Copying Results from Production to Despatch

Dear Experts,
We have configured result copying from one inspection lot to another inspection lot.
Now our required need to be changed:
when we are selecting inspection lot [Source - whcih results need to be copied] system has to propose BATCH instead inspection lot.
Now system is proposing inspection lot, but we want batch to be proposed.
Please let us know which setting need to be done ?

Sorry, but the field referred to is for informational purposes only. It does not actually DO anything. The qutoe below is from the config help file on the values displayed in the field mentioned.
In this step, you can define inspection result origins for inspection
characteristics.
The user can specify a results origin during results recording, as long
as the inspection characteristic has the status "in process". The
results origin entry is a source of information only.
In addition to the description of the results origin, you can also
choose a data source for the inspection results. If you specify the
results origin during inspection planning for an inspection
characteristic, the inspection results for the affected characteristic
characteristic are taken from this data source.
You can look at the business add-in for "Selection of Results Data for Copy of Insp. Results" but all the provided functionality is for reading from exisitng inspection lots or mapping to externally provided data. You may be able to provide your own development in here but you'll need the assistance of an experienced APAP'er.

Hi,
I dont think SAP has provided any feature to copy job.
Check the details of job scheduled in prodution & goto SM36 in Test system to create your own job with same details.

Batch Number Not copied over from Production order to Confirmation

Dear Experts,
In the production order, I specify the batch # for the components. But when I do the confirmation, the batch number for the components is not getting copied over.
Can anyone suggest what has to be done.

Dario, I have not saved my confirmation. But when I execute CO11N and go to "Goods Movement" tab, I expect the Batch to be copied from the production order for the components. But the batch field is Blank.
How do we make the batch field to be copied over from the production order.

Purchase and sales flow resulting from 'production in other plant'.

Dear all,
When using the procurement type 'P' (production in other plant), materials are consumed in plant A and goods receipts from production order happens in plant B.
When plants A and B belong to different company codes, SAP generates a cross-company document. Within the receiving company, the offsetting account for the stock account is the cross-company clearing account.
This posting is generally not sufficient as legal and tax requirements ask for a sales and purchasing flow between the 2 company codes. Therefore many companies need to 'develop a solution' to complete this posting 'after the facts'.
Does anybody know whether this additional posting exists under the form of an 'add-on' or additional solution to the standard made available by one or another partner of SAP ? Note that the starting point for this question is important : our company wants to use the 'production in other plant' flow because the native purchase and sales flows are too much time consuming.

Hi all,
I want to be a bit more accurate here :
The produced material in plant B has a special procurement type code (MARC-SOBSL) which in its definition contains procurement type E (BESKZ) and special procurement P (ESOBS). It is special procurement P that triggers the 'production in other plant' behaviour. The production plant (WRK02) is also specified in the definition of the special procurement type code.

Copying Scripts from Production to Development server...

I have a script by name YRSCRIPT_INV in production server.I have a script in Development server with the same name, But i want the script in the production to be copied to the client with someother name.Is it possible to do that?

You have a script with the same name in both production and development .Do you want to copy from prd to dev or dev to prd ? What ever it is , just copy it with a newname and assign the transport request name to the new form and then you can transport it .

Copy PC from production to dev system

Hi Friends,
I have PC(process chain) created in prodcution environment only. Now i want to copy it to developement enviroment. What are the ways for copying?
One more thing because of urgency, did some settings in prodcution system like infopakage settings,changed dtp setting for running in background to foreground, activation of transfer & update rules(becoz of transportation deactivated). For all these requests were created. Now if we want all settings to be reflected in development system, how to proceed further?

You are in which System (BI Version), There is no need to transport the Process chain in BIW 3.5,
Just Go in Transport Connection in Administrative Workbench (RSA1) at Left Bottom, there in Trasport Connection you will see Object Changeability Option at the right Side.
Click on that, after that you will see a list of Objects
Select the following Objects
RSPC - Process Chain
RSPT - Process Chain Starter
RSPV - Process Variants
at the Right side of these Objects you will see options Not Changeable or Everything Chnageable.
Make Sure that this is Everything Chnageable for these Objects.
Now you can create the Process chain in production System directly. No need to transport.

Copy queries and reports from production to qa

One of our customers has up to now created their BEx queries and reports directly in production
But from now on they are going to create them in dev and then transport to qa and prod.
Is there any way to transport the already existing queries/reports from prod to qa?

Hello,
You have to set up the transport ( Your BASIS can prepare transport landscape ) to bring the query transported from Prod to test environment
But you can copy Workbooks from Production to develpment.Open the workbook from Production ,disconnect from server,then save as new workbook or existing workbook..now log into Dev system and save workbook under required role.

Dear Friend
There is No Feature available to copy Samply/Result and the same to copy in another sample.
But if u want to copy your Sample from your previos form (assume sample no : 001 which is already saved) follow the points to copy only Sample (previouse one) and YOU NEED TO ENTER THE RESULTS WHICH CAN NOT BE COPIED.
1. Assume you enter the Sample no. 001 and enter the result against this sample and saved.
2. Go to Sample Form
3 Query the Sample no. that is 001
4. Click New
5.Go to Edit in Main Header of the form
6. Click Duplicate
7. Select "Record above" (here your previos record that is Sample 001 will be copied with the SAMPLE NO. and Here you need to change the Sample No (since it will not allow to save bcz of duplicate record)
8 Next do as how you followed for your Sample 001. that is Change Sample no/Get spec/Save/Enter Result.
Note: HERE U CAN NOT COPY YOUR RESULTS....BUT U NEED TO ENTER.

How to copy master data backwards from production to QA

Hello BI community,
Our transactional QA system was refreshed with a database copy of production, and the BW landscape was not refreshed. We cannot refresh the BW QA system because the production BW database is far too large to be duplicated.
So I'm searching for a way to bring all of the MASTER DATA up to date in the BW QA environment, without performing manual reloads.
Would it be possible to perform a copy of just the P,Q, X, Y, and T tables from production database to QA ? I believe this would cause inconsistencies with the S tables. But then, to copy the S tables backwards from production to QA would cause inconsistencies with the transational data providers.
Is it possible to do a "client copy" in BW where only the master data is transferred ? I think we'd be comfortable with reloading all new transactional data as necessary, just as long as the master data were brought back in its entirety from production to QA.
Any thoughts our guidance will be greatly appreciated !

The reason why we don't load the data from BW production is simply a matter of volume. It's a 7 TB data warehouse, and the master data sizes are huge.
One other option I was thinking of, since I used to be a basis guy, is to copy the entire production database and then delete, delete, delete away the transactional data until it's all gone. The only thing needed after that is a database real work to give the space back. Of course, the basis guy see that as a last resort
I'll try this suggestion above & then report back with the results... but I'm afraid the data sizes, again, will be prohibitive. We'll see.

How did the photos that you want to copy off get on the iPad ? To copy photos to your computer that were taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites then see this page - on a Mac you should be able to use iPhoto, Aperture or Image Capture
To copy photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app on your iPad such as Simple Transfer which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to the iPad, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.

How do I copy text from a Spotlight search result quicklook window?

Is it possible to copy text from the quicklook windows that appear when you hover over a Spotlight search result? It would be useful to be able to copy, say, a phone number or email address straight from the address book card that appears in Spotlight. The only options I see are to display the text in large type and to Facetime (for phone numbers) and to perform mapping functions for addresses; simple copying seems to be disabled for some reason.
I am using Spotlight in OS 10.7.5.

First you have to customizing the functionality of Copy of Inspection Results using the following path, where you have to entry the inspection types, plant .etc., where you want to have the functionality.
SPRO -> Quality Management -> Quality Inspection -> Make Settings for Copy of Inspection Results
Then when you are in Record Result screen you select Menu -> Edit -> Copy Inspection Results ,
then a pop-up window is displayed and you filled in with the inspection lot which has the results and then another pop-up window is displayed to select the characteristics that you want to copy.

At the time of delivery , the system will create an inspection lot.
To make delivery we need to carry out RR and UD once again.
Can we copy inspection results of inspection type (04) to inspection type 10 , as we are maintaining the same results of inspection type (04). Also can we sit as background whenever a lot is created with lot origin(10) , automatically it has to copy the results from inspection type 04 .

And the materials are not batch manged.
Is there any possibility of copying the results of 04 inspection lot to inspection type 10 lot , which is created at the time of PGI.
Because untill and unless RR and UD is made sales people will be not able to make the delivery . if there are multiple lots , it takes
time for them to carry out RR and UD.

Have anybody copied Queries from "Test" database to "Production database?

I am looking for the best method to copy queries from one database to another. From TEST to PRODUCTION. Other than Copy Express or Copy/Past, is there another recommended approach? Such as within SQL?

Copying anything from database A to database B using SQL, means somehow using SQL command "Insert". Please note that commands like Insert, Update, Delete are NOT SUPPORTED as it might cause data corruption.

Mass Copy directory contents and permissions from production to test server

am using SUNOS5.8.
I found out there is a discrepency between the production and test environments.
The discrepency is only with folder and subfolders contained in /admin/bin/myfolder.
The production environment is more up to date and the test environment is lagging behind.
I want to make both the environments same, as they should be.
Is there a single command in Unix that will overwrite existing folders/files in test server and copy everything including permissions starting from /admin/bin/myfolder from production server to test server?
Please also give examples of how to user the command?

I have come to know there are various tools available:
rsh
rcp
rdist
rsync
scp
sftp
ftp
ftp is a very tedious tool to copy all directory contents one by one.
cd DirA
mv * /path/to/DirB
This method is also not a very preferable one.
