (traverse the original, write the new one);
    4) Defrag this new file and compress the keys etc
Then measure the performance of file traversal. Here you will reap the benefit of allowing the underlying operating system/file system to manage the reads and writes as it will almost always perform track reads/writes.
Of course if your database access is entirely random, then the benefit is reduced, but even so, the locality of allocation will reduce the disk dancing required until your data is in cache and the trickle deamon will be more efficient.
Hence, the ability to hole fill is a trivial piece of code that is filesystem agnostic and entirely backward compatibile (as if you don't make a call to do it then it will just behave as it always has). Something as simple as DB->pre_alloc(DB, sizeinMb); would do it (little point in doing this for less than megabytes).

  • DRS Restore error in TFTP .tar file

I have made a backup of CUCM 8.0.2c, but when I do a restore on another vmware server with the same specs, I get an error in the logs that the TFTP tar file was partly restored, everything else is restored. I think the error has something to do with a truncated file issue. How important is the TFTP tar file for the restore? My main concern is the actual configurations as I want to upgrade to version 9.1.2. Will new TFTP files be installed when I upgrade? How can I repair the file?

I have done numerous backups but same error when I restore. My question is will new Firmware/IP Phone loads be copied into CUCM when I upgrade thus over writing existing TFTP folder with new Firmware/IP phone load files? Is it absolutely critical that the TFTP .tar is fully restored with no errors? Will an upgrade not install new files to the TFTP? I have logged a TAC case but I am running out of time.

  • How can I copy or move files with elements 10 organizer ?

    Hello,
since a couple of days I use Elements10 Organizer under Windows 7 Home.  Since then Im testing how to come along with the product and it's features. Though I had many good impressions of many functions that work excellent I now have severe problems  to organize my workflow. The problem is: I can*t copy or move files or directories with the organizer and worse, I can't find files or directories that where copied, moved or renamed by Windows 7 Explorer even when I import or load the specified directory into the elements10  catalogue again. Off course I understand the elements 10 philosophy to have an image only one time within the data base and to arrange every collecting idea by tags and catagiories. Nevertheless there is a need to have sometimes a copy and also to know where the copy is and to manage it. Right now I find no way to handle these tasks by elements 10 organizer. I am a newbe on photoshop elements.
I would appreciate if there is anybody who knows a solution to me. Thanks and bye, Woenni

I am also having this same exact problem. Only some, and not all of the files on my external hard drive will copy. I get the "No Symbol" when trying to copy or move files.
I am able to duplicate all files. I also can right click on a file and select copy. However on some files, I can't ever paste it (paste doesn't show up or is grayed out), drag it to another folder, or drag-and-copy it to another location or drive.
The files are not locked and I have read and write permissions.
The external that I'm trying to move and copy files from is a FAT32. Could that be a problem? How do I get my files off of this drive?
