Copying PDF into Excel

Hi,
Is there a way to insert or copy a pdf into an excel document.
When i have a pdf open i click on edit and then click on copy file to clipboard
I then go into excel and click on paste and it pastes (i think as an image) the first page of the pdf which is brilliant. but i need to be able to see the other pages of the pdf as the pdf has multiple pages?
Also, if i'm in excel and try it a different way by clicking on insert and then object and then selecting a pdf document i get an error saying that excel can't insert the object?

You need Adobe Acrobat to do so. On a machine with Adobe Acrobat installed, open the pdf and use Export option to export the pdf file in a format you want.

When exporting PDF into Excel works great - with one exception

In converting a pdf into an excel document (with 10 columns) all of the columns and the data line up accurately after conversion - except for one of them. 5 of the columns are numerical values and 5 are characters/letters (in mixed order).
The column that does not align is column 9 and it's a text based column. The info from this column appears on it's own line in the first column - which is a numerical field. I have to cut and paste that info and place it in the correct column manually and I realy hope to avoid doing that because this is a 30,000 line long piece of excel data!. It is formatted perfectly in the pdf version and only is a problem when I convert it into excel.
Anyne ever have the same issue that found a fix? Any suggestions or ideas?

Maybe not available with Mac? Don't know.
With Windows, select, right click & it is on the context menu.

I'm trying to copy and paste from acrobat 9 into excel. The lines all copy into the same cell. I would like the lines to be split into different columns. I am using copy as table and paste special. Is that correct? Is there any other way to do this?d

Embed PDF into Excel

I realize that this is a combination of an adobe question and an excel question, but the forums that have attempted to answer this question for others don't solve my problem. The adobe instructions for inserting a pdf into an excel cell say: "To embed a PDF file into your Excel worksheet, click the cell in which you'd like the top left corner of the PDF to appear. On the Insert tab, click the "Object" button, then select "Adobe Acrobat Document" from the the Create New tab." The problem I have is that when I click the "Object" button, "Adobe Acrobat Document" isn't an option for me. My options are limited to "Microsoft Equation, Microsoft Graph Art, Microsoft Word 97-2004 document, Microsoft Word Document, and Microsoft Macro-Enabled Document." How can I get Adobe Acrobat Document to be one of my options?

You will have to purchase, install and activate Acrobat XI.
Then you will be able to insert an "Adobe Acrobat Document" as an object.

Convert pdf into excel format - format issue

Before I purchase an Adobe Acrobat Pro XI I have downloaded the trail version for evaluating. I have also run an Update of the program.
Our company is receiving a lot of order files in PDF-format and instead of entering the order lines manually into our order system we want to convert these pdf files into Excel format. We can then use this xls file to upload the order into SAP and in that way save a lot of time. The pdf file consists of several columns as material number, description, quantity …..I want that every column in the pdf document also appears in one own column in the xls file. This works for several order lines but then suddenly are all the columns for some order line written into one and the same column and then are the columns again correctly written. I have tried with several pdf files with the same problem. Has anyone any idea what the reason for this issue is?

Is this a PDF form? If so, you should be able to extract the data in the form using the manage data under the forms tools. That may be what you are looking for.
Whenever I see a post related to forms by a commercial concern, there is an issue related to Reader rights. Some of this has changed with AA XI and it would be good to review the license agreement carefully to be sure you are in compliance (law suits are not pretty).

Hi need to export Bank Statements into an Excel document, so I can edit and add information. I have downloading the Statement which is PDF format than exported to Excel. I than open the file and the margins are all out alignment. Need to amend and put everything in their correct margins. Is their a easier way of doing this?

If it's imported in to excel you nee to adjust the Columns and rows to fit, in excel. Once its imported It has nothing to do with acrobat.

In the medical industry, see site below. Received a secure PDF and PW from a Medical office and are trying to export it to PDF. We are trying to analyze the data to see what and who purchased medical equipment. All attempts to export have turned the data into unreadable data. Is there anyway to export clean data from a secure PDF into Excel?

I have a file that is 122 pages long and I am trying to export the data into Excel. When I try to copy the pdf info, it shows in Excel as a picture, not the specific data. I have Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0 and the pdf version is 1.5 (Acrobat 6.x). The PDF producer is Adobe Acrobat 7.0 paper capture plug-in. Are are any suggestions on how to trasfer the data to Excel? Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, the file is still in the checking queue. Do I understand you correctly that the PDF is actual text, or is it a scan? If you scanned it and got just the graphics, you have to run OCR before you can continue. I would do this on a copy of the scan file so that you can always go back to that file as you try things.

It's not something I have tried before. Have you tried it, and what's happened?
Basically, copy/pasting tables is a bit of a problem - anywhere. Table formats are different in different circumstances - Excel, HTML, PDF, ...
If you copy a HTML table and paste it into an Excel sheet, the entire table will go into one single cell.
So most likely what you are trying to achieve will not work.

it seems my subscription had expired so I signed up again.. It was still having trouble so I repeated the sign up process again.. Then it worked perfectly.. Unfortunately, I think I just subscribed twice and need to cancel one of them. Ugh. Such a pain when I'm trying to get this project completed. I'll be canceling at least one of the subscriptions in the morning. Adobe is not my favorite company right now. None of this was intuitive. And trying to get help was an absolute waste of an hour.

How can I copy a pdf into Pages

I often get documents emailed to me in pdf format that I want to edit. On my Mac I can select text in the pdf and copy/paste into Word to make it an editable document. On my iPad I have Pages. Does anyone know of an app (preferable free or low cost) that will let me copy the text in a pdf so I can paste it into a Pages document to edit it? I've tried a couple of different pdf apps and most allow me to mark up the pdf but now seem to let me select and copy text.

I have not found a way to copy text at all from a pdf file on the iPad.

I'd like to convert several pdf files (up to 500) into Excel at the same time. Is it possible ? How many files can Export PDF handle at the same time ?

Hi, Sylvain.
This is a great idea! Currently, ExportPDF only can export 1 file at a time. (Acrobat can do a batch export using it's Action Wizard feature.)
