iTunes will not accept Window Media player tracks that are protected. If you imported them off your own CDs, did you check the option to apply protection to them? If so, your only choice is to re-rip those CDs.

  • Is there an easier way to convert files from Windows Media Player to iTunes

I have many gb's of music in my Windows Media Player...now that I have an ipod I want to move the music over. Do I really have to do this one file at a time or is there away to move over whole albums at once? Is there a way to transfer the entire library at once? Do I have to reload ALL of those CD's? PLEASE HELP !!!!

Maybe you can help me out too. I have copied over 250 gigs of music in WAV loss less files to windows media player. On media player I see the artist, album etc. However, when I add the file, either as the song or whole album only the track number and song title copy to the itunes. How do I get all the other information like genre, album title, artist. If I convert to applelossless I still do not get anything and when I search AppleSTore for album art nothing happens. Please help.

  • Problem with import files from windows media player into iTunes

When I have tried to import my .wav lossless files created under windows media player into iTunes I use File, add folder to library but when the action is completed I get all of the files under the heading 'unknown album' with 'unknown artist'.
Does anyone know that I need to do in order to include the artist and album ?
    Many thanks,
    John.

You'll first need to add the MP3s to your iTunes library since the iPod is not compatible with Windows Media Player. You can use, for example, the File > Add to Library menu to do this.

  • Is there a way to move files from Windows Media player to Itunes?

I have a lot of files in windows media player from Walmart.com. Is there any way to move these into my itunes library to sync onto the Nano?

Do you know what format the video is in and if its protected? most likely you will need to convert it, there quite a few converters out there. (i can't remember any)

  • Moving music files from windows media player to itunes

when I first got my ipod, only half of my music files moved from windows media player into itunes. Is there anyway I can import the rest of the music from windows media player into Itunes? I have tried using the import function and add file or folder to library and they do not seem to work!

  • Linking music files from Windows Media Player to Itunes

How do you link music between WMP (this is where I download my music) and ITunes without having to copy all the files so I don't need to use up hard drive space?

  • Getting mp3 files from Windows media player to itunes.

Hi,  I have ripped music to windows media player no problem. But how the h e l l do I easily and reliably import the music files to to the itunes program, it refuses to find the files. I have occassionally succeeded in doing this, after hours of trying, partially by trying everything that comes to mind. Why is the darn program so darn user unfriendly and unintuitive????? I am sorry I bought my wife an ipod.   thanks for any help provided.

Make sure you know the folder(s) where the MP3s reside.  Depending on your setup, it might be "My Music."  Then go into iTunes and use the command File > Add Folder to Library, and navigate it to the folder.

  • Encoding iMovie files for Windows Media Player

    iMovie 11 / 9.0
    Mac OS 10.6.8
I edit audio/video in iMovie (currently the only program I have) and need to output for streaming on the internet. Most of our subscribers are using older versions of Windows Media Player and as I understand won't be able to play MP4. I couldn't play the MP4 using Windows Media Player 9.0, "invalid format" error.
What software could I use to convert MP4 to a format for streaming on the internet that our subscribers play using WMP? Should I save the file out of iMovie in a different format to convert?
I have Adobe Media Encoder 4.2.0.006 but my options are h.264 or flash, got error messages when I tried to "Edit Export Settings".
    Thanks

The easiest way is to upload video to YouTube and embed videos on your site from there. This way you don't have to worry about which version of Windows, which version of Internet Exlorere, etc.
Another way, ask your users to install QuickTime For Windows. Then export normally,
Another way, get one of the paid versions of Flip4Mac, and you can convert files to wmv using QuickTime Pro or MPEG Streamclip or Compressor.

  • Converting music files from Windows Media Player to iTunes

There has got to be an easier way to convert these files...does anyone have any suggestions? It is only reading them as text files and they aren't. They are straight from my cd collections.

  • EXPORT LONG FILES IN 1080p for Windows Media Player

Hello, need some help in exporting and encoding some large files from Premiere CS6.
We have 4 Sequences, each totalling 45minutes in length and in 1080p (ProRes422).
We need to export and encode for Windows Media Player as quickly as possible.
Looks like each export is going to take over an hour from Premiere as "Match Sequence Settings"
-keep in mind there is NO AUDIO.
Once it's out of Premiere as an MPEG, I can transcode to any format. Ultimately WMV would be optimal,
but we need to transcode the MPEG into a MOV file before 'Episode' will accept it, just to make the WMV files.
Target files: (4) 1080p Windows Media Player compatible files
Does anyone have a better workflow workaround? Midnight hour and need help!
    Thanks in advance,
    Dan

Thanks Jim, I can't export to WMV out of Premiere or Media Encoder. I use Episode to make my WMV files, and since Episode doesn't take MPEG in from Premiere (sigh)
I have to first make them in Quicktimes..
But yes! Anything Windows Media Player can handle... should I just go with the 5GB MPG files? No way for me to test, I'm on a Mac and these are playing on a PC
    thanks for your help

  • How to convert WMA files (from Windows Media Player) to play in iTunes

How do I convert WMA files (from Windows Media Player) to now play in iTunes?

Use Edit > Preferences > General tab > Import Settings to set your desired import format and bitrate. Note there is no point converting 128k wma into 320k mp3, you'll just get bigger files with no improvement in quality. Once you have set your import settings just drag & drop the files you want converted into iTunes.

  • Logon Scripts for copying files in Windows 7

Issues using Logon scripts to copy files in windows 7.  Its default is to append the file rather than copy and replace, which is what XP did.  How can I achieve the same results using
logon scripts in W7 to copy any files to specified folders and replacing old files.  The reason for this is that we use a software that performs offsite/onsite updates and the only way all the users can have the correct version/tables is to either manually
update each user in a 90+ user environment or use a logon script to perform the coping of the updates.  Unfortunately the software support won’t create a (while logging in to software) patch for this.  So we have to force it during the user logon.

    Hi Novice,
It should depend on your script content. it's recommended you ask in the official scripting guys forum for professional help:

  • What happened is that my internet connection was not good so i downloaded .ipsw file from a torrent but now i cannot get it to update my ipad because ios 5.0.1 is out i tried copying files to ipad updates in the itunes folder but no help

what happened is that my internet connection was not good so i downloaded .ipsw file from a torrent but now i cannot get it to update my ipad because ios 5.0.1 is out i tried copying files to ipad updates in the itunes folder but it still asked me to download a 700mb software update
    plz help

If you downloaded the correct version for your iPad model (and the different models have different ipsw files), then you should be able to navigate to it in iTunes by pressing and holding the shift key on Windows (command key on Mac) when clicking the Check For Updates button.

  • Windows Media Player to iTunes

I have several media files on Windows Media Player, and I want to load them onto my iPod. Can that be done, and if so, how? I tried a direct transfer from my computer hard drive to the iPod, but none of the music showed up on the iPod. This lead me to think it is not possible. Is that so?

Make itunes your default audio player open itunes then on the taskbar click on start then click on search when the
window opens click on pictures, music, or video then tick the box for music then click search when all your music files are found double click on anyone that as an itunes logo on it and it will send it to your itunes library and start playing it just keep on repeating good luck
