Copy within content area

I am trying to copy a folder which contains sub-folders and files to the root level of a content area. I am doing so from within the navagator. I navigate to the folder I want to copy and click its copy link. I select the root level of the content area as the copy destination. I am then taken to a screen that has copy options. Since I am trying to move the entire folder and all of it's content, I select Copy Subfolders and Items and I kept the Folder and Item Access Privileges checked. After clicking ok, it churns for a few seconds as though everything is getting copied and then displays the following error:

Can you tell me more about your set up? How many subfolders? how many items? Are you able to reproduce the problem in another content area?

Internal File Names within Content Areas

I have a problem where I have loaded up a series of inter-linked HTML files created in an HTML editor (e.g. Dreamweaver). They all exist within a folder and all the links work. As soon as I amend a file and reload it, it gets a new name on the database (for example index_0.htm and then index_1.htm). Therefore because the name has changed the links no longer work. I have item versioning switched off in the content area and the folders where the items reside.
Is there any way around this problem?

This behavior has been fixed for Portal 3.0.8, which is going to be part of 9iAS release 1.0.2.1, due out later this month.
In the meantime, perhaps you could have dreamweaver update the links for your files as part of a dreamweaver "site" definition. If you update the name for one file say from ("myfile" to "myfile_1", all the other links would then be automatically updated by dreamweaver to reflect that). What version of Portal are you currently using? 3.0.6 or 3.0.7?

I think, its not possible in the current release (9ias release 1). I understand, 9ias Release II has these capabilities.

Unable to click on iView link from within content area

Hi,
I have a peculiar problem where I am unable to click on/open up iViews from within the content area in one particular folder of a role. If I expand the tray and click on an iView link, it opens up the said iView. I am able to click on/open up iViews from the content area in other folders in the role.
Has anyone else experienced the same issue? If yes, any pointers to resolve this would be very helpful.

Are you facing this problem only for a particular folder of a iview or else for the whole??
If yes, just check the below points
1. Make sure that you have the correct roles to read Portal content.
2. Check whether have you made any permission access for the folder you are trying to access.
3. Try to create a new folder and assign the same iview and check it up once.
Let us konw further, if you still face any problems.

Two Scrollbars for WDA iview within Content Area

Hi Team,
We are on EP 7.0 ehp1.
iView is having two scrollbars. Isolation method is URL and it is
greyed out by default, this is a Webdynpro ABAP iview.
I have tried changing the property "Height Type" to FULL_PAGE and also
AUTOMATIC.
Please help me.

Yes, this is a custom WDA.
iview is directly added to the role. i did not add this to a page.
iView height has been set to Full_page, no change.
Please suggest.

Sort by "create date" in regular items within Content Area

Is this possible? I only see three option to sort by (default,
title and size. I need to sort by create date.
Is it possible?

You can also try grouping by Create Date, and turning off the
Group By banner in the style.

Content Areas - Viewing Text Items error

Hi,
Our ability to view text items within content areas has just stopped.
We now get Error: (WWS-00000)
with no other dialogue or entries in the logs.
As far as I know nothing has changed.

Content Areas order

we would like to order the content areas different from the creation order (ID generated by the time the content area was
created) and different from alphabetic.
We have tried to copy the content areas to new content areas, ordered as we want, with the built in functionality copy root
folder but it didnt work because this is only good when copying from folders inside the same content area.
Q: How can we do this?

Reusing images within a content area

I have uploaded images into a content area with intent to reuse them within the same content area in different folders. However, I have been unsuccessful.
How do I reuse an already uploaded image? Ex: I want to display a logo in each folder without having to upload the same image for each folder.

It's not possible to reuse an image in the item image attribute in 3.0.x. This is supported in Portal Release 2, scheduled for release on Solaris by the end of April 2002.

If iCloud Backup is turned on in Settings->iCloud->Backup
The iPhone will backup automatically, when its plugged in, locked, and connected to Wifi.
So if you let it charge while connected to wifi recently for a few hours and did not use it, it probably backed up.
If you can still access the iPhone, you can check the date of the last iCloud backup in Settings->iCloud->Backup

I have two computers and one iphone, one computer and the iphone are synchonized but how can I copy the contents to the second computer?

I have two computers (1 PC and 1 iMac) and one iphone, the PC and the iphone are synchronized but I cannot copy or sync the contents to the iMac. How can I copy the contents? Can I connect the PC to the iMac so that I can use the PC as a hard-disk? Will that affect the system to work smoothly?

Make content area Folder Names within Portlets non-linkable fields

We would like to only allow the administrator to be allowed link to content areas so as to maintain a consistent look and feel and not allow the user to leave Portal.

Thanks for the info, however, turning off the header region also
eliminates the "customize" feature -- which is something I would
like my users to have. Also, I think you may be mistaken (or
maybe I wasn't clear) about the approval icon. It does NOT
appear when a folder is rendered through a portlet, regardless
of folder ownership. It only appears when a folder is rendered
as a page.
I am looking forward to the next release.
p.s. I see the new find feature has been added since my last

I am trying to build an aspx form dynamically but I have to user some HTML tags among controls. I am getting the error "Cannot get inner content of frm1 because the contents are not literal." in my

instruction. If I put it before adding the text and button controls to the form the error is gone. What am I doing wrong, if I want the controls to be inside a <fieldset> ... </fieldset> tag?

According to articles (e.g.

<fieldset>, you can use a Panel control having GroupingText
attribute. Therefore, instead of dealing with InnerHtml, try this:

Moving a folder, Linking between content areas

I have 2 problems:
1) So far we developed all our content in a single content area. We would now like to split the information into multiple content areas. The MOVE or COPY command on the folder only allows me to copy within a content area. I have hundreds of documents to move. Is there any way i can move a folder to a different content area?
2) What is the best way to link a folder from 1 content area to a folder in another content area? I found that the FOLDER LINK ITEM allows me to connect only within a content area.
(I would prefer not to use an URL since the content publishers may not be able to construct complicated paths or the paths may change leading to broken links.)

1) The only way to do this currently is to create an export of the content area, import it back into the portal and remove the duplicate content. We are planning a bulk action feature in a future release that would allow you do to selectively copy/move one or more folders into a new content area.
2) Currently folder links are scoped within a content area; the only option is to link to the folder through a URL folder type. If you use the generated URL that contains the folder ID, you shouldn't run into any problems if the target folder is moved. I have submitted an enhancement request to extend the folder link to 'remote' folders outside of the 'home' content area.
