Copying the numbers from the calculator widget.

Is it me, or it is impossible to copy the numbers from the calculator widget in 10.6.3?

It happened again! I don't understand!
I did a test: I restarted the computer. I typed in the calculator. Copied, and pasted in Mail. Worked fine.
After, I opened Illustrator CS3. Copied something from there, and pasted it in Flash. Worked fine.
After, I went back to the calculator, copied the numbers, and when I pasted the numbers in Mail, it's Illustrator's graphics that pasted instead of the numbers.
After, I went on the net, copied text from a site. Pasted it in Mail. Worked fine. Went back to the calculator, copied, and the pasted text was the text from the Website, and not from the calculator.
This is very frustrating!
Any idea on my problem?

I've been running Leopard for months now but only today i needed to copy from Calculator widget and found that "cmd+c" is not working i.e. it doesn't copy what is displayed to the buffer - Pasting from the buffer into the calculator (cmd+v) works, but not the other way...

How do I use the calculator widget in another window? For ex: if I want to move the calculator to a window that shows prices of products on a web page. I used to be able to click on the calculator and use it in another window, before I upgraded to OSX. What am i doing wrong?

I think you have to bring it back up in widgets in a new window, you can set up a hot corner to make tis qciker

My calc widget is acting up. Whenever I press a number, it comes back with double digits. i.e. i press 8 once, i get 88. I have deleted the plist files, but still no luck.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

try deleting the widget and bringing it back within dashboard by hitting the minus sign (or holding down option while hovering over the widget)
then hit the plus sign and add it back.
this might be an issue with your keyboard or mac.
have you tried resetting the PRAM

That would be a good question for Panasonic...
If the system does not support the PBAP, you can't import them from the phone. If it does, ALL contacts will be uploaded automatically.

Blog Address not working in the RSS Widget

I just updated to iWeb '09 and am trying to put my blog address into my website using the RSS Widget. However, it seems that the widget won't accept the address saying "The RSS feed source can't be reached" Am I missing something?

Another minor bug - calculator widget in notification center

Love the notification center and the addition of new widgets. I'm trying to phase out dash board in that way.
The only problem is the calculator widget appears, but none of the buttons works -- it's completely unusable. I've tried removing and reinstalling it, same result. Any ideas? Thanks.

No it wasn't, but I have to add that I just forced quit notification center from the activity monitor and the calculator started working again once notification center relaunched. In other words, problem solved for now. I'm a little worried this will be one like the other small problems I've had that goes in and out, but for now I'm ok. Thanks!

It sounds like the calculator widget is installed on your computer - which is good news!
The screenshots and information on the addon's page are a little out of date, but you should see a calculator button near the top-right of your Firefox window. I've attached a screenshot of how it looks for me.
If you're not seeing that calculator icon, the first thing to do would be to check that the widget is enabled. Here's how:
# Open the Addons Manager - > Extensions.
# Find the FBA Calculator Widget in the list. Make sure that it isn't greyed out and doesn't have the word ''(disabled)'' in the title. If it does, click the ''Enable'' button.
# The calculator icon should appear near the top-right of the screen.
If the widget is enabled but you still can't see the icon, the icon might be hidden. Here's how to unhide it:
# Click the [[Image:New Fx Menu]] button at the top-right of the screen and then click ''Customise''
# Under ''Additional Tools and Features'', you should see the FBA Calculator icon
# Drag the FBA calculator icon onto the row of icons at the top-right of your screen, or into your Firefox menu on the right-hand side of the screen
# Click ''Exit customise''

Number keypad doesn't work on calculator widget

I am not sure why, but my number keypad is no longer working. It works on regular documents, but not on the calculator widget. How do I fix this?

I then copy the photos from her flash drive onto my computer and load them in my LR. The photos appear but witthout any editing or tagging. We need to be able to have her working on the photos on her computer with her copy of LR and me on my computer with my version of LR being able to access what is already tagged and given back to me. This seems hard. We need advice on if it is at all possible to have two computers simultaneously working on LR . I bought her her own version because I was told at the time of purchasing that that was the only way to share. Please advise urgently! Thanks.

Sounds like your assistant isn't instructing Lightroom to write the tagging and editing to the files themselves, so wehn the files return to you, they don't have editing and tagging information. She need to select the photos in Lightroom and then Ctrl-S (Cmd-S on Mac). Or alternatively turn on the option to autmoatically write this information to the files.
If you are using RAW photos, then this information will be written to a sidecar XMP file, and your assistant must provide you with the sidecar file. If these photos are not RAW photos, then the information is written directly into the photo file itself.
Lightroom wasn't designed to be a multi-user program, and so it is truly not possible to have two people working on the same catalog at once. The way you are doing things, as modified above, is probably the way to go.
As an alternative, you can transfer (portions of) catalogs as well as photos back and forth and then all of these issues disappear, but a catalog might be rather large for a flash drive (or maybe not, it depends)

I have tried changing the cell formats for that column from "automatic" to "text", but that doesn't fix it. Is there a way to copy/paste this information without changing the original characters?

If you know how many rows/columns you are planning to paste, then make the table that big BEFORE you paste. In addition select all cells in the table by selecting any cell, then type the key combination <COMMAND>+a (for select all.
Then use the cells inspector to make the cells formatted as text:

When I copy the Numbers spreadsheet calendar to the body of an email message, it loses all borders and formats and looks like a word salad. I need to paste it into the email message because my recipients are unable to open an attachment. Please help me find a solution. I am a new MAC user.

You can't change the behavior of copy/paste when the destination is unaware of the Numbers specs.
I know that the mail.app available under Mac Os X 10.5 is able to do some kinds of formatting but
(a) I don't know which
(b) I don't know how they are reflected if the target program is not the same mail.app.
