just downloaded Oracle Database 11gr2
when i try to install i receive the following errors one after another

specify ans existing template for database creationThere seems to be some error in the log which says that it cannot find the Template, Please check the response file for TEMPLATENAME tag.
another reason could be you could have downloaded the incorrect software. can you check that the installation file you downloaded is for windows 32 bit.

Sorry Friends, for my last long.....long...Post.....
Here , i m reposting the same matter...Please help.
We are trying to Install SAP NW PI 7.0 on Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition x64, with Oracle 10.2 - 64bit Edition.
On this host, we already have installed SAP NW CE 7.1 with the same Oracle 10.2
SAP NW CE 7.1 is working fine on this Host.
First, we tried to install SAP NW PI 7.0 with jdk 1.4.2.16(32 bit), which was giving the error, while installation using SAPInst. So We installed jdk 1.5.0.15 (64 bit), at own risk. But, the Installation was interrupted due to some unknown error something like "SDM failed to deploy some components...etc....etc.". So, we installed jdk 1.6.0.6( which is perfect for Windows x64). With this , jdk 1.6.0.6 the last problem did not come and we reached at 9th step (of total 98th step of SAP NW PI 7.0 Installation), and was at "Prepare to install minimal Configuration", and controling START and STOP of System. Bu We found that, the System was not able to even start, at that 95th Phase.
After that, we did lot of R&Ds to come out from the trouble.

My Problem is solved.
Actually, in our PC, total 2 SATA Harddisks are installed and , u know that, Control Files of Oracle Instance is created & maintained ,simultaneously, at different location.
One of th HDD , was suddenly dismounted ,due to some technical reasons. origlogA and origlogB are maintained on other (rather than System HDD).
The problems related to version inconsistency of distributed CONTROL FIles occured while working, due to sudden dismount of other HDD.
While the last stage of installation of SAP NW PI 7.0, the START and STOP of PI Server was occurred, but due to previously mentioned error, the Oracle instance (PI1) was not able to start, as the version of Control files was mismatched.
I just notice the alert_PI1.log file , in which this Error was noticed.
I just took one of the earlier version of Control File (that i thought was stable) from one of the location, and copied to the required location.
Then again I tried to restart the Oracle instance of PI1. It worked normally , and the PI1 Server started normally .
Then, I resume the Installation of SAP NW PI 7.0, to complete those last 3-4 steps. The installation completed successfully with JDK 1.6.0.9 (for Windows x64 platform).

The errors you are recieving are most likely user or permissions
related.
Can you please verify that there are 777 permissions on the
installation directories? Also are you installing as User Root?
Are you installing from an NFS Mount or network drive? If so it could be
possible that the user does not have enough permissions on this. If
so I recommend copying the installation files to a local directory and
retrying the installation from there.

Have a question on an RMAN error we are getting and wondering if anyone else has done anything like this and seen this error.
We have had an SR open since 8/30 with no resolution yet though the SR is a standard severity as this problem is not severe and we can work around it. Our opinion is that what we are trying to do should work without error.
Environment Details. I do not suspect this matters as I have reproduced this on Solaris and linux as well as DB versions 11.2.0.3, 10.2.0.4 and 10.2.0.5

Steps to Reproduce some of these can be skipped I was just documenting
everything I did for the SR to reproduce the issue.
*1) Create simple database via DBCA*
Create directories to hold the copy and the full backup.
I used the following directories.
/oracle/oradata for the database
/oracle/RMAN for the copy
/oracle/RMAN_FULL_SID for the backup
/oracle/IRMAN for incremental that is later applied to DB
*2) Create a copy of the database into /oracle/RMAN directory*
backup incremental level 0 as copy db_file_name_convert=('/oracle','/oracle/RMAN') reuse
database tag="SCOTTTEST"
verify copy with 'list copy of database' if you want to
*3) Do backup just to establish a baseline for incremental. (this one not really relevant)*
backup incremental level 0 tag "SCOTTSFULL" fORMAT

Here is where issue happens.
Start 2 sessions into rman at this point
one for number 5 and one for number 6.
Start number 5 running and wait for the channel ORA_DISK_1: starting piece message.. then run #6
*5) Start backup of that copy with filesperset 1 to force multiple backupsets.*
The filesperset clause is not set to 1 in our production databases but the backups
are much bigger there and obviously take longer. The use of filesperset is just
to reproduce the issue on a much smaller database.
This has to take longer than #6 and there has to be a channel finishing a set of files and
starting on a new file after #5 is complete.

There are some work arounds that do work and avoid the error.
1) Set filesperset large enough to cover all the files in
the DB (in above example change filesperset to 15 no error will be reported)
2) allocate enough channels to ensure that you cover all the files in the database
3) Don't run the recover of the copy while a full backup is running.
4) Don't run the backup on the copy but backup the original DB.
The situation in our production DB is this.
We want to recover the copy every 3 hours keeping ourselves no longer than 3 hours out of date
with the main database.
every couple of days we do an incremental level 0 of the copy which on our bigger databases
can take more than 3 hours.
These level 0's fail if they run longer than 3 hours.
The answers on the SR so far have been to increase filesperset to a huge number and don't
run them at the same time. The reason they are giving us is that we are not getting a consistent backup
because the files are being recovered while the backup runs.
The problem I have with that reasoning is that if you choose options 1 and 2 above that do stop the error
the recovery is still running while the backup is and the files are still changing so in that case the
files are not consistent either but no error is thrown. Am I thinking about this completely wrong?
We feel that those are not good solutions with what we are trying to do and wonder if anyone
else has tried to do this type of thing with any success?
My suspicion on what is happening is that during the start of the level 0 backup RMAN grabs a list
of files with their id's to backup. The recovery actually marks files deleted and adds a new file with
a new id in the controlfile/catalog metadata (I forget the table at the moment) . Once RMAN finishes a
set of files/file it tries to move on to the rest and cannot find a file with the same id that is
not deleted anymore so throws the not valid error.We want to recover the copy every 3 hours keeping ourselves no longer than 3 hours out of date
with the main database.Sometimes you need to redesign your strategy. If the above line is your target, you should consider other solutions such as Active/Standby Dataguard replication. Why go through backup and recovery on a remote site, when you can ship the archivelogs to remote destination and have the logs applied, thus keeping both sites up-to-date.

This problem seems to come up quite often, I guess you are installing 10g version of SOA Suite.
You did not mention, whether the installation failed or you are stuck at some step of installation.

I get this error while installation of addon.
An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007000B)
My code works fine when executed directly from Visual Studio. But when i build the addon and try to install it, i get this error.
The server is 64 Bit. is it making any difference?

Laks.look at sdk forum, there is a lot of explanation for this.
From visual studio you are using diferent connection string than in addon and for addon you must create separately instal file (not only compiled as exe from vs)
In sdk samples is example for addon creating, look at that.

many of the files in installtion folder are missing. This will happen when you copy the installable file from some where paste it and then execute...
It happened to me when I copied the installable files to my pendrive and after some days I copied the files in pendrive, paste in local system and then tried to execute.
when I did this by downloading from sdn or market place it worked fine.

I installed Oracle Linux 6.1 under VirtualBox (hosted on a Windows 7 box).
All is well and I began to install Oracle 11g for Linux, but ran into this error:
Error in invoking target 'mkldflags ntcontab.o nnfgt.o' of makefile '/home/Roy/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/network/lib/ins_net_client.mk'. while installing 11gr2 client on Linux x86-64 bit serverWhen I dug into the logs, the error was this:

Dtabase version error while installation
Hi,
I am installing BAM in 2003 server with oracle Database XE which have 10.2.0.1 version.
But its giving me the below error while installation:
Database version should be 9.2.0.7 or higher , 10.1.0.5 or highers, 10.2.0.2 or higher .
Please suggest me on the same.

Thanks for the suggestion, now my issue has been resolved.
I did the installation of DataBase and BAM again after deleting its all previous entries from Oracle home.
It accept that version only and working fine.
