Copying Clips to New Tracks in Premier Elements 2

I am using Premier Elements 2 and I'm trying to copy clips from Video 1 track to another video track. When I paste the clip it always seems to appear on Video track 1.
How can I copy a clip from video 1 track to any other track i.e 2, 3 or 4.
Many Thnaks.
Stewie

Any time you use paste, the clip will go to Video 1 at the position of the CTI.
To place a clip on another video track, just drag it there.

  • Copying Clip in another Track

    Good morning,
I am using FCE 3.0 and am having trouble copying clips into another track. I have tried the Copy/Paste method as well as dragging the selected clip with the <Option>key.
The Copy/Paste method does not paste the clip at the playhead on a different track, and the <Option> key method simply moves the clip from one track to another.
I'm sure I'm missing some simple element here and would like to know what it is.
    Thanks.

    Hi(Bonjour)!
For the copy/paste way: pay attention to select the correct video and audio tracks targets.
Sometimes, it's easier to place your playhead right after the last clip of the sequence and paste. Reposition the resulting copy.
For the option drag: pay attention to use option key BEFORE clicking on your original clip, and drag.
Check if your tracks are locked.

  • I downloaded the new upgrade for Premier Elements 13 the other day, and now my program will hardly operate and will not do basic functions.  What can I do?

I downloaded the new upgrade for Premier Elements 13 the other day, and every since then my program will hardly operate and cannot do most functions.  What can I do?

    Bill
I went to the Premiere Elements 13 tryout page at the Adobe web site and downloaded the tryout. I used the Firefox browser (latest version).
These are the details according to what was presented to me today
    1. In choice of download, I selected Multiple LanguagesIWindows 64 bitI 1.67 GB. I do not have a Windows 7 or 8 32 bit computer.
In your case, you would expect that you used used Multiple LanguagesIWindows 1.50 GB (which would have been the 32 bit version
in agreement with your Windows 7 or 8 32 bit computer.
    2. When I pressed the Download button, there appeared
    Akamai Download Manager
Browse For Folder dialog - (where I designated Desktop as my save location for the saved file/folders from the download)
    3. The first file to download was the .7z which is named Premiereelements 13_LS26_win64.7z (in my case, in yours it should be ...._win32.7x)
    File 1 of 2.
The second file to download was the .exe which is named PremiereElements 13_LS26_win64.exe (in my case, in yours it should be..._win32.exe)
    4. When "3" is finished, automatically the Install Now comes up with a dialog regarding the .exe with an Open button. Click on the Open button.
    5. Next there is a Folder Location dialog which I had set
    C:\Uses\Owner\Desktop\Adobe Premiere Elements 13
I clicked next in this Folder Location dialog.
    6. Next there was an Adobe Premiee Elements 13 dialog "Preparing Files" with mention of "Extracting Files".
When the extraction process was complete, there was the automatic appearance of the Files Are Ready with a check mark next to
"Launch Adobe Premiere Elements 13. There I clicked the Finished button.
    7. Next up was the Adobe Installer dialog and the "Initializing Installer" message.
    8. Next came the Welcome dialog with choices of Install or Try. I selected Try.
If you have a purchased serial number already, I assume that you can click install and use your purchased serial number.
    9. Next came the sign In Required dialog where I click the Sign In button.
    10. Next the Adobe Software License Agreement to which I clicked Accept.
    11. Next the Options dialog -
Adobe Premiere Elements 13 4.1 GB
    Language English (North America)
    Location C:\Program Files\Adobe
to all of 11 I clicked Install.
and said Yes to User Account Control pop up.
    12. Automatic Install from there on.
When I looked at my desktop I found saved there
    a. the .exe file
    b. the .7x file
    c. an Adobe Premiere Elements 13 Folder
any of which I believe I could have installed from as I have described to you previously.
If you cannot get the above to work, then you can try going through the process of getting the Adobe Premiere Elements 13 tryout
    from
Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 Direct Download Links, Premiere too | ProDesignTools
There you will end up with the .exe and .7z downloads. After you download and save these two to your desktop, then you begin the
process by double clicking the exe and following the on screen instructions.
Please review the above and determine how much of it you have been through before and the choices that you have made along the way.

  • Error when starting a new project in Premier Elements 11

When I open Premier Elements 11 and select Video Editor - New Project, I keep getting an error that says, [..\..Src\Core\Preferences\cpp-338].  When I click on the Continue button, I get a Runtime Error and the application closes.  It doesn't stop running, though.  I have to stop it in the Task Manager Processes screen.
I have Windows XP SP3, and I have installed all the latest Windows updates, I have updated my Java version, I have defragmented my hard drive, I have run a disk clean up application, and I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times over with the DVD, and I have Quicktime installed with its latest updates.
I worked with an Adobe support tech yesterday who worked with my system a little, but he left me hanging and didn't call me back today.
I paid money for this application and desperately need it for my job.  I hope someone can help me.
    Thanks,
    A very frustrated customer.

For Networked home folders (aka Personal folder), here's a work around script that you are free to use.  (Based on AJohnF's suggestion.)
The Script verifies if the current domain user has an 'J' drive if not, it starts APE, if there is a home folder assigned to the domain user...
It temporarily changes the User Shell Personal folder registry.
Starts Adobe Premiere Elements and waits for it to close.
Once APE is closed it will change the registry back.
You can remove the ' in front of the msgbox lines to get prompts along the way for testing.
Create a new desktop shortcut that will point to the "Start Premiere 11.vbs" (or whatever you called it)
We deployed it via SCCM and replaced the existing desktop shortcut for APE with new shortcut. Deployment of script and desktop shortcut could be done via computer startup, preferences, SCCM it up to you.
Change the "J:\" and "J:\My Videos" to match your environment.

  • When Recording a new track, previous track is copied to the new track as well

I have an Audigy 4 Pro. I am experiencing a problem when I try to record a multi-track project. I have a microphone plugged into the "Line-In 1/Mic In" input. I can record the first track fine, but when I record the second track, the audio from track one is copied onto track two along with the new audio. This occurs in both Cubase LE and Magix Music Studio 11. I am following the software instructions very closely, so I don't think the problem is there. It seems to me that the Audigy is probably mixing the playback signal with the input signal before sending it to the recording software, but I don't know how to correct this. I am wearing headphones, so the track one audio is not being picked up by the microphone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're propably using non native ASIO drivers w/ .rec source set to "What U Hear" or native ASIO drivers w/ rec source set to "Mix L".
Use native Craetive ASIO drivers (you should have there Creative ASIO, SB Audigy 4 ASIO and SB Audigy 4 24/96 ASIO to select from) and set input to "Mic n" for microphone, "Analog Mix L" for line source.
There are some explanation on ASIO drivers (it's made for Audigy 2 Plat eX but, I suppose it's about the same w/ A4 too.) behind link -->
    http://forums.creative.com/creativel...essage.id=1726
You can also use below settings for microphone when using CT ASIO:
Also, on Cubase LE, remember switch the Input Monitoring (speaker button on every track header) "ON" when recording and switch it OFF when playback/mixing.

  • Copying clips to different tracks

This seems to be a beginner's issue, but anyway: when I copy a clip in a sequence and want to paste it on a different track, the clip always ends up on the track I copied from.
Changing the destination track before pasting doesnot work with me.
The same thing happens when I paste the clip in another sequence.
Is there a hidden pref or setup that can make it work?

    C'mon Bogie! You and I both know < </div>
Actually, Patrick, I freely admit I do not know anything about AutoSelect's operations and here's why:
With AutoSelect activated, your designations for destination and selection tracks are overridden by invisible, behind-the-interface, logic parameters. There is no indication which tracks are activate. The only visible indicators in the timeline, the user-selected destinations, are invalidated by AS. You must remember the logical progressions AutoSelect uses to determine where your tracks are going to end up. If AutoSelect knows where they're going, why isn't there a visual indication?
Yes, some tracks light up if you have in/out points set. That is a higher editing function not required or even desired by lots of folks like me who just need to cut-paste without having to remember invisible priorities. It's lame programming, a bad idea that remains unfinished. For many users, AutoSelect just gets in the way of enjoying FCP by obscuring basic operations and overriding user decisions.
FCP includes non-features that assume the operator is an idiot. I'm impatient; I'm not an idiot. I live with these hassles and I resent the presumptuousness of the design team. AutoSelect bites; I just turn it off, but Media Manager remains inexcusably flawed.

  • Is there a waveform monitor for the audio track in premier elements 13?

trying to fine tune audio, getting hits on the supplied sound tracks.
    thanks
    Dave

    Dave W
Thanks for the last two replies with details that turned around my approach to your question. It was not until your post 3 when you mentioned Music Scores did I realize that you were referring to Music Scores developed in the concept of being able to adjust their duration without altering music arrangement. You were not referring to non-Music Score music.
In the case of Premiere Elements Music Scores, I see no way to visualize their waveform in the Premiere Elements audio tracks. Double clicking a Timeline Music Score brings up the Score Properties dialog and not the Preview Window to inspect the waveform.
When "non Music Score" music is imported into Premiere Elements, it goes through a conforming process which automatically generates the cfa (audio) file and pek (waveform in audio track) file. And, these files are characterized by a waveform visible on the audio track with the appropriate audio display format. For each audio conformed, there are two files generated by the program, cfa (audio) and pek (related to waveform seen in the audio track).
When you drag a Music Score to the Premiere Elements 13 soundtrack, first you see "Generating" and "Conforming" and then Score Property dialog .When all is said and done, the Music Score is in the audio track with no waveform. If you go looking in the Media Cache Folder to determine if a cfa and pek set exist there after use of one Music Score (Drama in this example), you should find that the Drama conforming process generated 71, not 2 files, representing cfa and pek sets.
With regard to hard drive space...1 non Music Score file's conformed audio files might be expected to take up about 68.2 MB while one Music Score file's conformed audio files might
be expected to take up 263 MB.
Please take a look at what you have in the way of conformed audio in the Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit path
    Local Disk C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Common
    Media Cache Files Folder
At this time I do not know the explanation for the absence of waveform in the Music Score representation on the Timeline audio track. Need to do more homework on that.
Please let me know if you confirm my observations above.
    Thank you.

  • AVI files loaded in Premier Elements 7 only show audio and not video.

I am a new user of Premier Elements 7 and am having problems getting the video into a new project I set up. I have 6 AVI v1.0 clips that play both audio and video in Windows 7, but when I set up a project and import them, I only get the audio side and not the video side. I can drag the audio to the timeline and can play the audio just fine. But it is missing the video. I must be doing something wrong, but am new enough that I don't know where to turn.
I have been reading the forums and taking tutorials, so I think I know the steps to import a video into PRE7. I've tried many things, but still no video. I downloaded GSpot and found that my files have video H264 (H.264/MPEG-4 AVC) and audio oxooo2 (ADPCM). The codecs seem to be installed on my Windows 7 computer.
Can someone point me in the right direction on what to do next. I'm a computer professional with 50 years of experience, so am no dummy, but am new to PRE7. Thanks in advance.

I found a mini-CD that came with the product. When I loaded it on my computer, one of the options was to install a device driver. I did this and now I can see the video in PRE7. So, I think this solves my problem.
I applaud the mfgr. of the Insignia. This is the way that it should be with ALL cameras, that do not use a miniDV tape, or precise CODEC, that is mainstream. All too often, the mfgrs. tweak an existing CODEC, and just leave the customer hanging, trying to find a way to edit the footage. A couple of major mfgrs. come immediately to my mind.
Others, who use CODEC's, like Xvid, that is so heavily compressed, that even converting it to an editable format/CODEC results in such horrible footage, that no one would ever be satisfied with the finished product.
    <Soapbox Mode Off>
Glad that you are now up and editing. For my education, what does G-Spot say about the CODEC in the Insignia footage? At least next time that I encounter it, I can say - "look in the box, and install the driver to get the CODEC."
    Thanks for reporting,

I realize that I am late coming to your thread, so please let me know if you have been there and done following when trying to open a new Premiere Elements 12 Windows 7 64 bit new project.
    1. Have you right click the Desktop Icon for Premiere Elements 12 and selected Run As Administrator? Do you verify that you are running Premiere Elements 12 from a User Account with Administrative Privileges?
    2. Have you created a new (additional) User Account with Administrative Privileges and tried to install and use Premiere Elements 12 from it?
    3. Have you tried to launch Premiere Elements 12 after you have disable the Startup programs which run in the background?
See Run/Msconfig/Start Up (disable all) and Services (disable all except leave check mark next to Hide All Microsoft Services).
    4. Check out the Hosts file for anything written below the default view

    Windows
    System32
    drivers
    etc
and in the etc Folder is the hosts file whose Notepad document you open by right clicking it, selecting Open, then Notepad. There should be nothing below the last line that you see in the following default hosts file Windows 7.
If you do have to edit the hosts file Notepad documents, make a backup copy of it first.

  • Bouncing down to new track - mono!!

Hi - I'm using CS5.5 for Mac  and I want to be able to bounce edited, joined, multi-clips to new tracks in mono. The original tracks are all mono - but the bouncing function always produces a new track in stereo. Is there a setting somewhere that I've missed (I have looked exhaustively).
As a workaround I have to use the 'convert sample' function in Edit view to create a mono track from the newly bounced stereo track and then add it back in to Multitrack view. This is extremely tedious in a complicated editing project.
    Anyone else come across this?
    Cheers

Understand the question perfectly - there isn't an answer because, as you have observed, the function isn't there at present.
I'm thinking I might as well just uninstall CS6 because to many featues from CS3 were removed in CS6 and I find it user UNFRIENDLY.
No features from Audition 3 (not CS3) were removed in CS6 (only it was actually CS5.5) - they simply weren't implemented in a complete rewrite from the ground up. Not all features were re-implemented, simply because there wasn't sufficient time to implement them all before the externally-imposed deadline arrived. Some, but not all, have been added back in successive iterations. Yes, it's pretty much by popularity I think, although some things will likely never return, as they've been superseded by newer implementations. A typical example of this would be Scripting.
What I pointed out (several years ago), possibly too subtly, was that there are alternative ways of achieving a  mono bounce, and it's one of those that you have to use. I have no idea if the original 'bounce to mono' will be implemented - if you want it back, you'll have to submit a feature request.

  • Bridge / Lightroom and Premier Elements

Am I missing something obvious? I am new to using Premier Elements, but use Lightroom, Phototoshop. In Design every day. So I use LR to manage my photographic files and Bridge for everything else.
I capture video on my camera in AVCHD, so Lightroom can't import or manage the files, despite the claims that it now supports video. Bridge doesn't seem to know of Premier Elements existence and instead I am expected to use yet another browser designed to work with PS Elements. Is their a work around for this, can Bridge be made to work with Premier Elements so I don't have to waste my time learning an entirely new management system. Seems a bit barmy to me that Bridge can't work with an Adobe product.

I know of no way to get Bridge to see and interface with PrElements. I use Bridge for most of my organizing, as I also use InDesign, PS, AI and PrPro. If I am using PrE, I just do a Get Media, though those might have been "organized" in Bridge.

  • Premier Elements 10 - I cannot get the Share/Online Feature to work

Brand new install of premier elements 10 on a new PC running Windows 7.
Everything was working great until it was time to do something with the movie project.   I want to get the movie to YouTube but when I went to Share and then Selected Online - nothing happened.  I can save to computer, DVD, all of the other Share options but nothing happens when I click online.  All of the other choices bring up a new screen with saving details but when I select Online - I don't even get a reaction from the computer.
I did it once without signing into my Adobe ID but then I signed in and no difference.
I created my Adobe ID on a different computer using Photoshop but not sure if that is relevant at all or if even the Adobe ID is relevant.
    Any suggestions?
I know I can save to PC first and then upload (which is what is happening now as I type this) but I would like to remove one step if I can and have it work the way it was designed.

This is probably due to the setting in PrE for Online Sharing, and your YouTube account. I would check the info for each very closely, to make sure that everything is set up properly. Also, from time to time, YouTube has made major changes in their accounts (not that long ago, they decided to go through a department of Google - not sure if they still do), and if you're on, say an extended YouTube account, then it might be that PrE has not yet caught up to those. Do not know if PrE 10 still has the old 10 min. limit, but that was the case, until YouTube started offering extended accounts.
    Good luck,

  • Premier Elements 1.0 patch?

Okay, I know that this is a question on a very outdated version of Elements, but due to running an Athlon XP processor I'm locked in at v1.0.  Anyway, I haven't used it for awhile but recentley needed to install it again.  Does anyone know if there are any additional patches or updates available for this version?

    What do you have now.....
What computer operating system do you have?
We can go into the finer points of source and your intentions, but for now it would appear that you are using SD 4:3 source media to get to a HD 16:9 result. Lots to discuss in this regard.
What was given to you on the DVD disc? DVD-VIDEO 4:3 or something else?
If DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc, you should expect to find on the disc a folder named VIDEO_TS. That is your target for your video files.
If you were given a DVD-VIDEO on DVD disc, then all you want from it are the video files, specifically
VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB, and so on through that series until possibly getting to
VTS_02_1.VOB, and so on. How many files you have beyond the VTS_01_1.VOB file will depend on the size of the DVD-VIDEO.
Does the above scenario apply to you?
The alternative might be someone giving a DVD disc (data disc) which contains just the VTS files mentioned which were copied from
the VIDEO_TS Folder. So, you do not get the whole VIDEO_TS Folder, just the essential video files. Does this scenario apply to you.
I see no need to replace your Premiere Elements 4 with a later version unless you have a huge project and need a later version that will be a 64 bit application running specifically on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit computer.
Consider...Premiere Elements 4 and if you have DVD-VIDEO on DVD....
    1. Place the DVD disc in the burner tray
    2. Open Premiere Elements 4 and set the project preset for NTSC DV Standard (assuming you are working in a NTSC setup)
    3. Go to
    Get Media
"DVD, Digital Camera, Mobile Phone, Hard Drive Camcorder, Card Reader"
"Adobe Premiere Elements - Media Downloader" and its Advanced dialog.
Set the Source in the latter dialog for the drive which has your DVD disc inserted in its tray
You should see your VTS_01_1.VOB thumbnail in the "Adobe Premiere Elements - Media Downloader" Advanced dialog.
With this VOB selected, click on Get Media to get the file from there into the project.
    Should work fine.
Complications may be involved if the people who processed your footage gave you something other what is described above.
Please review and consider, and then we can plan our project strategy accordingly.
    Thank you.

  • How to save an edited viceo clip in premier elements 11 to my organizer (windows 07)?

This is not Adobe. We are Premiere Elements users trying to help other Premiere Elements users with their Premiere Elements workflows. Under those conditions, only Adobe may have the opportunity to access your computer in troubleshooting session between you and them. You can use the following link to contact Adobe via its Adobe Chat.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?product=premiere-elements&topic=using-my-product-or-se rvice
When the link opens, click on the statement "I still need help" to bring up Adobe Chat.
I have no idea if they will charge you a fee for the service ($40 US dollar/hour). It might not even help you (fee or no fee) because you do not have the latest version of Premiere Elements.
What you ask is easy enough. Let me try again with a step by step to see if we can get this working for you in principle and then fine tune the details.
    1. Export your Timeline to a file, using Publish+Share/Computer and then one of the choices
Adobe Flash Video, MPEG, AVCHD, AVI, Windows Media, QuickTime, Image, Audio. I do not know what your project settings are, but I am going to guess at NTSC/AVCHD/Full HD1080i30. That would represent 1920 x 1080 @ 29.97 interlaced frames per second.
The following is going to be a mini test run in principle so we will cut to the core and overlook some things.
    Go to Publish + Share/Computer/AVCHD/ and set Presets = MP4 - H.264 1920 x 1080p30.
Note that there is a field for Save In: near where you set Presets. Set the Save In for Libraries/Documents not C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe  Premiere Elements 11. Keep out of the Program Files for matters such as these.
Go to the Elements Organizer 12 File Menu/Get Photos and Videos/From Files and Folders and then browse to and select your MP4 file that you have saved in Libraries/Documents.
You now should have your video represented in the Elements Organizer 12 with a thumbnail.
Please let us know if that works for you. If not, then please let us know where you need supplemental help to get the task completed. I will re-write if necessary.
We will be watching for your results.
    Thank you.

Add On...A little side note for later...If you took your file saved to the computer hard drive and imported that back into Premiere Elements with Premiere Elements' Add Media/Files and Folders, you would get
    a. the file imported into a new project
    but also
    b. a copy of the file automatically placed in the Elements Organizer 12.
If the ideas seem overwhelming, please take the steps on one at a time and follow exactly what is written. You should do fine.
