  • After updated to iPhoto 9.3.1 and I do not see any of my devices (iPod, iPhone...) in the source list and I need to take the pictures off of the devices into iPhoto.

iPhoto update does not let me see any of my devices (iPod, iPhone or iPod Touch) and I need to remove the pictures on some of these devices to free up some space for new pictures.

Go to iPhoto Preferences/General and make sure Connecting camera opens=iPhoto. Also, check and see if the devices are recognized by iTunes or Image Capture.

  • I dropped my phone in water.  Now iTunes says it needs to be restored.  How do I get my original pictures off of the phone before restoring the phone and losing all of my information?

I dropped my iPhone 3G in water and it immediatley turned off.  One day later, it turns on again but it tells me to connect to iTunes.  iTunes says that I need to restore my iPhone to the factory settings in order for it to work again.
I want to get all of the pictures off of my phone (if it's not too late), but I'm not sure how to do it.  The only option iTunes gives me is to restore the phone.  My computer doesn't even detect the phone as being connected to my computer so I cannot view the pics that way.
Can anybody help me figure out how to get the pictures off of my phone before restoring it?
    Thanks in advance.

    Also you could try this:
Following are Steps to Transfer Photos from iPhone to MAC:
1). Attach your iPhone to Mac
    2). Open up Preview
3). Click File menu and from there select “Import from iPhone…”
4). Select the photos you would like to transfer and click import, Select “Import All” in case you want to have all the photos in computer.
5). For confirmation sake go to ~/Pictures/ folder, picture copied from iPhone should be there.
If you have a windows PC then follow below given procedure to Transfer Photos from iPhone to PC.
You can accomplish this just using Windows Explorer, but there are two different methods. And here you go with the first one.
1). Plug your iPhone into your computer without iTunes running.
2). Now pop-up will appear asking what you would like to do with iPhone.
    3). Click on “View Content”
    4). Locate your photos.
5). Copy the same and paste it at desired location on your computer.
Another method for Mac users is "Image Capture" which is already installed on your mac, I will look for other applications for mac users, hope this helps!

  • How can I remove the greyed out items in iTunes under the devices media list?

As you can see in the photo below I am slowly collecting greyed out TV episodes in my phones list of synced items. Its like they're pending a synchronisation but never actually do.
    Things I have tried:
Turning off synching for individual episodes, shows and "all TV" doesn't remove them.
Syncing them to the device and then removing them, they show as copied to the device as normal but when they're removed the grey "pending sync" reappears.
fully wiping and restoring the device, no change if I restore a backup. I would like to avoid a complete "fresh" start is possible just due to the hassle of resetting apps etc.
Since it seems to be tied to some sort of cache that remembers the items pending synchronisation I would expect there is a way to clear that from the backup/phone/itunes without completely wiping the device and starting again. If not i'll work out if the placeholders are taking up space - which it looks like they might be under the "Other" category, if not then they can just stay.

    Hi romeisdead,
Happy Holidays!  Here are the instructions to remove the U2 album:
Remove iTunes gift album "Songs of Innocence" from your iTunes music library and purchases - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201396
    To remove this album:
    Go to https://itunes.com/soi-remove.
Click Remove Album to confirm you'd like to remove the album from your account.
Sign in with the Apple ID and password you use to buy from the iTunes Store.
You'll see a confirmation message that the album has been removed from your account.
If you downloaded the songs to iTunes on your Mac or PC or to the Music app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you'll need to delete them manually.
    Cheers,
    - Judy

  • How can I delete pictures off my nano device

I have no idea how to delete the pictures off the device. Any suggestions? Thanks

    Hi maize005,
Photos on an iPod nano can be managed from iTunes on the computer that you are using as a source for content for the iPod. See this article for how to manage them -
    iTunes: Syncing photos
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Turning pictures off in the message area

Is it possible to turn off the pictures in themessage area.
Having a picture at the top of the window showing the other person  is find, but showing the picture with every message in the message window just waste space.   On that front Lync 2013 is worst than 2010.

    Hi,
    Agree with Anthony.
After update to the latest version for Lync 2013, click the option “Hide picture in IM”, then the picture hided during the conversation.

  • How to copy only part of the music media folder and library to another Mac

    Dear friends,
I run iTunes in Mac OS. The iTunes music media folder is now located in an external HD because it´s quite large (2T). The problem is that I´got a second Mac and I´d like to copy -in this second Mac, only part of my music using only its internal  HD (300 Mb) . How can I do this copy while preserving art and play-lists?
    Thanks in advance

    that's what playlists are for.
and how to maintain transfer process in future when I want to change the music on my nano.
add/delete track to/from the playlist you sync to your device.

  • Cannot copy pictures off of Shared library

I sometimes open iPhoto on my computer and connect to my wife's computer running iPhoto. I used to be able to then copy photos I want to my computer across the network. But now with iPhoto 11 I cannot copy files from the shared library. I can select the remote pictures but when I drag them over my library the cursor does not change to show that the files can be copied.

The external drive is read only - by the looks of it.
Perhaps it is Windows formated with NTFS partition.
If it is empty you need to reformat it for Mac using Disck Utility in your Applications / Utilities.

  • Copy Pictures out of the Photos Application

Hi, I am having troubles dragging out pictures from the new Photos application on my MacBook Pro, into safari and webpages like google drive.  I need to export it onto the desktop and from there drag it into google drive. Exporting it like this is a pain, especially when dealing with large numbers of photos. Does anyone have a solution?
    Thanks

Make a Folder on your Desktop, “Exported Images”, for example
Within Photos.app, click  "Photos” on the left hand pane
Press COMMAND+A (or Edit > Select All), to select all the images in your library.
Then, File > Export > Export [number of selected images] items...
Select the Desktop folder created in (1) as the destination

  • My iphone has broken but I was informed I could get my pictures from off of the computer how do i get my pictures?

My iphone broke and I really wanted to get my pictures off of the phone. I was told that i could log on here and get them does anyone know how i can get my pictures? please and thank you.

How is your phone broke?  If you can't power it on, then there is no way for you to import or backup your photos.

  • HT1414 everything is wiped off of the iPhone

I was updating my moms iPhone 3 and it said it was backing the phone up but then I got an error message saying that it can't back the phone up. Now absolutely everything has disappeared off of her phone. It wont let me restore all of her old info. HELP

Is there actually a backup to restore?  You stated it failed during the backup.
Hopefully your mom has been using the device as designed by syncing contacts and calendars to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service, copying all pictures taken with the device to a computer regularly and keeping all media and content in iTunes.

  • How to get contact pictures off iPhone

I saved a picture with most of my contacts on my iPhone. Now I'd like to get those pictures off of the iPhone and onto a computer. Can someone help?
So you know, I took the contact pictures from directly within the contact editor. I've tried sync'ing to my computer, but I only get thumbnails on my computer when I want the whole picture (I'm going to transfer the pictures to another iPhone).
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I have no clue, but don't think resolution is all that crucial.
Even a low-res picture can help preserve an important memory. Or something that makes a good phone contact picture may likely also make a good avatar for flickr, twitter, etc, and it would not need to be full resolution for such purposes.
Nothing taken with the iPhone is all that high-res anyhow. IIRC, pix assigned on the phone show up full-screen, so it's probably not as low-res as the teeny photo assigned on the desktop and transferred via sync.
Incidentally, google turned up this method of retrieval, using the Mac:
If you click "edit" on the contact's entry in Address Book and then double click inside their picture, it will appear as a somewhat bigger version, which you can copy with command-C. But it's a far cry from full-resolution.
    http://forums.macnn.com/103/ipod-iphone-and-apple-tv/341591/iphone-contact-photo s-how-to-extract/
I can't test it, though, as I don't sync contacts, and really have no clue whether the iPhone sync contact pictures to Outlook on Windows, which I assume the OP uses.
