Copying or extracting from a sequence crashes premiere cc 2014

When I copy or extract from a sequence, premiere crashes. This happens on both my work PC and home PC.
Searched the forums but can't see this being highlighted.

What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information

Hi,
I use 'create multi-camera source sequence' to sync up 2nd system audio with DSLR footage.
If i select more than say 10 clips to sync with an audio file it will crash premiere pro CC 2014 50% of the time.
Does anyone else find this? is it naturally unstable?
syncing by 'audio mixdown'
I'm on a new Mac Pro 6 core, 16gb RAM, Pegasus 2 RAID.

Editing a series for Fox - weird behavior from our system since Premiere CC 2014.2 Update

Hi all,
I'm cutting a series for Fox and we're on season 3. I cut all of season 1 on FCP7. Then dipped my toe into Premiere waters between seasons and cut all of season 2 in Premiere with excellent results. My only gripe on the previous Premiere CC versions was towards the ends of cuts when my timelines were rather complicated, I'd have a crash or two each day. Well I'm finishing up an episode this week which is the first I've cut in version 2014.2. It's WAY more stable, I haven't had a single crash in weeks. That part is amazing! The huge downside has been that my real time performance seems to have taken a serious hit even though the hardware, disk storage, video card, tower etc. are all identical. Worse is that when I'm playing back a sequence that's longer than one show act (like a sequence with the entire show in it, only 22 minutes) I'll a lot of time get a slight stutter frame between edits and that happens on a lot of edits. It's a fast paced racing competition show so say I'm playing back my timeline with a cut from a go pro on the steering wheel to a shot outside the car, it looks like there's a freeze frame of 2 frames long at the end of the GoPro shot before going to the shot outside the car. It's not only going from GoPro to non GoPro, it seems to happen on any kind of footage UNLESS I render it all, then it's fine. It's very frustrating. I've also confirmed when opening up an old show that played back fine on the previous version that this is still happening on these old projects as well. Also when color correcting in a sequence, there's generally a delay in seeing my color changes of several seconds! Premiere has always been instantaneous or very close to instantaneous when showing color updates for the past year until this update. Is this a known issue? Here's my specs:

Mac Pro 2009 2.93 Octo
32GB Ram (in my memory settings of Premiere, I have it set to optimize rendering for Performance and 26 GB RAM for Premiere, 6GB for other apps)
GeForce GTX 780 6GB version
My media is attached via a GRAID 4TB drive connected via eSata. I've also tried a different Graid attached via USB3 and another hard drive connected via FW800.
OSX 10.9.5

Hi, I had the same problem.
What I found is the audio external interface needed to be reset.
So I've did this : quit Premiere, unplug my USB audio device, plug it back and launch premiere.
Every was fine.

New Sequence at HD, automatically adjust resolution from previous sequence?

I imported video at full 1080 but edited together a sequence created before i adjusted the easy setup settings for full resolution. So it appears that although i imported the video at full 1080, i edited the clips at a smaller resolution. If i create a new sequence with 1080, is there a way i can just pull all the edits of my previous sequence and have them automatically adjust to 1080? thanks!

Copy and paste from one sequence to the other. Than use the remove attributes function to reset the clips in the new sequence back to their original condition.

My Program and Source Monitor Stopped Working: Premiere Pro 2014

Heres how it all started.
I got an error which said I didn't have the correct video modules, then came the ugly face of BSOD. I restarted, tried again, same result. I did a system restore with Windows, reinstalled Windows 8.1, reinstalled all of my plugins and Adobe CC programs, and when I opened my project was completely scrambled. Uninstalled all Adobe software, ran CC Cleaner, reinstalled. This got the audio in my videos to work but now there's only a white screen on my my Source and Program monitor when I try to play my timeline. I did another system restore on Windows, went to my laptop manufacturers website and updated my bios, graphics driver, and processor. Also reinstalled windows updates, and my Adobe software, I've tried CC Cleaner before each install, tried going back to the previous version of Premiere and still nothing in my source or Program monitors.

using .MTS footage from a Canon C100

Things I've tried from other threads:
-I read that there might be a problem with the .MTS files so I've also tried starting a new project with .MOV files and h.264 and still nothing.
-I tried going into the project settings and choose "render with software", still nothing.
-I tried emptying media cache files under C://users/my user/app data/roaming/Adobe/common.....you guessed it, NOTHING.
-I tried using my daughters "Frozen" magic wand we bought her for Christmas to fix the problem with icy magic like Elsa did in the movie.......surprisingly, still nothing.
Any other ideas out there?

Hi,
Do you have Dual Graphics Adapters? You can check that under Device Manager > Display Adapters.
If yes, Disable Intel Graphics and see if it helps.
Have you tried to Trash the Preferences?
Rename the 8.0 folder to trash the preferences: <drive>\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro\

Exporting hdv from Ae to Premiere crashes premiere

hey!
I renderd an hdv1080i file from ae to import in premiere and edit it together with hdv captured from an fx1 into premiere.
for some reason if I import it and then play it from the top it works but if I start scrolling premiere crashes..
I dont understand cause I'm using a standard hdv1080i50 preset to output from ae (cs4)
please help, thanks!

I tried to render them earlier, and import from an AVI file, but the 2 sequences came back as different sizes.
They looked the same, and correct when I played them in the source box, but when I brought them to the timeline they were different. Essentially, one of the sequences I had to convert to "fit" instead of 100%....but I couldn't figure out how to do this to one without the changing the other.

Copy Select Steps from Sequence to a new Sequence Programmatically

I have a sequence that calls a sequence file ( decided at run-time ) and when that sequence ( only 1 in this file ) has a step that fails it is stored in the external program. What I'd like to do is create a new sequence ( on the fly ), "extract" ( copy ) the steps that failed from the sequence I ran to the new sequence, and run the new sequence. 1. Best way to do that? 2. What happens to the preconditions, preexpressions, postexpressions of the steps when they're copied? Thanks.

You will need to use the Clone method rather than the NewStep and this should create a copy of your steps, including all the properties such as pre-conditions, pre-expressions etc.

How do I sync the "view size" when I copy clips from one sequence to another in FCE4?

My idea was to edit an advanced clip in a separate sequence (bad idea) and then copy it into the main sequence, but I ran into an obstacle.
For a clip to fit the window in Sequence 1 it is shown at 44%, while in sequence 2 it is enough with 22%. Problem is, when I copy a clip from sequence 2 to 1, it appears twice the size. How can I adjust this? The clip from sequence 2 becomes disproportionately big on the screen when copied to sequence 1.

As Studio X pointed out, you open a huge can of worms when you work with sequences of different specifications, but try this -
once the clip has been pasted into the sequence, click on it on the timeline so that it is selected. Now Control-click on that clip, and from the drop down menu, choose Remove Attributes.
When the remove attributes pane opens, check the box for Basic Motion and Distort (if they are not grayed out) and click OK. This should reset the clip size.
If this is successful, you can do this to multiple clips all at once by selecting them, then clicking on any one of the selected clips and doing the above.

To copy photos to your computer that were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page - on a PC you can use the windows camera wizard
To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app on your iPad such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.

No that's not what I'm looking to do. (or maybe I just didn't understand what you wrote.)
What I mean is if I have 4 sequences open and I wanted to move a clip from sequence 2 to sequence 4. What I do now is copy the clip in sequence 2 and go to sequence 4 and paste it.
Is there a easier way?

Crashes whenever I try to copy an item from form to form

I crash frequently when I try to copy an item from one form to another. Many times, I will be able to copy 2-3 text boxes from one form to the next. On the 4th....crash. I get a image of a text box with a plus sign next to it when Livecycle locks... then I crash with no real message
No a huge issue as its just text for now... but annoying

Hi,
I have a timeline in premiere cs55 with MTS files, i copy and paste all the timeline from premiere to after, all work and i have a precomposition for each MTS source file which is what I want.
I have an other timeline with QT prores mov files, i do the same ( copy and paste to after effects), all work but i have only footage without precomposition of each mov files...
Do somebody knows why ? what I need to do to have this automatic precomposition by file source when i copy and paste from premiere to after effects ?

Trim Compose script is nice but it's not exactly what I want.
For instance : If I have 3 sources clip A, B and C each 10 minutes. I edit on the timeline and keep for instance 5 differents small parts of clip A, 3 of clip B, 7 of clip C, every thing mix in time, like we can do for an interview editing.
I want to put in after effects a composition with my final edit with use of edit of 3 precomp of entire clip A, B, C. This way i can make a key or color correct etc.. in each 3 precomp only and have all my shots with these key or color correct in my final comp..
in fact Trimcompose like but with only one precomp per source file, edit in final timeline... Sorry difficult to explain for me in english..
It is what happen with my MTS files in my project but i don't know how it's happen...

Anamorphic dimensions skewed when clips copied from one sequence to another

I'm in the process of editing a lengthy video documentary using footage captured on a Canon FS100 DV camera. I'm using the DV file format and set my project to NTSC DV Anamorphic (since I believe that to be the proper format based on the source video I'm working with).
In one specific sequence I'm working on, all of the video clips I'm using properly appear as anamorphic with an anamorphic Viewer and Canvas. However, other sequences (and I didn't notice this until many hours of work editing clips) appear to be in the 4:3 dimension format. The source anamorphic clips appear as anamorphic within the 4:3 in the Viewer and Canvas. The problem is that when I copy a clip from one of the 4:3 sequences to the working Anamorphic sequence, it resizes/skews the source video clip to look shorter and wider.
I have taken screen captures which I identify what I'm talking about though I don't see a way to include them in this post. I can email them to anyone who needs the visual to better understand my problem.
What have I done wrong? Is there any way to non-destructively re-dimension the sequences to an anamorphic format so I don't lose 20 hours of clip editing?

Thanks, Tom. You've helped me solve my problem -- and hours of editing.
Here are the procedures I followed:
1) Selected the anamorphic clip in the 4:3 sequence I wanted to copy to the anamorphic sequence. Keyboard shortcut: Command-C
2) Pasted the clip in the anamorphic sequence. Keyboard shortcut: Command-V
3) Selected the pasted clip and called up the 'Remove Attributes' pop-up. Keyboard shortcut: Command-Option-V
4) Made sure the Distort checkbox is checked. Clicked OK.
5) Voila!!!
Of course, this can be done with a group of clips. Another trick is to create a new sequence that is set up as desired (e.g. NTSC DV Anamorphic), copy the entire 4:3 sequence, paste it in the new sequence and then bulk remove the distort attribute.
