Copy Video WITH the audio

I have added an extra audio track to a very long project and everything is synchronized the way it needs to be. Now, I want to copy a section of that project to a new project. If I copy and paste, it works fine, except it won't copy the extra audio track.
Is there any way to do this without having to resynchronize the audio track?

I'm guessing this is not possible. The sad part is that I used the extra audio track in the first place as a way to work around the limitation of iMovie, namely the fact that you can't do ANYTHING with audio.
I exported the audio so that I could do just a simple EQ and compression on the audio source, and the added it back in to the project.
That worked great for the overall project, but now that I want to trim out sections for Youtube, I'm screwed. There is apparently NO WAY to trim section and/or cut out sections and still have the extra audio track stay in sync.
I was REALLY hoping iMovie 09 was going to be usable this time, but I guess it's back to Final Cut...

so, the thing is, i did the animation on flash, exported it, put it on after to edit audio and what not, everything looks fine, previews are good, so, lets render!... every time i render the final video have the audio out of sync, specially the audio that is already on the first video. the video its originally on 12 fps, if i change the interpretation to 24fps, everything get worse. any help?

ok, both Flash and After effect are CS6, i have a Lenovo Ideapad, can handle 64 bits
first i exported the video on .MOV from Flash CS6, without any problems
Then i finished the edition on After Effects, everything look good.
i have tried to render it on MOV, AVI, MP4 and the audio for the video that was exported from flash always get out of sync. i dont really move anything else

  • Synching video with external audio source

We shot an interview, and somehow no audio was recorded...no worries, we had a little digital recorder going as a backup....
I synched the video with the audio, and all is good for about 10 seconds, but then, sure enough, the audio begins to go out of synch,...
I suspect this has to do with the whole 29.97 vs 30 fps issue, i did play around a bit, but couldn't figure it out...
    any suggestions?
    the video is regular DV...
audio is 32hrz WAV (converted to 48 hrtz AIFF, no help)
    anyone?

This is a problem that comes up regularly around here so try searching.
The clips must be different lengths, yes?
The audio clip may be the same length but it must be clipped off.
The way I have dealt with this on a friend's system (using a Canon XL1 as the DV input) was to simply open the Speed window of the of the audio clip and enter a new time so it precisely matched the time of the video clip.
Say the event is exactly 60 seconds long from first frame to last frame. The audio drifts out of sync so it is slightly longer, say, 61 seconds. You control-click on the audio clip in the timeline and enter a new length. It may need to render.
sorry not to have the absolute answer. Double-system sound just doesn't come up very often in my life. Luck, let us know.

What you could do now is break up your video into smaller parts and render them out, then assemble them again as a whole.
I know this is not the best fix, but it might work.
You can duplicate an edit in the main screen, then delete the last bits and export,
do the same for the other half.
Then import the two bits (or more if you need) in a new edit.
Out of curiosity, can you post what format the video is in?
Copy a video straight from the camera to your computer.
Open it in Quicktime player, and with out playing type Apple + i
or Control + i for PCs
It should tell you lots of info about the video, and might help us to see what is wrong.

  • Has anyone else had a problem with the audio not keeping up with the video when switching to full screen on YouTube?

Hi. I have a OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.1 Mac Book Air, Processor 1.86 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.
Has anyone else had a problem with the audio not keeping up with the video when switching to full screen on YouTube?
The video starts out fine, but if I click on the expand icon in the lower right corner of the screen the audio won't keep up.
Refreshing the page don't help at all. In fact, nothing seems to help once it starts.
I did not have this problem at all using Mavericks. The problem started after installing Yosemite.
    Any way to fix it?

only $99, i thought it was closer to $175.

I am trying to import video and the audio doesn't upload with the video. Help.
I upgraded to iMovie 11 because the previous version wouldn't read the type of video I was importing (VOB).  The video imports but not the audio, what do I do?

What are you capturing from?  You may not hear the auido as it's captured but it will be there.  After it's captured can you see the audio waveforms? Do the audio meters move when you play the clip?  If so then go to "View" then "Audio Playback"  and set it to 'Built-in Output" if you're monitoring audio through the computer.

  • How do I import AVI video with stereo audio (and keep it that way)?

Today I just discovered that all the AVI video with stereo audio I've ever imported into a Premiere Pro CS6 project has been mysteriously converted to mono. And I can't find any import setting anywhere that enable me to change this.
    Here's the deal...
I've have an AVI file with stereo audio (the file is actually a stereo sound test that I downloaded to prove that I wasn't imagining things). On my hard drive, I right-click and view the properties:
    Video
    Length: 00:00:36
    Frame width: 320
    Frame height: 240
    Frame rate: 25 frames/second
    Audio
    Bit rate: 128kbps
    Channels: 2 (stereo)
    Audio sample rate: 44 kHz
I click on it to play and listen with headphones--everything is playing in the correct part of the stereo spectrum. Then, I import it to Premiere, click the file name in the left content menu, and check the properties, suddenly they read:
    Type: AVI Movie
    File Size: 1.1 MB
    Image Size: 320 x 240
    Frame Rate: 25.00
Source Audio Format: 11025 Hz - 16 bit - Mono
Project Audio Format: 11025 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Mono
    Total Duration: 00:00:36:15
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.0
Sure enough, I drag it into the sequence, listen to it, and it's indeed playing mono. Outside of Premiere, the original source file still reads and plays correctly with stereo sound.
When I import stereo WAVs and MP3s, it keeps the original stereo channels without me having to do anything special. I even just imported the same exact file as a MOV with stereo audio, and it showed up in Premiere as:
Source Audio Format: 44100 Hz - 16 bit - Stereo
Project Audio Format: 44100 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo
What is going on here with AVIs? Am I doing something wrong? Are there settings I'm missing somewhere?
(And before anyone suggests I only use MOV in the future... that's not exactly the answer I'm looking for.)

    Thank you for that info.
For video, the codec is MPEG-4 Video (XVID) and for audio it says MPEG Audio Layer 1/2/3 (mpga).
There are two issues with that file:
The first is the Xvid CODEC (not meant for editing), and then the MPEG Audio/MPGA. I would convert that file, to something that is more editable.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • What's wrong with the audio from my Apple TV?

I will occasionally rent a movie on iTunes because they are a dollar less than the same movie  rental through DirecTV.  Saturday night I rented and watched “The Dark Night Rises” and was disappointed in the audio portion of this movie as it played on my home theatre system. My ATV2 is connected via HDMI to my Yamaha RX-V65 receiver. My router (which is in the den) is an Apple Extreme dual-band router.   Throughout the movie, the dialogue was never centered correctly, the rear channels had very little information, and the left rear speaker had some strange intermittent static noise.  This was very disappointing.  The following day I tested my amplifier and speaker setup with Yamaha’s in-built speaker test tones and all was well.  I then played a Blue ray movie and the audio was fine, including output from the left rear speaker.  BTW, while playing the movie  through the ATV2, all 6 lights on the Yamaha receiver were lit up indicating all 5.1 speakers were active, but the audio was a mess!!  Can anyone tell me what might be wrong?  Do these movies rented from the iTunes store and played over the ATV2require a special sound field program on the Yamaha? Any help would be appreciated

if you want the peaks to stay, right click on the audio meter and choose static peaks.

  • What's wrong with the audio meter?

Let me start off by saying that I know the problem I am going to report is a little bit complicated, if my limited grasp of English makes it even harder to understand, please let me know. I'll elaborate on it further.
At first, I was very happy with the CS6 because the audeo meter at the bottom right can show the volume of video EVEN WHEN i scrub through the clip in the viewer monitor. It is vital to me,because I am so used to editing based on the fluctuance of volume as I edited on FCP .However, I find the audio meter in premiere pro is kind of wonky. when I press left arrow or right arrow to move frame by frame, the the audio meter acts very strangely...I am not sure how to discribe it in words, but I'll give it a try here:
In FCP 7,the audio meter shows the volume in a very simple way: when I play the video frame by frame, the audio meter fluctuate correspondingly, to show the volume of that individual frame.
In PP, when I try to play frame by frame, the audio meter gives no reaction in the first couple of frames, then fluctuate . The most mind boggling thing is that when I stop playing the clip, instead of staying as the volume of the frame where I stop (as FCP does), the audio meter in PP slowly falls down to nothing. What gives?  Can I have an audio meter in PP acting just like the one in FCP?  Can anyone give me a hint of what's going on here? Thank you in advance!!

  • What's wrong with the audio in .avi exports?

I've been trying to export a 30-second flash animation to an .avi format, but it seems like regardless of the settings I choose, the audio comes out crackly.
It's not even consistent.  If I export it again with the exact same settings, it's crackly in a different place, though usually on the same two clips (one's a .wav and one's an mp3).  But sometimes everything's crackly.  I can't find anything wrong with the raw audio clips.
What am I missing here?  Thanks in advance for your responses.

  • When exporting separate audio and video streams, the audio drifts out of sync

So this is my first slightly larger project in Final Cut Pro X.
When I export my finished project (around 12 minutes long) straight to quicktime, it plays back perfectly.
When I export using compressor, the resulting audio and video streams are two different lengths. The audio comes out a full second longer. If you try to lay them down in a program like Adobe Encore, the audio starts out perfectly in sync. Two minutes in you notice the video is slightly out of sync with the audio. By the end of the video it's comically bad, over a second out of sync.
What's even more vexing is if I try to take the quicktime file that IS in sync upon playback, and try to convert it burn that to a dvd or blu-ray using toast, the problem re-emerges.
I triec searching around, but most of the suggestions that came up were vauge, like, "Upgrade to a real program like Final Cut." (This was in reply to people who were using free software programs.)
I did see one idea surface where 44 and 48 kHz sampling rates don't play well together. So I combed through my project and found all the 44.1 songs that were used, and swapped them out with upsampled versions. Nothing changed. It didn't sound like it would fix it, as people usually said it was a specific amount of frames off, not something drifting out of sync.
So the question is, does anyone have any suggestions on what could be causing this? Thanks! :-)

Project settings can be accessed and changed by selecting the project and pressing command-J. Then, in the inspector, click on the little gear in the lower-right hand corner to access the settings.
Why are you trying to output video/audio separately? If the content plays in-sync when exporting a quicktime movie (using current project settings), you could try separating the video/audio using MPEG Streamclip as a second step instead of using compressor. For audio, don't change the sample rate from the project settings, and use uncompressed audio (AIFF) as the output format.

  • Problem with xvid videos with two audio streams

    / Hi,
recently I purchased a Creative Zen X-FI2, it is working perfectly, but I only have one problem, I have some videos xvid with two audio streams (mpga), on VLC I can select either of the two audio streams but I haven't found if I can select the audio stream on the Zen player.
Does anyone knows how to select among different audio streams on a video?

The X-Fi2 doesn't have such an option.
If you still want to be able to watch the video with the second audio stream, I think the only possibility is to re-encode it using the second audiostream (or disable the first).
