Copying purchased music - How many times?

Hi all,
How many times can you copy purchased music from the iTMS? I remember reading there was a limit of five times, but I haven't been able to resource the info again. What happens if you burn the music to CD? Does it still have a copy limit like that Sony anti-copy disaster a few months ago? - Which didn't effect Macs at all! "Good on ya Jobbsy" : )
Thanks in advance for your input.

There is a 7 burns limit to a specific playlist which contains 1 or more purchased songs.

  • Is there a limit to how many times you can burn a CD of purchased music?

Sorry if this is a common question...
I tend to buy music in the iTunes store, then burn CDs to listen to in my car. They get scratched up a lot so I will usually need to burn them several times. Will iTunes allow me to do this with DRM-protected, purchased music, as many times as I need?

You can only burn any given playlist containing tracks from the iTunes Music Store a maximum of seven times. After that, you have to change the playlist in some way (adding or removing a track will do) or create a new playlist.

  • How many times can I download Quick Time Pro once I purchased it?

Last September I purched my update to Quick Time Pro. Now I bought a new Computer and re-formatted the old one, not being able to copy Quick Time Pro from the old to the new computer. Therefore I wanted to download again Quick Time Pro: In the settings window I introduced my program key and then "accepted". It said "Quick Time pro" below the registration line; however, the "apply" buttom was not operative. I checked and my Quick Time version was still "Quick Time 7", not Pro. My question is: how many times can I download Quick Time Pro once I purched it? If I can download it more often than once, how do I proceed? Thank you for your help.

    I started this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2454706&tstart=0
but I'm afraid it's so involved that thus far, nobody has "touched" it.
However, PART of my problem is similar to THIS person's.
My problem is that I have QT on two different drives in one computer; the one I paid for [QT Pro?] and one I got for free; QT7. I fear the free QT7 might have "interfered" with my "Pro".
So, taking your advice above, looking in the "Help" "About" menu, I find that BOTH of mine another "offer" above the word "About"; they suggest that I "Purchase QT Pro"...... so now, if BOTH of my QT's say THAT, then may I conclude that I do NOT have the Pro version? I'm meaning to say that if I already HAVE the Pro, they wouldn't suggest that I go and "Buy QT Pro".... right? Is this a safe conclusion? for ya'll that HAVE the Pro, and KNOW it, does it suggest to you that you could go and "purchase QT Pro"?
    Thanks,
    LarryR : )

  • How many times can I re-download music or apps from the iTunes store?

    Hey guys!
How many times can i Re-download the iTunes songs and apps?
I am thinking of buying a few albums from iTunes, but I am not quite sure if I have the possibility to re-download them as well?
    Thanks!
    Rick

As many as you like, until or unless they are no longer offered.
You should ALWAYS maintain a backup copy of your computer, including your music.

  • Does anyone know how many times a newly purchased product (MB Air 2014) can be exchanged within the 14 day period?

Does anyone know how many times a newly purchased product (MB Air 2014) can be exchanged within the 14 day period? I feel like the MB Pro would be a better fit for me, so I wanted to exchange my Air for the Pro. But also, if I end up not liking the Pro and want to go back to an Air, would I be permitted to do so with another exchange? (all still within the 14 day window after purchase of course).
Also, are there any specifics I need to know in order to return my product and get a new one?  Obvioulsy, I would be sure to remove all of my personal files, music, etc...but is there anything else I need to do?
And lastly, and im sure this question is irritating to you Mac wiz kids out there, but are the two models im comparing really all that different?  I just cant make up my mind and would love some pointers/suggestions/tips/info to help me figure out what model is best for me (the apple employee that was helping me in the store was actually not that helpful at all, if they were I wouldnt have to ask this question on a discussion board).  I do tons of multimedia things and download and enjoy music, tv shows, movies, all that stuff..and I used to love to burn dvds and cds (obviously cant do that with the MB Air now which totally bummed me out ).  Which model does anyone think I should stick with?  Id greatly appreciate some opinions! Really tho, help me out ppls! I'd love some helpful advice! I sometimes have problems making big/important/expensive decisions lol  I just really want to make sure i am getting the best model for all of my daily tasks and all of the things i actually do regularly on my computer.
Oh, last lastly- I cant afford anything more than a 13" STANDARD MacBook Pro at the moment...soooo the Retina display is unfortunately not an option for me.
Which is also a big bummer.but i think i can get over it...or beg someone to loan me an extra $200 lol
    Someone....Annnnyyyone....Pleeeeease....Heeelllllllp....
    Thanks

Just play with each and figure out which one you want. I believe they only allow 1 exchange unless it is a defect issue. You can always return the exchanged item and rebuy what you want if they will not allow you to do multiple exchanges.
But again, you need to really figure out which one you want.

  • How many times can you transfer music

    Hi,
Over the last few years we have had laptops breaking down and have had to transfer music and I was wondering how many times can you transfer from computer to another computer?
Please help because at the moment I am slightly confused!

Once you no longer use a machine, you are deactivating the iTunes library on that computer, right?
You have 5 total simultaneous activations per music library managed by a single Apple ID. As long as you deactivate unused systems, within that limit of 5, you can transfer at will.

  • How many times can I watch a TV Show I've purchased?

  • How many times can you transfer itunes to ipod?

After I accidentally erased my itunes from my ipod i tried to re-transfer them from itunes library. Can I do this more than 1 time or is one time the limit on songs purchased from itunes?

Songs purchased on the iTunes Music Store can be copied to an unlimited number of computers. However, only five computers at a time can play your purchased music. There is no limit on how many times a song is transferred to your iPod as you do not need to authorise your iPod just the computer that it links to.

  • How many times can I burn a song to CD?

It's been a while, but I read somewhere, that there is a limit to how many times you can burn a song off your Library. I understand the reason for that. I think it said something like 7 times?? I have an iPod, and normally transfer my playlists to it. I change my playlists frequently, so if I were to burn these to CD, I'd have long ago used up my limit.
I have a nice CD player in my Jeep now. I can't hook my iPod to it, so I want to burn some playlists to CD for my Jeep stereo. Do I need to be careful, not to exceed a certain allowance?...or am I just in error, and there is no need to worry?
Was this limit in regards to an entire Album? and single songs in a ever changing playlist is okay?

Is there a way to check to see if a song is DRM protected?
I have been reading what I can on the subject, and it appears I can expect the songs I've purchased from iTunes online, like my AC/DC albums, Scorpions Albums, and Zappa, etc. and etc. are going to be DRM protected.
Maybe I should have bought these Albums elsewhere...but...(shrug)
I have many Celine Albums and Satriani, Heart, etc. that I purchased elsewhere.
Really, the bulk of my Library is made up of songs from CD's I've imported into my Library. I've looked for some evidence of this DRM protection, and I don't see anything..other than an FBI copy theft warning.
Finally, I guess I am a tad bit confused still. I understand any of my songs DRM protected, if I use them in a playlist, any playlist 7 times.. I will be limited now, to only 7 downloads to a CD. That does cause me to rethink how I wish to make playlists.
Am I right to assume now...any song in my playlists that are not under this DRM grip, I will not have to fear using them in a playlist?
On one hand I understand the reasons for protection...and it has nothing to do with decent folks like us. But what irritates me...is I paid for that music...and I should be able to make CD playlists as often as I want....live and learn.
I suppose I should never invest my money on Albums or songs as downloads over the internet. Just go buy the CD?...right?
