Copying data to a PC...how?

What it the best way, on the fly, to copy files from Mac book pro to a relatively new xp or vista computer? I would like to do minimum configuring on either the PC or mac. It is to much data for memory stick or DVD burn, etc. I want a connection between the two computers
a) would it work to pug in a crossover cable between the 2 Ethernet ports? OR regular cat5 and a switch? My hesitation is network setup on the PC (and maybe mac).
b) other ideas?

The crossover cable may work, not tried it myself, but ethernet connected via a switch or router certainly will. If you have a router it'll be easiest as it will take care of assigning the network addresses. Turn on SMB (Windows) sharing on the Mac and be sure sharing is turned on in Windows, and you should be able to browse the systems from each other fairly easily.

I'm currently using WFA 2.2.0.2.6 in a product environment to create storage volumes and whilst the scripting aspects of it make provisioning the storage. there is one aspect that is difficult: getting the name of the volume path. Why is that difficult? When I execute the a workflow with WFA, the various steps in the "Execution Plan" all light up green and the volumes/qtrees created are put into the "Return parameters" tab. When I go to that "Return parameters" tab, I cannot select the data presented there for copying out. I am forced to manually transcribe what's presented in the "Returns parameters" tab. Hi, Yes we can't copy the return parameters from the "Return parameters" tab. If return parameter is used as input parameter for command in the workflow, those return parameter values can be copied from "execution plan" tab. Regards,Veerendranadh CH

Key thing in datacopy is to place the dimensions in cross dimension in the same order. Both sides (before and after "TO") should have equal number of dimension members specified.

let us consider you have to copy EKKO table to ZEKKO table
1. In ABAP program define internal table based on EKKO
 eg: i_ekko
2. Select the data from EKKO to i_ekko
 eg: select * from ekko into table i_ekko.
3. insert into Z-TABLE from the internal table
 eg: INSERT EKKO FROM TABLE I_EKKO.
 COMMIT WORK.
To insert in internal table you can use the following:

How to copy data from one BB to another via Desktop Manager

I've got two BBs (8900 and 9300), both actively in use and with different data (contacts, memos, etc.) on them.
I need to copy my tasks, memos and contacts from 8900 to 9300. I tried "switch phones" option, but it substitutes data, while I need to syncronize it, so that data from 8900 is added to what is currently is on the 9300.
Is it possible to do it via Desktop Manager? It seems there was somewhere an option "copy data from another BB", but I can't find it in the latest Desktop Manager version.

You would need to use Desktop Mangaer to sync BB1 with a local PIM program (such as Outlook or Lotus Notes) to get the information off BB1. Then use Desktop Manager to sync BB2 with the same PIM program.

I need to copy data from one planning area to other planning area, the MPOS for two planning areas are differant and here my scenario is one planning area having extra key figures.
First i need to release forecast data to CIP planning area and then, i load the data from infocube to MPS planning area and copy the data from CIP planning area. here both MPS and CIP planning areas having different MPOS .

Hi,
You can use the transaction /sapapo/tscopy.
In this you can configure your source plng area and destination plng area. You also have an option to map your KF. There is no problem if the MPOS are different as long as you are able to map the characteristics between the 2 MPOS.
Alternatively, you can create an Infocube which shares common ground between the 2 planning areas and extract data from CIP plng area into the infocube and then copy teh data from infocube to MPS plng area using the the transaction /sapapo/tscube.

File copy/paste adds " - Copy" - how to change to " - Copy" + date/time?

Is there any way I can change the default file copied name from having " - Copy" at the end to " - Copy" plus the date and time?
Before editing files I always make a copy of the existing file so I have a backup. I do this by clicking on the file I want to change in the list of files then do Ctrl C and Ctrl V which creates a copy of the file at the end of the list of times, with "- Copy" at the end of the name in the format "index - Copy.php". Is there any way I can get Dreamweaver to add the date and time to the name which would save me from editing the name and adding the date and time every time. Its a pain having to do this but I don't know any other way to ensure I know the date and time the file was copied. I know that there is a Modified date and time but changing a template for instance changes that and besides the file could also be edited but having the name reflect the copy date/time allows me to have the Modified date/time as a double check. I would like to have the file name in the format "index - Copy20110216 1621.php", the date being the international format and the time slotted on the end of it. This then puts the files in date/time order in the list.

There's no way of customising a copied file name using DW that I'm aware of.
Either rename it manually in DW or use a 3rd party file copy utlity outside DW.
Is there a reason for keeping a hard copy of the last copied date that the Last Modified date in the operating system does not record?

I have three tables TableA and TableB and TableC
I wanted to write a stored procedure to copy data row by row from TableA to TableB and then update TableC by replacing any record that has the old id (before copying) to the new id after copying the data.
here is the steps
iterate throw all the rows in tableA ( probably with a foreach)
in each iteration we will do the following:
Get current ID (identity) for each record in TableA ( will call it @oldID)
Insert the row in TableB
Get the new ID for the row from TableB will call it (@NewID)
find rows in tableC that has the (@oldID)
replace all ids in tableC with @oldID to @NewID

OraRRP Error with "Unable to copy data file;Error code 2, check disk space"

Hi,
Some users get this message -"Unable to copy data file;Error code 2, check disk space" when run report with orarrp, but most users do not get it.
I check free space at both server and client side, they are very sufficient.
I also checked directory exists for REPORTXX_TMP variable.
My user call reports via URL (rwservlet) and it occur for all reports.
How I can solve this problem?

Question 1:
I assume you have the privileges. If you don't, ask the DBA to give them to you. Then
1. Login to database_source (It could be either the source or the target. Let's assume it's the source.)
2. Create a database link to database_target: CREATE DATABASE LINK link_to_database_target CONNECT TO myuserid IDENTIFIED BY mypassword USING 'database_target'; Note the single quotes.
3. Copy the table data: INSERT INTO targetowner.mytable@link_to_database_target SELECT * FROM sourceowner.mytable; COMMIT;
Question 2:
You have two options, but you may not have privileges for both.
Option 1:
DELETE FROM tableowner.tablename; COMMIT;
Advantage: Since this is a DML (Data Manipulation Language) statement, you have to commit the transaction. Also, the data will be gone but the table size is NOT changed, so it's ready for accepting replacement data. DML statements can simply be executed not only from SQL scripts, but from PL/SQL scripts as well.
Disadvantage: Slow, because all record deletion is logged, so you can recover from it by issuing a ROLLBACK; instead of the COMMIT; above. The table size is NOT changed, so if you are short of disk space or tablespace space, you have not resolved the issue.
Option 2:
TRUNCATE TABLE tableowner.tablename;
Advantage: Since this is a DDL (Data Definition Language) command, you do NOT have to commit the transaction. (DDL commands automatically commit both before and after their execution.) The table size will be changed back to the initial extent size which is the minimum size a table can have and can only be set when the table is created. If it needs to be changed, the table has to be dropped and recreated with a different initial extent size. The statement execution of this command is not logged, therefore it's much faster then the DELETE.
Disadvantage: No rollback. Being a DDL, this command cannot be executed straight from PL/SQL. If you need to issue this within PL/SQL, you will have to use dynamic SQL.
