Copying xorg.conf from another distro

This may or may not be a silly question, but it's an honest one.
On my desktop, I just installed Arch Linux, and already have Debian on another partition. Would it be safe to copy my xorg.conf from Debian, or would this cause issues on Arch?
I tried searching the net, but wasn't quite sure what to search for, so I ended up getting junk for search results.

If both Xorg versions are identical, then the xorg.conf will work flawlessly, once all proper drivers and packages are installed..

Xorg.conf from debian won't work in Arch on the same machine!

I can't get arch up and running. My keyboard and mouse won't respond to input once it hit startx and enter.
I copied the xorg.conf from the debian install before I decided to wipe the disk clean and install arch. It is here:http://pastebin.com/m6870dc21

Arch uses versions that leave it to hal to hotplugg keyboard and mouse, if you don't explicitly disable this feature. Mount external drivers could be related to /etc/PolicyKit/PolicyKit.conf. I had to add the following to mine:

If I remember it right, this depends on what desktop solution you've chosen. I did use xfce when adding those lines, and I kept thunar while using Awesome.

How do you copy the templates from another webstie and use them as your own?

This is difficult to understand. How are you copying templates from another site?
If you have all the files that make up the template, then it's only a matter of saving all the files to a folder on your hard drive and setting up a site definition pointing to this folder. You then work on the files as usual.

Without seeing the page it's difficult to judge what your problem is. If possible, please upload the files to a remote server and provide a link to the page. It's the only way people can help - if they see your page in action.

Copy one GL From another GL through FS00

Hi,
when we are copying one GL from 1000 Company Code to another Company code 1068 through FS00 doing Copying in Same Client,GL Created in 1068 but when we change the GL name text in 1068 the same has been also change in 1000. it will create problem, kindly suggest.

To copy GL accounts use T-Code OBY7 / OBY2 according to the requirement.

How to copy Bex queires from another multi provider

I developed one new multi provider in dev box, i need to developed some queries on this multi provider but same queries having another multi provider.
finally i need copy some exesting queries to another new multoprovider with different technical name? how to do that?

RSZC allows to copy queries from one cube/mutlirprovider to another cube/mutliprovider having same structure..
if not you use the below procedure to copy between multiproviders of differnt structures.
Function Module Name : -      RSZ_I_COPY_QRY_TO_CUBE
Step :- 1
     Open the Function Module in se37.
Step :- 2
     Set break point in the line below.
IF l_subrc <> 0 OR l_is_compliant = rs_c_false.
     Itu2019s the check just below Infocube compliance check.
Step :- 3
     Run the FM.
Step :- 4
     Give the inputs for source infocube and target infocube.
Step :- 5
     It takes you to the breakpoint set in the FM.
Change the value of l_is_compliant to u2018Xu2019 in the Variable screen.
Hit F8.
Step :- 6
     The system takes you to the select component screen.
     Select the query and transfer.
Step :- 7
It now leads to Rename component screen. Rename the query as per naming convention.
     Hit Enter.
Step :- 8
You see a lot of error messages because of the incompatibility of the cubes. Just scroll down in the log to end. Your query copy message should be in green. If it is green that shows the query was copied
Once the query is copied , you need to open the query on the target multiprovider and then you need to save in eitther cases..whether using RSZC of same source/target structures or using the above procedure for non simialar strcutures.

Error message [3569-3] when copying landed costs from another landed costs

I tried to correct already existing landed cost by creating another landed costs and copy from the original one.
When add the document I have got the Error message [3569-3] and I am not able to find where the problem is.

sorry for the pictures in local language. This question has been created during my holiday and I had no chance to log in my customer environment so I modified the documentation from my original file.
Nevertheless I thing that I discovered the problem: The correction by using u201Ccopy from landed costsu201Dcannot be full (I mean not 1:1 with the original one).
I made reasonable changes then everything worked properly.

Xorg.conf file after install? Where?

I know this is probably the worst question to ask but I couldn't find anything in the search for it. I just installed Arch (using a .7 CD) with an FTP install and naturally it chose the xorg7 version. His XServer starts alright but I noticed we both can't seem to find the xorg.conf file... usually it's in the /etc/X11/ folder (I think that's where it is on mine at home.)
The mouse, screen and almost everything works but for the life of me I can't find this configuration file. Does it use defaults if one doesn't exist or perhaps it's somewhere I'm not looking? Any advice would be appreciated as it isn't using the nvidia glx drivers but the basic nv.

(Forgot to mention I'm used to using the X.org 6 version on my home PC and just trying to figure this out before I upgrade to 7.)

You'll want to be carefull about that with xorg7. The path locations will change then. It may be better to generate a new one and copy in the difference in options.

Copying position value from one layer to another

This is Pierluig, from Italy.
I'm a noob in after effect scripting language, but not so new to programming
Anyway, this is the question:
I have a composition with one layer on it. let's say firstlayer.
The layer has two effects on it: topeffect and bottomeffect.
Bottomeffect is an effect called (Transform).
In my script, I want another layer (let's say secondlayer) to set his position from the position of the bottomeffects of the firstlayer.
Problem is, the property "Position" of the secondeffect of the toplayer is calculated trough an expression.
This expressions use a function, and this function is not recognized by the script language
I've tried something like:
var myArr = ["0","0"];
myArr = firstlayer.property("Effects").property("(Transform)").property("Position");
secondo.Position.setValue(time,myArr);
And I got the error: Undefined, is not an object.
I've tried lots, tons of variation, and i've got lots, tons of variation in the error message , but always an error.
So the question is: how can i get my goal?
And my goal is to say, trough a script, after effect to set a property to a layer copying that property from another layer, assuming the layer from wich i copy the property get the property values trough an expression.

You can use the valueAtTime() method to retrieve a value pre- or post-expression. Here's some sample code:
var firstLayer = comp.layer("firstlayer");
var secondLayer = comp.layer("secondlayer");
var firstLayerPosition = firstLayer.property("Effects").property("Transform").property("Position").valueAtTime(0, false);
secondLayer.position.setValue(firstLayerPosition);

Copy standard cost with Cost Component from another material

Hi,
I need to copy standard cost from another material not only total price but also details of cost component split. I try to used transaction CKUC with procedure of "explode material cost estimate" but the reference material use "mixed costing" and isystem stop explosion.
There is another procedure in order to make this copy? I can not use special procurement because are different codes (material A / Plant XXX copy froma material B /Plant XXX).

thanks for your suggestion, it works but only if I explode a level ... material "B" contains two mix codes that also contain their mixes. So system shows this message "Mixed cost estimate explosion in level 2 for material xxx" and "Mixed cost estimate exists: maximum of 2 explosion level (s) possible".
So Is not possible to copy and esploded a standard cost with multi level mix?

Copy and paste copy from another document

Hi,
Somewhere I've changed the color type is presented when you create a new text block and can't find where to change it. So everytime I start a new block of text or when I copy and paste from another document (word, email) the copy color has to be manually changed to black to see it. Where do I change this preference?

Thanks for speedy reply. So that fixed my new doc - when I put in new copy it is black. On the previous document, with no text select - click on the text tool and swatch shows it will be black. Draw the box on the layout - swatch switches no color (white box with a red slash). So, I unselect everything again, click on the text tool and it shows it will be black. Click inside the text box and it goes invisible again. Switch to color - click on text tool and it shows it will be black, but as soon as I draw the text box - shows it will be invisible. Shut down Indesign, restart - nothing gives.
Again, thanks for your reply. This isn't major just one of those little annoyances that is so minor with all the other stuff going on ... but with snow leopard problem - I just don't want to mess with too and I can't fix the other. giggle.

My requirement in simple that i want to create a contract with reference to another contract but in different sales area. My customer will be remain same. So it does not relevant whether i use routine 001 or 002.
I had tried to create with both routine but i am not getting succeed. I had also removed below mention code from routine and tried but not succeed.

CS5 - Help copy from another application and paste into CS5

I am not able to copy an image from another application and paste into my CS5 image.
I can paste the image into any other program except for CS5.
Does anyone know how this issue can be fixed? Very frustrating, since it is such a simple process.

You probably have at least one plug-in made by Nik Software. They're known to interfere with Photoshop's ability to access the clipboard.
I believe there's a Nik configuration file change needed, or possibly a removal of all or part of the plug-in to restore Photoshop's access to the clipboard. How AWT TextField can copy/paste from another application?

We know in applet for the security reason you can not access the getSystemClipboard from the Swing component like JTextField. But We know that with AWT TextField, you can copy and paste from another application. My question is how AWT textfield implemented with this feature. I don't think it is via the systemclipboard. Can some explain this for me?

the simplest way is to select the part of charactors and drag them into your textfield ^O^

Xorg.conf question

I am kind of embarassed to ask this question, but I have to. Where do I find xorg.conf? Do I even have such a file? It is not in /etc/X11.
When I installed Xorg, I also installed hal and then added it to module list in rc.conf. Does hal just detect my xorg settings everytime I run X, thus eliminating the need for xorg.conf?

The only solution was to boot from a live distro and edit the xorg.conf from there. I think the problem was the missing hal daemon - im not sure.
There's a much easier way - boot into single user mode (either add "single" or "init=3" to the kernel line in grub) and edit your xorg.conf using nano or any other text editor.
Now, hal is *required* as long as you don't have Option "AutoAddDevices" "False" in your xorg.conf. If you try to start X without having hal running, you will not be able to use your mouse/keyboard (again, if this happens, boot into single user mode and edit your xorg.conf). If you disable hotplugging (AutoAddDevices false), hal is optional (correct me if i'm wrong), but many features of KDE/Gnome depend on hal and won't work without it.
Personally, I'd recommend going with hotplugging and hal. First, try starting X without an xorg.conf. If everything looks good, you're done (on my notebooks I don't have xorg.conf). You might need xorg.conf to set stuff like your screen resolution - generate it (if you have an nvidia gfx card, use nvidia-xconfig), but make sure there are no lines concerning your mouse/keyboard in xorg.conf.
And, like paulez posted, you will need xf86-input-evdev.
