Copying a Web page

Hi,
I have a quick question which is not related to Java. How do you copy the web page to be able to use it in a Powerpoint Presentation? I know it's print screen then something else, but I can't remember.
thank you

Doing PrintScrn saves whatever is on the screen to the clipboard (alternative, alt-PrintScrn saves the active window instead of the whole screen). You then need to do something with it. Usually paste into Paint or somewhere, and save as an image (jpg, please!).
Give that a go,

  • I can right click to copy a web page link, but it will not let me rick click again to paste the link to the body of text

I use firefox as my web browser. My start page is www.msn.com where I can access hotmail. Once I have logged into hotmail and click on (Create) new mail I have this problem. If I go to a web page link, ie; www.msn.com, I can highlite the address and then right click to copy. When I go to the body of the email I'm working with, and right click again to paste I DO NOT GET A SCREEN THAT HAS PASTE ON IT. I tried this again by logging into Internet Explorer signed into my hot mail account and tried it again. It works in IE with hotmail. So I feel this problem has been encountered with a firefox update, because I did not have the problem in the past.

    Hi,
You may have to make sure that '''Disable or replace context menus''' is enabled (tick) in '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Options''' > '''Content''' > '''Advanced''' (on the right end of '''Enable Javascript'''). • Copying from Web Page

My bank statement is accessible from the web. In Excel I can copy several rows and columns from that Web page and the paste them directly into my spreadsheet, where they are appropriately distributed across the various columns and rows.
When I try this in Numbers, they are distributed down a single column. How can I get them to distribute across several columns and rows?

    Hello
    - 1 - Look in the other thread, I posted a revised script.
    - 2 - It appears that you passed 16 values.
    So the original table was
    1 row of 16 columns
    or
    2 rows of 8 columns
    or
    4 rows of 4 columns
    or
    8 rows of 2 columns.
    or
    16 rows of 1 column
The script can't guess which it is really, so it's your duty to type the correct columns number.
Here is a short script allowing you to save the clipboard's content in a text file.
Run it then send me the file attached to a mail at:
koenig PERIOD yvan AT tele2 PERIOD fr
I would be able to see if there is something I missed in your datas.
A screenshot of the original table would be useful too.
    --[SCRIPT]
    tell me to activate
set x to the clipboard as Unicode text
set fp to (path to desktop as Unicode text) & "clipboard-content"
    writeData(fp, x, {_append:false})
    on writeData(fp, x, {append:append})
    text fp: output file path
data x: anything to be written to output file
boolean _append: true to append data, false to replace data
    local a
    try
open for access (file fp) with write permission
set a to fp as alias
if not _append then set eof a to 0
write x to a starting at eof
    close access a
    on error errs number errn
    try
    close access file fp
    on error --
    end try
error "writeData(): " & errs number errn
    end try
    end writeData
    --[/SCRIPT]
With this one, no need to save it as an app.
Open it in the script editor
copy the table to the clipboard
Click the green button named "Exec" or "Run" (the 3rd one)

  • Copy & paste web page info

i somewhat new to coldfusion and i can't figure out how to do something..
lets say there is a web page with these texts
    hi abc bye
    hi 123 bye
    hi a1b2 c3 bye
i want to create a page that will go to a specific web page and search throught that web page for the word hi and then grab the following text up to the word bye... then it'll place those text in a file... so for example it'll copy only the text
    abc
    123
    a1b2 c3
...and paste them in a file
    is this possible??
can someone please point me in the right direction, i been at this for almost two days!
    thanks in advance.

So you want to make an HTTP request for a web page, that would be the purpose of the <CFHTTP....> Tag.
    cfquery_select_name wrote:
     search throught that web page
Then you want to find text in the content returned from the request.  the find() and refind() functions (most likely the later) would be helpful here.
    cfquery_select_name wrote:

Finaly you would like to write output to a file.  The <cffile action="write"...> would be the first choice for this task.
That just leaves the actual searching.  Like I said I would probably try a REFIND that uses regular expression syntax to find the desired text.  Something like this untested example off the top of my head should get you started.
    <cfset match = refind(searchString,"hi(.*?)bye",1,true)>
    <cfdump var="#match#">
Then finally a loop over this code to find each instance of the desired string.

Quite possible, it should just take some trail and error and looking at the appropiate documentation.

  • How to display URL on PDF copied from web page;Does from Safari browser/Not Firefox

When I make a PDF document from a web page when in Safari, it automatically puts the URL in with the document but not when I'm using Firefox.

What is the format of that online document - is it an image, or is it perhaps already a PDF document?  If so, you can right-click on it and save it to your local disk.

  • IPad won't copy text from web page and paste in email

I'm trying to copy text from a web page, and when I paste it in Note or in a new email, it copied the web page link, not the text. Doing this in iPad.  What am I doing wrong? Thanks

I think it depends on what you are trying to copy.
To copy, put your finger on the text and hold until the copy thing shows up.  Adjust the size to whatnyou want, then touch copy.( I know, you already knew that).  To paste, touch the screen where you want it to go until the paste thing shows up.
    I just did it
glass, metal and minimalist design. Two.    ( pasted from a web page)
Some pages are set up so that you cannot copy words or images.
So try a different page to see if you are doing it right.
If you want, post the link to the page and we call all try it as well.

When I try to print from web page I get a dialogue box "Printer not activated - error code 30" followed by a dialogue box "An unknown error occurred while printing". The printer works on websites when I use Internet Explorer. Also, if I copy the web page and paste it into a Word document, I can print a copy. This issue just started this week; I have not encountered this problem prior to this week. Please advise.

What does that error message say?

  • How do I save a web page as a word document?

I can't seem to copy a web page into a word document so I can edit it.

Firefox will no longer allow me to copy a block of text to save it if the block goes farther down than the bottom of the screen. It used to scroll down as far as necessary while holing down the highlight button on the mouse but now stops and will not scroll with a block highlighted beyond the original screen.
I've been using IE for the past month because firefox stopped allowing this while it still works great in IE.
I just upgraded to firefox 5.0 hoping it would fix the problem but it did not. Guess I'll be back in the old and slow IE.

Obviously, as seen above, I'm doing something wrong or Live View does not do all the functions that Design View use to do.  I realize I can still access Design View in non-Fluid Grid Layout documents and that is my current work-around.  I copy from my Word file into Design View available in non-Fluid, then copy that code into my Fluid Grid Layout document, not real efficient use of my time.  And, even that work-around may not be available after the next upgrade.

Hans thank you for your reply and attention to this matter.  Moreover, with your steeped expertise I do not, in any fashion, intend to be flippant or capricious.
However, I do not believe the reply is on point since I'm not discussing the insertion of an HTML tag/element; but rather, the placing of complex formatted text into my various web pages.
Design View and  2014.1 Live View seem to serve different functions.  That is, Design View, for us, serves as a highly sophisticated HTML5 code generator that allows us to properly display complex formatted text that originally is created as a Word docx file.  As I noted in my original post, the complex formatted text from the Word file is then pasted into Design View and thus properly renders on the web page.  I invite you to try this yourself.  Simply copy my properly formatted text in my original post (that can be found at "Using Design View the web page rendered this way:") to a Word file, and it will retain the complex formatting, then copy that Word file text to both Design View and  2014.1 Live View files.  Please apprise me of your results.
Discussion has been had in at least two separate threads on the Design View disappearance in Fluid Grid.  In https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1597260 staff member Lalita wrote "It would be helpful for us if you list the issues you are seeing with fluid grid live view editing."  And in https://forums.adobe.com/message/6807088#6807088 staff member Subhadeep wrote "If you can list down the workflows you are trying while editing in Live View & the issues you are facing in doing so, it will help us understand what is amiss & suggest alternative workflows to do the same."  I believe I've pointed out issues when attempting to use Live View for functions or work flow that customarily had been done in Design View.
Being a CC subscriber, if someone can provide me with a workflow using other additional Adobe products to get my complex formatted text from Word ultimately to my Dreamweaver web page, be it an image insert or whatever, I would take the suggestions.
The difference in the coding of my example in my original post is as follows.
Code when using Design View is:
    <p><strong>Research &amp; Analytics Director</strong><br>

It is readily apparent that Design View is a much needed code generator in the Dreamweaver product.  Live View serves completely other, and needed, purposes.  Therefore, I still, after all the forum discussions, do not understand why Design View has been removed from Fluid Grid.
Again Hans thank you for your reply.  But unless I'm missing something, citation to the links you provided does not solve my problem.  And that problem is this: If Design View is on its way out and thus will be completely removed from Dreamweaver at some point, then how do I provide my information (i.e. complex executive job descriptions) on my website?
Apparently a vote is taking place https://forums.adobe.com/ideas/3922 on the issue of placing Design View back into Fluid Grid.  I do not understand why the need for two rather disjunctive functionalities are at the mercy of the democratic process.  These are matters of engineering principles not "town hall gatherings".

  • How do I copy all on a web page?

I want to copy info from a web page to parse in another web page. I can copy but have no option to copy all. And it is not copying the top banner info.

You didn't say you were using an iPod touch. This part of the forum is for the Mac version of Safari. I'm afraid I don't know if there's a way to do what you want in iOS, if dragging the copy handles to the top and bottom of the page don't work.
