Copying Contacts

I apologize in advance for the length of this post, but I can find no other way to describe my issue. I hope it is understandable.
I have been trying to copy my contacts from either my iPhone 4S or MBP to the Snow Leopard partition on my Mac Pro. I have iOS 6.1.3 on my iPhone; OS X 10.8.4 on my MBP and on one partition on my Mac Pro; 10.6.8 on another partition on my Mac Pro. The 10.8.4 partition on my Mac Pro and on my MBP have all my contacts. I have iTunes 11.0.4 (4) on all. I have searched and searched these forums and the web for instructions on how to do it, but I cannot find anything that deals with this latest version of ITunes, which appears to be functionally quite different from the earlier versions. I have tried the import function  from the 10.6.8 Contacts application, and from the export function  from the 10.6.8 partition, but the Contacts application destination from either source is grayed out.
I tried to export from my iPhone to the 10.6.8 partition, but the options checkboxes shown on the earlier versions of iTunes do not appear on the Apps tab in the current version of iTunes. The only checkbox available is for syncing the mail accounts. I ran the sync function anyway, but the contacts did not show up in the 10.6.8 partition.
The Mac Pro is hard-wired into my router, and 10.6.8 does not have iCloud; the iPhone and MBP are on my Wi-Fi network.
Stated succinctly, how do I duplicate the full contacts list from either source to the 10.6.8 partition? Is there a file somewhere in the 10.8.4 partition the I can copy or drag and drop into the 10.6.8 partition, or is it a worst case scenario in which I have to manually enter all the data?
Thanks for your patience and taking the time to read and respond to this question.

use device switcher with desktop manager and you will have an exact copy of your information
This can be downloaded for free from http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/
Also might be good to get a yahoo or gmail account that can sync your contacts.

how do I copy contacts from one apple id to another?

I assume you mean you want to copy them from one iCloud account/ID to another.  If they're synced with iCloud go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts to Off, when prompted choose to Keep on My [iDevice], then delete the iCloud account, sign into the other iCloud account, turn Contacts back to On and when prompted choose Merge.  Note: when you delete the account it only deletes the account from the device, not from iCloud.  If you then want to go back to your previous account, delete the iCloud account from your device, when prompted choose Delete From My [iDevice], sign back into your other account, turn your iCloud data syncing back to On, and when prompted, choose Merge.

  • How to copy contacts from one icloud account to another?

I need to transfer most contacts on my icloud account to my wife's icloud account, and I was wondering if there's a "copy and paste" way to do it. Manually coping each contact would be too time consuming. I could sign on to the icloud on her iphone, and all the contacts would appear, but I really don't want her to use my Icloud account. And when I tried  to sign off from her phone, all the contacts disappeared.
So I thought the easiest way is to copy contacts on my icloud from a pc, then paste them to her account. Is this feasible?

Might be easiest to export (via File, Export) a vcf file,  with all contacts  and then import into your wife's contacts app (via File, Import).

  • Copying contacts name and number onto SIM card

Hi. Firstly I know there are topics* on this, albeit outdated and offer no real solutions.
    This issue need serious attention.
    Scenario
BB Curve scroller is broke, can't scroll up/down.
Backed up my contact list to restore later when I get my fixed phone back.
Meanwhile, to use a replacement phone, I will need some contact names + numbers on my SIM.
I cannot count on the replacement being a BB, don't count on sync.
    Solutions
Copying a few contacts one-by-one is _not_ an option, without a scroller this is impossible.
Example: Home screen > press "c" for contacts -> filter to contact > menu > press "v" to select view > can't scroll to the number to actualize the 'copy to SIM' menu action.
So, how can I copy my contacts to the SIM card?
    Notes
Reading the older threads, there is very unhelpful biased rude remarks about how this requested "feature" is not 'important' enough or a real requirement for modern phones.
I say this house is built on wobbly foundations. This is the base of HID (human interaction devices), cross communication and transfer of data.
I'm disappointed in RIM for locking down the device in such a way - so many folks ask for this feature, because it is a standard around since the first of cellular phones.
SIM card may only have 32K of storage, but I still expect them to keep a name and a number if I need.

Unfortunately, I don't either. If you delete the MobileMe account from the iPhone, I believe you'll erase all of the contact info on the iPhone. If it's not in MobileMe either...well, that's not good!
One possibility for the contacts data (but not the calendar data). Contacts are backed up when you sync the iPhone (not to your Address Book via sync with MobileMe active, but in the iPhone backup made by iTunes before a sync). There's 3rd party app, MobileSyncBroswer, which can export the contact info from the iPhone's backup file on your hard drive. You'd need to buy a license to actually export the contact data, the free version lets you see part of the contact info so you can make sure it's there.

Is there a way to copy contacts from an old SIM card to the iPhone? Thanks

the process i went thru was vigorous but it started by going to at&t and they sold me a flash drive for $15 and they transfered my numbers on there and then when i got home i had to go to att.com/support and type into the frequently asked questions, transfering contacts from sim to iphone and they gave me a program to download which extracted the numbers onto outlook and then i just synced my contacts from outlook but the at&t store will make it sound simpler than it seems

  • Copy contacts from iPhone to Address Book in Outlook

    Hi there,
I'm asking to see whether it's possible to copy contacts from an iPhone to the Address Book in Outlook, reason why I ask is that I am trying to help my Managing Director with his wife's Outlook issue as described in the following link http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/office_2010-outlook/outlook-cont acts-wont-display-in-address-book/e7c919cd-3e68-4cab-9b21-4e0080827e21?tm=142262 7591302, if so please could you either instruct me on how to do this or to point me to some references on how to go about this.
    Kind regards,
    RocknRollTim

I have the same problem, sort of. When syncing iPhone with Windows Address Book, address entries that have more than one email address, get synced with only one email address. My only work around was to switch syncing address books from Windows Address Book to Outlook 2003. Now that iTunes 4 had messed up iPhone syncs with Outlook 2003's I've done one final sync with Windows Address Book, turn off the sync address feature in the sync window, and manually updated my address entries manually on the iPhone. I hope that Apple fixes this issue with Outlook 2003 soon, cause this is not why I shelled out $599 for a Treo upgrade!

  • Can't copy contacts from device to SIM on Blackberry Z10

    Good day!
I'm trying to copy the contacts from device Blackberry Z10 to a sim-card, I go to the Contacts in menu, click "Copy contacts from your device to a sim-card", the phone displays "some information about the contact will not be copied to the sim-card," I go to the call, Contacts (on SIM), as seen nothing to copy, as it was a couple of contacts and left. Tell me, are there any other ways to copy the contacts from your device to SIM?
    Thanks in advance!

that guide covers what the BB developers were supposed to implement. That fact is that in OS 10.1 it doesn't work that way. But most BB OS 10 functionality is still Alpha quality, not fully working, even core apps like Text messaging don't really work acceptably well for a production device.

  • Can you copy contacts from PHONE to SIM?

Does anyone know how you copy contact from  your phone memory to your sim card?? I have a backup phone which I use sometime when I go out but when I swap the sim cards over the numbers aren't ont here and I end up retyping them all.

    Hello,
    See this KB:
KB04205Copy a contact to your SIM phone book
To my understanding, it is a one-by-one function and not an "all" function. Mainly I believe this to be due to the fact that the SIM can only contain one phone number per contact while the BB Address Book can contain multiple addresses per contact.
    Good luck!
