Copying and upgrading an HFM App

Hello All,
I need to upgrade our current 11.1.1.2 HFM application to HFM 11.1.2.2. I am relatively new to HFM and want to plan out the steps necessary for this. My specific questions:
1. Copy the existing application - is there a copy app utility for release 11.1.1.2 or can I use the copy app that comes with 11.1.2.2?
2. Any challenges or issues I should be aware of with the Copy App process?
3. I assume (still researching) that there is an upgrade utility?
4. Any challenges or issues with the upgrade that I need to be aware of?

Hi there,
The usual steps are:
1. Run copy application utility to copy application the original app to the new environment
2. Run schema upgrade utility.
When you will configure your new environment, you will use the copy app to copy the HFM application from the old database to the new database. The copyapp wizard will copy data and audit data if you wish. Oracle usually suggests to download the latest version from mysupport and read the manual in order to understand all the different options. The schema upgrade utility is a simple tool that will convert your application to 11.1.2.2 and you should not do any changes.

Can no longer copy and paste from MS apps

Could be a nightmare a-brewin'.
As webmaster for a transit company, I'm responsible for
updating the schedules for our 50+ bus routes three times a year on
piercetransit.org. So I opened one up today in Dreamweaver 8 and
launched our brand new version of Excel Mac 2008 to copy and paste
schedule times into a web page. And it didn't work!
Up til now, Excel has been an irreplaceable tool for
converting data from our weird, 70's-era bus scheduling software
[Hastus] into something Dreamweaver can understand. But no matter
how much I fiddle with options under Copy and Paste preferences,
today I got nothing -- literally. It's as if there's nothing
whatsoever on the clipboard. Earlier, I'd noticed the same problem
with our new version of Word, but since I rarely paste anything
into Dreamweaver from Word, I was only mildly irked by it. Given
the thousands of bus arrival and departure times on our site,
however, the inability to insert data from Excel into DMW would be
a disaster!
Am I just missing something, or is this some kind of "How
dare you use anything other than one of OUR products?"

This has been an issue with Office 2008 for Mac even with the
CS3 version of Dreamweaver. I believe the only workaround is to do
a paste special as text only but you will lose formatting this way.
You can do a search on this forum also for other suggestions
because I didn't follow the old topics before because I didn't
upgrade till recently, but there might be some other tricks around
here.

DB version Oracle 8.1.7.4.0
OS version Solaris 9
1st QUESTION
if i want to do system copy to new box
with
R/3 version 4.6c
kernel 4.6D sp 1913
DB version Oracle 8.1.7.4.0
OS version Solaris 10 (changed from solaris 9 to 10)
do i need to do homogenous system copy or heterogenous ?
is there any issues between 4.6c and solaris 10 ?
2nd question
if 1st question above is not possible, I want to do homogenous system copy with
R/3 version 4.6c

OS version Solaris 9
after that i will upgrade Oracle to 10 and SAP to ECC 6, is it possible to use ECC6 and Solaris 9 ? or do I need to upgrade to Solaris 10 ?

start SAP
upgrade to ECC6 sr2 + patches (sr2 because we dont want unicode, sr3 installation must be unicode)

I can't copy and paste.

I recently updated my ipod generation 3 to ios 5.1 or something, and besides being kind of laggy, I can't copy and paste into different apps anymore. For example, I can copy and paste inside notes, but I can't, for example, copy a url from my notes and paste it into safari. Please Help! thanks!

Still no ability to copy and paste ?

I have heard that cipy and paste feature promised to be in 2.1 version. today it is 2.2. Still no copy and paste ?
I know that there is Magicpad - but it ***** since it has only copy and paste witing the app only and that feature should be in any OS.

I was hoping it would be in the 2.2 update. Big bummer that it wasn't. It's gotta hurt them that Blackberry just released the Storm which does have copy/paste and full texting options.
Admittedly, I'd rather they take their time and get it right rather than rush out a bad or buggy feature.

You can create an install disc but you would have to download Mountain Lion to do so..

I've just bought an new laptop and downloaded itunes. I plugged in my iphone and upgraded to the newest itunes/ synched etc. Now I have no music or apps on my phone. The contacts photos and texts all seem fine. Just the itues stuff that's missing.

I suggest copying your entire iTunes library to your new computer, also you might want to copy the photos you want to save. Then sync your device to the new iTunes and copy over your music, documents and photos that you want.
If you are no longer going to use the old computer you should open up iTunes on the old computer and use the menu to deauthorize it. Be sure to use the same iTunes menu on your new computer to Authorize the new one.

Cross app copy and paste stoped working with 5.1 any suggestions?

After over the air upgrade to 5.1 on Verizon cross app copy and paste stopped working. Copy in one app no past option in the other. I have tried power cycling to no avail. Any suggestions prior to restoring the phone with iTunes?

I just upgraded to Firefox 10 and all my pinned app tabs disappeared. Not sure how to get them back. This did not happened with any previous upgrades.

Was using Firefox 9 before upgrade.
Note that I was using Tab Utilities 1.1.2 which is now disabled because it is not compatible with Firefox 10 (but this utility does not really deal with app tabs anyway).

Upgraded 10.3 to 10.4 and now I see .app

I recently upgraded from 10.3 to 10.4. When I right-click the application folder I added to my dock, now all of the application files show .app after them. I do not recall seeing them before.
10.3 was on a drive that felt like it was going to fail (the original drive). I added a new drive next to it (slave) and upgraded to that drive, copying all files and applications over with it.
I hope this is the right discussion to post this in. What can I do to make it not show .app after the applications in my Applications right-click menu?

You can turn off the extensions by going to Finder>Preferences>Advanced and unchecking the box "Show all file extensions".

From your post it appears that you are getting a pop-up message that you need to upgrade your internet browser. Likely this is an advertisement, as any updates to Safari are done through the software update in the App Store. I'd like you to please check your preferences to ensure pop-ups are being blocked, and to also clear out the Safari data on your Mac.

Copy Files to new iMac and fresh install of Apps?

I am upgrading to a new 27" iMac from a Mid (2007) 24" Core 2 Duo
My understanding is that setup assistant or migration assistant, will copy over my user data, applications, etc.... My issue is, I don't want a lot of that copied over to the new machine. For instance, If I understand correctly, if I copy the Apps, it is an all or nothing scenario, correct?
Would I be better off just setting up the new iMac "as-is" out of the box, and just reinstall the apps that I want?
Also, for my user directory, couldn't I just copy those files off to an external hard drive from the old machine, and copy them back into the new one?

With a new Mac running Mountain Lion, I would install the latest (newest) versions of all apps from scratch. I would not migrate apps from an older system. You said your existing Mac is a 2007 iMac - what version of OS X are you using?
You can easily transfer all your data files (things that are in your old user folder and elsewhere on your old Mac by starting it in Target Disk Mode and connecting it via FW to your new Mac. Then just user the FInder to copy whatever files/folders you want to transfer to your new iMac. There is no need to do a "double copy" by copying them to an external drive first, and then copying them a second time from the external drive to your new iMac.
Note: you will probably need the Apple Thunderbolt-Firewire Adapter to do this.
