Copy video to iPad from iMac

I have a 257 meg video (.MOV file) on my iMac desktop, AND show in the iTunes library, which I'm trying to copy to my iPad (latest version) but haven't been able to do so. Other videos have worked. I can upload it to Dropbox and view the video from Dropbox ... just can't copy it to the iPad.
All comments/suggestions are appreciated.

I don't have a mac but the premise should be the same. Import the video into iTunes. Connect your iPad, click on the name of your iPad, navigate to the videos tab, select the movies, sync and they should transfer over.

On the iPad from the computer does not make sense. If you want to go from iPad to computer - connect the iPad, launch iTunes, right click the iPad name on the left under devices and select Transfer Purchases.
From the computer to the iPad .....
Sync with iTunes.
Connect the iPad to the Mac and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Movies Tab on the right.
Click on all of the movies that you want to sync to the iPad.
Click on the Sync Movies Heading.
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes

If you have them on your computer's iTunes then you can try syncing them by connecting the iPad to your computer and selecting it on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and on the right-hand side on the Movies tab selecting and syncing them to the iPad's Videos app. If you get a message that they are not compatible with the iPad then try doing Advanced > Create iPad Version and then try syncing those versions.
If you can't get them into your computer's iTunes then you will either need to convert them into a compatible format, or you could have a look in the store for AVI players.

I think so. Not sure about the micro SD, however any photos or videos transferred to the iPad via the camera connection kit have to follow a very strict naming convention. The file names have to be 8 characters, DSC_4736 for example. And they have to be in a folder named DCIM
If the gopro doesn't follow this naming convention then the camera kit won't work.
If Gopro has a site or forum you might have better luck getting a more concrete answer there.

I have an iPad mini. Most of the time, I don't use it with a computer, but occasionally, I need to load videos onto it for editing. I have two comptuers I need to load videos from (work and home). Do I understand correctly that this is not possible? I can manage media from multiple computers via iTunes, but it appears that the only way to get videos into the camera roll is to actually sync with iTunes? And that's can only be done with one computer at a time? And that changing which computer I use wipes the iPad?
I've tried both Google Drive and Dropbox as well, and while the videos do show up and are playable, there doesn't appear to be any way to get the videos out of either app. The videos are in MP4 format.
Any advice?

One work around could be: say you sync with comptuer A, use dropbox to get the videos from B to A, then iTunes to get them from A to your iPad.

Airplay is a wireless streaming protocol. It allows content to be pushed from the iPad through the Apple TV onto your connected HDTV.

I am new to the iPad. My desktop machine is a Win 7 PC. I have iTunes installed on it.
I store pix as JPEGs in various folders on the HD filetree.

You sync them via the Photos tab in iTunes in a similar way to how you sync other content to the iPad : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236
You can't select individual photos from folders, you can only sync complet folders - and you also need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go, as only the most recent sycn remains on the iPad; not including photos in a subsequent sycn is how you delete them from the iPad. Each folder that you sync will get it's own album on the iPad in the Photos app.

So far so good. It sounds like you have the correct hardware and adapters to connect to your TV.
Open the System Preferences and click on the Displays settings. If you are trying to display the same image on both the iMac and your TV then click on the 'Arrangement' tab within the display preferance pane, and then check the 'Mirror Displays' check box.
If you are experiencing problems with your setup then please let us know that is not working correctly. Are you seeing anything on your HDTV? Does the Display preference pane show that both your iMac and HDTV displays are recognized?

Sync videos to iPad from Aperture with Videos on external HD

Hi,
I have the a problem when trying to sync videos with my ipad through Aperture.
When I sync videos which are in the mediafolder on the macbook the videos are perfectly synced to my ipad.
But when I have my videos (and Foto Originals) moved to an external Harddisk the videos don't show up in my ipad (the fotos does).
Seems like one hasn't thought about that function inside aperture to be handled by the sync interface in itunes.

this helps to understand the intention on how the applications are programmed, but this is really not very userfriendly How to handle Fotos and Videos if you don't have enough space on your macbook.
Do I have to put the whole mediafolder from aperture to an external disk. Than I don't have the benefit of having a smaller mediafolder on my macbook, without the originals, which I do want to have on an external drive.
Today we're not only talking about external Harddrives, but NAS and iCloud, so I guess this should be optimized then.
But of course this is at the address from apple then, or is there somehow a workaround for that problem??
