Copying book, tries to pull from ADF
When copying, straight to paper not a scan, pages from a book the 1st copy works fine. On the second page the printer tries to pull original from the ADF which of course is pushed up because I am copying from a book. I can't find any setting to correct this. I'm using copy > 1:1 with 1 copy.

I see that you are having some issues when attempting to copy pages from a book.
What I think may be happening is that if the book is thick enough, it will trigger the ADF sensor and cause the ADF to activate.
You can get around this by going into the HP Printer Assistant and open the HP Scan software and then in the last drop down arrow on the right, select Flat Bed Glass and then press Scan.
This will save to you computer and then you can print it.
I do realize it is a long way around but it will resolve the issue.

SCEP definition updates trying to pull from the Internet - poor behaviour
Most of our clients do NOT have the ability to just head out to the internet to get things (via proxy or otherwise) and as such, I have configured my Malware policy to use "Updates distributed from Configuration Manager" ONLY
I do NOT want it trying to get updates from ANYWHERE ELSE.
Some aren't behaving. :(
I am seeing log entries that indicate that the client is trying to go out to the Internet to get the updates.

Anyone have any suggestions? I don't want the machines to EVER try to go out to the internet when they are trying to update their SCEP defs.Stop SCEP from downloading over the internet, uncheck the following locations:
1. SCFEP Def Deployment (ADR if you have one) -
Download Setting: If software updates are not available on preferred distribution point or remote distribution point, download content from Microsoft Updates
2. Client Setting (Endpoint Protection) [check your priority if you have more than 1]
Disable Alternet Sources (such as Microsoft Windows Update, ....) for the inital definition update on client computers.
3. Asset and Compliance :Endpoint Protection, Antimalware Policies (check all that you have and priority)
Defintion Updates: If Configuration Manager is used as a source for definition update, clients will only update from alternate sources if definition is older than (hours) Set this to 720. This is the max, after this the machine will be forced
to pull from Microsoft to protect the machine.

Officejet Pro 8500 Premier: How do I force the Copy function to use paper from Tray 2?
I set the default tray to Tray 2 and locked Tray 1 to protect my envelopes and this works fine when printing from the computer. But when I copy a document using the START COPY button, the printer pulls from Tray 1 and complains about the media being the wrong size.
When I use the printers control panel to set the Copy function to use Tray 2, it resets itself to Tray 1 the next time I copy something.
Surely I am not the only one in the Universe who would want to configure my printer to do this.
Has anyone else out there tried this?
Also, is there a specific forum for the Officejet Pro 8500 series printers?Hi

I had the same problem but found that if you go to the copy menu through the touchscreen, change the tray to tray 2 and then scroll to the very bottom there is an option to "Set as new default". This also changes the default for the Start Copy buttons - at least it did for me anyway.

My Adobe has stopped allowing me to move library books from my PC to my KOBO (both show authorized on the ADE. the message reads : CE_COPY_NOT_ALLOWED - No permission to copy book. It used to work. Any easy fixed for me?(I already tried uninstall and re-install)

I tried to authorize my Computer and eBookreader with a new Adobe-ID, but it says I've done used this ID too often, even though it was brandnew! Can't copy my just-purchased eBook because "Copying is not allowed".
I hold my thumbs for you that Adobe solves this Problem fast enough. Other ways I'll sell my eBookreader and buy the Kindle-Reader from Amazon and say GOOD BYE to Adobe! -

Trying to pull in Cost of Goods Sold Account from Master Items.
Running Oracle EBS 11.5.10.2 on 10.2.0.4 database. I have written item master code and I am now trying to pull in the Cost of Goods Sold Account from the Costing Tab in the Master Items Screen. I was able to join MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS to GL_CODE_COMBINATIONS. Some of the accounting segments are correct but others are not, which leads me to believe I may not be joining to the correct tables. Any suggestions or hints are appreciated.

You need to replace the join MSI.SALES_ACCOUNT(+) = GCC.CODE_COMBINATION_ID with msi.cost_of_sales_account(+) = GCC.CODE_COMBINATION_ID to get the COGS account. Currently you are getting sales account not COGS.

Thanks Shootist007, by blockd files I mean files that I have changed to blocked and when I tried to move then for the first time, I had to unblock again. I am trying to backup my pictures, my songs and other files like word documents and excel tables. First I put all of them as blocked, what caused the first problems on trying to move them. Then, I've unchecked the block option and if I try to move one by one, there is no problem. The issue is to move all together, because it gets stuck in the preparing to copy files step. Anyway, if I cannot do all by once, I'll do it one by one, event though that was not suposed to happen if we are talking about technology, right? Anyway, I thank you again for trying to help me!

How to copy and paste the graphics from illustrator to MS word. What I tried is exporting in png with highest resolution and then inserting in to word. This loses a bit of resolution in comparison to direct copy and paste as EMF. But if I do a copy and paste, and then take a print of the document, all the graphs and text is printed upside down, flipped back.

How can I copy a paragraph of text from a Kindle book on the iPad?I'm very late to the conversation but thought I'd chime in since I've just been dealing with this myself. One way to copy from Kindle books is to make sure that you have your settings to backup highlights etc. online, then highlight the text in the Kindle app, go to your Kindle webpage (https://kindle.amazon.com/your_highlights) and copy the text from there.
Remember, to be able to do this you have to set the app to backup highlights etc. I think this is set individually for each book. On my iPad the default is to backup. -
I am trying to back up my books on my mac from my ipad so I can transfer them to my new ipad2. When I click on the ipad device in the sidebar the only option I get is "eject"? Help!
You need to back them up in iTunes.

Lightroom stalls on trying to export from the book module
Lightroom stalls on trying to export from the book module to either PDF or Blurb. Progress bar at the top left just shows "Exporting book...rendering cover.untitled DNG". I have even tried a single page low resolution book but no difference. This happened in Lightroom 4 and still after upgrading to Lightroom 5. I have tried I have tried also unchecking all the background options.
When you click on <Send Book to Blurb> a dialog should come up that asks for your ID and password for your Blurb account. I don't know if Blurb ships to Norway - you probably can find out at the Blurb website. But I don't think that this is the problem here since you also cannot export a PDF or JPGs.
I don't know of any specifics why this is not possible for you but it's worth trying to replace the Preference File.
This file can go "funny" and is then responsible for all kinds of strange behavior of Lr. The remedy is replacing the Preference File.
BTW: Re-installing Lr or updating / upgrading Lr does not replace the Preference File since it is designed to "survive" upgrades.

My guess the problem you are running into is the drive is formatted for a PC as NTFS. OS X can read files from NTFS however it cannot write to it. Check the formatting on the drive, if it's NTFS then it should be reformatted to Mac OS Extended (Journaled), you can use Disk Utility to do this.
