Copying Client 001 instead of 000

Hi Experts,
Just a query, we've installed srm 7.0 ehp1 and after finishing the post processing i've noticed that we've copied client 001 to the new client (sandbox client - 251) instead of 000. is there any drawback or consequence of doing that? the thing is we have already configured SRM-ECC integration (SRM 251 and ECC 251).
Is there any harm? because reviewing the client 001 - it is copy of master client 000.. but based on the document -
5.16Performing the Client Copy
SAPinst creates three ABAP clients during the installation, client 000, client 001, and client 066.
Client 000 is the SAP reference client for ABAP.
Use client 000 as source client for the client copy.
please help me analyze and explain if there will be a drawback about copying client 001 instead of client 000. should i delete the existing client251 and create a new client251 copied from client 000 and repeat the SRM - ECC integration?
Thank you.
Regards,
Tony

Does your user have the required authorizations? Is it part of the SAP_J2EE_ADMIN group? Is the user assigned to a role that contains UME.Manage_All?

As far as the SLD goes, I am no expert. I suggest you take a look at the SLD documentaion:

  • BRAIN009 in RSA1 in client 001

    Hello.
    Yesterday I installed NW04s and copied client 001 to client 100 using profile SAP_CUST. After logging in to client 100, RSA1 aborts with error BRAIN009 "You can only work in clinet 001". I already implemented SAP Note #758956, but this did solve the issue.
    What do I have to do to run RSA1 in client 100?
    MIKE

    I switched the contents of field BWMANDT in table RSADMIN from '001' to '100'. Now RSA1 works in client 100.

  • Which client should be use 000 or 001 for Client Copy

    Hi,
    Which client we can use 000 or 001 for fresh Client Copy.
    Also what is the diff. b/w 000 and 001 client and its uses...
    Please suggest.

    Hi
    Always use client 000, except for solution manager systems.
    Best regards
    550894 - CC-ADMIN: Setting up a new client
    Always use client 000 as a template, and never client 001. (A known exception is the SAP Solution Manager.)
    Do not copy any application data from client 000 because the consistency of data and the number ranges cannot be guaranteed.
    Only client 000 is populated with upgrades, Legal Change Packages, Support Packages, language imports and so on with new Customizing so that it always contains the current sample Customizing. This is why it is also so important that the copy is only carried out after the system is updated. Client 001, on the other hand, is obsolete. It serves only as a sample client and may be deleted at any time.

    If it is possibulity please let me know?

    Yes you can do.
    Tcode SCCL.
    Options :
    When copying clients, you can select what you want to transfer from the source client to the target client:
    User masters: You select this option, for example, if you want to give all users of an existing client the same authorizations in the target client.
    Client-specific Customizing: You select this option, for example, if you want to set up a new client in an existing system.
    Client-specific Customizing and master/transaction data:
    You select this option, for example, if you want to set up a test client that is identical to the production client (in the same system).
    Client-specific and cross-client Customizing: You select this option, for example, if you want to set up a quality assurance system based on the production client of another system.
    Client-specific and cross-client Customizing and master/transaction data: You select this option, for example, if you want to set up a test client based on the production client of another system.

    Hi,
    Set parameter login/no_automatic_user_sapstar = 0
    Restart the SAP instance.
    Then login client 001 with user sap* and password as pass.
    Once you login to system, do client copy from 000 to 001 using profile SAP_USER.

  • PI-7.0(xi-7.0) as production server - wrongly abap client(001)

    Hi all,
    We are using PI-7.0(xi-7.0) as production server, we ran the post installtion successfuly  last  6month before and now server status is live production system.
    Our issue is we ran wrongly abap client(001)as default client in the  post-installation step. Now only we identified this. So we need to change from client(001) to production client(576).
    Please guide us to how to change the client..what are the solution to change .
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    >Any updates ?
    Do you realise that I'm not paid by my employer to do your work ?
    Is it so dificult to search for SAP OSS note with "client"  as keyword in BC-XI area ?
    I took me 2 minutes  to find notes 1115280 and 940309
    It is possible to use an other client instead of the default 001 client but there is no advantage and you have to reconfigure a lot of thing which can lead to a lot of trouble.
    PS :
    [Mode rant on]
    Why are so many people on these forums asking to be spoon fed ?
    They need to learn how to search information. It's so easy with the internet age and search engines !

  • JAAS client access instead of JNDI

    Hi,
    I'm exploring using the JAAS client access instead of JNDI access on WL7.
    The Docs say I have to write a LoginModule. However, the following
    appears to work too (and of course, I'm not using a LoginModule):
         Environment env = new Environment();
              env.setProviderUrl(url);
              env.setSecurityPrincipal(username);
              env.setSecurityCredentials(password);
              Subject sub = new Subject();
              Authenticate.authenticate(env,sub);
              System.err.println("SUBJECT IS " + sub.toString());
              SampleAction sampleAction = new SampleAction(url);
              Security.runAs(sub, sampleAction);
    The LoginModule approach just appears to be a convoluted way of doing
    the same thing, so why do I need it?
    Also, the WebLogic examples do all sorts of strange things in their
    example LoginModule, like their commit does this:
    final PasswordCredential passwordCred = new
    PasswordCredential(username, password);
    AccessController.doPrivileged(new PrivilegedAction() {
    public java.lang.Object run() {
    subject.getPrivateCredentials().add(passwordCred);
    return null;
    (see http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs70/security/fat_client.html#1029441)
    Surely this is not necessary - cos the actuall login call to
    Authenticate.authenticate would have populated the subject properly.
    Any ideas? TIA.
