Copying variants & Layouts from 4.7 to ECC 6.0

Hi All,
Upgrading Client system from 4.7 to ECC 6.0. The 4.7 server would have its own variants and layout for different objects.
How do I copy those variants and layouts to my ECC 6.0 server?

Hello prashant,
SPDA_GET_STACK_INFO will check wether all PATCH prerequisites are met or not your ST related level is not up to the required level.
Please check this requirement up the level of STand run it agin.

Copy express not copying print layouts from one database to another

Hi,
We are using SAP business one 8.8 PL 10 and we are not able to copy print layouts to another company database using copy express.
We tick the necessary settings on the copy express and everything runs okay but when you login into the target company you cannot see the extra print layouts there.
The copy express was working okay before the upgrade from SAP Business one 2007A to the current version.
What might be the problem?

Do it once again but this time select Replace All function and replace all the print layouts.

Copy variant characteristics from Sales Order/Item to Production Order

Dear All,
I have a requirement wherein I have to copy variant characteristics fromSales Order/Item to Production Order. In this regard I was looking at Enhancement "CLFM0002". Is it possible to copy the variant characteristics automatically from the Sales Order/Item to Production Order?

If you are implementing Variant Configuration, or using configurable material in that case you will have to maintain
Characteristics in CT04
Classes in CL02
Configuration Profile CU41
The material that you are mentioning must have class and charcteristics activated or mentioned in material master. undre classification view. In production you maintain Configurable material BOM we will be using the same material

Copying custom fields from SRM PO to ECC PO standard fields

Hi All,
There are three custom fields which are added in SRM SC and PO at item level. My requirement is to map these three custom fields to three standard fields in ECC PO. Can any one please explain me, how the replication of SRM PO to ECC PO happens? I could find a function module "B470_PO_CREATE". Can any one tell me through which transaction or program this FM will be triggered.

Sorry for the late reply. I have the solution for this question.
For copying the custom fields code is to be written in the BADI "BBP_ECS_PO_OUT_BADI", method "BBP_B46B_PO_OUTBOUND". This BADI has both ECC PO fields and all the SRM fields(including the custom fields added in PO and SC) in separate structures.IS_HEADER, IT_ITEM etc has all the SRM PO values. CS_BAPI_POHEADER, CT_BAPI_POITEM etc has ECC PO values.
There are two function modules, BBP_PD_PO_TRANSFER_EXEC and BBP_PD_PO_TRANSFER_EXEC_V2. Execute these function modules with the GUID for PO after PO change or create in SRM system. Once the FM is executed the BADI will be triggered and the additional functionality carried out and PO replication from SRM to ECC happens.

Copy report layout from one report to another

I have a VERY complex report layout which is part of a report with Data model A. I need to copy that report layout to another report which has Data model B, which has all the same structure as Data model A but is queried differently. The first is invoices for regular billing the second is invoices for re-billing, all columns are the same.

In the Report Organizer, just right click and Export the definition. Then, open the new company & right click and import the definition.

Copy Layout from FBL3N to FAGLL03

There are "N" numbers of user specific layouts created by the users in the transaction code FBL3N.
I would like to know if there is any process of copying these Layout from FBL3N to FAGLL03.

I am not logged in.... Please ask the user to login as eranh ... go to the TCode where he/she saved the layout ... open it and the change the properties from Only for the specific user to Default/global. Then login as eranh2 ... now it will be visible to the new id. If you don't want to use this as global / default layout (the exact tech term may differ) then it can be changed to specific for the user id eranh2.

hi to all experts ,
I need to copy a program from 4.7 to ecc 6.0. in 4.7 it is working fine but in ecc 6.0
i m getting runtime error that ' The ABAP program lines are wider than the internal table.'
Runtime error look like this:
There was an attempt to read program "Zxxxxxx" from the database.
The READ REPORT statement allows you to copy a program text into an
internal table. The occupied line length in the program text must not
exceed the width of the internal table.
The internal table "\FUNCTION=K_KKB_FIELDCAT_MERGE\DATA=L_ABAP_SOURCE[]" is 72
characters wide. The program line is
92 characters wide.
As it is very urgent , pls.help me in this regard

Even i am having the same issue in my ALV report .
I had a comment note of 4 lines which was exceeding more than 72 characters ,
However for the first 2/3times , the report worked fine as i tested. But later it threw the same error as * READ REPORT..*
Now i made all the lines to max 72 charcters. and its working fine ..
But my doubt is hw it was working fine when at the first time , line size exceeded 72 chars ,.,

How do I copy the same app folder layouts from one device to another? We have a several iphones and ipads.

It's a challenge when syncing a device for the first time to go through all the apps and apply them back to the same folders as on your other iphone.
I've seen suggestions of taking pictures of the correct layout, then manually applying it to the new device. Big time waister.
What's the work around?

I'm afraid there is no short workaround. One thing that you could do if you were REALLY desperate is reset your device to factory settings and then restore it from your other device's backup, but that is rather risky and you probably don't want to take your chances just for folder layouts. I would just do it manually.

How to copy/send text file from FTPS to SAP ECC File Port

I am working on one design, actually my requirement as follows
I am receiving financial information document from Banks, which is in the form of BIA2 message format, it looks like text file. This information needs to be sending to SAP ECC system.
I identified some approaches to full fill the requirement
1)Using Conversion agent/or third party tools to convert BIA2 message in to XML, then using PI I will pick up the XML message, convert it in to IDoc.
2)Without any conversion I will copy the same file (original BIA2 message) in to SAP ECC file port, in this case no conversion required, calling some program I will schedule it.
I am looking forward t implement the second approach because it saves lot of money to my client.
Now I am wondering using File adapter can i copy to SAP ECC File Port or I required ABAP proxy?
What is the best approach to copy the BIA message text file from FTPS to SAP ECC File Port.??

Yes you can do this copy, the only restriction that can happen is the file size.. If you are sure that the fiel will be of few MB at the max then you can use the Configuration part alone and copy it to ECC folder. For doing this you need the following:
1. Sender agreement (mention the sender interface as anything XYZ)
2. Sender communication channel. Pick the file in binary mode
3. Receiver determination (keep both the sender and receiver service as same)
4. Interface Detemiantion (dont specify any mapping and keep the receiver interface name as XYZ)
5. Create receiver agreement (with same service and interface)
6. Use file adapter here

Layouts disappear after upgrade from 4.6c to ECC 6.0

In the upgrade from 4.6c to ECC 6.0 , the layouts in the SAP QUERIES in the new system are either lost or showing lesser fields than original system .How do get the exact layouts as in 4.6c?

Copy Express - Copying Print Layout Designs from one company to another

Dear All,
i was wondering if one of you on the forum could help me with copy express.
I understand through the DIAPI, you cannot code to copy print layout designs, and if you copy the fields through SQL, SAP will no longer support the database.
It is the first time using Copy Express and am very confused about what to do.
Could someone post a step by step was of saving a design and then copying from one database to another.

You can do this......
Go to PLDs and save a different copy of every PLDs by making Save as and then try to copy such PLDs.
I also encountered such problem and I tried the same I suggest you.
So try once.....

Copying ALV variants/layouts between programs

Hi guys,
Does anyone know how to copy ALV layouts between programs in the same client? I have created a copy of a report which uses the ALV functionality via the REUSE_* function modules. The original report has over 40 layouts, so I don't want to have to re-create them manually in the new program. These programs are in the same client on the same system, so the Import Layout and Transport Layout options aren't going to be of any use (as far as I can see...)
Any ideas greatly appreciated.

I took this approach and it worked for me:
1) Change your program so that everytime an ALV function is called it is using the original program name in the variant declaration, ensure you keep the original code commented out, you will need to put it back later. Examples:
FORM variant_init USING varname TYPE slis_vari.
CLEAR g_variant.
g_variant-report = g_repid.
g_variant-report = 'ORIGINAL_PROGRAM_NAME'.
FORM f4_for_variant.
g_variant-report = sy-repid.
g_variant-report = ORIGINAL_PROGRAM_NAME.
CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_F4'
FORM check_variant.
IF NOT p_vari IS INITIAL.
g_variant-report = sy-repid.
g_variant-report = ORIGINAL_PROGRAM_NAME.
g_variant-variant = p_vari.
CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_VARIANT_EXISTENCE'
2) Display function lt_variant_save via SE37, set a breakpoint at the first executable line:
perform variant_save tables it_fieldcat
4) Run your program with the layout variant you wish to copy.
5) Hit Save Variant. You are now in debug mode.
6) Enter variable CS_VARIANT-REPORT in the variables 1 panel.
7) Double-click on CS_VARIANT-REPORT.
8) Hit the Change Field Content button
9) Change the value to the name of your new program, then hit Enter.
10) Hit Execute (F8). You have now saved the variant under your new program name.
11) Exit and rerun your program as necessary for as many variants as you want to copy
12) Change your program back to using sy-repid (or whatever else it was referencing) wherever you changed it in step 1.
13) The variants have now been copied and you can run your program with the new variants.

SAPSCRIPT copied from 4.6C to ECC 6 - errors while testing

Hi I have used program (RSTXSCRP) to import SAPSCRIPT from 4.6c to ECC 6.
After i copied i did activated.
When i am trying to test the form I am getting an error saying FORM (it removed first character from my Z sapscript name and saying the remaining name) (FORMNAME) does not exists and no errors.
Any one had gone through the same issue.
