Copying Audio

Hi I'm back
CS4 4.2.1
I want to copy a short piece of audio from one part of an HDV clip to another, replacing the existing audio. Edit in Adobe Soundbooth, Edit in Adobe Audition, Extract Audio are all grayed out, so I assume I havn't got those. Is there any otfer way to do it?

If I choose Edit Original nothing happens.
I can't edit in Audition or Soundbooth in the timeline, they're grayed out.
Also I'm having problems with single frame - I export it and import it and put it it the timeline but when I stretch it it just becomes a movie clip, not an extended still

  • Download Helper, even with paid converter upgrade, gives "Invalid Capture File" errors and will not record audio, with "File Creation Error - Unable to rename/copy audio file" Error.

Download Helper Screen Capture worked to capture video if the default "no audio" option is active. But, no audio. The "speakers" or "microphone" audio options are confusing....the audio to be captured is from the video, so what do you choose? With either "speakers" or "microphone" selected, the captured file has poor audio and no video. Re-capture efforts (speakers) get "Invalid capture file error" and "File Creation error- Unable to rename/copy audio file"
The paid upgrade of "Converter" doesn't work.
Instructive documentation - not very good.
Suggestions - Need time delay between initiation of "Record" and starting the video to be recorded.
Could use timer tracking of the record process.
Are there operating system limitations? (Have Windows XP Pro)

That is an issue for the developer of that Download Helper.

  • Error encountered while copying audio stream

In Captivate 4, I attempt to capture screens. I hear the clicking as it captures, I click END when finished. Program attempts to save and then a dialog box displays with "error encountered while copying audio stream". I am not attempting to record any audio.
I searched the web and found references to this error back two versions and two years - but no solution.
Does anyone know of a solution? Thanks.

    Hi there,
I have experienced this on Windows XP. In my case this was due to a dll (Dynamic Link Library) file not being corectly registered in the Windows XP Registry. If you are using XP then take a look at the following blog post.

If this doesn't solve the problem or you are using Windows Vista then please report this issue to the Adobe Captivate team using the web address I have included below.

  • Error Encountered while copying Audio Stream on CAPTIVATE 3

Using Captivate 3 on Windows 2000
I don't have access to Captivate 4 or a newer version of
windows while in the office.. I do have admin rights to my machine.
I'm getting error.. Error encountered while copying audio
Stream when creating a new project.. I get through my recording..
and when i "end" the recording it thinks and thinks and then gives
    me this error.
Please advise on what I can do to fix.

    I just attempted this fix..
Close Captivate 4 if it is open.
    Download the file kept at
    https://share.acrobat.com/adc/document.do?docid=a14e1bd9-dc10-4456-9cd2-44489809b78e
Go to your Captivate 4 install folder (ex: C:\Program
    Files\Adobe\Adobe Cativate 4)
Rename nsaudio.dll as nsaudio.dll.bak or anything which
    doesn't have a dll extension
Copy the file from step 2 to Captivate 4 install folder
    rename it as nsaudio.dll
    Start Captivate 4
On Cap 3 to try.. and it didn't work either! Don't know if
the NSAudio.dll is different for Cap 4 however!

  • How do i copy AUDIO & video from slideshow to disk?

How do I copy AUDIO and video from a slideshow to a dvd disk?  The slides copy but the soundtrack does not.  Thanks!

podcasts have a setting that only iTunes can access to put files into podcast folder. The only reliable way to get podcasts into podcast folder it by downloading with iTunes.

  • Copy Audio Settings

In Final Cut Pro 7 it was easy to copy audio settings, in FCPX I found no possibility to do this...
I have to adjust 500 clips with -4 db ... and idea how to do this without adjusting every single clip?

    Fantastically simple in X!
Select all the clips in Event browser (you can enable Show waveforms in the Clip appearance, it
will illustrate the level change on the clips) open the inspector and select audio.
Adjust the Volume slider -4dB and all clips will be adjusted.
If they're in the timeline already, select all the clips and CTRL & -
Four times will give the -4dB drop you need

  • FCP6 - Can't copy audio transitions anymore?

When I upgraded to FCS2 all of a sudden I can no longer copy audio transitions from on edit to another using the option-click and drag method. This is very frustrating because I need to do this all the time.
Am I missing some kind of setting or something new in FCP6?

    Yup, there are handles.
I have a hot key setup that adds a 5frm crossfade to audio edits. So I'll click to highlight a audio edit, hit the hot key, and a trans is added to the edit. Usually there's not an issue because the A1 and A2 clips are a sterio pair and a crossfade is added to both clips, however, when the stereo pair is toggled off for the pair of clips clicking the edit only highlights one of the clips (usually A1). I then hit the key to add the trans and that's where I cannot option-click and copy the A1 trans to the A2 clips (which contains the exact same media as the A1 clip).

  • Best Way to copy audio books

    Hi
What is the best way to copy Audio Books. I just bought all the Harry potter on CD's. I have a 30g 5th gen IPOD had it for 2 month. Upgraded ipod to 1.2 and iTunes 7.0.1.
    Everything is running fine.

    Hello again,
I went and checked PDF document properties. The document was created by an application called (3B2 Total Publishing). It's the application that the printing press used to creat the PDF file. Unfortunately I don't have the source document and the printing press claim they don't have any source files but used in-house applicatin to create the PDF book.
I checked fonts used in the PDF file and I found 17 fonts named T1 to T17 and all (Type 3) fonts. I'm seasoned IT engineer but no experience in publishing. So, no idea whether or not this information is usefull to find a way to publish these books in epub.

  • "Copying audio files"

So why is that sometimes, when I'm working with software synths, logic will decide that in order to save, it must copy audio files from the samples?

I just posted this answer in another thread:
There is a little box at the bottom of the Save menue called "include assets", tick that and a dropdown menue opens giving you various possibilities which assets to save with your project.

  • Copied audio region doesnt play!

    Hi
Heres my problem that I just cant figure out why logic behaves like that...
    http://argohoo.com/Kuvat/logic_comp.jpg
So, I´ve recorded normally and different takes shows up on takes list... after several takes I copy a part of audio from another location on top of those takes and thats what happens... the copied audio doesnt play, its the latest recorded audio-take that plays....

"Mute either one of them and the unmuted one will play. One Audio object ( an Audio track) can only play back 1 Audio file at once."
Yeah, of course but shouldnt Logic automatically mute all other audio files other than the latest, just like it does when you overbud, it doesnt leave previous audiofiles "active", it mutes all other besides the latest take! Why it doesnt mute older takes/files/regions when I copy audio... I guess thats not how it supposed to work!
Oh well, it may be a temp bug ´cause when I tried same thing (on same session though) on other location... [recorded several takes and then copied audio on that same location] it worked like it was supposed to, copied areas were muted on all the other regions/takes underneath it!
Or course I can adjust and mute and demute takes later but the point is that it should automatically always play the region thats on top of everything else if not adjusted/muted etc on takes!

  • Don't want to Copy audio and movies into document:  Selecting

    Hello
Here is my first question about Keynote.
In the User Guide, we may read:
Copy audio and movies into document:  Selecting this checkbox saves audio and
video files with the document, so the files play if the document is opened on another
    computer.
*_You might want to deselect this checkbox so that the file size is smaller, but_*
*_media files won’t play on another computer unless you transfer them as well._*
The named checkbox is unchecked in the Advanced options as well as in the Preferences pane but, when I drag a sound file, in fact a mp3 one encapsulated in a .mov file, I retrieve it it the document itself.
I'm running the app on a French system if it may make sense.
    Am'I doing something wrongly ?
Yvan KOENIG (VALLAURIS, France) mardi 18 janvier 2011 14:17:30

I have no huge knowledge about Keynote.
So, I would use brute force.
Assuming that your document is built with the flatfile format introduced by iWork '09
    (1) rename the document wxyz.key as wxyz.key.zip
    (2) double click the renamed document
it will expand as a wxyz.key document using the old package structure
    (3) ctrl + click the icon of the new wxyz.key document to reach the contextual menu offering the item allowing you to "Display Package Contents"
    (4) in this contents you will see the "kind of aliases" which I wrote about.
They are named something like : azertyui.mov
    (5) open them with an hexadecimal editor like the free Hexedit.
You may also drag & drop them on the TextEdit icon.
In this late case you will get something like :
    I highlighted the meaningful info.
Here it must be read as:
    Macintosh HD/Important/Téléchargements/jef gilson - oeil vision/jej gilson - oeil vision - 7 -chant inca.mp3
This is the path to the true file.
With this info, you may reach the true file.
As far as I know, the embedded .mov file is a frozen 'kind of alias' so you are not allowed to move it.
As long as it remains where it is, you may move the keynote document everywhere on your HD. You may also move it on an external HD.
As long as the device is connected to your machine with the media file untouched thr doc will behave flawlessly.
If you move it to an other machine, it will be orphan.
So, to use it on an other machine, you must embed the media file in the document.
    Open this document with Keynote.
Check the checkbox urging Keynote save media in the document
Delete the icon of the media item existing in the document
Drag & drop the true media file as a replacement of the deleted one
    then save the document.
Oops I was forgetting to respond about 'dropped files'.
To my knowledge, they are some insert picture files.

  • Copy audio from iphone til mac

It is easy to copy audio memoes from the iPhone to the iMac - just connect to the iMac and open iTunes. BUT if it is another Mac like my MacBook, and the iPhone is not related to this Mac, then what? I want to record statements and interviews and sounds on my travel, but I want to copy it to my MacBook. How?

Re-read my last post very carefully.
Post back means answer my questions. If you want to change computers, you need to copy your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer:

  • I need to copy audio files and projects from logic to an external hard as my MBPis nearly full and my external hard drive has packed up with all my files on it, any suggestions on how do I copy 200GB from my MBP to a new external HD

I Use logic and back my audio file and projects on an external HD ,this has now packed up . I have all the files in the MBP , but need to copy them to a new external HD, I have only 10GB left on my machine , how do I copy 200GB from my machine to a new External HD.
any helpful full advice would be appreciated.
    angus

Yes, just drag and drop them into the drive..
How long will it take? Hard to say without knowing the type and speed of the drives in question.. and even then it's hard to estimate... but does time really matter?
The fact you only have 10 Gigs left will/may slow the process down but it wont/shouldn't stop it...
If needed.. just drag and drop some of the files at a time.. not all of them.
Remember that copying files doesn't delete them from the original drive... You will still need to delete them yourself after they are copied over and empty the trash....
    However....
When you saved these projects in Logic (Pro X?) did you save them using the include audio files option?
If not, then when you move the audio files used in these projects... Logic will not know where they are to reload them........ and that will cause you issues.
    So.. if you didn't...
I would use this method instead...
Logic Pro X: Move, copy, and convert audio files

  • Can one copy Audio from one clip minus its video...to paste to another?

I'm working on a painting video...as an artist/teacher...and easily created a 3 minute trailer on YouTube using iMovie...
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LXWxjjGkAg
I have Final Cut Express 3.5.1 on my intel...and thought I'd best use this higher standard software for the making of my 90 minute DVD...but dang, its coming hard for me. Trying to make sense of the help manual. With iMovie it was nothing to copy an audio track, copy and paste elsewhere...but with FCE I can't seem to separate the audio of the track from one clip to copy and paste elsewhere without that video clip wanting to come along.
The original clip is me painting by a waterfalls..the original narrative voicing was weak, so I did a voice over with a mic and toneport tonight, now I want to paste in the sound of the falls behind copied from a clip where I did no speaking.
I have Soundtrack as well. Am I better off just putting my video clips together in FCE...then importing the whole thing to Soundtrack to edio audio? Seems audio with FCE is tough...well, for me anyway. Thanks

    Hi -
In FCE, select the clip on the timeline that has the audio and video stuck together. Go to the menu Edit and toggle Linked Selection (the check mark will go away).
Now you should be able to copy and paste one without the other.
    Hope this helps.

  • Copying Audio CDs in not-iTunes format--how?

My MacPro has two optical drives, and I was trying to copy an audio CD from one drive to the other. (Of note, my Preferences do not specify iTunes as the program with which to open audio CDs.) As soon as I insert an Audio CD, all files on the CD seem to show up as iTunes files. When I drag them over to a blank CD and burn it (using the burn button on the blank CD's folder), they're burned as iTunes files. That's fine for computer-to-computer sharing, but if I want to listen on a car CD player, it wont recognize the files. So, how do I copy the songs in the original format without transforming them in any way? Thanks.

    Hi Joseph,
You can create a playlist in iTunes as previously mentioned and then click the burn button at the bottom right hand side. It doesn't actually matter what format they are in, [from what I can tell/have experienced], as it will burn playlists in the .AIFF format anyway which is playable in the car or home audio system.
I have a mixture of AAC, MPEG & Apple lossless formats and even when mixed in a playlist they burn fine - and the same. Toast is an excellent program and does a great job of burning all-sorts so is recommended :0)
I only posted in case you were going to change the format of all your imported files to .AIFF before burning as it is time and space consuming!
    Hope that helps?
    Regards
    B

  • Copying audio files to SD memory card

I have a 1GB Secure Digital card connected with a card reader. I converted an audio book CD to mp3 files using iPhoto. When I try to copy the mp3 files to the empty SD card, after 75 files and 342 MB, this message appears: "The item cannot be copied because there is not enough free space."
I can fill this card to capacity with JPEG files.

I also have this same problem on multiple SD cards and readers, although there is no such problem when I transfer the files on to the same cards with a Windows PC! I've also noticed that my Powerbook G4 puts an additional file for each audio track that uses no data, but just lists the file name again. It would be GREAT if someone could figure this out!!! Thanks!
