Copy to Backup Cude

Folks,
I'm trying to fix an issue we have in the DP planning book, message is date it outside of the storage buckets profile, and I'm wondering how I can back up my data to an info cube, then de-initialize the planning area, create a new time series for the planning area and then re-initialize that planning area to hopefully fix the issue.
Need the appropriate steps for this, I'm new to APO and have only had the SNP training and none on DP.
Thanks
Paul

It explains how you extract DP time series data into a BI Infocube. Basically you generate a Datasource and Infocube using transaction /SAPAPO/SDP_EXTR and then follow BI practices for creating transformations, DTP and Infopackages.
This whole process needs to be tested thorougly in Development/ Quality environments before you can use it in Production.
Having said that, I dont think you should de-initialize the planning area because of the error. If your analysis and help from the forum does not solve the problem its better to get SAP to look at the error. De-initialize and restore should be the last option.

  • How can I restore backup if I copy the backup (Think Vantage RR 4.0) to another storage

After I copy a backup to another storage, it is not possible to restore this backup, because the old path, from the other storage is entered. Is there a possibility to change this path and restore the backup?
    thx for help!

Are you launching the restore operation from within Windows?
You may be able to browse to the copied backup if you boot R&R from a CD/DVD.

Don't you just love changes in interfaces?
I found the answer to my question.
When you attach a device (iPhone, iPad) to your Mac, in iTunes 12 in appears as a tiny icon in the second "row" of the iTunes display. Click the icon and the familiar iTunes display for the device appears. From there, on the Summary screen, you can see the dates of the backups of the device (iCloud and backup to the computer). You can also use the button to backup to the computer.

  • Can I copy a Backup file from one PC to another and use it?

IPhone got all screwed up with the update on my home PC and wont restore, my PC at work does it fine, but my backup file is on my home PC. Can I copy my Backup file from my home PC and put it on my work PC to restore my IPhone?

Before your restoring your iPhone with your PC at work, you can create a backup of your iPhone on the PC before restoring.
With your iPhone connected and available in the iTunes source list, control click on your iPhone and select Back Up.

  • I am having to install tbird again on a new system, I copied and backup-ed my previous emails. When I view my copies and/or restored email files are empty. Why?

I am having to install tbird again on a new system, I copied and backup-ed my previous emails. When I view my copies and/or restored email files they are empty, nothing is displayed and the window shows message of being empty. I an sure of the backup and of my copy/paste steps. Where and/or what has happened to my emails? I also searched each disk and all files for email extensions (*.mozmsgs and *.sbd and *.sbf) with no results. I can not find a way to restore over 10 years worth of very important emails. Can someone please help me recover what I know is their? All my emails in Seamonkey are on another system (the one I replaced with new win7 pro 64 i7 based system) and all the emails I had in tbird, before having to reinstall everything on new system due to something that happened to the os, are the copied and backup-ed files that are showing empty. Prior to new install all old Seamonkey emails transferred to tbird and all the tbird emails prior were their and were the copied/backup-ed files showing empty now. This is turning into my worst experience and nightmare in over 25 years of systems. I am really lost on this one. please help....

Are you saying you split your profile between C and D drive, perhaps through specifying a location in the account settings.
    BTW.
*.mozmsgs useless duplicate files created for windows search integration. Simply wasted space on the disk.
*.sbd a folder indicating the presence of a sub folder (contains no mail at all.
*.sbf (I don't know that one.
*.msf an index of mail. contains tags, but otherwise useless and will be recreated when the mail is loaded in Thunderbird so it can display the mail list.
*. that is no file extension. You mail in files with the same name as the folders they came from.

  • System Copy/ Oracle Backup/Restore as part of migrating from 32 to 64-bit

    Source system (I386): R3E47 Ext Set 2.00 SAP_BASIS 620 Kernel 640 Windows 2000, Oracle 10.2.0.4, non-unicode
    Target system (x86-64/AMD64): R3E47 Ext Set 2.00 SAP_BASIS 620 Kernel 640 Windows 2000 Oracle 10.2.0.4, non-unicode
Am using method System Copy/ Oracle Backup/Restore to migrate from 32 to 64 bit (HOM System Copy).
    Actions on source system:
    a) Upgrade from 9.2.0.7 to Oracle 10.2.0.4
    b) Used ora_br_copy.bat to generate CONTROL.SQL and init<sid>.ora
    c) Switched logfiles
    d) Performed offline backup
    Actions on target system:
    a) Installed Oracle 10.2.0.1 and patched it to 10.2.0.4
    b) Used CD 51033746 "6.20/6.40 based products Installation Master (Edition May 2008)" to install the CI
    c) Started installation of the DB instance selecting System Copy/ Oracle Backup/Restore (same <SID> for source and target systems)
    Relevant input parameters used:
    Database schema: SAPR3
    Database character set: US7ASCII
    d) When SAPINST stopped to allow for restoring of datafiles, logs and init<sid.ora>:
    - copied datafiles and logs to the usual place
    - copied CONTROL.SQL (edited to include utilrp.sql and utlrp.sql for the migration from 32 to 64) to the DB-instance intallation . directory.
    - copied generated init<SID>.ora to the <ORACLE_HOME>\database
    e) Resumed SAPINST.
David Byrne in a previous post suggested: "check your oracle alert file in case there are errors there you may need to update the word size for the 64bit install. Errors like this in the oracle alert file would suggest that.,
    ORA-12012
    ORA-06544: PL/SQL: internal error, arguments: [ORA-06544: PL/SQL: internal error, arguments: 56319], [, ], [, ], [, ], [
    ORA-06553"
Well, I am getting ORA-06553: PLS-801: internal error [56319] but then my edited CONTROL.SQL (which is mainly a CREATE CONTROLFILE as it would be obtained with a ...BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO TRACE) includes at the end this:
    shutdown immediate
    startup upgrade
    spool utlirp.log
    @?/rdbms/admin/utlirp.sql
    spool off
    Shutdown immediate
    Startup
    Spool utlrp.log
    @?/rdbms/admin/utlrp.sql
    Spool off
    exit
which is supposed to do just that... (I think)
    Help, anyone?

    > Trying to cheer me up, are you?
    No
    > It is NOT free that reorganization! Quite expensive, actually, paid for in time! But you're right... the database needed a reorg anyway :-\
True, not "free" - it takes time but the data will be nicely aligned then
    > And why would I have to reconfigure all those 10.2 features? Everything's either in the database or init<sid>.ora, ain't it? And my database is a pretty 10.2.0.4 with all those nice features already activated...
No - not really auotmatically if you upgraded from 9.2 And "init<SID>.ora" is past, you nowadays use "spfile" If, of course, e. g. Automatic Undo was activated in 9.2 then it's there of course in 10.2 too.
    > One sticky point... I haven't really read the r3load procedure yet and I will before I import, but... I would say I don't have to do anything about the 32->64 bit, right? I mean, it should behave properly while reloading on 64-bit...
The exported content is about 10 % of the size of the system, it's database and OS independent so yes, you can import it nicely on 32bit. Another tip: make sure you don't just use the default configurations for R3load, it will take a HUGE amount of time. Use the package splitter (builtin-in in sapinst) so you get a much higher parallelism when importing.

  • Can I copy old backups from an external HD to a new one? Thanks for your help.

I'm using time machine on an external hard disc (1 TB) for more than a year now. Now the eHD is nearly full and I would like to change to a bigger one. Is it possible to copy the backups from the old one to the new one? Thanks a lot for your help.

Hello Joe Gramm. Thank you for the link. This is what I was trying to do 2 days ago. I think the problem is, that the old eHD doesn't have the "Ignore ownership on this volume" button, while the new one has it. Therefore I tried to change the rights of access on everything (see above)... Trying to copy now brings me the following message: "Das Backup kann nicht kopiert werden, da beim Backup-Volume kein Eigentümer aktiviert ist." translatet something like: the backup could not be copied, because there is no owner activated on the backup-volume. Do you have any ideas how to change that or how to proceed? Many thanks for any input!

  • Copy or backup to external hard drive

Could someone help me copy or backup my music to an external hard drive? I tried, but what ended up on the hard drive doesn't look familiar to me at all.
    thank you in advance

If the songs in your library are not all in the iTunes Music folder you should start by consolidating them. When you consolidate, any songs in the iTunes Library that are not in the iTunes Music Folder are copied to the Music Folder and the Library is updated to point to those new files. Files already in the iTunes Music Folder have no changes made to them: Copying all your iTunes files to one location - Windows
Once you have everything safely in the iTunes Music folder copy the iTunes folder from your internal hard drive to the external drive. Copying the whole folder brings with it the iTunes Music folder and also the iTunes Library (iTunes Library.itl in Windows) database file which holds all the information about your songs (Playlists, Ratings, Play Counts, Last Played, Date Added, etc). You'll get more information including the Folder/File structure in this article: What are the iTunes library files?

  • HT5096 how about copying the backup to a server instead of a hard drive?

how about copying the backup to a server instead of a hard drive? Doesn't seem to work.

ISP's cap your upload speed to a fraction of your download so you don't run a server off your computer.
You can certainly spend more money to upload faster, but it's a waste of money and the data online can vanish or be held or spied upon.
Then there is a prolem that you want to restore your system and there is slow Internet.
Apple now requires fresh OS X installs to come from them online, it's better to have local drive to boot from anytime, so a bootable clone is ideal, better than TimeMachine which is only a backup system

  • HT1386 I backup my boss iphone to my pc, i copy the backup file to his PC, can he restore the backup to his iphone using his pc and will not reset his iphone.  Thanks so much

    Hi,
I backup my boss iphone to my pc, i copy the backup file to his PC, can he restore the backup to his iphone using his pc and will not reset his iphone.  Thanks so much

Put the device in DFU mode and restore.
When he gets back to the computer that he normally syncs with, he can restore from his backup.  Everything since that last backup will be lost.
Start apologizing now... keep it up for a few months to several years.
Then hopefully you will learn to leave other peoples stuff alone.

  • Computer crashed, went to launch Thunderbird and the email files were gone, copied from backup and they are getting erased.

Lost power on the computer and when it came back, went through the Windows 7 stuff and went to launch Thunderbird and the email files were gone. I copy them back from a backup to the directory and when I launch TB the tree is there in the correct order but when I click on something they all disappear. Another thing I can't do is create a directory under the host name, when I right click on the host name > New Folder > and try and create it under the host name it goes under the Inbox which is directly under the host name. If I try and drag to there I want it I get an error like the directory already exists. I still have the files/directories functioning on a laptop so not in total panic mode. Thanks
    ~Dave

Discovered the problem, TB configured the email account as IMAP rather than POP. I went in and manually changed it to POP, copied the backup files and all better now.
I would have deleted the original post but thought I'd post a follow up instead.

  • Is it possible to copy iCloud backup to Mac for manual restore of iPhone?

Hey guys, thank you in advance for your help.
I've been backing up to icloud since I got my 4S, and have only been manually copying selected photos to my iPhoto library. Recently my camera roll and camera started acting strange (lagging, not loading/storing properly) so I wasn't surprised when iTunes told me I needed to update my iPhone software. When it tried to install the update, iTunes couldn't recognize the phone (not surprising considering how glitchy it had been) and told me I needed to restore the phone. Nbd, right?
I backed up to iCloud one last time, initiated the restore, and then went to bed. I woke up this morning to discover that fewer than half of my photos had been returned to my camera roll, and my photo stream had disappeared. I went into Settings-->General-->iCloud on my phone and it said the restore was incomplete. I got the restore back on track (it picked up where it had left off [thank Goodness] instead of starting over completely). It's currently creeping along, loading a new photo every few minutes, and videos are taking approximately a year each (I exaggerate, but only slightly).
Frustrated, I checked my photostream in iPhoto on my Mac to see if I could bypass the problem by using that to recover the photos from the past week (nearly everything valuable had been imported already). My plan was to scrap the restore and start fresh with an empty camera roll, re-populated via Photostream. But for some reason the photos and videos from the past week never made it to Photostream.
And thus, the waiting game continues.
In a nutshell: I need to know if it's possible to copy the iCloud folder that contains my full backup directly to my Mac and then do the restore from there.
Also, is it possible to backup the iPhone to iCloud AND your computer? iTunes makes it look like they're mutually exclusive, and as much as I appreciate the convenience and security of iCloud (i.e. having a backup in the event of loss, theft, etc. of phone and/or computer) I don't like being cut off from my data like this.
Thank you for your time; have an awesome day!:)

    No.
